I too have been a fan since 1964. My parents had the local paper delivered at that time. As an impressionable young lad just learning about football, I read the sports pages before going to school. The YP was a Leeds based paper and carried lots of articles on LUFC. I read every word written and as I did LUFC got into my bloodstream, where it has circulated my body ever since. People have called me mad. deluded. crazy because of my enthusiasm for LUFC. This is my club, whichever league we are in I will support through good and bad. I can't understand people being negative. what good does whingeing do. Give support then Mr Cellino will realise that we truly are a great club. with fantastic supporters. and we are worth investing more of his money in. Each new season is exciting, this year is even more so given all that has happened so far. AP could be the masterstroke as I don't think Mr Cellino will be with us all season due to his pending cases. With AP in charge we will stay on the rails. So LUFC please get excited about the season ahead, get that Leeds blood flowing. MOT.

Great posts chaps, genuine comments. This is what happens when you look at our situation in a positive way, yes there are a few things that need addressing but we are making headway and MC has to be praised for this but I think the real change is down to Pearson, MC is listening to him and it shows. Those couple of appointments in Pearson and Uwe was a good move on MC's behalf and it is showing good signs already. it is great reading the comments today, my whole point before, negativity breeds negativity!! And just remember if we were perfect we would have nothing to talk about, and there would be no excitement, you can keep your Chelseas's Man City's and Man Utd's who spend ridiculous amounts of money and finish the season empty handed, give me Leeds any day!!

Heres some positives.
An owner who believes we should be in premiership and willing to invest.
A new management structure who will sing from the same sheet, hopefully Pearson will buy out GFH.
Sylvestri, young talented, future Italy no1
Horton highly regarded, future USA no1
Huffer future England no1
Byram future England right back.
Coyle immense talent will challenge soon.
Cooper young and still learning but has class.
Del Fabro excellent player, young will be pushing for first team soon.
Taylor great young player anywhere on left.
Cook definate talent will go far.
Mowatt class will improve.
Phillips star of the future, will be big name at Leeds.
Sloth very good player not allowed to show his ability, can play a part.
Montenegro, class but not picked. great option up front.
Bianchi, accurate passer, breaks play up will figure.
Antennuci will score goals in a front three.
Also think Cellino is willing to pay good money for the right striker and midfielder to add to team.
Bamba contract agreed but not signed off yet sso are we still looking for another option.

Absolutely spot on Bige, the positives far out way the negatives and since I posted my little rant at negativity followed by your comments, Mad Micks and a few others it's all starting to sound a lot more positive. We are in such a good place at the moment and we are far better off than a lot of clubs chasing the prize we are. We also have to remember we are building for a solid future so it's important to recognise the fact that although we want to be in The Premiership we must be ready for it and not come straight back down, look at QPR!! Great post though Bige, nice one mate.

agree %100. We have always produced talent and at the moment there seems to be a lot of it. Another lus you missed was redders back at academy. He was average manager but is amazing at this role and must be one of the best in the country if not europe? Cook reminds me of gazza and mowatt reminds me of Lampard hope we keep both. Only thing I don't agree on is bryam. don't really rate him and think he is good at best and maybe not prem class let alone england. Hope I am wrong though and either way not felt this good for a while

These are good posts. Don't forget Dawson. I think they are bulking him up for this season. I expect him to get more game time. More signings are needed.

Good post BIGE, when you see it listed like this it makes you realise what great quality we have in the squad. Could be a good season and if it is I believe it will be down to the good management structure now in place. I think the best signing will prove to be Adam Pearson.

I do rate Byram but can see why some don't as he's not pushed on from the season before last. I think he's solid in all departments though and will improve again.

Think Byram got comfortable and do not think he will have that option with Rosler who is not scared of changing things and likes to use his subs. Always plays within himself which to me means he has more to offer.

Hugo Rodallega been released by Fulham. Not sure if he played for Rosler at Wigan or not but would be a decent signing IMO and could do a job for us on our shiny new pitch complete with advanced sprinkler system!

He started off last season in great form at Fulham with 9 in 17 games but the wheels came off soon after. On that basis, maybe we should offer him a four month contract!

Great post Woody67. We are moving in the right direction. Mr Cellino may not be perfect. May make mistakes but he has passion and drive. He is also a successful business man and wants to create a self financing structure not a white elephant that needs money chucking at it just to exist. Exciting times ahead.

