Bridcutt has had about 2 maybe 3 bad games n there been average performances not actually bad. He's work goes unnoticed by protect back 4 n inthink if not for him we would be conceding more.

It's a funny ole game. We actually played well for 70 mins and still lost 2-0. How we could do with some pace through the middle though.
Call me an optimist but the playoffs are still a possibility. But it will take a 7 or 8 game winning run! Who knows.

How many so called pundits have written QPR off? Theya were below us yesterday, lost their best player and were in poor form. Difference is they will spend and probably on the right players. If QPR aren't being written off let's not write ourselves off. Bring in quality 1 CB and some pace in behind Wood.

I apologise in advance for venting my spleen and I do not lay todays defeat at the feet of one player but Luke Murphy gets on my t*ts. Even though he probably had one of his better games today, most of his passes are either sideways or backwards and he rarely takes responsibility. A prime example was when he took a chance and drive forward with the ball, played a pass to Doukara then drops still. Doukara shot and the keeper tipped it wide. If the keeper had made a mistake like Silvestre and paried it in the box, Murphy would have been nowhere near it. I feel sorry for Bridcutt because when he wins the ball there are little options available to pass to especially when Murphy is playing 5 yards behind Bridcutt. Definately need to bring in a player to replace this lame duck.

Good post Notts. I noticed the same thing he just came to a halt, although to be fare there should been others further up field supporting. I blame one person for our defeat and that's silvestri! He can't kick or catch and doesn't command his box, we need another keeper asap.

Poor from the Ref today, Hutchison should have seen red for persistant fouling (although Cook was a tad fortunate) . Where in the rules does it state that the 4th official determines the validity of a goal. Sheff Wed had made a sub and Foresteri took an age to get off the pitch. The Ref allowed the free kick to be taken with 12 Wednesday players on the pitch and punishes us by disallowing the goal because Wednesday infringed the rules, didn't at least book Forestieri for time wasting. That said I don't think the goal would have made much difference as when you gift the opposition 2 goals you are generally on a hiding to nothing.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

16 Jan 2016 18:34:35
Eh? The first half we shaded possession and had more shots both on and off target. We should have been home free before half time, just poor finishing and headless chicken Doukara to blame.

16 Jan 2016 21:28:08
JT. The highlights show dakoura off the line and cook just wide. Apart from that apparently Wendy's had made us look like Sunday league.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2016 09:08:39
I was at the game Ben and other than a rocky first 10
Mins we played very well in the first half. A dodgy start in the second half mainly because of Silvestri took the stuffing out of us. The difference was they had a striker that looked like he was going to score compared to us who if I'm honest though the only threat came from Cook going forward. I'm still to see the highlights and the reason the goal was disallowed, but the last 10 we looked dangerous too, so if it would have stood, we might have even got something.

The management team including the owner (s) need to have a meeting and thrash out what their long term goals (no pun intended) for the club. We are going around in circles. Same short term thinking every transfer window we get linked with decent players and it drags on and t.hey sign for someone else. We pick up players who clearly are not good enough, just to appease the fans. If we sign players they have to be better than the ones we have, otherwise they end up as deadwood, hanging around picking up wages. Then we can't get rid so can't sign players we need. We need a balanced squad, we've got a dozen midfield players but still need 5 in there to compete. We should have got Forriestti but didn't, that was withoudoubt Cellino's fault.

We don't have to worry what with Bolton and Charlton in free fall. Today we showed signs of good counter attacking play. A decent centre forward and we would have been well away at half time. We do need to tighten up at the back and Silvestri needs to have a big look at himself, but there were positives.

