Heard that due to the lack of funds at ER, our icing on the cake signing will be jacob burns! Back to prove himself :p

Believable2 Unbelievable11

Along with David Harle Ronnie Robinson and Russell Doig presumably? Hey. Keep the dumb rumors to a minimum. More chance of us buying the other Aussie than the one mentioned. Burns from the Simpsons would be a superior signing.

Everton tickets sales very disappointing, I know we have our issues but this is a showcase game I want to show our new recruits what its like to play in a rocking Elland Rd under floodlights with decent banter with a good away support. Lets forget Bates for a night and have a good time and show the world we are the best fans in the country

I think players seen that it in round 1. When we thought a takeover was going down. There not stupid, they'll know why.

Agree10 Disagree0

Tickets selling well for the scousers, sold out initial allocation, asked for more & got 'em

Agree5 Disagree0

Three home games in space of a week doesnt help, this been the last of the 3.

I cant afford to go to all games but chose this one, not because its the cheapest, but because its Everton and I want to show me appreciataion again to the late great Gary Speed.

Everton will bring 5,000 so hopefully it will be a great atmosphere even if there is only 20,000.

RIP Gary Speed

Agree2 Disagree2

Just one other point - tickets for Hull not selling at al well and this game is next Tuesday, at least Everton game is not until a week on Tuesday. Doubtful stadium will be half full for Hull. Are more people boycotting?

This game is also live on sky so not surprised ticket sales are low !

Editors I was just wondering what your opinion is on tonge potential loanee signing what would he get in the starting eleven ? {Ed013's Note - He did OK for Barnsley last year and Neil knows him well so will get the best out of him. Jenas isn't match fit and Derry is in the QPR squad of 25. I would give Ross Barkley a go, it would suit both parties}

Surely there must be some movement in the takeover or some kind of dealings going on. Why else would it have been dragged out over 100days? After that length of time u would have expected the interested party to walk away if Bates is just pratting about. Im no expert in business but even i know this would not have been dragged on so long if there was no hope

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Said talks on T/O will continue until it's mathmatically impossible to gain promotion. will also add the T/O is a rumour, investment more plausable (if the casino granted)

ken bates, lufc,or the consortium,we want to know what the bloody hell is going on once and for all,we demand to know the truth,i don't care how much money you have or how influential you are or about your stupid confidentiality clause,we the fans are the people who matter, without us there is no club, and no bussiness.years and years we have been kept in the dark, relying on journalists who have no affection for the club for information, how about telling us the people who care, please please we need to know,we demand to know, let's make them tell us,i call for a demonstration on tues night 6 30 billys statue, let's make them listen.believable if your gonna attend, unbelievable if not, please don't let me do this on my own fellow leeds fans thank you.

The police do a full investigation into Bates dodging dealings
And he gets sent down
People like him and Ridsdale should never be able to get involved in football

Believable11 Unbelievable5

What are you on about? Whilst I'm no fan of bates, he isn't actually a criminal. He's taken money out of a company he owns. Perfectly legal, that's the point of having a business -to make money. He has various offshore structures in place which are legal too.

I dont know about anyone else but I'm getting bored and pretty miffed about all this takeover talk. We cant do anything about it yet people are getting overly dramatic! First Bates is screwing us all over (which he is!) then its the consortium's fault as they missed a deadline to handover funds...not only that but apparently Bates is gonna sack Warnock, oh no wait...Warnock's going to quit...players didnt get paid bonuses...Nobody knows anything that arent directly involved in the deal or the running of the club! We need to stop trying to wind eachother up and just support the team. Let those that are involved in the politics of the club get on and we will see what happens.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

12 Sep 2012 14:02:20
i couldve sworn us leeds fans supported the club through THICK AND THIN! you wanna let Bates stop you going, then hes already won hasnt he?

