ok here it goes i've been a leeds supporter all my life as long as i can remember and albeit the last ten years have been tough on all of us and all these past few month of reading fello supporters posts i fell kinda feel sad why we keep speaking of the ground level of this terrific club bewilders me there's 11 lads out on that pitch trying to put on a show for us supporters their not thinking of bates or takeover or such but just a football team that try week in and week out playing their heart of for US!!
now ppl think? you dont have to be a superstar squad to get promoted from this league soton and norbitch have gone staight up from league one??
what you need is a team with tenacity(spelling) togetheress a team that will give blood sweat and tears for one another! which i think we have in abundence bar 1 or 2 players maybe? and thats all good! but above all a fanbase that supports them!!
but can you imagine whats its gonna be like i mean really think what the players are gonna feel if their own supporters are boycotting games for the sake of something behind the scenes? do you see the players boycotting because of it? no obviously not cos their to impress their manager and above all the fans! but the players are not gonna play their hearts out to a half empty stadium and cos of something they don't even care about?
the thing is i miss the great banter we had in the past and even the odd joke things getting really serious now like were some bunch of professors or scientists or accountants trying to figure out bout this takeover look if there's a takeover then fine god knows we can do with one! but if not whatever ken is nearly over the hill now anyways! gonna have to happen sooner rather than later!
cos at the end of the day we dont have a say or the power to change what happens behind the scenes and quiet frankly i dont really care i only care for them boys out on that pitch that give their all for us!
but what we do have the power do is sing and scream out for our team and be the 12th man week in and week out! cos they are really gonna need us this season especially if we dream of being in the promised land once more!
so togetherness again folks! leeds for life regardless of anything! MOT

Southampton spent loads they have a super rich owner

Agree0 Disagree2

Well said squire. someone at last who speaks sense.

the players aint walking off due to back room shenanigans; if we the supporters do then we should hang our heads in shame.

Agree5 Disagree1

Very true i mean who expected Stoke t even get promoted when they did.. then to stay up since they didnt exactly have any star players or household names did they!

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats because there getting payed to be here. Do you think they would if they had to pay to be there?

i am the eternal optimist and have supported leeds al my life but i am now at the end of my tether. ken bates is the most dispicable, parasitic man to ever set foot in eland road or leeds for that matter. ha has no love for the club, no love for the fans. he is a greedy money grabbing sheister . his greatest legacy will be destroying this once proud club. he needs to leave and let these new guys take the helm. hes 80 years old and he only holding out for the love of being hated and hating leeds. GET OUT NOW YOU OLD DECREPID LEECH. LOVE LEEDS HATE BATES !!!
JOE LEEDS

Believable9 Unbelievable0

Well put Joe. Always been on this page but i have a feeling some will try to say, you don't know Bates or that its his fault.
I know it will not be long now before people see him for what he is and doing to are proud club. My heart says the takeover will still go through. My head tells me Bates knows the deal is dead but is useing it as a smoke screen to sell tickets.
Never hated anyone like a hate Bates.
Love leeds hate Bates!!

If we can't get anyone in on loan we could always ask some players to come out of retirement....
Robbie Savage would get my vote, and Danny Mills or Jason Wilcox would be quality aswell ;)

Believable4 Unbelievable1

I bet lorimers still got a good kick on him RT

Agree2 Disagree1

Jason Wilcox was garbage first time round.

Agree6 Disagree2

We don't want any more 30+ players. We need flare and pace and that doesn't come with age!

Agree3 Disagree0

Good idea!
Make it even better for Bates. We are LUFC and we don't want f==k all for paying top ticket prices.
Love that one!
mot4life

Agree0 Disagree0

We dont need anymore dads army players! the team is full of the old g!ts already , average age of leeds team now is about 31?

Agree0 Disagree3

So if Clarence Seedorf said he was interested in a move to Leeds you wouldn't be interested? He's a very old git but still quality, if they're good enough it doesn't matter how old they are.

Agree4 Disagree0

Seedorf isn't retired he's playing for botafogo

Agree1 Disagree0

Good point I doubt you would be saying he to old and past it if it was giggs beckam or ronaldiniho they all have flair ok not all have pace

Agree0 Disagree0

Average age is 27 actually to the person that said 31 so 27 to me is a very good mix of youth and experience.

Everytime i see Neil Warnock commenting about the situation at Leeds he seems very understanding and honest of the situation within Leeds United at the moment.
At no point has Warnock said or even hinted at walking and if he was even given it a second though, he would surely have put pressure on the chairman and board by now during his interviews.
You can believe a little known reporter from a little known paper, speculating if you like but I'll believe my eyes, ears and instinct.
My eyes tell me that whenever I see him, he looks like a man thriving at the challenge at Leeds.
My ears tell me that he has missed a proper challenge like this. I hear a manager who is loving the relationship between him,the team & the fans.
My instincts tell me this is the perfect last opportunity for him. Getting a team promoted with the odds stacked against him. Old fashion style, based on managerial skill, team spirit & a loyal, vocal set of fans. Instead of winning by throwing money at it.
I genuinely believe although he would obviously like a little more money to give him/us a better opportunity of promotion, he is thoroughly enjoying himself here and is as happy as he has ever been at any club in his whole career.
You point me in the direction of ONE interview from THIS season that give's you any genuine concern that he is going to walk.

