Well things are definitely looking better looked ok today some good signs of improvement happening lewis cook look outstanding I think he is going to have a big future. As for the position of head coach I personally wouldn't give it to redders as I think he is better suited to the academy where he is doing a mint job

Shakers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree Shakers, there are no easy games and we have no devine right to beat any team. The foundations are being set in place, the squad will improve the more they play together and we have other players to come in. Confidence is a wonderful thing and if we can stay unbeaten for a while who knows how good we could be. We are certainly looking better than the last two seasons and the beginning of this

Agree0 Disagree0

Cook IMO
Was good but gave ball away too many times, he's young but a fantastic prospect and will learn with EVERY game with Leeds we hope.

Nice comments vid-shakes the futures bright the futures WHITE :)

Of the current front runners in the betting I would plump for De Matteo who knows how to get flowing football and if he needs help in defence send for Lucas

Pleased with performance, passing and movement no panick and hoof it anywhere. Leeds better team on the whole (just) especially in the 2nd half, first half plenty of possession but no end product. Still unsure about our formation, need some wide options as playing through the middle only allows the other team to put a defensive wall in the way while saying get through us if you can because we know you can`t come round.

Everyone put in a good shift except Attenucci I thought he was wasteful, agree with other comments about subing him for Adryan. Felt sorry for Billy Sharp, again would have subbed Attenicci instead of him. I wonder if our system does`nt suit him as he is mor of a poacher and we can struggle to get the ball near opposition area a t the moment. Hope he gets a decent run still and plenty of goals.

Belluchi did okay but he has me thinking rubbish every challenge he makes, is he going to get a red card.

Lewis Cook, what a talent, Mowatt too, pleased to see Doukara back as he is classy.
Ruddy did well today (shock), but I don't think he is a 90 minute player as his legscan`t keep with pace of game for that long.

On the whole Leeds look a decent team, better than last two seasons; I think as season progresses and team gels we will only get better and better.

Only a draw today but I was pleased with the passing game. it bodes well for the future. skill plus confidence equals composure and with a bit more creativity/penetration in the final third wins will start coming.

credit the players for playing the ball on the deck when they could! we looked composed at times! Only problem was the final ball to the front men was delayed mostly hence a lot of the offsides! Hopefully we get a coach in place sooner rather than later who can work on what is encouraging signs! Let Redfern go back to the academy and continue his good work there!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree and hopefully lots more of that on the bench whenever needed. Keep it up Redders

yes passing the ball why players going towards each other wanting the ball where as before ball went to back 4 and everyone ran 30/40yrds away and then big boot up front not that good but in time wi'll get there just lacking goals saturday we should of won

Passing game was far better today than in previous games under previous coaches/managers. New squad, new style of football. Give it time and this will work. Not saying next week or week after. the first half let a lot to be desired. Having said that the passes were short, direct and fluent. but that second half was a joy to watch. Both LM's of brum, Shea and gray. Caused us the damage today. May have been a slightly different story had byram played. Optimistic for our season after today's performance. though.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

All that and Adryan to come - just like watching Brazil (the old Brazil not the rubbish at the last world cup)

I thought we lacked ideas first half and second half much more purpose when austin and souy came on but we are long way from finished product and defense way off what we need for this league at moment mot!

Impressed with the performance against Brum and I thought we deserved to win it. Midfield is way better this season. Sloth, Cook Bianchi Mowatt all looked class today. Work in progress :)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

My your easily pleased. They are a poor team and they should have beaten us. Although second half we were better and yes we are a work in progress.

Agree0 Disagree0

Brum worst team in this league, we made them look good. Plus is 2nd half we looked better. Give a bit of time for players to gel and a bit of zip in passing we could be on a roll.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - I said exactly the same mate. The first half felt like a friendly, once the changes came in the 2nd half Leeds should have won}

13 Sep 2014 19:40:20
Think we are well shot of Smith, obviously cannot hold his temper.

I thought Brown was bad but Smith seems to make a habit of deliberately getting sent off.

Like I said, well rid?

