Would Martinez be anyone's choice?

Believable2 Unbelievable3

13 May 2016 00:02:36
He would be at the top of the list Martyn. No doubt in my mind.

Agree2 Disagree3

13 May 2016 02:57:04
Our defence is bad enough without Martinez's lack of organisation.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 May 2016 19:16:29
Ive changed my mind. Been informed he doesn't practice set plays. Also a crap motivator by all accounts.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 22:50:49
Do you know the more I think about it and even though it's all wrong. It could be all right. Roy Keane. I can't believe I am saying this.

Roy Keane anyone? Forgetting his playing career. Worked magic at Sunderland could he do it for us. And maybe put Massimo in his place at the same time.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

12 May 2016 23:58:41
Wex

You are insane but if we do appoint him let me be the first to introduce him to the exact spot on the pitch where him and Alfie shared a special moment about 15 year ago. Appointing Keane about as likely to happen as Scott Wooton's chances for claiming the 2017 Ballon d'Or.

Agree2 Disagree0

13 May 2016 00:22:11
What are you on today Wex? He totally Effed Ipswich up, not to mention selling Jordan Rhodes for a pittance.
The man is an egotistical maniac.
As for Sunderland. He took over a good underachieving squad and brought in loads of top players. Dwight Yorke, Higgingbottom, Kieran Richardson and I think Jonny Evans as well, all top players at championship level as well as loads more who I can't remember.
So no thanks mate, imo.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 May 2016 00:24:25
Bit too far wex mate. Normally reliable posts from you. Lucky for you I've got some spare meds!

Agree1 Disagree0

13 May 2016 07:53:51
wex has lots the plot since I left him at the altar.

Roy keane as manager with alan smith as coach?

As a southern I don't hate man u, use to when we where up there with them but now they are different league so not a hate of mine. So I don't mind man u connection, I'd happily have bruce, ferguson, huges maybe even olie gunna (cant spell last name to save life) sohckia

but not keane for me, nothing to do with man u but more because his attitude and I don't think he is good, also what he did to alife ingna horland can not be forgotten.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 22:38:02
If Cellino got any notion of getting us up prem then Pearson is a good bet but can't see him coming to Leeds or working with mafioso Cellino! Lol.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

13 May 2016 00:25:15
I'd have Pearson above all the other rumours hopes. Even above Martinez. Pearson suits us and him.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 May 2016 06:59:12
You never know.
Pearson still doesn't have a job. Maybe he fancies a challenge. Plus he has as big an ego as Cellino and doesn't suffer fools. I think he if was guaranteed funds and a massive bonus for getting promotion he may just go for it.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 May 2016 07:48:51
Pearson did get Leicester promoted and with a 7 game win streak kept them up. BUT let's not forget the trouble he caused bullying players, being aggressive with reporters and wasn't there an altercation with fans?
Him + celino = even more crazy times!
For me Flores at Watford is class.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 May 2016 20:23:30
Roberto Matinez anyone?

Believable0 Unbelievable4

12 May 2016 20:46:22
No thanks.

Agree2 Disagree0

12 May 2016 23:05:24
Yes please. A step above of what we've had for years. Ok things went sour at Everton at the end but done well with Wigan and scousers at first. Plus GOOD football for a change.

Agree2 Disagree2

13 May 2016 03:51:03
No to Martinez wex but yes to Keane.
You got the nofootballitus bug bad mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 18:44:16
Seeing as this new legislation that's been brought in and overseas company's now have to reveal them self's to the authorities. does this mean we will now see who (individuals) actually owns Elland Rd?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

12 May 2016 21:08:21
Ken is not foreign though, so probably won't have to come clean.

Agree0 Disagree1

12 May 2016 22:07:33
Ken Bates is foreign Speedy.
I'm positive he's not from Yorkshire!

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2016 03:51:48
He is one of them southern sort innit?

