Martyn waghorn available from leicester. Busstling forward in hunt mould but better younger and would provide a bit of heart to cause.

Well we not going to sign le fondre. Let hope it Billy Sharp he is talking tomorrow

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Billy Sharp detests LUFC

Agree0 Disagree0

No he doesn't stop making rubbish up not once has billy sharp said he doesn't like leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Who cares? Footballers don't care who they play for anyway. Alan Smith said he hated and still went.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lee chapman hated leeds united fact still played for us though didn't he

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no way on this Earth that Sharp would play for Leeds

Has anyone else heard the rumour that there was a bust up between the players after the xmas party? Not read any posts on here but was told about it by a friend a few days ago. Would explain the major dip in form over the past month or so and the total lack of passion on the pitch. I just put it down to our typical 2nd half of the season form that's blighted us over the past few years.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Haven't heard of a bust up, but judging by the Rochdale/Wednesday performances it must have been one hell of a party.

Agree0 Disagree0

Players party was in Wetherby on 17th December and we haven't won since. However a friend of mine stayed in the hotel it was held in and he didn't see anything up to the point the players left about 2am

Agree0 Disagree0

I doubt there was as they all left straight away other than hunt and mccormack

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2014 22:29:37
Think the 'Players party' was in Dublin not Wetherby! They went straight after Watford game!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well they are certainly playing like they had more than one Christmas party

When will we ever be told the truth about our club?

This supposed takeover will not happen till the End of the transfer window, which again will mean the end of another season in despair.
Do not tell me we will start fresh again next season
11 seasons and we are still no better off
GET LeFondre in NOW and tell us what is going on with our beloved club ASP! Like YESTERDAY!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Understand your frustration mate .
LeFondre not coming, Brian already stated Reading won't sell to us, pity he is ideal .

My name is BMd. I want to take pressure of Ross so let's not rest him let's lose Smith red card appeal let's not buy anymore strikers and let's make Ross captain. That'll take the weight off his shoulders!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

16 Jan 2014 18:16:01
Your obviously not bmd because he would have mentioned he got to a play off final and won promotion the following season with reading!

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2014 19:00:02
If I were in popeys shoe the next time bmd trotts out his reading waffle i'd add and you got them relegated the season after!

Agree0 Disagree0

Note to OP: Its not BMD fault that Smith got sent off, nor is it his fault that the appeal was unsuccessful! A fee was agreed to bring in another striker but this was blocked by GFH again not BMDs doing.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2014 16:23:46
In regards to this Ashley Barnes business. Could it be that GFH have already agreed a fee for the club, based on assets, which would include players. Therefore by allowing Barnes to be signed they in effect would be buying him for the club and not getting their investment back. I don't claim to be in the know. Just thought it might be a possibility.

Cheers

Ben - Telford

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thank god I think. I don't think he's a good player and not what we want to buy

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry don't quite follow the argument re assets. The new owners were going to pay for Barnes so why should GFH benefit from the increased asset value. The price agreed would have been based on value of assets before Barnes. If GFH were going to pay for Barnes then you have a valid argument,

Agree0 Disagree0

Op here.I didn't know who had put the money up for him.just a thought if it was HGH.

Agree0 Disagree0

That is what I was thinking

Agree0 Disagree0

I did think that might be the case

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2014 19:20:39
Lets just hope the block on the Barnes move was just a sensible bloke not wantin to part with more money for another striker that doesn't score goals. Lita is now being mentioned, by august we may have all Brians reading team. Did he mention he took them up? And they were a great set of lads

New captain Ross proof BMd got it wrong who now admits Rudi personality and game "not conducive" to captaincy. So why did he make him captain? Why it took half a season to find out? Sounds like B/S.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Austin has done good in a lot of games, he's just inconsistent

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep, sounds like B/S. let's sell all the players, sack the manager and start playing netball instead.

