I'm with bw, Sevenoaks I always get home ticket on away games easier and yes I know you got to be careful of jumping around to much if we score but that dnt happen to often! Lol.

lucky my accent gets me away with most games only trouble is at wall when they know i'm a leeds fan so kind of lucky they always beat us there I guess last game I actually got pity instead of rage or anger which was far worse.

Done the same thing for years. If you go mental when we score, no-one gives you grief. Now I've said that, I'l probably get sparked out next time!

the closest I came to hassle was at palace. I knew a coach for palace who got us tickets for a fa cup game in the stand behind the goal, my step father got us into the ground late and we scored literlly the moment we sat down and went mental. at which point everyone started chanting sit down before we beat you up, so we sat down. Later on in the same game Nigel Martyn (who we just brought from Palace) save a penalty against them and my step dad had a burger thrown at him lucky for him they scored on the rebound. I think it was mainly banter and gentle food fight but that is the closest we came to aggro. I remember going to wimbledon the year we won the league and singing nic nack paddy wack give the dog a bone, wimbledon ain't got no home for the whole game. We was in the home stand but lucky for me (as I was 8 and not the greatest fighter) the stand was empty apart from one guy who I am pretty sure was a steward.

Morning All,

Was really pleased when we drew Watford as another London game, but really hacked off after spending an hour on to the site as soon as open to Gold Members to be advised all sold out.

I know I will be criticised for saying this, but think we are fielding the least playing talent in my 40 years of being a fan, but can still sell out 4,100 tickets before Gold Members get an opportunity. There is still massive passion to continue to support the club, despite what we see on the pitch and hear about in the management of our great club. We are a sleeping giant waiting to be awakened by fan or investor who can recognise the financial potential.

Away support is always going to be the indicator for size of club, as they will follow whatever (QPR away springs to mind) , but home crowds are more fickle and of recent times very poor. I can see why MC is hacked off when he sees the travelling support, but home crowds won't increase with the current crop of players.

Brighton is a really good example, I have been to a lot of games through work. They played at the tiny Withdean for a number if years which would not have been possible for the Leeds support, but are now getting 28,000 crowds. It just goes to show the return possible following investment in the playing squad and ground.

I just hope I can get a ticket for Brighton, I know there would be no chance if we had the quality of past teams.

dont think you will get slated at all, good post in my opinion with lots of sense. don't really think any one can argue that we have potential and are a sleeping giant. The club might be in some debt and not have assest such as ground. but we have amazing nation wide support (even as far out as the lovely sevenoaks which is where I use to play 11 a side but for my broken arm) .

have to say I don't agree about the least talent in squad. I know when we were in league 1 of course we were not doing as well however I do think we had a better squad so agree there however I think this current squad is better than the one when we first come down (butler, joachim, ricketts, brian deane at 89 ect. I don't think that team had any quality and was lucky to have sulivan who was a very good keeper) I also think the squad under NW (brown, white, green, tounge, bromby) was also poorer with only RM as a saving grace. However this said I don't think this sqaud is a million miles ahead so it is not like your statement is a million miles off.

Posted yesterday about people saying just this. Worst team in history of waxing Leeds. Warnock's side lacked talent all over the pitch. The wise side of Sweeney,Butler,Heath, much worse. The frustrating thing is with a couple of signings we could be o.k.

also you will be better off doing what I do Sevenoaks, for all London and midlands games I have to go in as home fan. I have never been able to get away ticket for games which is frustrating but understand as we do have great passionate away support and as much as i'd love to sit with them sitting in home stand is next best thing. I'm not far from you so if your ever going to game let me know as maybe meet up before for a drink as be nice to at least speak to leeds fan before game. at the millwall games I am with family and mates and normally get abused by passing leeds fans on bus which always makes me chuckle.

i know peter sweeney he was in my wifes year at school. He had a good left foot but not our greatest. My five a side team knocked his team out in the quaters of a local cup tourlement (we went on to win by the way. see I should of been pro)

BW - you may be right about Sweeney having a good left foot it's just a pity he's right footed 😀😀 - worst squad ever for me would be Bremners, the ones that really spring to mind would be Harle, Brown, Doig, Pearson, Melrose, De-mange and the tiny goal keeper we got from Forest .

Thanks very much for all the replies sorry for the delayed response I was working yesterday.

I've sat with the home fans in the past but can't imagine having done that at the QPR game this year when we were awful, but had a great laugh with the fantastic atmosphere created by Leeds away.

I thought I was a fanatic but your knowledge of past Leeds average players is amazing. Did Butler get sent off at the Withdean when we went to 9 men? I was sitting with their fans on that day through work, their corporate hospitality was a portacabin!

BW love to meet up for a beer, will be on line trying to get a ticket for Brighton.

Apologies for saying this on this site but am more of a rugby than a football fan (I have my Dad's heritage for the LUFC curse) , England haven't exactly been covering themselves in glory of late either. I can say though through rugby that I have heard the greatest song of all time played at Twickengam when Leeds beat Bath and at Old Trafford with the successful Leeds Rhinos.

Enjoy the rest if the weekend.

yeah sevenoaks will be at brighton game so hopefully sort soemthing out before hand. you don't have to apologise about being a rugby fan we all have our crosses to bear (I am a massive boyzone fan) .

good point about peter sweeny that must be why he didn't do so well at leeds being stuck on left wing. I remember when his team turned up they have a few players from gills, one from charlton peter and few others and were really good, lucky for my team safe hands cat ninja wasnt letting any thing in this day.

my wife was little dissapointed in me when they started speaking as they were good mates and I just gave him a cuddle, he looked at me like I was special (he has a point) and she just rolled her eyes and said he is a leeds fan and always cuddles ex-players when he meets them, your lucky last leeds player he met was at a funeral that was really awkward.