I bleed Leeds White - always have always will. But man - I am soooo sick of all this bickering backwards and forwards.

Bate$ - either sell the club or shut up! It comes as no surprise that "we" are having difficulty signing anymore class players! Now we hear that NW could walk after an argument with Bate$ - thats all we need...that will be the end to a very young very promising season! I for one - have had it already!

If this takeover is not completed by the end of this week,i would not blame the Arabs to tell where Bates can shove it and i would not blame Warnock either for walking

Why hasnt the board asked Bates to step down

This joke has been ongoing for over 13 weeks

He is the board. Perhaps if accidentally looks in a mirror he might not like the look of the bloke and fire him!

Just a thought, how much would we need to raise if we were to form a fan's consortium to buy back the majority shares? say if we could raise £100 from every Leeds fan in the country. could it be done?

Believable8 Unbelievable4

I'm in but if bates won't sell to GDF then why would he sell to a fans consortium

Agree6 Disagree0

No it couldn't. You'd need 1/2million fans at £100 a touch to get £50million the Arabs are supposedly paying. Factor in additional monies for transfers. A nice thought though.

Crmd

Agree3 Disagree0

Half a million fans! £50m

Agree0 Disagree1

First we need a website. Www.buykenout.com

Agree8 Disagree0

It would take 100,000 fans to raise 10 mill if we all gave £100 each so half a million fans all paying in and were about there !

Agree4 Disagree0

Don't forget we'd only need to buy the 28% Ken doesn't own, and put pressure on him to sell up enough to get 51%. then we'd have the majority and could technically fire him! he'd be forced to ditch the rest of his shares to the highest bidder. i don't claim to have anywhere near enough business sense to head this, but there must be someone among us.

Agree4 Disagree0

It could be done. I have already said a month or so ago I would buy a £1000 share. I bet many others could pay more. Trouble is organising it and then running it.
LUST - why have they never suggested it? Perhaps they realise that running a football club means running at a loss.

Agree3 Disagree0

Precisely, thought LUST would be all over this.

Agree1 Disagree0

Would you seriously give £100 (let alone £1000) to LUST?

I certainly wouldn't based on their past performances....

Agree0 Disagree0

But you would rather give it to bates would you to took away in a nice offshore account

I have today made decision to stay away from ER as have 11 of my friends..... i have been going for over 23 years . but i have decided enough is enough .... KB will kill our club, if we s sit back and let him,.

We have all taken the decision to vote with your feet, it's our personal decision, so I don't need somebody questioning our loyally.... i for one have only missed 11 games in the past 3 years home / away.

I didn't renew this year and I'm so pleased I made that decision.... ken bates has to be stopped, he cares 0% about out club and the fans.

When he has finally left the club , I will return but until then for me its time to go and Ken you can, F*** Off !

Believable17 Unbelievable1

Totally agree me and 7 of my workmates have boycotted up to now this season and while ever bates is in charge it will not change.i work for my money and av a family so bates can go and whistle hes avin non of it

SAME HERE!!
How bad does Bates need to get before others see him for what he is and wants.
GO F++K YOURSELF BATES!!!
mot4life

Agree3 Disagree0

I too will never go back to Elland Road while Bates is there - simples.

I've supported Leeds for over 40 years, good and bad times, but there's only one way to actually FORCE him out, and that's to cut off his lifeline - money.

Don't tell me that'll hurt the team, Bates has already done that and will continue to do so while we keep feeding him money.......

11 Sep 2012 15:53:37
this is a time when we need the likes of eddie gray and peter lorimer to help bring the club together. were have they been this whole takeover. Unite the fans. whi cares about bates.

Believable7 Unbelievable2

They wont say owt they are on Bates payroll. You notice how any time t/o is mentioned on state radio (sorry Yorks Radio) Eddie changes the subject. If we do get rid of the old goat then lets ditch YR and get back to Popey and Co at Radio Leeds doing the commentary

Hi Leeds fans,

Can I just say, before I get shot down by Bates Bashers, I AM NOT for Ken, I want him gone as fast as the rest of you lot... my message is aimed at the guy known as mot4life:

I don't doubt you are a huge Leeds fan as the rest of us are, but you commenting on EVERYBODY's post exclaiming your hatred for Bates and why everyone should boycott is borderline preaching, as if you are trying to get everyone to join a 'cult'.. If fans don't want to boycott games then they shouldn't have to.. I live in Birmingham and get to as many Leeds games as I possibly can, because I don't have the priveledge of Elland Road being on my doorstep, it's a shame really that all this is going on but the fact of the matter is, we support Leeds, and I always will support the boys on the field, and my hatred for Ken will never dampen my love for the White shirt.. anyone that it does, needs to consider the fact if they are a 'true' fan. Sorry for the rant.

