Who knew that cooper has signed for Barnsley? ! that's the only thing I can think of for their disintegration in 10 minutes

13 Apr 2017 22:43:19
Surely he signed for Swansea? after they lost 3-1 from being 1-0 up with 2 mins to play.

Guys. I've lost track. Help me out. Is Pontus 1 booking away from a 3 match ban, or 2 bookings ?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 Apr 2017 14:22:29
Pontus is on 12 bookings for the season at the moment. 15 cards before the end of the season would result in a ban.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Apr 2017 14:49:01
He's on 13 as he got booked v Cambridge as well. His ban runs through the playoffs as well.

as far as I'm aware he is one tantrum away from never playing for us again at the last count

What are your views towards Cooper, Bermo?

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Apr 2017 17:28:59
honestly i liked him and stuck up for him on here earlier in the season and thought he might be better alongside bartley in a better defence. However he makes too many mistakes and does cost us which is a worry espically in playoffs i would not feel comfortable with him starting. like the lad and decent player but maybe not at this level. he is one i root for but head says different to heart. I personally hope pontus sorts his act out as great player if not i'd play Taylor Bartley Aling beradi at the back and think they would do a good job

Just wondering, as you slate PJ's attitude but happy with Cooper standing on someone's head?

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Apr 2017 17:48:46
thing is with cooper on almost every occasion we have to score to get back to equal when he plays, as he will inevitably cost us at least one goal a game. Prime example was in the FA cup. granted a very bad day all round, but he was put in as a senior player to calm the youngsters. got sent off, through rash challenges which left us with no real seniority on the field! That was just irresponsible! I do feel very uncomfortable when he plays. for me he needs to move on in the summer. Bermo I feel too that ayling is a better option at cb

13 Apr 2017 18:01:43
To be fair to bermo sg, I think he was in agreement with me and you about the cooper stamp, that it was unacceptable and that he deserved everything he got!

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Apr 2017 19:28:21
coopers stamp was wrong, he desever to be banned but very different to pontus. cooper broke rules pontus for me is very different but worse he has gone against his team mates, his manager, his fans this is not on. both are wrong but prefer someone to break rules of game than goes agasint his team but both are wrong but can not be compared

Agree0 Disagree6

13 Apr 2017 20:16:09
Do we have contrete proof that Pontus was an arse though bermo? I haven't heard anything either way to confirm it. To be honest though I'd rather have a disloyal Pontus in defence than a loyal but inept cooper. Disloyalty doesn't ship goals. Though I'd rather have a fully loyal, happy and focused Pontus.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Apr 2017 20:39:33
Getting back to speedyies original question. Speedy why are you asking such a rediculous question? ! It is obvious that normal rules wouldn't apply! Pontus gives us an "unfair" advantage over anyone, and as we are Leeds there is no telling the rules the fa would impose. obviously they would be more relaxed if we drew udders, as udders are unfashionable, now if we drew reading or Fulham or at a pinch Brighton then they are southern clubs, meaning Pontus would be publicly flogged and then dragged through a united airlines flight flight of fa executives!

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Apr 2017 20:52:27
Cooper broke rules? WTF. Bang out of order what he done and a disgrace to LUFC. Always liked Cooper as he's always wholeheartedly all in but can't condone that. As for the Swede. Not sure Bermo you know what you talking about mate. If you do let us know and ill apologise.

No proof Pontus has done anything at all Curahee, it all came from someone supposedly 'In the know' on social media. This after the first time he got dropped where someone also 'In the know', and again anonymous, claimed Pontus punched Bartley (Something both players dismissed instantly then made fun of) . Since nothing has been said by anyone linked with the club and Pontus went straight back into the team (Monk could have stuck Ayling in there now Taylor is back) I would be surprised if it was much more than he has been getting a little fired up in training and Monk wanted him out of the team a couple of games to calm down, so he didn't pick up his last two bookings.

Agree1 Disagree1

13 Apr 2017 21:46:00
Have we concrete proof Cooper was acting with intent

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Apr 2017 21:27:19
curahee i have to agree, much against my better moral human fiber and love for leeds being bigger than one man i rather a disloyal pontus than loyal cooper. i just hope it can all be kept a lid on until playoffs are over and we have won them because i fancy our chances of promotion better with pontus than without and at the end of the day pomrotion is bigger than anything else for us at the moment.

as for what i know about pontus, now i am not jeff so have no inside track but i do know this, pontus is class but torino let him go (2) we got him cheap (2) monk dropped him for cooper (2) , monk dropped him again (2) pontus pulled himself out of the game on the day levaing us without cover in defence on the bench (2)

now either monk thinks cooper is better than pontus which makes him mental or something/somethings happened that made monk feel he had to make a stand. Now i might be putting 2+2+2+2+2 together and coming up with five but i don't think i am. think some players don't want to see this or have rose coloured glasses on because he is very good and a crowd favorite but end of the day if this was a lesser player he'd be getting slated.

Same with Cooper what he did was wrong, but disgrace to the club? Shameful? and everything else thrown at him is a bit much, if he was better such harsh ciritisim would not be thrown at him. not sayign what he did was right but some have gone over the top.

Billy Bremner had a full on punch up in a charity sheild game on national telly which was far worse than what cooper did, so was he a disgrace to the club course not it was forgiven unlike cooper simple becuase king billy was better player same when kewell dived. good or bad players end of the day right is right wrong is wrong think some perspectives of this are coloured by how good and important the player is.

i think if cooper did what pontus did he would be hung and if pontus did what cooper did people would sing songs about it and say what a non nonsense hard proper old school defender he is (not all fans but some)

Agree2 Disagree5

13 Apr 2017 21:59:19
Gummie had no idea that is what's had been said! Honestly agree if that was the issue he wouldn't have been dropped for two games! Something and nothing I think

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Apr 2017 22:02:54
Wex have you watched the actual stamp. if you can tell see clear intent in it then either you have problems with your eyes or he has less control over his legs than an octopus! I think the telling thing is that you are the only person her defending him! I'm pretty certain that we can say he knew exactly what he wasn't doing.