Believable6 Unbelievable3

Agree! anybody Remember the song "and we've had are UP and DOWNS" this is not a down atm were are not Pompey with 4 players above the age of 12 playing for us infact there is only about 4 under 30, This TO sage can last until December for all i care as long as we are top10 by Christmas and new chairman we will be in the playoffs , however will all our injuries i'd say top 15 by Christmas and we may still face a chance.

Agree2 Disagree2

Are crowds have already dropped well below the crowds we were getting in league 1 and to be honest i dont blame the fans that are staying away 1 bit... if bates is still in charge when i get my season ticket renewal form i wont be renewing
before the pc brigade jump on my comment its my personal preferance to stay away im not trying to force this option on anyone else but while bates is there i wont line his pockets anymore..
George LS13

Agree3 Disagree0

He will carry on winning while we keep filling his pockets,we have to think of the big picture and long term, bates will carry on not investing in the club,he will continue to sell off our best players to show we are in profit,it will get worse under bates, cos when he does leave he will leave us in such a mess that it will take years to recover properly,i wish all fans could get together as one to rid ourselves of this parasite, mot

Agree3 Disagree0

Depends on your viewpoint. Some people think getting Bates out is the only way the club will progress in which case continuing to hand him our money isn't going to help is it?

If 30,000 people start going each week he'll just be rubbing his hands all the way to the bank and the spare money will go into infrastructure rather than the team.

As things stand I won't be renewing my season ticket at the end of the 2012/13 season bringing an end to 43 years of attendance. As I've said before, 3 out of the 5 people I've been going with have already walked.

That's what Bates has done to us and the sooner everyone wakes up to that instead of mindlessly throwing money at him the sooner he'll go. If attendances go down to 15,000 next year he'll soon be gone because the club will go under.
ML

Agree4 Disagree0

Well said last poster,we have to get together and rid the club of bates, look how skint he left his beloved chelsea, imagine how bad he will leave us!,chelsea fans got lucky with their takeover.we will just get worse under bates, when colin does leave[which might be sooner than we think]what will happen then bates will sell any decent players and give the new man buttons to work with, get him out now we MUST come together to do this.mot

Leeds is simply a piggy bank toy for bates, he has never spent any of his own money, the future my friends looks very bleak, what KB is doing is to us all and our club is wrong, are we going to take this or should we fight back ..... your thoughts please, on how best to deal with the man ..... for men ????

Believable6 Unbelievable4

As a Leeds United fan of 45 years I've pretty much seen it all and done it all with this great club. Following last years poor showing and our new manager appointment it was clear we were in for a squad clear out.....then came talk of investment and possible takeovers. Most of the stuff I've read on this site and other gossip/rumour sites is just that, rumours. The club are bound by legal confidentiality agreements and will only comment when there is something official to say. So stop speculating and getting wound up, what will be will be!

There is a great saying in life, be careful what you wish for! I'm not a Ken Bates fan, not at all....he's Chelsea for me and that say's it all, but to be fair to the bloke he put the money up and bought us and the club is well run and makes a profit. What Leeds fans want is some one who is a passionate fan with money to burn but where are they? Instead we're talking (possibly) to a Middle Eastern investor (or possible owner) who could be worse than KB....you just don't know! All I can think is the potential investor/owner can't have that much money because they seem bogged down in details. If you had big money would you be bothered with detail!

Believable10 Unbelievable10

Good post - yes details - & bluff - who knows ? - but it reeks of business over football - its not the more innocent game we knew friend thats for sure

Agree2 Disagree2

Why are people still saying he makes us a profit. If thats a fact! Why do we have no money then. The building of ER is on strength of season ticket sales over 2 yrs. The only profit we have is in are youth system and Bates is rinsing it. We will never get rid, while people are still blinkered to Bates making us a profit.

