Paynter played really well. You just wonder what would happen if the lad got confidence. If play him in every game until the end of the season to see what he can do

Believable10 Unbelievable4

Unfortunately Billy has taken thousands of pounds out of this club this season and not produced the goods untill it doesn't matter...

... lets hope this late showing will help us move him on...

he isn't Leeds and never will be, he just wants the easy life.

Agree6 Disagree10

In fairness to him he's been out on loan, costing nothing, and out injured for a long period. He's not been given much of a chance since then so surely we should be pleased he's taken his proper chance in a while by playing well and getting a couple of goals?

Agree6 Disagree2

We want to be in the premier league. is Paynter premier league?

Agree3 Disagree3

In fairness to billy, he didnt really get tje chance under grayson. Once sg decided he didnt like him he was left in the wilderness, maybe a bit of better man management and he might have played with more confidence and delivered the goods. Lets hope nw has revitalised the bloke.

Agree7 Disagree3

Beckford was horrible for a fair few years. It's all about confidence and good management. To the post talking about how billy has taken in wages. Get real pal! Billy is working hard and that's alot more than some. This is the guy that out scored beckford the year we got promoted. Take your chance billy and prove all the plastic Leeds fans wrong!

Agree8 Disagree1

Billy cant play any worse than Becchio has this season! Keep it up billy

Agree7 Disagree4

What a stupid comment saying" he wants an easy life". He ran his socks off today, Warnock said on the Radio interview that he has been excellent in training and that had been a contribution to him being picked .For one reason or another it hasn't worked for him while he has been here but he certainly looked up for it today.

Agree6 Disagree2

Paynter DID get his chances under Grayson, but didn't produce what was asked of him.

now he turns up in the 'last chance saloon' and decides he suddenly wants to be a part of it at the expense of those who HAVE given their all this season?

Move on Billy, plenty of barn doors to miss elsewhere.....

Even if he's on just 5 grand a week those two goals have cost our club around half a million pounds??

Agree5 Disagree5

Let's calm down for goodness sake, 3 goals in 2 seasons is shocking. He isn't good enough and is still on his way in the summer.

Agree3 Disagree5

Yeah lets calm down. Lets also compare him from yesterdays game to what Becchio has done this season. BP has been injured and out on loan this season so this is his first chance back now hes match fit. Let him play to the end of the season and judge him then. An while im at it, while he is wearing the white shirt HE IS LEEDS. I hope he proves you knockers wrong!

Agree7 Disagree1

Just like to say that billy did get a massive longer than necessary chance under sg.
having said that ross was dire as well until the end of last season and look how he started this term
neil will do the right thing

Agree2 Disagree0

Is Billy paynter premier league? No Are we near premier league? No so for now if he's scoring and playing well play the lad

Agree1 Disagree1

How has he taken money from the club?! He signed a contract. Its not his fault he wasn't playing. He's been on form for the reserves, and not getting games. I don't think it's fair to criticise any player for getting paid to do their job. He doesn't pick the team.

Did paynter actually do better than Becchio?

Believable12 Unbelievable1

Becchio replaced paynter for last 5 mins,

Agree6 Disagree0

Becchio managed to fall over within 5 seconds of coming on. Hard not to do better than him the way he's played this season.

Agree7 Disagree3

Becchio with one leg is better than Paynter.

Agree3 Disagree6

Becchio fell over cos he was worn out from warming up all afternoon !! there was a trench where he had been running !! lol

Agree2 Disagree1

Over the pas two seasons a dog with one leg would have been better than Paynter...

Agree1 Disagree4

I think Becchio plays on one leg the amount of times he falls over

Agree6 Disagree0

Becchio cant jump with two legs you turkey.
Billy gave him a lesson today. Lets see how this goes to the end of the season then we can comment on whos the best.

Agree6 Disagree1

As players there is no comparison.
just coz becchio has hit the net every game does mean hes gone at the game.
he wins the ball

Agree0 Disagree3

Becchio has hit the net every game???
You obviously havent been to many games this season mate. Becchio has scored exactly ten goals this season in 39 games, 14 of which he was substituted.
Yesterday was Paynters first start with three subs appearances.
Think about it.

Agree4 Disagree0

Becchio with 1 leg... Eeuugh I shudder at the thought

Another clever touch by NW. Knowing how the Leeds fans feel/used to feel about Barn Door, he takes him off with minute to go so he can be individually applauded by everyone in the ground except for the Posh fans that is.

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Correct. well assessed.

Agree8 Disagree1

Thats not clever. Thats standard fare.

Paynter for England!

Believable6 Unbelievable3

I'm Irish so I hope so!

Agree11 Disagree4

Being a Scots man, I'm agreeing with the Irish lad! BP for Ingerlund!

Give Paynter A NEW Contract please, he's fab

Believable8 Unbelievable4

Sell him while he's hot!

Agree6 Disagree3

He was up against a poor defence. He scored five in two games against us - another poor defence. He doesnt do much when up against decent championship teams. Dont tell anyone though they might not buy him!!!

billy scores 2 goals, and NO this aint a rumour :O

Believable7 Unbelievable0

True leeds fans should give billy paynter some credit admittedly hes had a real stinker of a 2 years at leeds, but the lad has never given up and he had the chance to leave last summer an refused this maybe billys turning point. Well done billy

Agree5 Disagree2

I was only joking, ive never rated him even before he came he only had one good season with Austin as his partner at Swindon, you never know if him and Ross can do the same, while hes in a leeds shirt if he scores goals i dont care who scores them

Agree2 Disagree0

Why should we pay this guy hundreds of thousands of pounds for sitting on his ar$e and the resign him and do the same for the next three years just because he produces two goals when we don't need them any more?

Lets get shot of him and buy someone who is gonna work for our team ALL the time......?

Agree4 Disagree6

How can he work hard for the team when he isn't in it FGS! Give him a break, as he certainly put himself around today and took the chances he had well enough.

Agree2 Disagree3

Lets see how many clubs rush to sign him,my guess is a few from div 1/2

Leeds need to buy in the summer:
Maybe a second goalkeeper

A right back and Tom Lees for back up
In my opinion 4 centre backs including O'Dea
Robbo signed permanently for left back Aidy White back up

Snodgrass for right midfield
Clayton, maybe Brown and 2 new centre midfielders
1 new midfielder for the left hand side
Nunez and Webber can play anywhere whatever formation

McCormack and Becchio and 1 new Lacey upfronter on the bench!

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Not good enough...simple.

Agree2 Disagree0

Just re - read it, thats nine new players, thats fair enough ctually

Not going today. Not going for the rest of the season either. I'm not going to waste my money when I could save it for next year and get myself a season ticket.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Understand your feelings mate, if Warnock and Bates show some ambition over the summer I will be getting my first season ticket ever after supporting Leeds for 45 years....

but only 'IF'

.. looks like we both missed Warnocks first good home game though...

How I think Leeds should look next season

LCB- Danny Gabbidon
LB – Aidy White
CDM – Michael Brown
RM/W – Robert Snodgrass (capt)
CM – Adam Clayton
RM/W – Vicente Rodríguez
ST – Ross McCormack
ST – Luciano Becchio

Subs to chop and change:
Ramon Nunnez
Zac Thompson
Tom Lees
Charlie Taylor
Andy Lonegran
Davide Somma
Dominic Poleon
Robbie Rogers
Monty Gimpel

Believable1 Unbelievable11

I hope not.

Agree4 Disagree0

Lol that team looks worse than the current one, god I hope it looks nothing like that.

Agree3 Disagree0

Concentrate on Huddersfield now Simon. You're not the manager of Leeds anymore.
