Define Crisis? Ayling, Berardi, now Pontus (maybe).
Dallas not everyones cup of tea, especially out of position at right back. Shaughnessy a reliable back up but barebones comes to mind. Not the best of times for Foyth to start shining for Spurs dammit.

Nearly always agree with all the sensible comments on here. We are not robust enough for the big physical teams in this league. We also need to set up more defensively away from home against the top sides. Still think we are 3 or 4 starters short and another 3 or 4 short in the squad . How many of the current squad would be good enough for a midtable prem side starting 11?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - very few..

12 Nov 2018 17:51:02
none apart from saiz, i know he has been off form but is a class act, in the prem surrounded by better players he would be allowed more space and be more effective. If i was part of a lot of prem teams i'd look at him, maybe pontus as well, aling on form? outside of that i would honestly say how many would be in a top championship team?

douglas, mayeb kiltch or roofe and pablo, outside of that i think we have average players who are playing well with good amanger rather than good players. like my wife i think we are punching.

{Ed025's Note - dont let her hear that BW.. :)

That will be 0 Then
Janson maybe and maybe Douglas depends who the mid table team is.

None at the moment, but you can say that about nearly every other championship player. Guess when we get promoted then they will be Premier players. More about the system than the players. How many times have clubs paid big money for a top striker then he's sat on bench firing blanks. Happy with way things are progressing and be happier still if we show intent by signing a couple more in Jan. At end of last season no one thought we would get promoted this one but now we all expect to be in play offs at least. We look more like a team than we have done for years, Young talent coming through. Hope Bielsa can make the right decisions and not fall into the trap of previous managers by persevering with underperformers. Saiz shows he can so signs are good.

Good post mate.
It’s hard to be positive after a defeat.
It’s hard for me to be positive unless we win every game 8-0, but that’s because I’m a miserable git.
But we are improving. We do play as a team. We work hard. We are playing a new system and getting used to it. And we have youngsters for the future. Dips in form should be spotted and steps taken. Bielsa should be told that we are going to buy players in January by the owners so he better choose who he wants.

Berm, you asked a question and then named 7 (seven) so you think we'll only need 4 in when we go up?

I have just read the Biesla has said he doesn't think he needs to add to the squad in January

I am bloody glad he said that. Otherwise I can imagine chairmen at clubs with decent players wringing their sweaty hands and upping the transfer price by a couple of million. After all, Leeds are desperate and they know we still have a big transfer kitty from the summer

No. Better to negotiate from a position of power rather than beg for a player and pay the earth.

I think some of you posters who are writing us off unless the cheque book comes out seem to have a strangely benevolent attitude to Bielsa. He took the job after studying all last years games, he had a chance to comment and shape the squad during the summer. He has gone out of his way to make it clear that he doesn't think we need big changes in Jan.

It's easy for you to blame the players for not being good enough, the Chairman for not spending enough money and Orta for not buying the right players. But sooner or later you have to turn your guns in Bielsa. He has not got the record of someone who will sit idly by when he doesn't get what he wants. Although he comes with the reputation of a football genius, he hasn't won anything in club football and he also comes with a reputation as stubborn and resistant to change.

For the record, I'm happy with him and what he and the club are doing . For me it's a 2/3 year plan and not just about this year . When we go up, I'd like us to be able to stay up for a few years and the squad needs to be right for that to happen. Spending money doesn't guarantee success overnight, look at Fulham, over 100 million spent this summer alone and counterbalance that with Leicester's achievement.

Build in the right direction, make this year better than last year, create a style of football that people love and get the right players that add to the team. As I've said before, I'm loving it!

i agree and have been slated for questioning MB, he is a good manager but he is wrong about being able to go up with a small sqaud he underesitmated the challenge of this league and injires cost us. He didn't account for losing two right backs and now puts dallas above coyle and pearce. if he thinks dallas is good enough he didn't watch leeds enough over past few years or is an idiot.

I do think we are going right way and for me that is enoguh but at no point have i thought we will go up, suqad too small and spine too weak.

I agree Spanish, slowly slowly catchee monkey. We MUST give the man time. I do not think our squad is too small (altho one or two Quality additions would not be frowned upon) I do however think that he has been struck with the Managers Disease - "favoritism". His test now is, how long will he persevere when a choice is, quite clearly, not working. How long will he keep trying to fit square pegs into round holes?

If we don’t give a man like Bielsa the time to deliver, then we can just forget about going up. definitely need a bigger squad, with more strength in depth, but that doesn’t happen overnight. That said, I don’t think Radz will even consider chopping Bub, even if we go on a big losing streak.

Hard to look too much in to the defeat.

BPF should have kept the first two out, although Jansson didn't do enough either for the first.

The third was a ricochet which happened to fall nicely to one of the best players in the league.

Then again with the fourth a ricochet and BPF caught out of position.

As a whole we never get the rub of the green and Saturday was a prime example. Unfortunately for Leeds United, if they don't play well we pay the price for it. Unlike teams like Boro who pull a result out of their ***.