Given the state of the club, the uncertainty, and how we are portrayed - some of it justified its more difficult than it should be to get real quality players in. Its not about money although that's a major issue. What aspiring player would choose to come to Leeds rather than say Middlesborogh Derby and dare I say it Sheffield. We need a period of stability and no media gaffs (although that will be difficult to prevent with Cellino's ban taking the headlines) . We hopefully could get players who might not take us up immediately but would show that we were moving forward. Once we get in that position players may start wanting to come then its down to the club to spend the cash. No self respecting player would want to come at the moment. That's why we only get the 'nearly' men or the 'has beens' or sometimes the ' never was's'. Consolidate to the end of the season and go for it in Summer. How many times have we had to say that?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

16 Jan 2016 17:15:35
How bad a state is club and as for uncertainty not much more uncertain than any other club as for media gaffs I think cellino is getting wiser to those but the media have a hard on for Leeds so they will always be looking for silly stories I am sure if they put as much effort into Rotterdam or Huddersfield they could find as many similar stories but Leeds pay the price of being a big club in a small pond as fans we have to accept that there will always be a media circus and you can keep Middlesbrough and Derby I wouldn't swap Leeds no matter what.

16 Jan 2016 16:47:30
Just as a follow up, even with the current players we can beat anyone in this division. But only when every player plays at their best, we have a bit of luck, and no mistakes are made. The odds of that happening are almost like winning the lottery.

Agree2 Disagree0

16 Jan 2016 17:07:39

16 Jan 2016 17:26:05
We were the far better team in the first half and should have scored. Lewis Cook I still believe is a gem ( when at his best) . I think Taylor will be the best left back in the country in the next year or two. Yes we have to get better players in certain positions but I would play Any player that has the passion for the club first. IMO, PASSION AND PRIDE for our club and fans = PROMOTION.

Lee Chapman, David Batty and now Steve Evans just to name a few have the above. MOT.

Agree0 Disagree1

16 Jan 2016 16:16:35
Plain truth is we are just not good enough, SE will do the best possible with what he has, would of had a better season if he had been there from the start. Comparing our squad to Wilkos when they were promoted do not think any of our players bar Charlie Taylor would get in that team, using that as yardstick some of what we have will develop but we must add some real quality as well! Its either Cellino gets rid of GFH and puts his hand in his pocket ( gets the investment) or moves on for someone else to do it. Can you imagine the conversation with the bank, with Cellino looking to borrow and under a Owners and Directors ban. Do not think our new dawn is on the horizon yet. Another thing if Cellino thinks he can bring in a few players and walk this league he has another thing coming. The other teams in this league are not just going to roll over because Cellino wants them to.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

16 Jan 2016 16:14:22
Well that was a disaster! Decent 1st half performance but should of scored 2. And then in the 2nd half 1 goal was Poor Keeping by Silvestri should of left that shot. And then that corner was defended terribly and it was a tap in. 2 goal was Garbage keeping from Silvestri and another tap in. The thing is now he is going to get loads of stick on social media and he is going to be down about it. As I said earlier he has been one of our best players recently and he will get loads of stick that he doesn't deserve. While Dallas is still treated like the golden child. Ok this is my opinion about Dallas yes I agree that he has been our best summer singing and he works hard but he is so quiet some games ( Like he was today. ) and it is so frustrating because he can be so dangerous like he was against Wolves. But he wasn't the only one. Bellucci was poor today. Carayol had a decent first half but was very quiet in the second. Silvestri obviously had a poor game. Then we move on to the official what in the blue hell was that goal that was disallowed. He gave it as a goal so it was a goal but then like a coward which he was he pulled out of it because Sheffield were the home team and he was frightened of them. I think if it was the other way round he would of given it. I think he should be demoted, the FL probably will give him a pay rise. Well at least Cook played ok and so did Doukara. Taylor MOTM. So then what a disappointment. And the playoff dream is over which is extremely disappointing. Now we Evans has to rally the lads and have the Best season possible and have a Cup run? We have get a proven championship goal scorer permanently and if enough money left after Byram sale a proven championship cb as well. Another season's chance of promotion gone. Disappointing and uspeting. We all feel the pain now but our time will come. Our time will come. Hopefully next season. MOT!

