Yep, good game particularly the first half where we completely dominated with some great play from Stevens and Dalby, who both came off early, possibly for the game tomorrow. Clarke had a good game as well. Shaughnessy played the Phillips role pretty solidly. Huffer good in goal and Struijk very commanding in central defence.

Ideguchi, a strange one, doesn’t impose himself on the game, and a few errors, but he had one great ball, the assist for Dalby’s second goal.

We won 2-1 by the way!

To be honest Spanish, I find it difficult to pick the stand out players from that match. They were all very competent with the ball. Shaughnessy definitely playing in a game that he is far above. Huffer, very good with the ball at his feet. Strujic will be class. Stevens and Clarke will be really pushing this season. And two quality finishes from Dalby. Like I've said, bright future for us lot!

Stevens and Dalby made a big difference to the fluidity of the play, we struggled to keep it up later in the game and without those two.

Bielsa went to watch the game which is really great, shows a lot about him and great incentive for the under 23s and the seniors who turn out for them. It is a real chance to express.

I wonder with Ideguchi, not sure he is adapting at all well to the European game, but do we give up. Chased a lot yesterday and had one really good touch. I wonder if Bielsa will see something deep within him worth working at. Perhaps a year with the under 23s, where we are starting to understand him, would be better than farming him out on loan again.

i know a lot of top people from Oreint and they all rated Dalby and gutted when he left, they all predict a bright future for the lad.

Tbf George, whiteman is right. There will be many a club sniffing around very, very soon, and not just in England. Hopefully he is fully bought into this project, and wants to take us all the way. Only time will tell.

George is a comedian, and a very good one at times! Also most of his posts are far from crappy!

But re Bielsa, as he said today, only 2 games, nothing is achieved until the end of the season. He’s on good money to get him over here and I think the job means a lot to him . Here he has a chance of real fame and glory, to make a mark and give his reputation some real modern relevance.

What would be better, having the chance to put his attacking ideas into practice in a realistic way or getting involved in a relegation dog fight, no preseason, no opportunity to shape the play, not his thing I think.

Spanish, I did not say anything bad about Bielsa what I said was is that other teams like West Ham who are at the bottom at this time look to dump there manger they will be looking for a new one which could be Bielsa, George decided to post some crap trying to be A comedian or funny, I totally disagree and it my opinion his post is crap and has no content worth reading. In my opinion he should self destruct ASAP.

Whiteman, I didn’t say you did say anything bad about Bielsa, just explaining why I don’t think he would leave for a club in a relegation battle which are likely to be the clubs who would go for him this year.

And as I keep on saying on here, is only two games, against teams who we can’t be sure will be up there at the end of the year.

A long, long, long way to go.

I'm on George's side. His posts, although not necessarily presenting views I agree with, tend to be perceptive and well thought out. When he fires off a personal attack it is easy to see these as banter with a fair amount of tongue in cheek.

Yes, shame about Norwood, good player slipped through the net. Still think we would benefit from another MF and definitely a CB.

Watching the Demolition Derby for the umpteenth time and just in awe of what MB and his team have achieved in such a short space of time.
Watch the goals again and you will see for the first Roofe is in space and looking for a pass to be slid into him. For the second Saiz is totally unmarked behind Roofe. The Roofe / Ayling move that Carson saves Pablo is on his own in the six yard box and Alioski joins him and for Alioski's goal again no marking.
This is what the system MB employs allows those players to do . find space.
The system allows your flair players to play while retaining a good defensive line.
Only two goals conceded and both from set plays.
It is the beautiful game Gents and I am loving it.

Agree white, talk sport today was praising our style of play, they interviewed Heck who had his say. Someone then started saying that Bielsa's teams are renowned for blowing up and not lasting the pace. Hope we prove them wrong, do think one of two extra players in wouldn't hurt.
