Its been bubbling up for some time now, long before we achieved promotion as champions. Players expressing their desire to play for Leeds. Pundits glorifying Bielsaball. Nobodies such as Agbonlahahahaha and Villa Dave who want to be seen saying the right things about Leeds. Foreign TV broadcasters queuing up to interview the Messiah. Investors such as the 49's wanting to pump money into the club Every minuet of every game being broadcasted throughout the world. The England manager watching every game.

Could the impossible be happening? Is there a sea change in opinions as to the way we should play football in this country?

I might have consumed too much Sam Smiths OBB but I find myself asking the question :-

ARE LEEDS BECOMING FAMOUS AGAIN!

Not one of you acknowledged the fact I praised your result last night, you only came back with negative remarks.
Thank you for your respect George.

Err actually no VD as have the Villa down to be one of the bottom 3 bankers come end of season πŸ˜€

And especially after the FA deduct from Villa the same number of disqualification points on Grealish ' driving 'licence for setting an appalling example and bringing the game into disrepute πŸ˜€

Seriously though what is going on with Grealish? He is trawling your club through the sewers with endless bad press and disrepute.

Day after that fab result and still :

- buzzing about scoring 5 Leeds United goals!

- buzzing about 5 different Leeds United scorers!

- buzzing about Legend King Pablo Hernandez πŸ’œ and his 2 assists ⚽️⚽️, such a reassuring asset for the team with Pablo's presence on the pitch, and his much needed ability to create assists and goals!

-buzzing for Bielsa with hopefully the goalscoring momentum of this match

My wish: that Bielsa puts at least one man on the goal line at corners . that 2nd Newcastle goal would have been stopped with a man on the far post!

Great three points but a very strange game. Just before we equalised for the first time I had just written 'excellent in the middle third very average/ poor in the other two thirds' We scored a good goal to go in front then reverted to type to lose the lead again. I was wondering towards the end whether their the virus problems had caught up with them. When Alioski we outnumbered them 3 -1 in and around their penalty spot. That doesn't happen a lot. I Still didn't feel comfortable until the fourth goal went in. They could always get a corner. Overall team performance was very good although Cooper again made some serious mistakes which he was lucky to get away with and Klich looked a bit out of sorts. Odd mistakes by most of the team here and there but very entertaining to watch. Why Roberts is brought on I do not know. Its time one of the youngsters stepped into his place and he worked at getting his act together.

Brilliant second half performance against Bar Codes. 2 assists for the Spanish Magician Pablo Picasso. Shades of a trademark Gary Speed RIP strike with Harrison's wonder goal. In George opinion, we are now exactly halfway toward safety. No way is the 18th team posting more than 33 points by season end. 6 more wins therefore shall do nicely but we're capable of so much more.

Came across an interesting point that has been made about the fitness of our opponents when playing against us.
To keep up with our high intensity of running and speed of our play teams are upping their fitness rate by about 20%, running perhaps about 3kms more than they would in any other match. You could see that with both Chelsea and West Ham.
It was evident with Newcastle last night, they ran out of steam at the end and were punished for it.
If this is the case, I’m curious how this will bode over the season, will we maintain our high levels of fitness while others are starting to tire as the season progresses. ?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

17 Dec 2020 07:30:27
I hope so. Some forecast it will be us that tires but I think this season is easier than last for us in that regard as there are less games. The other side is teams might tire themselves out against us and even prevail such as Chelsea did but then slump in the next game which does little for us but great for teams playing our opponents next up. I think we saw this in the champ also with a lot of teams getting beaten the game after they played us.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Dec 2020 09:23:43
History would suggest mb teams tire out and suffer from
Burn out decline of form after Xmas and this has shown at Leed ms however we got decent depth in squad and play fewer game ms compared to championship so I hope we will be fine.

Firstly I was a bit surprised same line up.
Then it was same old story. Good press but players guilty of woeful finishing. Then once again same old story. The defending from corners and set pieces was woeful and we were punished. To be honest. At 2-2 I thought it was anybody's game. At that point it was still all same old story. I think Pablo made a difference but I also think Bruce's subs were wrong time too and they still went for it. Good on them. Thank you.
Finally they played into our laps and were punished.
Pleased diff players scored tonight and it will do us good and lift us for Man Utd at weekend.
Pleased with Rodrigo Ralph ayling Dallas Bamford and Harrison.
Kp was bossed tonight. Klich hasn't been good for a while and cooper and goalie were awful. Goalie needs to start bloody catching the ball.
I'm wondering if Pablo and rods can start and rest klich. I can see a red coming for him.
At the end I was happy and relieved. Well done most of them.
3 points and some good goals.

17 Dec 2020 07:54:45
I agree Aus, good write up. Klich is worryingly poor at the moment and i thought KP seemed leggy and off a yard, the passing was woeful too on occasions, but hey we won with different scorers so not moaning lol.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Dec 2020 08:21:14
Thought styling was far more at fault for their goals than coops. Albeit coops had a few other shaky moments that could have cost us and Ayling was otherwise excellent. Klich gets through a mountain of work - no way we can have both pans and rod on at the same time unless one of paddy raph or Harrison is sacrificed. Before last night I would have said Harrison but hopefully that signals and timely return to form. Also think Pablo is a 2nd half or last 30 minutes man now (but brilliant at it whether chasing a game or putting it to bed) . It is why he was so effective post lockdown.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Dec 2020 09:21:41
I must have been watching a different game to you Aus, apart from some woeful defending (which is to be expected when Koch and Llorente are injured and we have to rely on Cooper) , I thought it was a pleasure to watch (nervy at times) , but we controlled the game, and if Darlow hadn't have been so good, we could have had 4 in the first half, so I think its a bit strong to say woeful finishing! I also don't believe Philips was 'Bossed' at all and had a great game.
I may have been more drunk than you, but I am very happy with the performance and of course, the result!

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Dec 2020 09:30:27
Great post aus

Glad you thought kp was bossed as I was starting to think I was mad and only one who saw it. Kp has two sides Everton he was a god he was allowed time and space and was man of the match and true quailty but Everton let him play. Last night was less about football and more physical and that doesn’t suit kp. The biggest example of this was ahasin Fulham kp bossed the game Parker made a sub and kp fell apart and cost us two goals. My question is, is there a way around this? A formation that protects kp so we only get the good or do we pick and chose his games better so he plays the better games

Set plays is beyound a joke now, we have to score great goals and break teams down they just need a high ball

Finally we must mention var we have all rightly moan when it cost us last night they made a mistake cooper gave away a pen so it did us a favour

Loved the football last night but it did nothing to change my mind or ease my woes long term.

Players form does peak and trough throughout the season, even world class players like De Bruyne. Klich will get through it, his frustration is very visible.

I watched game at 6am before work midfield. I rest my case.
Don’t think it was a penalty to be honest.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Dec 2020 10:46:29
it was stone wall pen, everyone said it was a pen. end of the day like Bamford offside and koch pen against Liverpool (which were also wrong decions) it don't count but think as leeds fans we are happy to play the poor us card. and rightly so but we need to admit when we were lucky. last night Cooper was very very lucky.

I think he touched ball first tbh and not enough contact.
Not as obvious as prov penalty.
As commentator said. If you give that as a penalty then it was handball too.
