How very nice it is to hear Mr Harvey and the FL are going to sit down with the Villa top dogs and discuss how they can help them. How about docking them 15 points for starters? Oh wait . it's AVFC not LUFC ;)

Harvey has always hated Leeds, one of Bates most bizzare appointments.

Bielsa reportedly already watched hours of tape on each one of leeds' players. I like the sound of that!

Just like TC did. I like the sound of him already, just hope to god he turns out to be more of a ruthless person that TC. I liked TC but he didn't seem to have a nasty or authoritative side to him

I bet he thought that he had been sent a Chuckle Brothers boxset

Lol Canada! I think we are going to get a revolution on the same scale as Sgt Wilko delivered, and can't wait for it to get started! On, on, on!

poor guy. at least he will be able to empathise with what we all went through last season.

Not been on here for a long time due to other priorities. Time for LUFC to either put up Bielsa or move on? Too many available players going elsewhere if the worse happens. Unless Bub happens, next season will probably end up even worse than this one

14 Jun 2018 16:49:41
I take your point about missing out on players mate, but I'm not sure I agree with the "even worse than this season" bit. If Bub doesn't sign, it's still possible (likely? ) that it'll be a big name (bigger than TC and Hecky) .

Can’t see him wanting many of the current transfers, if he does join then he probably already has a shopping list for Orta of players that he knows or worked with before, let’s hope Orta doesn’t think he’ll find them in Poundland

Hey Bootsy, did you mean Peanut Land?

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jun 2018 06:59:20
Possibly Kiwi but there will be a summer sale at Poundland where all the rubbish has to go, I’m sure they’ll be one or two bargains to be had, I hear they even have some very useful dysfunctional bench warmers that are mislabelled as footballers

Trying to sort out who Bub's assistant managers are. They've got the Hock on board, but Darko is being a little more elusive

Or Steve Evans wants a written guarantee that he has first choice of the pies and 24 hour access to Greggs

If Bub doesn't come to Leeds, I've heard the posh are after him as Steve Evan's assistant :)

today we MAY just takethe biggest gamble in many a year at Elland Road. Next year we will either be sitting pretty at the top of the pile or sliding ominously into L1. On the one hand we have a man who is lauded as a God by so many top managers and has seen action in top leagues and even World Cups. On the other hand he took a team of talented Argentinians and failed at the first hurdle. On the domestic level he took a medium team in Lille and left them, scrapping for survival after one season. At Lazio when he did not get his own way after two days just walked away, so somewhat of a loose canon. On a twisted ray of light, if we do fail miserably at least we will do it playing highly entertaining "electric" football. My hope is that he can transform decent championship players into a cross between Mo Farah and Maradona. Playing with high skill but the endurance of a top class marathon runner. It is said that his style took him to two European finals but his style also lost two finals as all the players were so exhausted with their high pressing endeavours over the previous season. I still look forward to him signing but worry that "this is Leeds Unted" after all. If he is the manager it goes without saying that he will get my blind loyalty. Just Bloody Well get on with it!

Good post leo. My concerns are a lack of experience in the English game and causing player exhaustion. His style more fitting for 90 minutes one-off cup games in my opinion. However, if he can learn quickly and adapt his style he could be an asset. He is bound to attract superior players who will be an upgrade on Cooper Okane and Ekuban. Weighing up the pros and cons his appointment shows promise if it happens.

Can I just say before I say I told you so, I told you so. Can I say before I say radz out, radz out. Can I say. I thought he was sensible astute and level headed business man that would take us up. I was wrong. This is throwing money desperately to fix a problem and it’s doomed to fail. Nothing against the bies or even the new signings if they ever arrive. But the whole reason and structure is wrong. Yet again. Stupid man radz. **** off.

Ausman, this has to be the (brights) post this closed season well said, well put and bloody right,

14 Jun 2018 15:10:16
Aus Don't sit on fence. Lol. I believe you are wrong. His appointment if it happens is expensive but only for an initial year and will raise revenues and international profile of club which will support Radz overseas business ventures. With access to the PL promising almost 200m in 2019 and many Championship teams in financial difficulty now is probably the time to strike. That said, who am I to criticize POTS?

So Bielsa reportedly offered a one year deal with an option from both parties to extend by a year, being paid £4 million a year - I bet Radz is having kittens. Let's hope that if the deal goes through Bielsa is the one to finally get us playing attractive attacking football and winning. I also see that there's some mention of Becchio being his assistant, not sure how serious that rumour is but I think it's a step too far for him at present. It would be good to see Becchio back in some role but I suspect that Bielsa would have his own backroom team in mind wherever he took ove and I doubt if Becchio would feature highly in that list

They are the figures I have read too, but very much doubt their truth. No one is privy to such detail from negotiations apart from the immediate parties involved. A lot will be bonus based.

14 Jun 2018 14:01:57
£3.5 million and presumably performance bonuses. It’s truly a gamble but then wasn’t Hockaday et al, and one thing we may get is some much needed stability as it will become prohibitavly expensive to remove Bielsa unless his performance Is so dire that we are 28th by Christmas! ? The other benefit may be that we get some decent signings on the field as it’s no good having a Ferrari and running a Trabant, O’Kane and the rest just aren’t up to it, it would have been interesting to be a fly on the wall when Bielsa did a video review of our squad and season, I bet he cried into hiss beer. Radz will have to back if if appointed

14 Jun 2018 21:24:33
If the bloke gets us promoted I Don't give a fig how much he gets paid, in fact, if he does get us in the PL I'd give him the same again as a bonus.

Who gives a xxxx about 2 new club shops. Sort a manager, get rid of the huge amount of deadwood in the squad. And start building for next season. Like everyone else in the league are doing.

Very excited about bielsa, think it could be a great work by rads and hopefully great for our club. I know he doesn't know this league but it could be an exciting ride watching the future leeds team, like the sound of his attacking formation. Also feel he has a big name in football and will have a pull on some big name players. Hope rads gives him the cash to buy them, he has to if he wants us to be like wolves and get promoted with flair, the rewards are huge. He also has respect of pep and poch and may have pull to snag a couple of their fringe players? Get in CB, fancy GK Gunn, pacey winger and one or 2 of the mentioned forwards.

When Bielsa signs on the dotted line could we all make him feel welcome and get 100% behind him. I for one will be ecstatic as going from Hecky to a former top international manager is brilliant work by radz and the team. Was the last former international manager we had el tel? MOT.