Agree0 Disagree0

He doesn't have a clue, it will be given to someone else next week if we get dicked by Leicester.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's easy for us as fan's to say that now. but I bet you and most fans thought Rudy was the correct choice at the time as I did myself

Agree0 Disagree0

Austin quit

Agree0 Disagree0

BMD said in interview that Rudy asked to be replaced as captain as he felt both the team and his own game would benefit from the change. fair play to Rudy for having the guts to say so. As for why BMD didn't make the decision himself is another matter.

Agree0 Disagree0

Austin has done good in a lot of games?? I can pick 2 the others he has been shocking. If he did request the captaincy goes to somebody else, then that's the best thing he has done so far this season.

Just a thought we are all slating the club for lack of signings etc.

31 full time players in the squad. That is a hell of a lot with all or most on decent whack.£££

I would agree with the hierarchy that we need to move a few on before more signings really.

From a business point of view I can see exactly where they are coming from.

From a fans point of view, we need more signings and good ones at that!

United!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's a shame 27 of them are rubbish. The 4 who aren't are Ross Byram Pearce and Mowatt. Sell the rest for a combined fee of 1 pound and buy some proper players with class.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wonder how may short contracts we have left, Drury, Norris, Varney, Brown . surely we can just release them and pay off their contracts.

Based on £5k a week for the next 6 months would only mean £120k a player. If they earned up to £10k, then £240k. That would mean a potential outlay of upto £1mil or isn't it worth it or that simple?

DS

Agree0 Disagree0

O/P here
Pearce is not 1 of the 4 good ones
50p head as he should be known looks like a rabbit in headlights

Awful

Agree0 Disagree0

You honestly can't of been to one match this season if you think pearce has been poor

Agree0 Disagree0

DS, I think the problem with that is that players won't take a reduced pay off in order to help them find a new club and therefore there is no financial advantage to releasing them early.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pearce has played well in the back 3, because he has cover. When we have played 4-4-2 Pearce as somebody states is like a rabbit in headlights. I don't think he is a very good footballer, but I would say this season with the current formation he is in the top 4. The proof will be when we go back to 4-4-2

Stories coming out that Ross Mc, will be Captain against Leicester on Saturday.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes on os now

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeap he's the one that is going to lead the team out I think that he deserves it as he was the only player who made an effort in the sheff wed game M.O.T

Agree0 Disagree0

Ross is new captain, nailed on to go to Norwich now, why can't we make Varney, Pugh or Brown captain

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2014 16:07:23
Yes he's going to score all goals while playing in goals serving in south stand bar pre match doing announcements and east stand burgers at half time and cutting the grass after the match before washing kits. Glad it was only a week or so ago bmd said we need to takr pressure off Ross or he would have been really busy come matchday!

Ross McCormack new leeds captain, good move in my opinion as he shows fight, passion and can lead by example like Austin used to at beginning of season, hope this doesn't put rudy off his game even more. Might make him work harder to prove his worth. Could go either way. Jim_lufc

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He's Scottish for starters, that's got to be a bonus if can be half as influencial as previous Scottish Captains we have a winner.

Look at what happened when we appointed some1 captain, norwich came running

money being held up now folkes I guess they now want to see how the weekend game goes b4 releasing any funds to Bmc understandable I suppose I bet we play a good game this week regardless of who we play because they boys are going to have to have a reaction to sw game least said bout that game the better I reckon it'll be closer game than we think here's hoping :) MOT

Who thinks we need a new goal keeper don't get me wrong I do like Kenny but I think he is to inconsistant, would like to see a prem goal keeper at us even if only a loan.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

More important positions to worry bout than GK like the entire out field for example
And m

Agree0 Disagree0

Gk is the most important position.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kenny is one of only a couple that can hold their head up this season. Far more important areas need strengthening

Agree0 Disagree0

If paddy gets injured we could be in trouble we have cairns but how good is he, cover for him is very important.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who thinks we need a new team minus Pearce and Ross?