Just want to say how embarrassed i am to be a Leeds fan at the minute. I have seen people posting about serious stories they have heard from the papers, only for fellow fans to hurl abuse at them. That isn't UNITED, that isn't why i fell in love with Leeds United, our fans are almost unrecognisable now, i know it is a hard and frustrating time for us fans but it has always been hard to be Leeds. We have obviously all not seen eye to eye all the time in the past either but we have always respected each others opinions and not rubbished them. Just hope some Leeds fans will stop getting on each others backs so quickly.

All this talk about not doing a boycott is misguided and I did write not. We should do a boycott. Ken should be hit in pocket. Why? Because apart from fact he is disgrace as a person he sucks the club dry like a parasitic leech. Where's all the money gone? He will say East Stand Development and other property things but that only accounts for 2/3 of the money in my opinion. Boycott hurts Ken. It does not hurt the club because Ken is the club the club is Ken!! Ken just uses the club to make money for himself. He doesn't deserve our money anymore and know this because he's 100 per cent shareholder in effect we are paying him! He is not leaving any money in the club for player buys. We spent minus 700k on players this last window. Ken out. Boycott!!!

Believable3 Unbelievable3

How did we spend -700k? we sold Lonergan 200k Clayton 500k and Snodgrass 1.5m upfront so 2.2m. We bought Pearce 500k Kenny 500k Austin 300k Varney 300k Peltier 850k thats 2.45m plus potential signing on fees for the frees we got. I dont think 2.45m-2.2m = -700k maybe im just bad at maths?

Agree1 Disagree3

Boycott does not hurt ken it puts LEEDS nearer adminstration

Agree4 Disagree6

Its people like you that make me ashamed to support this team, the only thing a boycott hurts is the 11 on the pitch who NEED our support!!!! go back to your LUST meetings

Agree5 Disagree6

So we carry on filling his pockets til he leaves us skint?,god bates has some in the palm of his hands, this is what bates relies on,it's time to pull of the plaster and deal with the wound[bates] b4 it's too late, mot

Agree1 Disagree1

Of course a boycott would hurt him. It would bring the revenues down and therefore the amount for which he can sell the club.

I'm not one of those boycotting but to suggest it wouldn't hurt Bates clearly shows a lack of logic.
ML

Agree0 Disagree1

Boycotting is the only way to hurt bates. even if he put leeds into admin there would still be a leeds united even bates is not that stupid or bitter. mite not be in the league us fans want.

Agree2 Disagree0

If we went into admin, everyone is forgetting. We are a 1 club city and the 4th or 5th largest. We would see a que of buyers at the door because it doesn't take a buisness man to see the real purtential. Bates would be off like a shot. If he thought he had to put his hand in his own pocket. He wouldn't want to hang on till we run up big debts because we would end up worthless to him.
It was harder to get a buyer before because we had over 100 million pounds worth of debt hanging round are necks. This would not be the case this time round.
LOVE LEEDS HATE BATES!!

Agree1 Disagree2

EEEEEHHHH!! He set it up and took a gamble. Reported in the papers that he knew the people we owed the money to. Plus there was still a matter of 35 million hanging around are necks. Like i said this would nt be the case this time round.

Jermaine Jenas going to be paid for by Tottenham Hotspur to play for us. Well contribute massively to salary. Apparently we are going to pay for his boots to be cleaned occasionally.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Yes bannan doing really well int he where are villa in the league again he is only in the team because they have no other options. as for livermore wow coming of the bench now and again im sure he did the same thing while he was with us so nowt has changed there then has it Leedsmad!

I know this is a rumour site, but a rumour should still have some substance.

Let's look at the facts, nobody who'll post on here knows anything about the takeover. Nobody knows that Warnock is ready to quit or be fired. Nobody knows what the outcome of boycotting games will be (let's face it, these same brainiacs thought protesting would get Ken out, Bravo!)

The one thing we all know is that people who pass off things that they make up in their head as fact are just a bunch of persons!

