Not sure why there is a fuss about Saiz going to be honest. From a footballing perspective no loss, gives the ball away cheaply at times, to theatrical and emotional, always likely to do something stupid or get a silly booking and goal threat limited. Now if it was Pablo, KP, Roofe, Clarke, Klich, Bamford, Pontus, Baby Shack, Douglas, Ayling or Forshaw I would be very disappointed. Last season he was a half decent player in a poor team, now he's still half decent but in a very good team and the word team is the important thing. Good luck to him in Spain. move on.

Suppose we could go back to Chelsea and see if we can get Fabregas in on loan till the end of the season.

It's a funny ole game. The best two sides I've seen this season apart from Leeds are Brentford and Swansea and the Bees especially are struggling. That's the Championship I suppose.

I wonder how homesick Saiz and his missus would be if he played for Manchester City or Liverpool? 😞.

Donny Boy Depends if he lived in the area. If he did, his homesickness would've been amplified. Atrocious cities each.

I think this is what Saiz is like, a very emotional player who perhaps has only ever realized his potential in spurts. In his early days he was seen as a real potential star. It hasn’t quite happened and I wonder if that’s not down to his personality. I’m sad to see him go, Bielsa said before that He is a special type of player and although frustrating he really was skillful and we would have used him even from the bench.

I’m interested to see how the players respond to his absence tomorrow, in terms of morale but also who steps up. Even with him on the bench, there was always the feeling he could come on and be magic, not anymore! Until Brown proves himself, Hernandez is even more important to the side.

One more point on Getafe, I think the opportunity arose because they have had a couple of season long injuries. I hope they don’t take the loan and then send him back in the summer!

Good point Danum, if he is going it should be permanent transfer, no loan deal.

I've said a few times that if the lad was that good, how come he was still plying his trade in the Spanish second division and the Championship? Having said that, he is brilliant when he wants to be, unfortunately, he didn't want to be brilliant often enough. Good luck to the young fella :)

This is a good move for him, middle table, Top division in Spain, a chance late in his career to be up against the big boys. A frustrating player. I had hoped his Leeds legacy would be greater than this. Still think it’s easy to underestimate the impact he had in the opposition, he scared teams and needed to be marked and kicked out of games. We need to show we can replace him. Hernadez and Jack Clarke, can provide a bit of fear factor until Izzy is full steam!

AL that's not a good argument for any player. Look at cards as prime example.

I think there is more to the Saiz story than just being home sick. To be half a season away from playing in the 'best' league in the World - why jump ship now?

It will not be just his decision Sherb i am guessing his family have some input as well. Fair play to the guy he does not want to be here and been straight and man enough to say it.

But he agreed a contract. He should honour that contract. He and his family were aware of what he was signing. Don’t get me wrong. On his day he is a good player. For me, he doesn’t have enough good days so I’m happy for him to go, at the right price.
But.
He should not just say I want to go home without paying some sort Of compensation.

Sometimes if your attitude is such, it's just down to a hurt ego. He believes he is the best player at Leeds but his boss doesn't agree. Being dropped can be a big blow and not everybody has the "right i'lle show them" attitude. Rather than fight for there place they would rather fly to places new where they can be lauded as top dog.

Leeds decided to let him go. As far as I’m aware he never put in a transfer request so good luck to the lad. As for him paying compensation what are you in this week ausman.

Saw one report that Saiz has asked to leave, regardless of if he did or not be is on his way out of the door. The speed of his departure suggest that this is nearer the truth and Bielsa is not willing to keep a player around who isn't committed to the club. Siaz has played some good games for the club and I thank him for that but won't be losing sleep on him going. The door now opens for someone else to get a chance and be a hero.

Been trying to scour the Spanish press for news on Saiz. One article quoting sources very closely to Getafe was very confident of a deal being sorted and agreed by this weekend, in principle. They are talking possibly about a 6 month loan followed by a purchase.

That loan angle has also been mentioned by Adam Pope but he described that as being complicated. Lots of talks going on yesterday apparently, which is where the leak seems to have come from. Saiz played for Getafe B and also had one game with Getafe in the first division, so does have links with the club. Everybody seems to agree he's homesick and we don't want to force him to stay.

He will be a loss to the squad, very skillful player, who occupies the minds and bodies of opponents, but one who needs to be happy. I would imagine Bielsa would want this dealt with quickly now and wouldn't be surprised if it's all clarified before Bolton.

It must be a sale, loan to buy is no good because knowing our luck he'll get injured in his first game.

When he goes, are we going back for a look at that Madison lad? He seems to have fallen off the radar since the close-season, don't know if he's crocked or what.

With you Al must be a straight sale in Jan no messing with loan to buy. Board seem to be good at quick sales. Shame good player.

How about yaya on a free for 6 months. Think of that experience. I believe he is a free player now.
