I posted a few days ago that Rachubka would be our No1 with one of the youngsters No2 and that no major signings would come in except a couple of free agents as squad players - remember - and that to all the people that would hit the disagree button to watch this space - well keep watching - I hate to say I told you so - but - I told you so

Believable4 Unbelievable7

Oh dear - still some optimists I see - ok , time will tell - I hope I'm wrong but Bates is too predictable

Agree1 Disagree3

The transfer window has way over a month to go yet.. just cos we have played a pre season game doesnt mean we arent now going to look to strengthen. bates and grayson have said were looking for another GK and at lease 1 more CM so does leeds a favour and support sum1 else you pesimistic arse hole

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree fully...

Agree0 Disagree0

Like I said - time will tell you optimistic arse hole

Lets face it people, Allan Smith's not coming back. If he was it would have happened by now and by the way, what happened to the so called number of options we supposedly had once Kasper was sold. So far no sign of any good signings just geriatric unwanted rejects on free transfers. Also no new contracts signed yet by Gradel and Snoddy. I for one am extremely disappointed at the lack of ambition we've shown. This is Leeds United for god sake.

Believable6 Unbelievable3

My take on it is Smith knows that the match going fans particularly away fans still hold a grudge, this being the case his team would be in overdrive (if a move back to ER was on the cards) to do some damage control and talk the fans round etc As their is no information from his representitives or Smith at all (talking about a move back) I dont believe their is anything in it at all. KB is using the PR to either bring other players to the club by banding his name about i.e looking like we have ambition or using it as a smokescreen to bring in other targets throwing other clubs of the scent so to speak. Afterall we do other than negativity over a player do our transfer dealings in private why would that change now. KB has received alot more memberships/St's off the back of this speculation, his game has indeed worked very well.

Agree6 Disagree1

Id rather loans then allan smith, at least they'd be match fit hahaha

Agree6 Disagree1

Gradel and Snoddy will be waiting to see what big signings we are getting before the season starts....hence they are both now looking for other clubs

Agree3 Disagree6

Rather have brown than smith anyday.

alot of leeds fans will dissagree with me here but its just my opinion so hold back on the abusive comments If we were to buy eremenko which apparently hes training with us this week, then why not cash in on gradel? He going to leave on a free next season anyway... Ramon nunez is a perfect replacement for him on the wing. Midfield- snodgrass, brown, howson, eremenko, nunez Then with the money for gradel we could buy some pretty decent defence I think would be a clever move

Believable2 Unbelievable5

He may prove as beneficial as Beckford before he left. I agree we need to get him to sign a new cotract but even if he doesnt we need to hold onto him for another season.

Agree7 Disagree0

Nunez isnt a winger though so how would he replace gradel? he plays behind the striker ideally. and the self made replacment would be sam? a midfield then of.... snoddy sam howson brown nunez 1 striker

A few hundred actually but at least we were there on a wed night, if smith comes he will divide the fans and the players he's not worth it we need to stick together. just cast your mind back smith saying he would never go to man utd then months later kissing the scums badge thats to much to takr didn't take him long to get over it but hey most of the ones who want him back at least you won't have to see him in the shirt that often cos you never go oh forgot some of you work part time.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

The bulk of Smith fans appear to be either young, not match attending 'fans' or those that live outside of Yorkshire and dont get/understand the Rose rivallry

Agree8 Disagree1

Anyone wishing to split the fanbase by begging a mercenary to return need to question whether they are in fact fans and want whats best for leeds...

Agree6 Disagree1

I dont get to many united games as i live in Townsville Australia but i do travel to leeds every year and watch all the games i can. i believe any true LEEDS Lover would want whats best for LEEDS regardless of the players past errors. If smith is the man to take leeds forward then so be it if not then so be it BUT GET OVER THIS PATHETIC BULL s**t ABOUT HIM BEING A SCUMMER. WE ALL LOVE LEEDS.MOT

Agree1 Disagree3

14 Jul 2011 18:56:41
why are people getting so high and mighty just because you've been to more games or got to away games doesn't make you a clever know it all
I go to games regularly the only reason I don't get to many away games is I don't drive and I only work part time. We are all Leeds fans why all the infighting? MOT all of you
As for Smith - a few thousand at a Scottish friendly are not representative of my feelings and I'm not stupid enough to think my views are the gospel so why should anyone think their views are superior? think we should agree to disagree and respect free speech.
Sorry but that's really rattled my cage Ed

Believable1 Unbelievable6

I was at barnsly away, shouting about the two goals we did manage to score. Are you tellin me smith is worse than brads or killkeny now left? No he isn't he has quality, wort a season. Unfortunately it ain't happening IMO. Wages too much to deal with, get emerenko in. MOT.

Agree1 Disagree5

Quality on the treatment table yeah thats helpful, in that respect Bradley and Killa would offer more and be more involved.
Those that attend more games it cant be argued they invest more into leeds, and will obviously know more about leeds as a team as they actually watch them. How many times are we on the TV a year 4 times? You cant gain enough insight listening on the radio or 4 telivised games, to say you know the same about the team as a regular match goer

Agree4 Disagree0

Quality? I think thousands of Geordie fans would argue otherwise and they are bound to know more then us

Federico Bessone was not involved in last night's game against Falkirk as an offer came in for him yesterday which the club accepted.