Agree0 Disagree1

13 Apr 2017 22:21:25
DONT know bermo. yes a punch up is bad, but keegan punched back. it was a fight. Cooper stamped on a head unprovoked. there's a difference. Yes kewell feel over if there was a blade of grass out of place, which I hate, but again not sure you can even put that in the same bracket as what cooper did. For me what he did was in the Sam bracket as the Ben thatcher elbow!

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Apr 2017 22:28:10
Bugger! that reply to wex was arsed by autocorrect! The gist is he knew what he was doing and the proof in caught on camera! Damn you autocorrect! 😡

BW Torino letting him go with a reasonable price tag was to do with his injury record (they felt he couldn't put in a full season because of knee problems) rather than anything disciplinary, a lot of their fans where upset about it.

As for the pulling out at the last minute I don't think anyone would have batted an eyelid had we had cover travel. He went out for warmup felt tight in the hamstring and pulled out. Wood did the same thing last season in a game, better to be careful.

Imagine if he had said nothing, played then pulled it, we would be up a certain creek without a paddle right now. That said I too am not claiming to have a direct line to Massimo, maybe Pontus is a bad egg.

All i'm saying is that a lot of simply explainable things seems to be getting blown wildly out of proportion with zero proof other than somebody on the internet saying a friend of a friends girlfriends dog told them. If we go up but instantly sell him then maybe the mystery man knew something after all but if he is here next season its all almost certainly bull plop, which is my stance right now.

Btw I would expect him to get dropped again this season if he picks up another card, so we have him for playoffs, in case it happens and more rumours spring up that he kicked Monks cat or whatever.

I'll speak up for any player with Leeds United in his heart rather than a player who thinks he's bigger than the team

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Apr 2017 11:29:24
think bremner threw 1st punch. cooper don't have history of this so maybe he was provoked? we don't know what happened in the game off camera/ball maybe it was something from years ago when the player stamped on cooper.

not saying it was but all i can see is he did someting wrong, but no worse than what others have done before or will do again yet they will not be called a disgrace, in fact i rememebr batty doing an awful stamp on a player very similar in fact worse as it was a kick back. was batty a disgrace to leeds?

not saying he was right but it seems one rule for bad player and another rule for a good player to some leeds fans. right is right wrong is wrong. to pontus being dropped some have said sure it was something about nothing. if this was the case monk would nt of dropped him. also even if dropped he pulled himself out of a game leaving us with no cover yet played fine game before and after?

come on how dumb are some people, that alone with out other things is an absolute disgrace, imagine is slivstri did the same leaving us with no keeper when he got dropped for green, would fans stick by him? would they heck. people turn a blind eye to ponuts becasue he is pontus.

if not for transfer window i would say get rid and repalce but sad thing is we need him, that don't mean he is not a disgrace and i do hope we get rid ASAP . end of the day he is not leeds good or bad i would play him to gte up but i do not think he is accpetable and monk don't seem like type to over reacte more than once

Agree0 Disagree1

14 Apr 2017 11:33:07
gummie we don't know that it was due to suspect knee why they let him go cheap. it may well be but like we don't know he caused trouble we don't know they let him go as he is a problem in dressing room, they are not going to say that are they? it is all guess work all i know is since he signed he has pulled out of one game and been dropped twice. this does worry me because he is a good player

Agree0 Disagree1

14 Apr 2017 11:34:43
My point was you were quicker to give Pontius the benefit of the doubt for his actions which he has time to think about what he's doing rather than Cooper who was in the heat of battle.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Apr 2017 12:55:31
Wex, if Pontus has refused to play etc then yes that's awful and if he doesn't want to be here then he should sod off, but you can't compare the two! Refusing to play and committing GBH are two very different things. Not saying it is worse than what others have done or will do, but it certainly doesn't have any place on the field, or in the civilised world to be honest and I'm shocked that just because he is in a Leeds shirt people will defend that behaviour!

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Apr 2017 13:02:48
Bermo we don't know why Pontus was left out for sure mate! We have no proof, just speculation, cooper on the other hand was caught on camera from many angles.

If any of you have the sky sports app, go have a look st the column on 'monks midfield conundrum' there's some very interesting stats, and we appear to win the most games with o'kane and brid starting in midfield, 80% of games I believe. Next is Phillips and vieira with 75%.

This is interesting for me, shows that the two old heads know how to work together, and the two hungry young lads know how to put on a show too? 11 for Friday: Green, ayling, Pontus, barts, taylor, bridcutt, okane, roofe, hernandez, ped, wood. Score line 2-1 Leeds, Jansson with the winner.

that would be the team i would go with and let brid and o'kane know phillps and veria are hot on their tails who don't perform don't get picked.

Love Berardi, but monk will know that Taylor will need game time too if he wants to see a slim chance of a future here, this will be a one off defence and Berardi imo if not selected will be 100% back in for the weaker full back on the day.

Just to make it really obvious that Reading are not Leeds . Reading in the process of being taken over by some Chinese guy that the Premier League wouldn't let takeover at 'Ull because, reportedly, he failed the fit and proper person test. But for the FL it's all fine n dandy and he's approved, far be it for me to say anything about brown paper bags . but, makes you think eh?
