Good performance tonight over a hull team that do very well away from home. Can't wait for Sunday now LET'S SMASH THE HAMMERS

Saw Forssell at the game tonight. Clearly showing some interest in coming and a good performance from the lads, hopefully will persuade him to sign up.

Would love to see him in the team

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Would be good, due to injury record though ( and tight papa smurf) wonder if he'd sign on a pay as you play contract, hear he failed a medical on trial at west ham? Would love him to sign though don't get me wrongMOT

Nunez you are going to be a legend mate, to already have chosen club over country shows your passion and comitment to the cause, you ,tom and clayton with lb and jh to come back too, let's sign forsell too and make a go of it, love leeds and would support them whatever but proper proud tonight. well done. MOT Shame on u larry haters.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Agreed, the 'SACK SG' crowd after 2 games, must be lunatics. People who don't appreciate a good manager and don't understand the game. Got to keep it going though.

just wondering how andy keogh played
tonight?
MOT

Believable2 Unbelievable1

V well, isnt gonna be an out an out goal scorer but is aggressive, and holds the ball up well. He brings other players into the game too, McCormack looked much more comfortable with him up there next to him. Becchio and McCormack in 4-4-2 could be very dangerous

Agree0 Disagree0

It will be awesome if Keogh and Becchio play together, Keough proved why Grayson got him, just so good at intercepting balls, holding on and passing it about.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Keogh and Nunez played amazing Ross Mac was a different player tonight (sharp) Clayton is class and Tom Lees will be worth millions come end of season.. still think Brown is a weakness but he was steady tonight

Agree0 Disagree0

Not all about scoring goals... He looked class last night.. Was like a breath of fresh air

can we stop panicking now? Our boys showing their true class tonight. Lonergan and the 3 youngsters again very impressive.

The first thing that I think we should all say tonight, is well done to the team. Sometimes it takes some bad luck and bad decisions for things to turn out better and it seems that the team tonight was a good combination of young talent and the odd recruit, with no Bechio, Somma, paynter, howson or gradel. Just like the two defeats, it does not make the season but it is much much more encouraging and with all of those players above fighting to get back in the team and a few new additions, who knows, we could be on a way up that table quickly. i am really pleased for Simon and all of the players . Lets keep it going. Oh by the way look at the results of Southampton and Middlesborough tonight, they show that they might actually be quite good teams this year as well and a few more teams might lose to them.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Well said.

SG deserves all the congratulations that come his way as do the players.

Ive been fed up of reading such negative comments on here about our players...

Lonergan being a crap signing and Kasper being better...think not His experience shines through and his saves are quality.

Lees, Kisnorbo, O'Dea and White are a good back 4. O'Dea class at CB much better than at LB.

Clayton amazing and Nunez very good.

McCormack - wouldnt be surprised if he becomes our top goalscorer and for all those who said Keogh was crap.......i hope you all hanging your heads in shame all those who slag off players, management and coaching staff

Other than a clearly great result I can see a load of huge positives:

Tom Lees - looks great and will be a huge player for us
Ramon Nunez - looks to be a gem and will rival Aguero
Adam Clayton - been hugely impressive in every game
442 looks much more solid and effective
Andy Keogh - great game tonight and the perfect foil for Ross
Ross McCormack - finally has a strike partner he clearly needs and looks like his confidence is quickly coming back, think he could be another big player this season, especially when Becchio comes back
Aidy White - proven tonight he can make at left back
O'Dea - looked much more solid at centre back
Lonergan - some great saves and looks real quality
Snoddy - fitness and undoubted quality back on show

I really wonder how Mad Max & Jonny Howson can get back in the side I appreciate this is only one game and I don't want to get carried away but this has proven what we're capable of

Feeling much more positive and proud of the lads

MOT

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Well said MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Easy for them to slide back into side, we either go 4-5-1 against hammers and revert to boro team (with White in and O'dea at CB) or go 4-4-2 drop Brown to bench for Howson and put Gradel back in for Nunez with Nunez as a decent 30-40min impact sub (he did seem shattered when he was subbed) just my opinion anyway Spot on with your analysis though brilliant game, bring on the 'Ammers MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Brown was on the squad Howson may get in instead of brown

Agree0 Disagree0

Think we should stick with 4-4-2 only change should be brown to bench and howson in team alongside Clayton. Max needs to be taught that his temper needs to be sorted and should start on the bench, nunez keeping his place

Great result, grey performance all round. Keep in mind hull were unbeaten in 19 away from home and that was a thrashing.

wonder how many grayson haters decide to comment after tonights match?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Noone hates sg. We all just want Leeds to
Play well. I just think it's strange that it's taken sg this long to realise how our defence should be and how we should play two upfront. Lets not get to excited. To be honest the result kind of flattered us. Maybe it's about time Leeds had a bit of luck. Fingers crossed that will give the lads the confidence to come out possitively at upton park.

Agree0 Disagree0

Having watched the game tonight...add Becchio, Gradel, Howson and mayb Forsell and one more solid defender...the rest of the Championship will be running scaredha No but honestly how can any Leeds fans not think we have an abundance of attacking quality and options. Soton and Middlesborough are 1st and 2nd by the way..Just wait till end of October and see where we are MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said fella MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't get too carried away.I'm no Grayson hater but concerned at lack of quality bought.let's see us at west ham on sun to see if we have turned corner.yes great win but we need extra quality to be up there where we belong.there was still a spell in first half where hull were all over us and if could have been diff.I trust Grayson as he showed in binning ob and putting in lees.but we needmore

Agree0 Disagree0

That result tonight did NOT flatter us, we absolutely dominated the game, or didn't you bother to turn up??