Just what Fulham "needed' lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think Smith has a temper. Nice lad. Wanted to stay at Leeds so stop being nasty about him. Whilst I think we now have better players than him, I hope he does well (except against us)

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah got striker one on loads of dosh! And the other trying to see how long he can stay off for lol! Perhaps cellino is still pulling their strings and told them to play c. p until end of season lol mot!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 Sep 2014 19:07:15
Good signs from today
1 - Redfern over Hockerday is a MASSIVE improvement
2 - We are passing - not perfect but passing and getting better as game went on
3 - For me no real star performance because most raised their game and we looked better for it
4 - Mowatt & Cook look more than capable and other Leeds youth in the squad
5 - Greater resolve and drive in team/squad to stay on the game and come back
6 - Terrific FAN'S say no more

Work in progress, others have said this but think progress applies today

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree with all of that Grabs - good post. The thing that's missing and which we need more than anything to be Prem contenders is PACE PACE PACE!
We're too pedestrian and laboured in our build-ups going forward to be really effective. I posted before we signed Sharp that he was too slow…today only underlined that. The lad Gray showed what damage speed on the ball can do.
Coming along nicely but we need more zip!

Got to admit I didn't see the whole 90 mins plus extras but saw about 50 mins thanks to Sky Go as I was on a promise.
Love the passing game but too many backward and sideways passes and then when we go forward we are too easy to read even against a rubbish team like Brum and we break down time and again.
Still a point away is a point gained.
Come on Redders make the job your own.
Even The Don had a few bad runs.

Okay, fair result Today.
Thought Antenucci looked good and wanted the ball. Austin DID make a difference for a change. Have to bear in mind the newness of the team! It is the championship and will take the players a few games to get up to pace as well as getting familiar with each other's play. Not going to happen overnight.
On the whole I have to say we look like we are definitely moving in the right direction and we certainly couldn't have said that this time last season!
I believe we have good times ahead fellow whites! MOT

GMAN Antelucci was like a headless chicken, caught offside around 10 times and not a yard off but 10yds offside.

Fair play Andy. Wasn't his best performance fella. Was more impressed with his commitment than timing! As we go on, if they all start showing that, we're going to do okay!
I'm looking on the positives and the direction, as a team were going in.

Opportunity missed today as Birmingham were for the taking. First half we had plenty of possession but lacked the quality ball in the final third and our midfield were too deep therefore offering little or no support to the strikers. Second half we improved with the introduction of Austin and Doukara who both gave us more pace and power (I know Austin!), and the midfield started pushing further up the pitch. I would have personally taken off Antenucci, although he had plenty of the ball he was extremely wasteful. Austin played well when he came on as he had the legs against a tiring opposition however Redfearn should not to lulled into starting Austin in the attacking midfield role because he runs out of steam. The introduction of Adryan at 1-1 could have helped us push for the winner but I appreciate that it could also backfire, although "he who dares wins"

I know redders doesn't want job permantly but what he has got which we havnt had for ages is the dressing room and good man managment

Better performance, but I have a great idea
lets spend a few weeks chasing a Brazilian youngster, get him, then leave him on bench.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Did he make the bench?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - IMO he should have replace Antenucci}

So your having a go at redders now!

Maybe Adryan isn't match fit yet?

Agree0 Disagree0

Adryan would have come on but the 2 changes redders made had a major impact so why introduce him while we were playing well and on the offensive, soory but don't rock a steady boat

13 Sep 2014 19:44:03
we got a draw when we were losing, not too bad, but we do need to do better against teams like this?

According to Redders he didn't bring Adryan on because he felt the team needed pace and power. Adryan being a more technical player in Redders opinion ;)

I see we are now being linked with James Beattie as our coach. Seriously he had a 27.5% win rate at Accrington Stanley. It is ridiculous and false economy to appoint a substandard coach. We are a great club, a one club city, we deserve a great coach with experience who can motivate and coach the players, one who can take us where we belong, back in the Premiership. People like Hocakaday, Beattie and Terry Potter are not good enough.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If you can get a better win percentage at accrington you must be decent

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree, seems like every manager/coach given the sack is linked with us, think Cellino won't make the same mistake twice, far better coaches than Beattie linked with us, just need Mass to make his mind up.