Top man, thanks. As for the new season I for one am more excited than I have been for years as to what could be, with new players coming in and a Manager wanting to prove his worth we could be in for a flying start especially as we have started recruiting early.

Since I've been on this site there has been a lot of comments posted and a lot of it negative in a jokey way, but since we seem to be moving forward and MC doing the right things the jokey negativity is now turning into serious picky silly comments. There is a comment further down about who we are playing pre season and how crap they are! First of all it helps fitness, it also puts something back into the community awhile promoting LUFC, and further more who did we play pre season the season we were the Champions of the last league 1 before it became the Premier! Also who did we play in pre season the season we got into the Champions League Semi Final? If you don't know have a look, you might be in for surprise!! We have been saying we want this and that, MC is moving forward not backwards, with this in mind can the serious cynics please remember the words to our song MOT, it's great to have banter but it's boring especially when it has no substance, Ausman, Mad Mick and a few others make spot on comments it's just a few others that would only be happy if it rained everyday and LUFC went out of business!! Sorry if I have offended but it had to be said and for the record my comments aren't perfect and neither am I but I'm Leeds through and through!!

That's all fine but some of us are sick of being used like idiots by lufc. mc.gfh. and any other number of so called . "owners". Leeds supporters have been used for years as cash cows. Pay thru the nose to bee served up with complete dross . oh for someone to put real money and ambition in to this club. Get out of this league and move on. look at what teams like derby are doing. or Bournemouth did. loans and forgettable signings will not get anywhere.I'm not a supporter of mc I must admit.I think he's a lying crook who like the rest just bleeds us dry. sorry if people don't see things the way I do . I've been watching leeds since my 1st game in 1964.I've never felt as sick of the situation as I do nw

Mike, I think the main reason some posts are a bit mickey taking and hopefully humorous is that during times when not a lot is happening the only thing we can do is try to have a bit of a laugh.
This usually takes the form of taking the pee out of ourselves, which us Leeds fans have always been good at (and long may it continue)
After all the definition of banter is: to exchange remarks in a good humoured and teasing way. :-)

We will always have fans who will see the negative side but they are entitled to their opinions. I remember when Collins joined us and there was a debate in the Dog and Gun taproom and one guy said we will get nowhere with a midfield full of midgets, the rest is history. Bournemouth went up without spending big, Derby got some premiership players in and are still in the championship, says it all. All I ask is that the new coach and any new players are given the time to succeed and we are not calling for their heads after four or five games. We need to be united as a club. If GFH were not here I think Cellino would invest more but he will not while they sit on their hands.

I absolutely agree with you Bige and I totally understand what Danumwhite says and I love this site for the banter and after all our years of hardship it is a release to have a joke at Leeds United but it's the other stuff where MC gets slated then he does something right and they have to find something else and then something else, if all we have to worry about is Pre season games then we have moved on from last season. Also what's that all about SLUFC, were not being treated like idiots, maybe when Master Bates was in charge but not now and if that's how you feel, don't go, it's your choice if you feel your a cash cow stay at home!! Go and watch Sunderland who spent well on £50 Million and have been fighting relegation or maybe Liverpool who spent over a £100 Million and have nothing to show for it, I think their supporters have a bigger gripe about being cash cows! Nobody makes us do things, yes we have an opinion and rightfully so but come on, this is the most exciting pre season we have had for years, new manager, MC is like a new Chairman, clumsy mouth but heart is Leeds, new players not old and knackered but promising youth and that's where our success will come from. Just remember where we were 7 years ago, and be thankful of where we are now. MOT.

SLUFC
I've also been supporting since 1963/4
Me memory probably isn't what it was, but I can definitely remember worse times than this. MUCH worse!
I think the signs so far for next season look promising, def better than any time since the bearded one came onto the scene

have to agree with speedy, I have only been fan since 89 as I am a young pup but I know lots of times I have felt worse, bates was all time low off field and how many of our current crop would make all time bad leeds team, none so things on pitch can't be that bad either

MikeWoody, good posts. It is getting more positive but more quality is required. Let's not get ahead of ourselves until our business in the window is done. Cellino is still a lunatic but it seems Pearson and Uwe are his meds.