'C'

Believable11 Unbelievable2

To be honest if people ONLY posted rumours with genuine substance they'd be very little posts on here if any. Those people genuinely trusted with confidential info such as the takeover don't go blurting it out on internet forums. Chill out and take it for what it is and if it stresses you that much don't read it

Agree6 Disagree0

12 Sep 2012 08:02:43
Its strange that which ever way this takeover goes we will never know the full story of what happened during the talks and why it took so long. All the confidentiallity clauses that have been signed, and according to a friend who is an intern at one of the lawyers, these are the most comprehensive confidentiallity clauses ever seen for a football takeover mean that no details will leak out ever. Part of it is that the takeover company like to do there dealings in private which is fair enough but whos betting Bates has asked for extra confidentiallity to hide all his dealings and accounts that he has used over the years

Believable6 Unbelievable0

12 Sep 2012 08:02:43
my thinking is. if i was buying leeds from bates who was been awkward i would get the fans on his back big time. in a mth or 2 hed be forced to sell. if lufc are in the same position by next summer bates wouldnt be able to give it away

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Thrn he won't sell you loontic as he said what a bunch of people if you were so smart you'd have the money or be able to rais it so "put up or shut up" its a business not a nursery school which is where a lot of you seem to be from learn the rules of business profit profit profit!

12 Sep 2012 00:22:07
aye, and to back up some other leeds fans on here, hopefully the tide is turning away from the personS who say "yeah lets boycott the matches" and "yo lets stop buying programs pies and merchandise".

lets just hope these persons who have suggested any of this have gone back into their deep holes and don't f*ing come back.

change of routine, i.e. boycott in ANY sense, leads to two things:
- the team fails
- the business fails

both are intertwined. if one fails then the other fails. you COMPLETE MUPPETS who want to hold revenue and support back from the club are dooming us to non-existence. think about how close it came before and how lucky we are to still have a club - a solid club - that we should be getting behind thick or thin.

and to the person who got offended when i said "are you millwall" then yes you obviously are - it doesn't take stephen hawkins to work out that the team or the business fails then we disappear; you were obviously withdrawing your support so you want us to fail.

now to everyone else - we are leeds, we always have been, we always should be, get behing the team, get behind the boys and lets march on together.

Believable10 Unbelievable14

Ok then lets.fill ground every week everybody buy a pie and programme, into club shop buy shirt n scarfe and still see no investment in team, but take comfort from knowing we r making uncle ken richer. Sorry kid not for me you must be on benifits and av your money given t you.

Agree15 Disagree7

I dont agree with boycotting or not purchasing merchandise.but what i will say is whats going on is likely to sadly lead to a decline in people just not putting there hard earned money into a club who will not give us a chance to get back to where we belong.by this i mean that if we get injuries and susp, which have already started with midfield then the team cannot sustain a challenge.people will just slip away again then.i mean 24k for blackburn.in prem we would reg get the 40k.at 24k this means people are still staying away and if midtable or less this will be under 20k.dont slag off fans who are entitled to there opinion and to where there hard earned money goes.please dont boycott games, certaintly not yet....shrew leeds

Agree2 Disagree0

Interesting to see what people will do who are slagging off ' boycotters ' when warnock walks away and the takeover collapses? will you still not be buying pies cos thats making such a difference (not).

Agree2 Disagree3

The whole aim of the boycott is to make the business fail as bates hasn't got the funds to run leeds for another season without the income from ticket sales etc . if we do nothing we will be still talking about the same crap in 5 yrs time . so boycott all this season and he will have to leave as he is unwilling to use any of his own money .

