for everyone making out that that the hull performance/result was a masterstoke from grayson and that the people slagging him off can eat their words etc... surely it is his fault for the previous displays as it has took him this long to realise that it wasn't working

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Sometimes 2 wrongs do make a right after all

Agree0 Disagree0

Another person who obviously wasn't there.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Masterstroke? Masterstroke? He played the only reasonable 11 he could. I could have picked that team

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha i was there actually and i haven't missed a game for 6 years so u have got that wrong

May i just say well done to paddy for giving encouragement to Tom lees just after the home goal, inspirational for a young lad and please keep it up. Things like this changes games.

Believable9 Unbelievable0

I thought the same mate. Lonergan did the same too... Lees did good not to let it get to him .... Can you imagine scoring an OG in front of the Kop ?

Agree0 Disagree0

I was in Kop & agree the way Paddy & Andy Lonergan went straight to Tom was great to see - exactly what any TEAMmate needed at that point.

Other than that hic-cough Tom had another good shift looks like he's making the shirt his :-)
Aidy was also good

Agree0 Disagree0

I sat in the South Stand Row D V Hull right at back of Lonergan's goal - his saves were awesome and his vocal encouragement to all his defenders was superb all night.. he even loved the chant there's only one Andy Lonergan and gave the fans a massive thumbs up.... best bit when he told the ball boy not to give Nicky Barmby the ball when Hull got a corner LMFAO

Fraid evry1 been misled bout lastest signing. Bates has produced a player in his own image who will play football for an agreed figure of nowt and will start training as a replacement for a certain figure at Christmas time. That's right folks we're actually about to sign -------- ROOKIE SANTA CLAUSE.. Sorry couldn't resist (its just as believable tho)

Beckford will not sign for that bunch of ferrets from the east midlands.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

If they offer him a lot of money he will

Well done lads we just need to build on that win now defence looked good just need 1 more midfielder and a defender for cover.i know its only 1 win but ha ha 2 all you critics lets hope larry gets it right even tho no backing off bates.come on leeds

Believable3 Unbelievable2

17 Aug 2011 15:17:42
ed do you think that Roque Santa Cruz would fit in well playing alongside Becchio when he is fit {Ed025's Note - he is a quality player, but dont get your hopes up..

Believable0 Unbelievable1

We would only take him short term while Becchio and Somma recover, and Keogh has come in much more cheaply and looks a good signing. add a permanent contract for Forssell and I can't see where he would fit in.

17 Aug 2011 12:52:28
Ed-what do you think about the santa cruz
rumour? {Ed025's Note - wages are too high..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We keep saying wages are too high, this is man city we are talking about Didnt they subsidise nearly all of Bellamy's wages last year

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes but Bellamy knows where the net is,this guy doesnt, would be a poor signing.

Finally Leeds got their first win. Well done lads and congragulations to Simon for getting the right players in the correct position. I say let's stick to this 4-4-2 formation with the same players in the first half and if it does not work out against West Ham on Sunday,Simon can always change the formation. O'Dea partnering Kisnorbo at CB, Lees at
RB, LB to White looks solid enough. Finally the defence is clicking. We still needs a defensive midfielder and probably a LB. White's not a LB. A pacy experienced LB and a holding midfielder. Hopefully Leeds will bring this form to West Ham on Sunday and make us proud to be a Leeds fan. Leeds fan forever.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

The problem with giving SG too much credit lies in the fact that he was down to the bare bones and had little choice in picking the team. But what the heck, who really cares as long as we won

Ed, didn't see the game. How did Lees look, could he be a proper LUFC central defender in the making? Opinions people? {Ed007's Note - I'm just covering the pages just now, but if O'Dea played for you last night could someone tell me what you thought of him etc, thanks guys. And congratulations on the win.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

O'dea played well as did the rest of the team.. Defiitely a CB and not a LB

Woke up this morning and felt so much better about Leeds. It's amazing what a good result can do for you. Last night we had passion & desire to win, Lees and Aidy White gave me hope for the future. Clayton looks like he will be a class act given time. Keogh made the formation work as a target man, releasing Mcormack to be free and a constant threat. O'Dea was a no nonsence centre half, no frills no O'Brien style clangers just dud his job quietly at the back. Brown I feel is a squad player due to his age, & another addition here like Montgommery or Clingan would definately strenghten us. All this with Gradel, Somma, Howson and Becchio to come back, much more positive.

Come on then you lot who wanted SG out...bet you all think he's the greatest now dont you

SG is the best manager we have had for years

Bring on the Hammers

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Well said fella. As with anything that is good in life, its always the minority that try and spoil it. Riots and looters, Morons etc. If we'd have lost the game last night it's the minority that would have put even more pressure on the board and SG, ultimately leading to god knows what. In Grayson we trust, MOT.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wrote this original post..not a fella...a lass Maybe I should end my posts with Miss A {Ed025's Note - its good to hear from female fans..nice one..