It was bound to happen. We have been beaten by Birmingham, Blackburn and now West brom. We could have dropped points at Wigan (but for a mammoth goal keeping error-lots of possession no real chances other than the first goal) , We could/ should have lost against Forest, We could have lost against Wedneday. The list goes on. Bielsa is doing a good job with average players. Its not that much different from Christianson. Same continuum just further along the line to the good. There is only so much you can do without the players.

yeah I agree with Hess we have had more than our fair share of rub of the green this season, as hess said forest goal, wigan mistake plus thorw in millwall hitting post in final minute when he should of scored. plus rub of the green in playign stoke and derby and norwich before they had time to settle.

I have said a few times I think we have flattered to decieve and may be right, that said we have only lost one game against a good team in this mental league so maybe i am jumping the gun.

agian agreeing with Hess mb is a very good manager but can't work miricles. i like coops but is he good enough to get out of this devision. maybe not, same With BPF I like him but too many mistakes will costs us, then alikso being inconsistant and our best player saiz being out of form, then throw in players like dallas getting game time and it is worrying, again I know i will get jumped on but I would also throw KP in that mix, great against wigan and rotherham one of the best in league but as soon as we play the better teams he will always be found wanting and with coops KP and BFP are the spine of our team and vital to every game. I have said from 1st game i can not see them doing well in the playoffs against the likes of Swans or west brom.

but then i am negitive and always worry, we are still in the mix and this year if any maybe anyone can do it so why not us. maybe rads will put hand in pocket and get a keeper (as MB don't rate jamal) a center back and CM who can play in physical and quick games

even the playoffs is a big improvement from last season and impvorement how ever little every year is enough for me MOT.

So what I’m hearing from some posters is, we were lucky when we played this team and that team, we played a few teams before they had settled! So we settled early and now just getting lucky? Without watching these other unlucky and unsettled teams regularly I cannot comment . I suppose we’ll see them storm the table, Derby became a little unsettled again at home to Villa! . But I hope the luck continues and some of the unsettled teams become unsettled again! That way way we might luckily make the top six! MOT.

well yeah kinda rag,

the original post says we never get the rub of the green where truth is we have had a lot of luck (all sitiuations mentioned above) we hit the ground running due to manager and hard work so cuaght stoke and derby and norwich off guard. again we have played well but have also falltered to decieve

since then we have had some bad luck but also shown our true limit which for me is between 5th-8th in the table. we have shown more fight this year and bit more class but also shown our weakness. MB is not a god and can't turn a team 14th into top four with pretty much same team. outside of douglas (and bamford but he is out) have we improved the team? then add to that our best player saiz has been out of form.

there are positives but many have had us as best team in league or champs which is great and lovely to have that positivity but for me sadly this was never the case. I would be delighted with playoffs.

Come on guys we are not doomed yet. Baggies are the best team in this league in my opinion and the only difference between them and us is they finish their chances, Just wish we had signed Gayle or Barnes instead of messing about with Vydra and Abel. Six points from next two games will do. Admit we need a couple of players in Jan. Dallas and Alioski not doing the business but we only have 17 and 18 year olds to replace them and Clarke is good enough but can we throw him in for the next 30 games over winter, not really fair on the lad but he needs using if only to give Alioski a kick up ass. Stats show Baggies with 20 shots and 4 goals and us with 16 and 1, that's the big let down for us at the minute and once that is sorted we will fly. Blackman needs a run in team as well BPF lettting himself down with some weak goalkeeping. We are still third and in touch and this league changes so quickly, who would have give Norwich a shout 5 games ago. Onwards and upwards.

They were the best I’ve seen I reckon.
There were far too many stray passes and being caught on the ball from us though.
Our finishing is woeful. We create lots of chance and play attractive football at times but just can’t finish.
We need that sorted. Not sure if def or attack is more urgent. I can’t really name one player that played really well. We pass to much in defence. I agree we should build from the back but passing too much can put more pressure on.
Think if we don’t buy we will struggle for top 6.

Aussie your third and fourth lines says it all for Saturday. We are usually crisp and precise at both so let's just say "poor day at the office" however we need to get some shooting practice in. My second team is Arsenal and if we are not carefull we could be accused of wanting to walk it in, like the Arsenal of old. Sometimes you think, for Gods sake just shoot! Maybe, if Roofe becomes a "Sniffer" he could grab a few more tap ins by poaching around the 12 yard box.

We had a bad day at the office against West Brom, we were top of the league down to third . I can’t see a problem . No team will run away with this league, from what has been played out so far . I reckon if you ask asupporters of any team in the top 12 on the league they’ll say the same thing . In my opinion we are a far better side th n last year, maybe mainly same group, but a better manager by far . The hen we slipped up in games last season manager panicked, for whatever reason . Bielsa is consistent and always analysiing the situ, in order to come up with a solution . I’m enjoying the ride.
