Warnock talking to Bates tomorrow weather he takes job depends on if he can stomach working for Bates

Believable1 Unbelievable1

If he couldnt stomach Bates he wouldnt be going, the Lure of Leeds is too good to turn down,Bates or no Bates.

Agree2 Disagree0

They've already met the picture is on the sun website

Agree4 Disagree0

Wether Warnock takes the job or not depends more on if Bates can stand working with Warnock!!

This may be obvious, but doesn't seem to have appeared here anywhere?

Why the f**k is Lonergan Leeds Captain?

To me he is one of the weakest players on the pitch, has never shown any real loyalty (to any club) and we have the likes of Clayton, White, Becchio and Snodgrass who give their all??

Believable6 Unbelievable5

I agree in part - I think he's a good player, he was playing well before his injury and came back when the whole side was clearly lacking confidence. Where I do agree though is that he shouldn't be captain, ive always believed that it should be a defender or midfielder - someone who is running around the pitch and can communicate constantly rather than someone pretty much stuck in his area. Give it to Clayton or Snoddy

I honestly hope that redfearn would play Pugh in the middle tomorrow and white at lb with either rogers or Townsend on the wing because everyone apart fro the michael brown lovers know anyone can do a better job than him !!!!!

Believable7 Unbelievable0

And just WHO is Rogers?

Actually WE all know who he is but Redfearn doesn't seem to realise he exists?

Fortunately Redfearn will no longer be in charge, come saturday night....

Agree6 Disagree0

Would be nice to see what he's about. any international must be decent.

Peter lorimer, It is really sad to see a Leeds United 'legend' making a fool of himself. Remember why Bates took you on board - to keep the fans on side! Unfortunately, as you can see from the posts on your latest missive, you are failing miserably. When you are no longer useful to the Bates regime you will be out. Of course it is difficult to keep 30 professionals happy. They need competitive football to try and impress to get selected for the team. Who's idea was it to withdraw the Reserves from the Pontins League? Where are the out of favour senior pros and 'hungry' youngsters supposed to get an opportunity to impress? I now refuse to put any more money in to the Bates account. There will come a day when Leeds Utd are Bates FREE but your part in propping up his regime will be long remembered. Do yourself a favour and RESIGN now. Your are now the Lord Haw-Haw of football, employed (used) to spout Bates's rubbish. BATES OUT!

Believable6 Unbelievable2

As a 50 year old brought up watching Lorimer every week with my Grandad and Uncle it breaks my heart to have lost all respect for one of my boyhood heroes. I occasionally go to events where Lorimer is present - an old school mate of mine writes LUFC related stuff and he's one of the regular guests at launches etc. If I do see him again I'll be making my views pretty clear - as we all should at Lorimer's Bar and other events.

Agree3 Disagree0

I watched Lorimer play, and despite what you may think he's the first 'staff' member thats told it like it is, Grayson had definitely lost the confidence of the team, and was out of his depth.

Lorimer doesn't need to be around Leeds, but he has shown his loyalty, and I'm the first to respect that.

Anyone who questions Lorimers loyalty clearly hasn't been around for the forty plus years that I have supported my team

Agree2 Disagree3

No matter what is going in our club at the moment please everyone leave our legends alone . I'm Irish , 50 years old , and a Leeds fan all my life . Regular visitor to ER for the past 30 years . Please dont let Bates poison any true Leeds fan against the guys who made us what we are . MOT. Keep the faith . Bates will go . Leeds will always be there .

Agree2 Disagree1

He's a legend for what he did on pitch no doubt, but he is not doing himself any favours with the stuff he is spouting at the moment. And he(and Bates) are doing in knowing that Grayson cant answer back

Agree2 Disagree0

I'm the original poster and I can assure you that I HAVE been around for 40+ years. I went to my first match as a 9 year old in February 1970 and have been going ever since.

Lorimer has not been 'telling it like it is' - he's been acting as Bates's mouthpiece and has been behaving pathetically. Maybe Grayson had done all he could but that is not a good reason to mouth off in the press about a manager who brought a moderate degree of success to the club after years of failure. It's unprofessional, undignified and shows a lack of respect. Knowing his comments are not shared by many Leeds fans simply brings the club into disrepute - again. Shameful.

A big contrast to Grayson's dignified silence. {Ed013's Note - I agree, Lorimer has gone down in my own opinion}

No matter what --- I will there tomorrow singing my heart out for the lads

MOT

Woody

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Me too - but it will be a heavy heart and much harder work than it should be. MOT.

Agree3 Disagree1

Me also.. Like others I have been doing plenty of moaning after the match in recent results but still look forward to matchday itself .

Agree3 Disagree0

I will be there too. And it is getting harder to get behind the lads and create a good atmosphere. This is because of all the idiots constantly booing and Bates-outing. Sing something positive for once lads!!