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha u make me laugh Grayson wins a game and hes the best. We all knew 4-4-2 was the answer .

Agree0 Disagree0

Always thought SG has been the best manager we have had in ages...whether we win or lose

Team v West Ham

Lonergan
Lees
O'Dea
Kisnorbo
White
Nunez
Brown
Clayton
Snodgrass
McCormack
Keough
Subs: Rachubka, Howson, Gradel, Bromby(if fit-Bruce if not), Sam

I think he should give the boys a chance see how they do against class opposition away - the defence will be the same anyway no matter what, if we are over-run in midfield then bring on Captain Marvel and Mad Max - we need the experience of Brown against West Ham and Clayton is playing too well to drop, Keough played well and brought others into play, helps McCormacks game too - can you imagine if we start with the same 11 and actually take the lead ? Then what does Larry do ??

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Agree with 99% but wud have Howson in and Brown on the bench

Agree0 Disagree0

Howson instead of brown

Agree0 Disagree0

Howson instead of brown and gradel instead of snodgrass

Agree0 Disagree0

Howson is NOT a defensive midfield player - does not do enough when we don't have the ball - which is why SG plays one up front to accomodate Howson.- Nearly all our strikers need a second striker to link with - better leave Howson on the bench and stick to 4-4-2 we look far better balanced.

Agree0 Disagree0

Like it but howson instead of Brown
and Grayson will put Gradel before Nunez i think

I heard a rumour today that SG is doing a good job and the team are shaping up well for a long season ahead, due to the fact that we have a better squad this season than last. I also heard another rumour that all the negative fans who are being so critical at this early stage of the season will eat their words and learn to support the club with optimistically as proper fans should. Is this true

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Also heard a rumour that some prat had put a bet on leeds getting relegated this season at 16/1 odds.he was very happy with himself on monday when he posted on our board, can see him sneaking out quietly b4 the final whistle now. sad mug.

Agree0 Disagree0

They unfortunatelly havent got the balls to be optomistic when weve had a coaple of poor results and would rather wimp out and start crying about everything, good job weve got some proper fans who will support the lads through everything no matter what. they will be spouting off again on sunday if we lose to the hammers, just the way they are as they havent grown a pair yet. mot

Just totally elated.....

Went to Elland Road tonight after a long absence, far too long, but living 150 miles away and working near Brighton gives me a little excuse?

I seriously was not prepared for what I saw tonight though.

Travelled over to the ground from Hellaby with some help and advice from others, got the local bus to the ground and after an absence of around 5 years I was truly impressed with what has happened at Elland Road

Anybody on here who kicks Ken Bates and his investment obviously hasn't been to the ground and seen where it is going, I was so proud to see the team I have supported for over 40 years get the investment they need, do you remember the trees growing up inside the stadium on the Lowfield Road side of the ground?

When I watched the team announced on the big screen I was looking for a weak link, but couldn't find one?

I watched a Leeds team more or less destroy Hull and anybody who can find a single negative (ok perhaps Tom Lee's own goal which he more than made up for) was obviously not at the ground~

Lonergan was superb, Paddy kept the team in check, everyone played well.

But the one outstanding player, for me, was Keough, and that isn't taking anything away from the rest of the team.

He has the ability to intercept, hold balls up and pass, he made a serious difference to the team tonight, and anyone who kicks Grayson needs to seriously take themselves in hand?

Can't say any more than thanks to the people there for making my night so special, and I hope it isn't as long before I get back to Elland Road.....

All smiles

Leeds4alongtime ( a very very very long time) {Ed025's Note - glad you enjoyed it..

Believable8 Unbelievable0

Ed - to say I enjoyed it is a total understatement - thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought Lonergan was outstanding last night...
Clayton and Keogh were superb, Nunez always a threat and McCormack looked a different player with Keogh alongside him - things are looking good 4-4-2 lets keep it going

Agree0 Disagree0

Amazing how many people on monday slagged of keogh and the one who slagged off lonergan and said we should get stockdale have you seen the goals he as been letting in..sg and bates to stay lets hope it carries on this sunday

When will you muppets wake up and smell the coffee, we are a "big" club but we are skint and not willing to spend stupid money on a one season kamikaze attempt to get promoted, SG is building slowly and surely, Clayton has been slagged off from day 1 on here but has been our best player so far, Lees is quality and will play every game if fit (future captain), with Keogh (who was sold way too soon) & Brown (old but still a competitor) & once Becchio is fit we have an 18-20 man group who are as good as anybody else in the division (barring West Ham posssibly), get a grip, a bit of confidence and support from the crowd and we will be flying, it ain't gonna change any time time soon, so make the most of what we've got and get behind the boys. MOT. {Ed025's Note - well said mate..