Austin has had more bad games than good playing for Leeds however I wonder in part if the postion he is being asked to play is contributing to some woeful performances. Due to the lack of personnel he is being played in an advance midfield role (CAM), I may be wrong but during his career he has played in more defensive roles (DM and CB). I think the fact that he has little creativity and inaccuracy with passing has been forgotten by the current manager because he runs around alot, on his day (more not than often) can cause problems to the opposition through pressure on the ball and that there is no-one else to play their. Moving Austin back to a DM role and bringing in a ball playing midfielder may improve our grip on games from midfield

Being reported that gfh blocked the deal for ashley barnes. The word from elland road was that it was a done deal before being blocked by gfh, so much for david haigh saying fund for transfers is in place. Yet another smokescreen durring another transfer window. When will owners stop telling the fans lies

Believable0 Unbelievable0

This is disturbing but what's more disturbing is who leaked this info and why. Obviously we don't have a harmonious unit for a board. Trouble with the takeover?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2014 10:52:24
Ashley Barnes The deal was done and then blocked by senior officials at GFH they refused to sign off the transfer. Apparently there are high-level divisions at Elland Road. We need the takeover to go ahead asap

Wootton should be played for Leicester game. Not really been given a run of games yet and when has played, has looked a lot better than Lees at the minute. Pearce and Wootton at CB with Byram RB and Pugh LB.

You obviously wasn't at rochdale! He is terrible ( fact )

Leeds players that need to be replaced with better players for leeds to go up Brown norris varney green lees white austin diouf kenny peltier pugh tonge morrison comments on players mcdermotts signed matt smith will improve wait till the crosses start coming his leeds 2nd top scorer as it is murphy best leeds midfielder in years the xakilukas we are lucky to have him noel hunt will get us goals his one who b******* others in the dressing room what leeds have needed last few week the 2 wingers best wingers leeds have had in years again that young lad looks exciting prospect and mcormack I know mcdermott did not sign him but his gotting the best out of him been the top scorer for leeds and the championship and the man himself mcdermott he will get us promoated 100 percent guarenteed just let him bring more players in he dosent do it for signings sake like past managers signing there 3rd option every player he has signed has been better than the player they have replaced

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You have listed 13 players under contract to be replaced, altough I must admit some of them are average or their best playing days are behind them, but there is no way that these players will just move on our behalf to get better players in, Regarding Zaliukus he started off very promising and in a flat back 4 with a defensive midfielder in front he could be ok, as for Noel Hunt add him to the list of average unable to move on.

Agree0 Disagree0

Murphy best midfielder in years is rubbish, he's been a major let down & would be lucky to get a place on the bench. Hope he'll come good, but not seem enough so far.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its unfair to criticise Murphy who is young and needs experience leadership with him in midfield. Now that green is fit he woud be a much better replacement for that headless chicken Austin! Read Lorimars article -he confirms my thoughts that what we really need above all else is a CAPTAIN -remenber Collins, Bremner, Strachan - had any of them been on the pitch last week the mauling from Wednesday would not have happened.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2014 10:57:13
kenny haha been one of are best players and i'd keep brown

Agree0 Disagree0

Its easier to list players you wouldn't like to see moved on:

McCormack
Byram
Mowatt
Stewart

Rest. can all go for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Brown gets some unnecessary stick in my eyes. OK he's getting on a bit, but at least he has passion, which couldn't be said about the 11 who played last week. Green, I put in the same place as Brown. Kenny & Peltier haven't been the worse players this season and Pugh has played better than most. Zaliukus has had three bad games, let's hope it's a blip. Mowatt started bright, but has hit a rocky patch, but he's only young. Murphy isn't a Worldy and for me has only had a couple of good games, but I think he will come good. Hunt, hmmmm. Maybe with a run which it looks like he will get now may give him chance to change our minds. As for Austin, what a let down! I've not been his biggest fan, but he needs a break from the side

According to the Reading Post on the 16th of January, Nigel Adkins is looking for a CB and a LB this window - defenders. Looking at their squad they have 4 forwards, 1 of which might never play again due to injury (Jason Roberts). One can deduct from this that it is highly unlikely that Adam Le Fondre would be sold.

Plus the fact that he has 18 more months left on his contract; that prices us out of any outright purchase regardless if Sport Capital takeover the club.