How the hell can you say that, it was a great team performance, woth many key players missing..... obvioulsy like you

Don't if anyone heard the bates interview just prior to kick off, basically said transfers are completely upto Grayson if and when he wants to sign someone and that regardless of the east end redevelopment, that categorically doesn't affect transfer funds.

Certainly not defending the old smurf but interesting to hear, I almost took the comments about Transfers as a dig at Grayson - saying he's thought we've needed another striker for a while but it's Simons decision

I really am not sure what to think to be honest but get a niggly feeling something isn't right in their relationship. Sounds also like forsell is impressing in training too

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Nah...bates has always spoken about SG with great respect and said that he is the best manager he has worked with.

Apart from the potential Mikel signing, there's nothing positive coming from Leeds in the way of transfers. I don't know who makes the transfer calls & frankly I don't care but are they really trying to tell us that Keogh is the best available.Seriously
If we haven't got the funds, fine, then be more industrious. I just saw a post on the main Rumours section about Coventry been interested in loaning a 19yr old Manchester City Striker called John Guidetti. He's represented Sweden at Under 17's Under 19's & Under 21's.
Check him out on:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnLhE9WTYRY&feature=related

or go on you tube & type bicycle kick goal by John Guidetti.
Not getting on the bench at Man City is not exactly embarrassing (you would have thought we might of had a look at their excess strikers) & I think a player like him would thrive on loan here with the likes of the other young lads like Howson & Clayton.
More to the point it would show some AMBITION rather than SETTLING for players that will "do a job".
Even though I am not thrilled about the standard of people we have brought in so far, I will be backing them 100%.
This complaint, moan, rant, whine, whatever you want to call it, isn't aimed at the players coming in (I applaud them for coming) & I'm not asking for Ken or SG's head either. It's aimed at the lack of desire & ambition of those targeting them & those bringing them in. Whether its Bates, SG, Harvey,whoever........WE THE FANS DESERVE BETTER

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Shut up and look at tonights result. Keogh was very good up front with Ross Mac.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree to extent.let's not get carried away with one win.we know we need more players to make the difference.let's see west ham on Sunday first before people say how good we looked tonight.no surprise keogh good tonite.but will he be consistent.yes we need players like u say

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope you are man enough to eat your words after Keough's performance tonight......

... who you gonna pick on next, loser????

Agree0 Disagree0

Original Poster Hear.
To the guy with the comment above about picking on players. Erm read the whole thing before you make a comment you MUPPET.
It wasn't aimed at a player in particular as it clearly states if you had bothered to read it - or got somebody to interpret the words with more than one syllable for you (not unless before the game you thought that Keogh was the best signing we could get & that we had been bringing in exciting players). After all this was wrote before the game. was posted 21.53 but wrote much earlier, check time difference between this and post below, 4hrs without any Leeds banter during the game. Really
What I was saying was that the premiership has got shed loads of incredibly super talented youngsters that they would love to blood at a club like ours and I'd bet they would contribute to a lot of their wages too and we should at least be looking at them.
To the guy who told me to shut up and look at the result. I will & I'll get behind our team 100% and hope we can get some momentum.
To Andy Keogh (although not likely to be reading this) Congratulations Great Debut possibly the Man of the Match.

I didn't realise Forsell had undergone a trial at West Ham?

What does that say? If they don't want him, why would we?

Keogh's a good addition to the squad... I see 3 points coming our way tonight. We got unlucky against Middlesbrough, not easy when we're down to 9 men.

Things are looking up. MOT

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Defence problems all over as SG has identified a player that stays in the six yard box & penalty area & is guarranteed to clear the ball from any dangers of it ending up in the net - he is already known to many of us & his name has been sung out loud by the Kop .........

Oh his name? Billy Paynter

To sign Andy Keogh is not the answer. This guy
averages 1 goal every 5-6 games.Forsell a much
better choice provided he is fit. Much more of a
goal getter than Keogh (no disrespct for Keogh).
Replace Paynter with Forsell. Anyway the LB
problem is not solved yet.O'Dea not comfortable
at LB. He is more of a CB than a LB. Simon needs
to bring someone with pace and comfortable in
the LB position. Midfield still light. Brown's not the
holding midfielder Simon's looking for. Too slow.
Montgomery much better. Thought Simon going
to sign him up. Till today there is no news.
Lees can make the RB his.Paddy and O'Dea or
Bromby can be the CB. LB NEEDS TO BE ADDRESS.
Maybe Clayton can be the holding midfielder we
seek. The guy is a star in the making so is Nunez. Sort it out Simon. A concerned Leeds fan.
seek. The guy is a revelation.A star in the making
so is Nunez. We need to win from now on if we
are to make the PREMIER LEAGUE. A concerned
Leeds fan.

Ed what do you think of Keogh? I've heard of him, not sure if I've seen him play though. What's he like? Good addition or another lacklustre signing? {Ed001's Note - I think he was out of his depth in the Prem, get the right team around him and get his confidence up and he will do well in the Championship. But he is very much a short term solution for me, unless you intend to stay in the Championship, because it is clear that he has not got that extra bit of quality needed to step up a level.}
