Fulham draw with Wall. Still second.

Think it’s about time we got some luck, and a season where we get “ the rub of the green”.

Agreed Brighty and we will definitely need a lot of good fortune and luck in the run in.

3pts separate us from 7th worrying with poor home form and no where near clinical enough, massive game Saturday again, if we drop out of top 2 i personally don't think we'll get back in we can't rely on other results draws are no good now.

12 Feb 2020 22:56:43
Yes just 3 points to 7th even I as a 'pessimist' well. actually realist didn't quite predict that scenario . thanks Radz . # Radz and Orta

14 big, big, massive games requiring strong team selection from Bielsa # drop Kiko

. and ALL the team to man up in front of goal # shots on target # score more goals than the opposition # 3 points each game.

13 Feb 2020 09:33:48
Last statement is the key one, Baz. Let’s all look forwards! Six points in the next two games will settle the nerves!

Well done Notts for posting a month ago that LUFC would announce that Forshaw would be undergoing an operation shortly after the closure of the winter window. Notts usually correct about many things along with my bro RHC.
Adam will arrive in Colorado very soon for the op. They should've made the call in October. That way we might have had a player come back to us in March. Now it'll be August at best and if we're promoted he'll be of no use to us anyway since we'll require better. Utterly pathetic from management. I have couple of questions. How did Radz even get rich? Oh yes tv and media. Stick to that perhaps. How's that trillion £ lawsuit Radz old company was facing?
Don't get me started on Bielsa. If he don't start Meslier next game he's a big fool. Is there anything Leeds fans can do to expedite the disciplinary hearing?

Interesting to tell KP' comments about JKA. Big, strong and fast, but needing to get his fitness up so he can press as well as BamBam. Those of you who suggested he was carrying a bit of surplus weight because he looked a bit chunkier than on the video clips, might be interested to know how he compares with two other forwards of a similar height. Kemar Roofe, formerly of this parish weighs in at 65 kg. JKA is 69kg and possibly the Premier League's most talked about forward this season Adama Traore tips the scales at 72kg. No-one would accuse Traits of carrying excess baggage - he's just infeasibly muscular for a now successful footballer. KP's further description as "a different player towould seem to suggest JKA may be.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

12 Feb 2020 17:02:26
Managed to press send before finishing the comment. What Iowa's going to say was that KP's further description of JKA as a 'different player to the pack' may suggest that he is rather more muscular than the others in the squad - which might also account for Dallas calling him 'Big Kev'. So perhaps like a slightly smaller version of Traore.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Feb 2020 17:11:46
Maybe while struggling for playing time at Monaco he's hit the gym a bit, and is now having to work on carrying that additional muscle mass during games.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Feb 2020 17:21:32
Could he do a job on the right wing instead of Costa?

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2020 17:50:31
Would probably need to work on his crossing in order to be an upgrade in that respect and his strength seems to be in standing on the shoulder of the defender then running behind, rather than dribbling past - so depends what you're looking for from the winger.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Feb 2020 18:52:14
Something like Traroe.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2020 19:19:13

I know it's already been said but Augustin has got to start. He can't be expected to come into a frantic game like that and score a hat trick.
Kiko needs dropping now, for his own sake as much as anything. You can tell by the defenders body language that they have lost faith in him. Has Cooper got big enough cajones to go to Bielsa and tell him this needs to be done, NOW! I very much doubt it TBH 🤔.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

12 Feb 2020 11:42:42
Agree totally Danum. JKA’s fitness should be up to the level of managing the first 60mins by now, and as much as the FA racism case, Kiko’s mistakes will now also be playing on his mind. On the final point, maybe Coops does have the nuts to say something, but I don’t think MB is a man who will be told what to do.

Hmm. Not quite a constructive comment that from Pontus, but I get what you’re saying Chris!

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2020 13:50:34
I know it’s difficult for JKA to rock into a game as important as last night but what I’ve seen of him so far he is off the pace and does need to improve fitness levels. Once he’s up to speed we’ll get a better idea of what he can or can’t do.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Feb 2020 13:59:02
Leeds were completely different last night compared to Saturday, we were much more confident and it wasn’t just one or two players it was the whole team. Great to have Phillips back MOM last night easy. Bam Bam played well too.
Need to get 100% behind the team as usual next two home games.

Agree2 Disagree0

12 Feb 2020 14:40:43
Maybe the difference was Philips back? I also thought White back in his best position and Dallas out of central midfield and in the left back berth helped a lot.

12 Feb 2020 13:08:05
Whitelight
Unfortunately we weren't linked with Woods during Bieslas reign so I am not sure if he is the right kind of player for the system that is being employed. But I have always thought him to be a good midfielder. Norwood was another that always impressed me but alas he is not on the radar either.

Yes, Kiki dropped a clanger, but;
We dominated the team at the top of the form table.
Their second half stats look like this :

Brentford in the second half vs. Leeds:

55 successful passes
49% pass accuracy
33% possession
2 successful passes into opp box
0 shots on-target
0 chances created
0 successful crosses

As the song goes, "Reasons to be cheerful, 1,2,3.".

