Wow! Every single one of those 23's can step up to the first team. Stand out; Eddie, JC, and Gotts. But all of them are going to be top quality. I stand by my previous post, that all we need to sign is someone to back up Pablo.

Totally Alf, but it is the bridge between Academy / youth and the first team, otherwise the only way they get higher level experience is thro a loan. I strongly believe that a number of them can do a first team Job, as we have seen with Davies and Shack, and latterly Casey. Feed em in bit by bit, and they will show their worth.

Hopefully, if White goes in January, they will loan him back to us til the Summer.
Can't see it really and realistically it would be amazing if no big boy came in for him now. He has been playing Premier league football since he arrived. I can only assume that behind the scenes we have been working hard identifying a clone. Maybe even that was one of the reasons Casey/ Struijk got a run out recently, to help out.
Not too worried if Clarke, Nketiah return in the window, others can fill in and Edmondson is knocking on the door.
PS We do however have 10 million incoming to plug any gap.

JC and Eddie were fantastic tonight for the 23’s, so I’d prefer to keep them. I’m pretty sure from Brighton statements, that Ben White will be going nowhere. From their perspective, he’s developing under one of the worlds best coaches, at a PL atmosphere, and is part of their future. No way is he going anywhere for less than £35 million.

Think Nekeitha and Clarke have roles to play in the 2nd half of the season.
I read all this stuff about Eddie being courted by other EFL teams but here is my take
The lad is being coached 6 days a week by one of the worlds most renowned coaches. Sure he is not getting many minutes of the 90 on a Saturday, but 'the match'is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to his learning process. He will be a regular in many games in the rest of his career but he won't have many opportunities to develop like he is doing now. Can he really learn that much from the Bristol City coach?
As for White, my thinking is similar to the above. He is learning good habits that will stand him in good steady for the rest of his career. or he can listen to Fat Frank spout off about playing for England!

If Eddie goes, we will get a replacement. I’d go after that little rat Gayle personally. White is going nowhere so all we need is Coops fit and staying fit. Pablo cover is our #1 priority IMO.

Guys, don't build up your Hope's for Jan, no investment, 1 loanee if clarke goes, why let eddie go and take a new striker who will not be up to MB instant requirement, plus will be lacking game time IMO I too would love faylevbutvthe great nan won't play 2 up top and lives bam bam.

Eddie played the Bam Bam role perfectly tonight, and bagged two. Hope we keep him, as I think he can actually do the Bamford job, based on what I’ve just watched, even tho it was 23’s football.

Eddie played the Bamford role, but slightly differently
He did not have the physical presence that Bamford has brought to his game this season. And he didn't work the channels/ centre backs like Bamford is doing. But in his version the centre backs are just not fast enough to live with him and hence not near enough to need the physical dominance that Bamford brings.
Also, Nekeitha was more accurate with his goal shooting than Bamford
I can now see Nekeitha getting starts as we manage Bamfords workload in the 2nd half of the season.