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2016 07:55:51
dirty southren sort, I think we should find the f''''er tie him up and make him come clean, know a few people who use to do this for a living they are older now so would do this for cheap if anyone wants to chip in with me.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 16:54:05
Well, if Evans goes, new manager won't be Gus Poyet. He just signed a two year deal with Real Betis.
Lots of talented managers out of a job at the moment. Brendan Rogers, anyone?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

12 May 2016 17:24:53
i really do not know where I stand with him, is he any good or just road on coat tails of other managers? don't think he would come to us due to wages but even if he would I don't know.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 18:22:46
Agree BW, mind you this lachini that we are being linked with has won promotion from Serie B to A 4 times, not that the Championship is the same but you can see why Cellino might go for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 18:58:18
as wex would say without giving him a try it is hard to know, someone like that has far more of a shout than rodgers for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 19:15:59
Don't really rate Rogers seems like he can lose a dressing room fairly quickly and if we think Massimo has an ego Rogers takes it to a different level. Sorry Rodgers.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 23:11:08
What?! On what basis have you come to that conclusion Wex?
Never thought Rodgers had any kind of ego and as for losing the dressing room. Unless you are in the room don't believe what you read in the red tops mate.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 May 2016 16:48:15
Gary Neville for me to get us back in the big time! I think he would be a popular choice with the vast majority of Leeds fans! Would be a masssive boost to season ticket sales! What could go wrong?!

Believable2 Unbelievable4

12 May 2016 17:27:21
as much as i'd love him he is too great for this sad club, neville is being fast tracked for england manager and when they find out aliens exists I predict he will manage a world 11.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 18:21:29
with gigsy wigsy as his assistant!

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 18:30:27
Are you guys serious.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 19:08:07
Yes aliens do exist.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 20:40:40
neville and giggs THE DREAM TEAM! WOW.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 20:47:53
Roy Keane for me all day.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 20:47:54
Corky you haven't suggested Roy for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 23:14:13
Nope. Because he's a to**er. Good player but an absolute sherman tanker!

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 14:03:06
Martinez anyone?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

12 May 2016 14:43:46
Please no.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 May 2016 15:01:05
Why George?

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 15:10:57
I personally don't rate him. He has done a good job there but he's not for us. I know Evertonians who are displeased with him.

Agree1 Disagree1

12 May 2016 15:29:05
Why George?

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 15:42:19
something is wrong with the world me and George agree twice in one day. No to martinez, I do not rate at all, both wigan and everton have followed same pattern. he took wigan down and this year everton have massivley under achieved. he keeps making the same mistakes and can not move a club forward of fix basic mistakes. Rather fat man and about 20 other managers over him. our defence plus martienze = relegation.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 May 2016 15:52:23
Call it a hunch speedy. I know good managers from average from complete carp. He is in middle category.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 May 2016 18:22:44
make mine dry please! on ice with a dash of lemon.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 23:27:09
Martinez is a good manager. Fact. If Leeds got him, although almost impossible, I guarantee almost every Leeds fan would be jumping for joy. Fact. He is a step above our level and that is a Fact. So anyone who says he is average and not good enough for Leeds is talking total Crap. FACT.

Agree0 Disagree1

13 May 2016 00:01:31
Cork

Opta stats show his Everton team were defensively as tight as Villa.

Agree2 Disagree0

13 May 2016 00:34:25
OPTA Stats my arse George. Only score a few less than Arsenal and a lot more than Man U. Roughly same as Chelsea regarding pts, goals for and against. Had a poor season granted but does that make him a poor manager? Just like Mourinho?