Did enough second half, think Redders hit the nail on the head when he said we need to be braver going forward! The only way this system will work.
Doukara made a massive difference coming on for Sharp who quite frankly looked like he didn't want to be there.
Don't quite understand Antenucci getting some stick, came looking for the ball and tried to make something happen, once again, unlike Sharp.

For Tuesday I'd bring in Byram, Doukara and Adryan for Berrardi, Sharp and Bianchi respectively, moving Sloth in to the more central role.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 Sep 2014 18:51:05

yes he looks comfortable on ball and the more we pass the ball we well get better and the score some goals that's all that is missing

13 Sep 2014 14:34:44
Never rated Sharp that much. He has to have everything on a plate to score his 10 or 12 goals a season. Not going to get at Leeds and most other places. That's why he is always on the move - one of those nomads that don't seem to settle anywhere. Done nothing since his first game. He gets in all the wrong positions if the team is under pressure. A luxury we can't afford at the moment as, if he is not scoring, he doesn't give us much else. On a more controversial note - liked the Birmingham lad Gray. One for England in a couple of years if he keeps his focus.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeah that gray terrified me every time he got on the ball

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe he is better as a game changer? He also has a new coach!

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Sep 2014 14:15:47
I'm sorry but Austin should not b playing he's utter rubbish takes to long on the ball and can't even do the basics right time to bench him for good!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What? Today he completely rejuvenated us when coming on for a player who barely touched the ball. Fair play on redfearn as well for both his subs added much needed urgency to our lacklustre slow game, that first half was probably the most boring first half I have watched other than an england game though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Austin and doukara lifted the team today whej they came on and I thought it was the best he played in a long time for leeds.

Agree0 Disagree0

What game were you watching? He won a lot in mid field allowing us to get more control. His passing was much better than most of the other players who were often wayward and his runs through the middle put Birmingham under pressure. Occasional lapses but nothing major. Sometimes some fans decide they like a player or don't like another and whatever they do the opinion remains the same. Some players can do no wrong and others can do no right irrespective of how they perform.

Only watched TV games this season but in all of them we never look like scoring I know we have in them but we so not look dangerous

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Do you think the boys are taking the passing game too far? There have been a number of occasions when I was hoping we would pull the trigger but opted to pass. That said happy with the result today - thought we should have taken all 3 points in the 2nd half! 1 point better than none! Work in progress - come on leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi peacock, I'm not sure I genuinely think it's the fact our diamond does get wide, I know it's designed for central play but we still need to drag players out of position to make gaps. At the moment it's too direct and the opposition defence remains very compact making it so we have to get "eye of the needle" passes we need to split them!

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Sep 2014 12:56:40
Bellusci- what a liability

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Got found out for the goal but wasnt any worse than Wooton. Thought Silvestri was VERY good but couldn't understand Antelucci staying on and Sharp coming off. Yes Sharp wasnt really in the game but that's ONLY because everytime Antelucci got the ball he NEVER looked for Sharp once. As for Anteluccis offsides he's old enough and more experienced to know after the first couple of offsides you time your run. (VERY POOR INDEED)
Sloth did ok i'm assuming he took him off as he was drained, Austin did ok when he came on and Dakoura looked a threat. Mowatt got better as the game went on, Cook the same did what he had to.
This was against Birmingham who are not the best but a point away from home you have to accept.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mowatt got better later on because he was 'freed up' by Austin ad Doukara coming on. Antelucci was Better when Sharp came off. Couldn't work out where Sharp was supposed to be playing. He wasn't there to hold the ball up up front, no aerial threat and that made it difficult for the others. Donaldson, on the other hand for Birmingham knew how to play that role and Sharp should have taken notes on how to do it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed Andy,
I think Sharpe and Doukara are our first choice pairing.

Byram Pearce Beluschi Warnock at back.

Mid is a minefield with potential talent pushing through but I would try Adryan or Montengro with Sloth Mowatt and Cook.
Improvement today again overall and unbeaten in 2 Redders keeping it nicely warm for GMac.
