Which one or two players from barnsley are better than we got? Bound to happen in summer.

14 Feb 2018 03:35:22
Their best players are Yiadom, Hammill and Bradshaw.

Not unless we can shift a few players out - we have no wage budget left to pay them.

. what's the odds of hecky been at the club in the summer still? Probably won't be. i'd say hammil, Bradshaw Marc Roberts maybe marlie watkins and yiadom

Would that be the same Morley watkins who plays for the canaries?

alfupper; now that’s the way to run a business spend all your money Radz should be asking questions, Orta out, can you name 15 players to go

Don't think Orta scouts in Barnsley unless he's looking at the Barnsley Sunday league and PH won't have a day on who we bring in.

Well we are all hoping Leeds make the playoffs but maybe a game too far now. maybe we all being a little impatient in the grand scheme of things re Radz plans. The one player a lot of people failing to mention is Yosuke Ideguchi Japanese international. Personally I think this guy is going to be the business to build around. Philips and O'Kane decent squad players but all to inconsistent, build the team around him and viera and could be going places. So maybe need to build and concentrate on the skilful industrious players we have. which to him can only really add Hernandez, Saiz and Viera. Fingers crossed.

Love to think you are right but i can't put much faith in a £500,000 buy unable to get a start in series B team being are saviour. Sure he will be decent and maybe better than some we have but some one to build a team round is a bit much me thinks.

He's struggling for game time at a club in the very lower half of te Spanish 2nd division, and cost us 500k, I wouldn't be expecting too much from him, that's just being realistic not pessimistic.

I think we should recall Ideguchi, he only used as a sub in a lower league team, he needs game time. Be good for PH to look and work with him for rest of season, to see if he the future. If he is that good, we could have a great midfield with Forshaw, Vierra, saiz. Then need a GK, CB, quality winger and maybe a big price striker and let lassoga go?

Lasogga is going anyway - he is only on loan this season.

Totally agree Shad. What good is Ideguchi doing warming the bench in Spain, may as well benchwarm here. Get to know the lads.

alftupper, just read that Lasogga May be staying and 75% of fans are in favour of this.

With a squad as thin ours you can't be without Saiz, Beradi, Phillips, Cooper, Ayling, O'Kane and have Vierra and Alioski having a dip in form as well without struggling a little bit. In addition Roofe is underperforming ( I hope he is otherwise he is just poor) and the Goal keeper is unreliable. Add to that De Bok is still settling and Pennington is just returning from injury. Apart from that the squad is fine.

Apart from that. that leaves lassoga, Forshaw and Hernandez. mmm. worrying!

Roofe is not a winger - playing him as one is a waste of time but that is not his fault

Thin squad ? What about the ka-gillion U23's LOL

Agreed Jay we have one of the smallest squads but radz thinks it's top heavy. Look at villa compared to ours?

My 18-19 ins and outs for the window based on performances this year. Ins, wied, ayling, coyle, jansson, pennington, shaugnessy, struijk, berardi, de bock, pearce, dallas, forshaw, vieira, phillips, klich, hernandez, saiz, alioski, lasogga, ekuban, roberts, sarkic, temenuzkhov. Personally think all of these players fit a good team and with 2/3 quality additions, another proven striker, another proven cb, and a back up goalkeeper, we genuinely could be laughing. We spent 9 million in january. Radz must be confident in PH to get us back to top 6 if he's invested that much in a squad then brought in someone new to coach them. Anything is possible, but its how realistic that we need to consider. Outs: everyone else really, not sure whos decision it was to make cooper captain this year but he started to live up to it until cardiff game, i don't think he's got it in him at the next level, he's not a boly, or a terry, or a shackell, he won't get us up. Pennington maybe witha fully fit defence around him, could do that job, still think we need 1 more CB though, steven caulker would have been good. so the outs, lonergan (id keep BPF in the 23's) cooper, anita, denton, okane, sacko, cibicki, wliks (needs more time) . all these players are underperforming imo and not ready to be in a championship winning team. Main issue is to keep hold of the best players. and keep everybody fit and start to field the same 11.

Not sure how u decided to keep klich and Pennington and not cooper. Pennington is on loan also don't forget. Doubt he will be there next season. Think I'd rather have cooper ahead of these guys and ahead of shaugnessy.

Agreee mostly, but I reckon Coops is doing at least as well (apart from the sendings off) as Pontus, who is having a real in and out of form season.

Agree2 Disagree1

13 Feb 2018 12:16:54
Cooper is League 1 at best. Probably having his best season with us and is still bang average.

Not a great season for cooper but still worth keeping as back up and obviously cause the players admire him. Keep him on bench for morale. Was wield really in the in section?

Can't decide to lose Denton and Wilkes. Unproven outside the U23s.

I'm hoping maybe this recent dip in form coincided with aylings injury. He has energy gets forward a lot. Breaks down attacks high up the pitch. We maybe missing him more than we think. Then obviously losing saiz for 6 games didn't help and then cooper Philips okane getting sent off as well and berardi is a big loss . All had a knock on effect. Hopefully once everyone is back and a full squad, except ayling out for season I know, there maybe an upturn. ekuban coming back gives us an option up front hopefully Roberts maybe in Contention also

He wasnt playing that well either si i'm thinking dip in form was due to tc and player malfunction.