AntW

Believable8 Unbelievable4

Pethetic post, as per usual you have to question people's loyalty for doing what they believe is best for the club.

I'm all with mot4life. Atleast someones trying to spread the word or fight for what he believes in.

Agree1 Disagree1

Hi AntW, I've got some respect for you, at least you have the balls to sign off for what you believe in.
I will be quick and honest. I will not stop spreading the word. While Bates is spreading his poison right through lufc. I will not stand by and watch this greedy old man kill are club. This man does not love lufc, he does not love the fans. The only thing this man see's and loves are pound signs. I have followed Leeds for 36 yrs through thick and thin, but nothing has ever shocked me a nuff to warrant my actions now. So no need to call my loyalty, loyalty is the reason why i feel i need to take a stand.
Ask yourself AntW. Where does it end?

To potential new owners I know Bates is pxxxing you off but please please please hang in. On a monetary reason the new owners will be able to do what Bates no longer can get a packed ER when Bates goes with the manager we've got financially that's 24 home games x 37,900 = 909,600 x average £25 per ticket = £22,740,000 just from gate receipts. That's what you get when all the fans are behind you. Unlike Bates which he would have had if he'd hav.
Been ok with the fans and done right by the club. So how good of a business man is he? get the full support of the fans and the club equal financial reward so potential new owners pay him what he wants get rid of the cancer and in the long run this club will bring you everything you could have possibly hoped for from a football club. Not rocket science Bates no degree needed no business acumen simple common sense This club has the potential to earn a gross revenue of over £30m in this division. God knows how much in the premiership. This is what could happen if you do it right and get the supporters behind you.

Supporters that stay way are simply NOT supporters. FACT!

We should stick together through the good and bad times. That's what's made our club great over the years. By staying away you're giving up on the manager and the players. Why throw your Teddy out over something that you have NO control over? If you think staying away will force Bates out then you're living on cloud coo-coo land! He will do what he wants, when he wants. He's a man that will not be influenced by anyone.

Get behind your TEAM on a Saturday like a SUPPORTER does!. My team needs MY support right now. I'm not going to walk away sticking my bottom lip out just because I don't agree with with what's going behind the scenes. Yes I hate Bates. But I love my club & team more. My team and manager needs my support NOW! If you walk away now, then you can stay away as far as I'm concerned.... Pathetic!

We still have a chance of doing something this season, yet some of you are walking away & turning your back on the team and a manager who is the best we've had in a long, long time!

When we do get back into the Premier League, (whenever that may be), and you turn up to a game, I hope you can hold your head high when visiting fans are chanting "Where were you when you were rubbish".

It's time to man up. Support YOUR team and manager.

MOT

Believable7 Unbelievable13

Sorry been a supporter for 40 years but i'm not going to go to another game and give Ken Bates my hard earned cash. I would love to still go but that man has squandered loads of money developing the stadium or just padding his back pocket and spending the bare minimum on the team to keep the manager happy. Mr Bates has enough of a personal fortune to have got this club easily into the premiership by now, there have been chairmen with less money, i'm thinking Blackpool, Norwich and Swansea to name a few, who have got their team into the premiership but for some reason Leeds haven't had the backing to do it.

You can't say that I am not a supporter of the club, I will still listen to the reports on the radio and TV when they are on, is my brother who moved to Cornwall for work not a supporter because he doesn't go to games either.

I know as one fan I won't make a difference to Mr Bates finances and I don't advocate everyone boycotting games, lets be honest Bates isn't going to care if the stadium is empty, this is my personal choice I don't want my hard earned money being wasted by a multi millionaire, but I do not like people saying I am not a supporter of the team I love. For 20+ of my years as a fan I never missed a game home or away, the only reason I started to miss games was I had a family so had less cash to spend and I was spending time with my young family. I'd like to know how long the original poster has been a fan for and how many games he goes to.

I'll be back at some point, either when Bates actually spends some money, or we have a takeover. Until then I may go to some away games to support the team there and not pay Bates.

MOT

Agree6 Disagree0

I haven't even got a teddy to throw. Some old c==t sold it from under my nose. Then replaced it with a second hand flee market one. I thought i could love my new to me but old to everyone else teddy, which was the case. I always knew that old man would be back again but this time he didn't want my teddy, he wanted my f==king pram, wheels and everything. I knew then this bully would not stop until i told to stop.
So the moral of the story is. Not all old men are sweet and old as they appear. There really sad old lonely men with no life. Who get there kicks bullying the little people.
F==k off Bates and do something good with your life.

Your right fella,Bates does what he wants, when he wants, sells who he wants.charges premier league prices, charges £50 for `membership`when buying a season ticket should be enough,im suprised he hasnt started charging to use the toilets yet,WHY DO YOU THINK HE GETS AWAY WITH DOING THESE THINGS?Because of people like you that will carry on paying inflated prices.KNOWING he`ll put NOTHING back into the club we all love,so YOU carry some blame for letting him get away with it,and he will continue to do so while he`s getting financed by
supporters like YOU.now that is a `FACT`.