Agree2 Disagree1

These people slagging off fans who want to stay away until Bates has gone. I have news for you, go take a look in the mirror. Fans are staying away because of the love they have for there club. I too will not go until Bates is no longer sucking are resources out the club. If you can not see and are happy to be the biggest joke in the Championship and have the attitude of put up, shut up. Then crack on my fellow fan. I would rather use the money to see a smile on my little girls face. Then a smile on a old leech sucker of a parasite, that is Bates.
Believe me when i say, staying away is depressing me to the max.
This is a sad time in lufc history. I can not believe one sad old man can drive a wedge between such proud and loyal fans.
BATES YOUR KILLING THE CLUB AND THE FANS!!
mot4life

Agree5 Disagree1

Real fans boycotting games are making a great personal sacrifice for the better of the club, I am not because I am too selfish and cannot miss going to games. I cannot make that sacrifice at the moment. To try and help our great club what sacrifice are you making? oh your not making any your just doing the thing we all love doing, going to games. So you and me are not making any sacrifice for the better of Leeds United as we cannot handle not going to games. Lay off the real fans of Leeds who are making this sacrifice as we cannot because we are too weak and selfish and we are not true loyal fans.

Instead of the destructive talk of simply Boycotting matches to hit Ken in the pocket (which I doubt it will - he will still eek cash out of the club through his payments for rental of Thorpe arch and Elland Road et al - which in my opinion is what he does, and show the losses on the books of Leeds United Football Club, and of set with transfers)

Why not get the Trust to do something positive. Channel potential savings from any boycotts into personal accounts and for a reserve to for a supports buy out with the help of select local businesses and entrepreneurs.

This will off set the damage to the club as the price is driven down.

Needs the right group to drive this, needs LUST to step up and make positive moves... Not just spread unclarified gossip.

Bates is controlling the situation, lets do something to take the control back.... In a productive way!

Just my thoughts.. Are they really that ludicrous?

R0881e

Believable0 Unbelievable7

Dont you get it............this person is out to destroy us ............he'll make every pennt he can from us then ditch us..........this is the darkest days weve ever been thru

Agree5 Disagree6

Yes it is ludicrous ! If your plan did raise the asking price, Bates would raise it, if even that was found he would change the terms just like he has been doing. He s having a real good laugh at us

Agree1 Disagree0

"Why not get the Trust to do something positive."

That'll be a first then........

Agree1 Disagree0

Sure I said drive it down..

.....I did, I did say "Drive it Down"!!

We all know what/who the problem is... We are incessantly told and reminded in 8/10 posts.

What I was trying to offer was a solution to the problem, it may be far fetched but every success starts with an idea.

So instead of problems can I here some solutions??

Mine may not be the right one accepted, but please Start posting something positive and constructive. KB is laughing at us argue between ourselves, let's channel our collective voice and abilities to regain the power and turn our fortunes around. No one but us has the best interests of the club at hearts. No one but us just wants success, not for the potential financial benefit success would bring. This is Football, it's a club, this shouldn't be a business!!

Agree1 Disagree0

^ Got a good point. We do need to channel are anger into something that will bring us togeather again and make Bates stand up and take notice. Does anyone have a idea what Kens address is in Monaco. No point sending things to the club. You know where that goes long before it hits Bates's desk. I know its not much but it would be a laugh to f==k with his head.

about this fans consortium, let's not just talk about let's have a go first someone make a website for people to put their names down and communicate can anyone do that, 2nd I among who else among us can advertise for investors we will make a you tube video with our plea to buy out ken Bates make it viral and get fans from all over the world interested, 3rd the business people among us can put together a plan and put forward an offer. if this came off we could then choose our own chairman. I'm sure we have the right kind of people to make this happen in our fanbase we just need to do something about it who wants to get serious and actually take action and take control of our club. I reckon this would impress Warnock and the team can you imagine the spirit around elland road if this was to happen come on Leeds fans let do as our motto says and march on together.

We are Leeds UTD, we have the smallest Squad in the League, We used to be Famous but now we have No Money, We have a Chairman who hates us all so much he just loves to wind us up, He refuses to Step DOWN and Walk AWAY Knowing its causing a huge Rift in all the fans, He LIES to his Manager fills him with false hope then refuses to Back him with LOAN signings. But at the end of it all WE WILL ALWAYS BE LEEDS UTD............ MOT