Newcastle United have identified Bessone as the solution to their left back problem after their move for Neil Taylor of Swansea collapsed.

Also, I can confirm that David Stockdale will be signing for Leeds on a year long loan when he returns from Northern Ireland tomorrow.

Further signings to happen soon:
- Eric Lichaj
- A new LB
- A new CB
- 1/2 new midfielders

Believable4 Unbelievable3

So whats the source of these rumours?just checked all the usual sites and theres nothing on any of em, unfounded rumour yet again.

Agree0 Disagree3

If he's not good enough for Leeds in the Champ, why would he be wanted by Newcastle when they have Enrique? TOOL

Agree2 Disagree0

And were do you get tis from

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe we could do a straight swap with Enrique, obviously he is not up to the same standard as Bessone but maybe we should just do a straight swap to help the toon out... I am sure Enrique would love to resurect his struggling career with us

Agree2 Disagree0

Do u think danny Shittu would be a good signing from qpr hes a solid experianced defender think he would do us a good job at the back with his presance what do you all think

Believable5 Unbelievable2

14 Jul 2011 17:08:44
The reaction of us die hard leeds fans last night has hopefully convinced smith to stay away we don't want him we are the true fans that matter travelling the country week in week out to follow our great football club not making stupid excuses why you can't attend elland rd

Believable9 Unbelievable3

Do me a favour, get over it, I don't care who he played for, he should be judged on ability, if he is still good enough and will improve us fair enough , if not fair enough, that wasn't supporting the team, how do you think the players felt about it....

Agree3 Disagree7

How do you claim to be a 'die hard' Leeds fan, some of us have been around for 40 years oplus, and I for one would welcome Smithy back...........

He would die for Leeds, before WE threw him out, so don't blame him....

You obviously ain't old enough to realise how Smith was forced to leave Leeds otherwise you wouldn't be posting this crap...

Agree2 Disagree7

I don't care who he played for, he should be judged on ability>>>>>> Exactly He is not good enough to put on our famous white shirt he's injury prone and would demand to much of our wage budget. Take the Scum connection away and he's still not wanted>>>>>He would upset the stands and the dressing room with his ego I say lets think about the young hungry players we could get instead of ''1'' old injury prone mediocre DFM. He is a gamble and one that would most likely not pull off. Our season would suffer and SG's job would be on the line. Be realistic whites

Agree5 Disagree0

Die for leeds? He REFUSED to return on loan when we desperately needed him, even after sir alex agreed to the loan. He opted to fight in manchesters reserves rather than fight relegation with us. And he wasn't thown out at all, its well known he wanted the move to Manchester and the backroom staff told him to go for it if he wanted to despite fans reactions on the move. For being a fan for 40yrs you certainly dont know much.

Agree5 Disagree0

It tickles me that you all agree with your own posts several times

Agree4 Disagree2

Yaaaaawn god king sized scratching post required for a few on here lol I'm sorry if it pisses u off but im not going to back down I am a Leeds fan and a Smithy supporter woo controversial whatever people as are all entitled to our opinions

Agree0 Disagree3

It tickles me how short some people's memories are. As soon as we were relegated from the Premiership, Smith was making noises about himself being "too good for the Championship", this was before he even went to scum. It's about time some people realise Smith is no different to any modern day footballer, ££££ signs mean more to him than the white shirt ever did. This ridiculous romantic notion that Smith would love to come back even on a paltry wage is just bollocks.

What makes me laugh more than anything is that for the last couple of seasons Smith was at Leeds he was probably the most overrated footballer on the planet. He's not even worth all this nonsense that we hear every single transfer window Even when he's retired from playing (which should be soon considering his fitness and usefulness) there'll probably still be idiots on here wanting him to come back as manager

AAAAAARGGGGGGHHHHHHH

Alot of Leeds fans want alan smith to return, however since smith kissed the man scum badge when he scored, that did it for me. MOT

Believable9 Unbelievable2

Now look here I have mates who support that team and none of them remember him doing that and believe me if he had they wouldve rammed it down my throat
I'm sure if that's true the editor can post a link

Agree1 Disagree6

Never happened seen the goal seen what he did afterwards when he ran to the fans and Kissing the bag was not one of them believe what ever you like if it makes you feel good but I have seen it and again it never happened

Agree2 Disagree5

He didn't kiss the scum badge though - time and again this is raised and time and again, no proof is forthcoming

It was an away match in Europe I doubt your frinds just happened to be in attendance

You want it not to have happened, and how do you know when specifically it happened? He was there for 4/5 yrs doubt you watched every game. Arent you a leeds fan? If you have then I think your claiming to support the wrong team

if alan smith is reading these posts, i genuinly hope he does sign for leeds, as a lad he was an inspiration to us all, watching him take off that leeds shift and wrap it round him in tears the day we were relegated showed all of us the heart and soul he put into the club, he's a leeds lad through and through, even upon leaving the club he's still there to watch over us, and is continuing to show us his support. smith, if you are reading. your wanted show us to the promise land, and get us back in the big time we need you

Believable3 Unbelievable9

You need urgent counselling, ALL the Leeds players were in tears that day, "hes watching over us", how very twee, if he was good enough he would be welcomed back but he aint, leave him in the past, kissing the scum badge shows the respect he has for Leeds, overpriced and overrated, let it be.