Definition of insanity is repeating the same thing expecting to get different results. This is not about poor refereeing decisions but the decision of Cellino not to invest in the team and the decisions by Evans to keep picking Wootton and playing players out of position - Doukara as a lone striker- and the decision not to buy a backup goalkeeper. Evans and Cellino both lack class (compare them with Revie, Bremner, Giles, Wilkinson) and their brains are firmly disengaged from their mouths. The FL does not like Leeds, we know that, because they believe we think we are too good for this League. Well, we are exactly where we deserve to be and won't move on until these clowns Cellino and Evans move on. Leeds Fans do not deserve this!

I've been a Cellino backer since he came but I am starting to move across to the other side.
Basically we are still a lower level championship side just the same as when he arrived.
The reality of our situation is we are not good enough and the only way we will be is to buy better players, which means paying bigger wages. If Cellino can't afford to do this then where are we going? Nowhere (or League 1) .
Does Cellino not realise that we USED to be a big club because we had lots of fans from all over the country. The longer we are out of the Premier League the smaller our fan base will become.
We need to get back there ASAP if we want to keep our big club status.
It's as if Cellino had enough money to buy the club and then realised he'd got no more money left!
You've got to speculate to accumulate!

16 Jan 2016 14:42:36
Not saying we would have got a point but the farce surrounding the disallowed goal was a disgrace. What's the point in having referee and 4th official miked up if they don't communicate. Referee should be sacked!

Believable10 Unbelievable0

16 Jan 2016 16:14:34
He has always been bad when reffing our games, surprised he did not send anyone off. Fact is we were not good enough, douks not a lone striker, murphy can't se a forward pass and evans can defend wotton all he likes he is poor. let's hope some quality comes through the door before feb.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jan 2016 16:40:09
Don't get me wrong BIGE. I'm not blaming the referee for the result. I'm not even suggesting he was biased, just very very poor. They should have had a player sent off near the end - but they should also have had a penalty in the first half when Bellusci clearly dragged a man down. All referees make mistakes, but when they make ones as serious and inexcusable as the disallowed goal, it's time there was some accountability. At the very least he should be suspended for half a dozen games.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jan 2016 14:42:14
IT'S SO PREDICTABLE. Can't score at one end and too many banana skins at the other. How many times do we concede just after half time or in the last few minutes? It happens with teams going nowhere or down. Doukara played well but not what he was there to do. Mid field gave the ball away too much. All in all good first half with nothing to show. Second half still nothing to show but two crucial errors. There were lots of others but they didn't lead to goals. Don't know if we sign anybody now but they have to make a difference not just panic buys. Lafferty for example is not the answer. Doukara can do what he will do - be good in the build up but can't score. Premiership clubs are wanting to offload mediocrity and rubbish in the January window. January is a time for finding a gem coming up from the lower divisions but they are hard to find. Premiership clubs pick up the decent players from lower divisions. Lower division clubs rarely pick up anything decent from the premiership in January. Hope there is a gem somewhere. Not holding my breath though.

Well here we go again, nog even the end of January and we're playing for points to keep us in the league. Waiting for a new prospect to come through. Waiting for the next one to be sold. I agree, poor mistake from Silvestri but let's not forget the saves that have kept us in games previously. Overall we are a mid table team with no cutting edge in front of goal. Unfortunately I am still not convinced that Wood is our saviour. We still, even more so, need a new spine to the team. Whether that comes from within or from quality signings only MC knows. Personally if from buys then I hope he waits until the summer. Sets up now and swoops early this summer when there is a greater choice and better value.

As I live in Sheffield I would hate us to lose today and like MM fear for us. Belushi can't mark players and they are good at set pieces. Hope Cellino is watching as Wednesday have shown some ambition and turned an average team into one on the verge of the play offs. We were the better footballing side in the fixure earlier in the season. But just goes to show, a couple of wise accusitions and you can fly up the table.