Believable1 Unbelievable0

12 Feb 2020 11:11:42
Err ok Brighty
But the most important stats one goal each, one point each.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2020 11:27:56
Of course it is Baz, because that’s “the result”, but on the back of the Florist game, those stats are also something to be viewed positively. Plus it shuts their manager right up! Thanks for the team talk, Thomas.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2020 11:56:07
Bazooka - of course the result is what matters in terms of the league table, but can you not at least take a positive out of the improvement in defence - which but for Kiko's brain-fart would have blanked the second highest scorers in the Championship. Doesn't that give you a tiny bit more optimism for future games.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Feb 2020 11:56:45
Good point Brighty.

Baz - I think that is something we could probably all agree on!

Agree2 Disagree0

12 Feb 2020 10:40:36
Well were do we start, good performance against an inform team, we were easily the better team, but same old story.
GK needs dropping, last season he persisted with BPF, then when he eventually dropped him blackman got injured, he costs us alot, and yes early doors he WAS on form but it's about now not then.
Bamford?, but I don't see big kev doing any better, and Costa falling into the bamford mould, lacking confidence, think Alioski should of come on for 20 mins.
The lack of goals is the problem, cheers Radz, Clinton Morrison summed it up on Sky, if we had Mitrovic we would be promoted by now, but unfortunately we dont, I still believe but questions still need asking

Rumour that Forshaw is going to America for hip surgery and will be out for the rest of the season. Feel sorry for the player but question why this could not have been diagnosed earlier? Smacks of leaving or announcing the decision until after the transfer window as a tad suspect.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

12 Feb 2020 11:30:25
Not a rumour. He’s going. But will that give Shacks mor opportunities, or not? Gotts, McCalmont, McCarron? Doubt it somehow. ☹️.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2020 14:51:09
He was training a bit during the window and the club decided to give it until after the window shut before making a decision. Not sure why we didn’t just send him then and get a replacement in.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2020 16:02:24
Agree Alf. It was obviously something deep seated for him to be constantly in and out all the time.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2020 10:33:00
Well i was happy with that result given our current form. Did not expect anything from the game to be honest. Nice of Bubs to give JKA a cameo. Beats me how anyone can judge him on a ten or twelve minute performance but there you go. Nothing different last night to inspire me we will go on a winning streak but we should, and need to, win our next two. let's hope Wall can do us a favour tonight. Squeaky bum time again.

Would have been great if we had got the three points last nigh, which the performance would have merited. How sweet would it have been if our excellent away fans could have sung 'can we play you every week's - would have been the perfect riposte to Frank''s pre-match claim that it was the worst place we could have been playing at that point.

Anyway, the point will do, hopefully 'wall will put in a performance v Fulham tonight.

Given our recent run of form, a draw against one of the Championship contenders was a good result. Positives include; bossing the opposition on their own ground (except a 15 min spell after they scored) through retaining more quality possession and maintaining a high press when we did not have the ball. Keeping quiet a strike force that many pundits have waxed lyrical about, well done defence. Astute tactics to pin their left and right back through our wingers hugging the touch line being supplied with quality long passes. This definitely knocked Brentford out of their stride. Phillips was immense, glad to have him back. Negatives include; poor delivery of crosses from the wings. Despite getting a lot of joy by making their backs defend, when we attempted to cross it either hit the first man or was over hit. Harrison and Costa are not picking players out as much as hit and hope. Our finishing again was poor as both Harrison and Costa had good chances which both were hit with weak efforts. Individually we were better however Costa, Hernandez and Bamford did not have great games. Bamford I would excuse a little as he had little to work with but two half chances (at best) were ballooned over the bar, a sight we are seeing a little too often. Finally our goalkeeper. Be it that he is not good enough technically or he is struggling with external pressures, even his most ardent supporter must see that he is currently a liability. Gifted the opposition goal and could have easily done the same in the second half. Casilla needs time out of the firing line, because at the moment, he is good for a goal a game and I am not convinced we have the finishing quality to score two a game.

Nice one Notts. It’s great to see someone coming on with a view to discussing the game, as opposed to complaining about something!
Even the written reviews say that our defensive line was “unusually resolute”, which is hopefully a positive sign of MB’s ability to motivate / help psychologically.
Kal was always going to be a miss, and we need him fit / not banned for the rest of the season.
I agree re the wingers, but for me, not just because of crosses, but inability to score! They should both be weighing in with 8-12 goals per season, as should Pabs and Klich, and had they done this, we would be up already.
Sh1th0u53 of the match award goes to Ben White for trying to undo their gks gloves!

One of the best posts/ match analyses I have seen, even better than Bielsa!
To add what was interesting about Bielsa's report was how much detail he gave about a lot of players, what was telling was the ones he missed out.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2020 11:34:56
Great post Notts. Good to see a balanced analysis, giving praise where due and sensible criticism (no recourse to the hyperbole which seems to be some posters'default setting) where merited.

Good to see their heads didn't drop after Casilla's howler. Apart from that moment, we seemed to render their much vaunted 'BMW" look as sleek as a Robin Reliant - probably helped, as you by the pinning of their full-backs. Hopefully other managers will have noted that and use it to but further brakes on the Bees promotion push.

Casilla needs to be rested, to clear his head - so frustrating that Bielsa continues not to see that.