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2016 07:59:39
cork what make him poor for me is same mistake for both wigan and everton, they play to expansive and can not defend letting in cheap goals which makes his teams finish lower than they should. in everton he has great players and had a good manager in place before, at first they did well but slowly they have fogotten what moyes taught them and become a matinez joke. worse home display form everton for years and finsishing well below where they should. bad manager for me and no thanks not what we need at all. I have about 20 other managers above him in my list.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he can't motivate players either.}

12 May 2016 14:01:31
Depending which paper you read it's either Iachini Flores or Sheridan. Flores will do nicely. Bring Deeney and Ighalo with you.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

12 May 2016 15:43:01
again agree 100% he is great manager with real class how watford could even think about getting rid of him is comical IMO.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 May 2016 20:48:47
If this is true it has to be flores.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 21:26:50
This was in a newspaper who have never got anything right in there history. Wish this one could be true, head and shoulders above anyone else listed. This really would show intent. Massive no to Sheridan, Robinson or Lachini.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 13:43:26
right I am going to be positivie for a change.

we know next year who has come down. VIlla I am not worried about if they are going any where it will be down not up. Newcastle are tricky as they probably will lose best players and manager but should spend a few quid. I can see them either storming league or falling outside playoffs depending on what they do this summer. Norwich are well set to go back up or challenge but don't think they are very special. Borough and burley are two good clubs so glad they are gone.

With this is mind next year should not be as difficult as recent years so if we do well over summer no reason we can't push for playoffs as the boss has said he will aim to do.

like or loave he is a passionate man so don't think he would mug himself now knowing where club and finaces stand so I am expecting a good summer.

i hope leeds fans go out and buy ST in droves as it looks to be a good year and best way to support MC is by backing him, best way to get rid of MC is also by backing him so he has no reason if he doesn't deliever.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

12 May 2016 14:56:55
Good managerial appointment first season ticket renewal second.

That's the best Cellooney can hope for.

Agree2 Disagree0

12 May 2016 16:07:38
All 3 relegated clubs will be strong as they are coming down with £60m in parachute payments (albeit over 4 years) . Agree that Villa could fail however with the correct recruitment they could be a force (and will be able to afford decent wages) . If Newcastle follow the pattern the last time they were relegated they will retain the majority of their squad. Norwich are a very good championship team and will be difficult to beat. Factoring in the other 10 sides that finished above us, some of which I suspect will spend some coin, I think it will be just as difficult as the season we have had, if not harder.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 17:31:18
i don't buy that parachute payment rubbish one thing is cealr, since the money got bigger, since the prem since all this parachute payment as many teams have suffered as have gone back up. look at us plus all the manay others, the expsne of prem wages etc out weights this which is the only reason which can explain us, wigan, blackpool, forest, saints etc

everyone keeps saying it will get harder but facts and reslts over last 10 years really goes against this.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 18:02:36
think Villa will struggle, Newcastle and Norwich will be tough games .
Newcastle fav to go straight back up .

Agree1 Disagree0

12 May 2016 19:19:38
Yes having £60m over 4 years is a real disadvantage. Not a guarantee but allows you to maintain prem quality players in the championship. Burnley have gone back up with Hull in the mix.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 20:10:33
Unfortunately Notts has recounted the position for next season perfectly. We will need to spend large. I think 7th or 8th would be a real achievement to shout about tbh with you guys.

Agree2 Disagree0

12 May 2016 21:33:39
The parashute payments mean that clubs can have at least 1 season for clubs like Norwich having a real go. However, for such large clubs like Villa and Newcastle with large squads and huge wage bills the loss of revenue and crowds could mean having a bad start and not getting up straight away could be disastrous for them.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 12:51:41
Hmmmmmm, Steve Evans 8/ 1 to be our manager on the 1st day of next season!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

12 May 2016 13:23:22

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 13:29:44
I said same yesterday at 6/ 1 where did you see 8s jay that's good value. I don't believe it is that clear he's gone. Massimo is a hard man to second guess.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 12:47:09
Nigel Adkins available. If we are to dispense with Evans wouldn't be such a bad appointment imo.

12 May 2016 13:47:49

you know what aus that would not shock me either, they have not been great and if they lose klose, redman and few others without replcaing well they could be in toruble, onyl thing is lot of thier players will be happy in championship and I do like their manager.