Agree8 Disagree3

He looks out for manutd scores first and has MUTV......speaks volumes no

Agree4 Disagree0

You need urgent counselling
they certainly do, scary

Agree4 Disagree0

As if smith cares enough to be reading this :D

Agree4 Disagree0

WRONG
HE WAS WEARING A BOLTON TOP WHEN WE GOT RELEGATED
YOUR ALL MAKING UP THIS FANTASY STORY THAT DOENT EXIST
POLISHING A TURD COMES TO MIND
HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT THE REASON HE WAS SO UPSET IS BECAUSE HE WAS MOVING AWAY FROM HOME, HIS FRIENDS AND FAMILY? THOUGHT NOT

its a little worrying that every other team outthere are announcing signings and we are announcing the appointment of a new patron i feel its gonna be a long dissapointing season if we were gonna make any signings of any significance we would of had a sniff by now no matter how quite we do our business

Believable1 Unbelievable3

I thought that when I turned on SSN this morning :D

Who would you choose to replace gradel if he left?
Would you choose to use Lloyd Sam or Nunez or would you buy someone and use the profit elsewhere. I think we have a wide variety of wingers- Sam Nunez or we could buy watt or hamill (he is unsettled at wolves)?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Get victor moses from wigan. he's barely player for them.

Agree1 Disagree1

He's not going so not relevant.

Gradel isn't going anywhere, get over it

ITS OFFICIAL: Just had a text from the OS smith has returned to Leeds united on a 2 year deal

Nothing on the OS or on YR more rubbish

Believable3 Unbelievable13

Oh great, 143 games played for Scum and Newcastle and 7 goals scored, that equates to 1 goal every 20 games, great strike record eh.

Agree5 Disagree1

An ex-striker that scores less than Paul Robinson LMAO

Masisela deal to Leicester off as they got Konchesky, don't understand that one Masisela is a very good left back, would love us to sign him up..

Believable3 Unbelievable0

This is true but Paul is well suited to the English game and the perfect style of defender for the CCC. Sky have reported today that he was LCFC 1st choice and when they found out about Marseila they dropped his valuation by 70%. I think they have got a right bargain

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair point, but it seems to me we've got an opportunity here to get a fairly young, internationally experienced left back (which we sorely need) who is desperate to play in England...Seems like an absolute no-brainer, these are the type of deals we all too often miss out on, I've seen the lad play on more than a few occasions (despite the fact I spelt his name wrong, it's Masilela), and he's quick and can properly defend. Come on KB & SG, make this one happen...

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Jul 2011 11:18:16
His contract with Leeds expires next June, however, and he looks increasingly unlikely to agree an extension to that deal. West Ham are looking to exploit Gradel s contractual situation but Leeds refused to succumb to the bid which arrived from Upton Park this week.

West Ham are now considering whether to test Leeds resolve by increasing their offer to around the £3million mark, a figure which sources in London believe would tempt the Yorkshire side to negotiate a deal. (Source YEP)

Can this window get any worse :(

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Bates wont sell cheap
he valued snoddy at 8 million, max 10 million ?

Agree2 Disagree1

Can this window get any worse :(

What????? Don't believe it untill club anounces it. Keep the faith

Agree1 Disagree1

H emay have to sell him cheap if he won't sign an extension, 3M would be good for someone with only 1 year left

Agree0 Disagree2

14 Jul 2011 11:05:24
Is it me or does anyone think the same way that, for a man with Bates' business skills it's crazy that we sign players on alleged low wages then only give them a 2yr deal.

Some line Snoddy, Gradel, Becchio amongst others have been fantastic and are worth many times more than we paid for them.
If we going to be tight with wages (not necessarily a bad thing in these times) then sign them up for 3 or 4 yrs avoiding Beckford, Johnson, Killer scenarios and getting some cash in to grow the club and improve the team. I reckon we lost about £3m on Becks and £3m this summer too-hardly good business

I mean if they no good or out the team they hardly gonna
stay just to pick up the bucks

Believable2 Unbelievable1

14 Jul 2011 09:38:04
Where are all these stupid Rumours coming from about Owen hargreaves joining Leeds, and ken bates is ruining Leeds united, he don't want to pay premiership wages

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Let's get it straight boys Hargreaves isn't going to sign he probably still thinks he has a chance of playing for England again deluded as that may be. But he'll def want a premier club to come in for him

Agree1 Disagree0

Can see him going abroad

Agree1 Disagree0

Wouldn't want him anywhere near Elland Road. Overrated and never fit - very much like his mate Smith

Agree2 Disagree0

14 Jul 2011 08:54:55
rumour has it that west hams bid is 1m pounds in (star) if thats the case its disrespectful and bates shud tell them where to shove it. the boys looked ok last night couple of decent additions and we will b promotion candidates