Agree1 Disagree0

Lets hope getting warnock in will lift the place again, he as the passion of a leeds fan, and yes i dont like him, but he is the best out the by a mile! mot

Warnock spotted at Thorp Arch according to twitter hence odds at bookmakers slashed.

17 Feb 2012 15:13:56
team line up in my opinion for staurday should be a 4-1-2-1-2

Lonergan
smith - lees - obrien - pugh
clayton
snodgrass white
Nunez
mccormack becchio

would be a quality team, nunez being a game changer when played in the correct position !

Believable2 Unbelievable5

Would like to see Rogers in that team, see what he can do.

Agree3 Disagree0

Looks good going forward but not much mf cover, redfern has says poss 3 changes

Agree0 Disagree0

We need to play 1 goalkeeper and 10 defenders and maybe we will stay up

Agree1 Disagree2

And just where are we going to find any of these 10 defenders then?

Right, so you sack the manager that got you promoted when your 3 points off the play offs, right at the end of the transfer window... Just after losing to one ofvthe top 2 teams and just before 4 'very winnable' games...
So, you d think someone had a pretty good plan at this point... There was an experienced manager waiting in the wings to take over at such a VITAL point in the season, when a good run could secure a play off spot and possible promotion to the riches of the premiership.
No? Instead, nothing... They don t seem to have a scooby doo. I was a big Grayson fan. I thought he did a good job with little money, but fair enough, maybe he had taken us as far as he could. Maybe Bates didn' t trust him to spend some big cash on some decent players.
I m still hopeful, but am starting to lose faith... Why at such an important time in the season haven't we got a manager? By the time we get one and he gets his ideas across and puts a rocket up some of their lazy *rses

Believable5 Unbelievable3

I think he was planning on getting NW straight away but the compo from QPR held us up. Agree with u on SG, he will be a better manager for the experience too.

Agree1 Disagree1

Yeh, but if the plan was to wait for Warnock to sort out his compensation, why not keep SG in position over these 4 winnable games? We could be in a much healthier position with maybe 3 or 4 more points at least. The season could effectively be over for us if we don t win today.
Ok, so maybe Bates wanted rid of SG and used the B'ham defeat as a convenient excuse... But that could have cost us any chance of promotion this year.
Either get rid after losing 3 in a row over Xmas so the new boss can get in some new players, or keep SG on until the manager we want comes available.
The timing of this has been a disaster and wastes the whole season. {Ed020's Note - my contact close to gwyn williams said that gwyn hated him and was really angry after the b'ham game, i think that was the last straw, not a get out clause for them to get rid.}

I was there as Im sure some of you were.
The spirit, the passion, the noise, the support.

I'm not going Saturday, while ever that b**tard is in charge I'm not going again.

I'll be Leeds long after he goes, I was leeds long before he came and I am Leeds now. Away matches I'm there every week, he still makes money but much less.

Lets get this Miller guy in to spend some money, bring back the passion, the noise, lets make teams s**t theirselves again when they turn up at Elland Road. We need leaders, starting with Neil Warnock and Chris Miller. On the pitch we need a captain who bleeds Leeds United and players who put their bodies on the line each week because 40,000 people are singing for them.

That's what I want.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

You won't be going for a while because I can't see Bates leaving..as for not going tomorrow or while Bates is at the realm I don't think it is the right thing to do the team itself needs all the support it can get at present.

Agree4 Disagree3

Heard from someone well in the know at Thorp Arch that Bates will not sell even for £100m-he doesn't need the money and apparently his wife told my source that he was a broken man after he sold Chelsea-he is with us until he dies!

Agree0 Disagree2

Im with you ! but i think Bates will be here for a while as the saying goes "only the good die young "so Bates will be here when hes 120 !

Agree3 Disagree0

90million is the figure he's on record as valuing the club at. Liverpool, OWNERS of Anfield with the greatest European history of any British club, was sold for 70m. I think Bates may be taking the p1ss with his valuation. Sadly, he has no intention of going anywhere...

Agree0 Disagree1

Lets just remember that Bates is a lot older than most of us, even those of us who have been supporting for 40 years plus, respect to those even older!

We will be here long after he has gone, do you not remember the sh*t we had to endure with Brian Cluff & Terry Vegetables? Not to mention the tw*t Ridsdale?

All long gone, WE are still here!

MOT together, forever!!

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Feb 2012 11:32:49
If Bates refuses to spend money on our squad, he could at least put in a 5 or 10k bid for Snodgrass' boots for that poor little girl couldn't he?

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Yes he could and should. Like Drogba could actually build that hospital he keeps raising fund for out of his own petty cash.

Agree2 Disagree0

Yeah, and just like the Leeds players in the Ridsdale era could've stuck their hand in their pockets to support Leeds.........

what planet are you on?

These people have one motivation, and it isn't charity....

people who will turn the back on leeds just because of bates < we all hate him>make me laugh how can they be leeds through and through we dont need them anyway im a leeds fan because for football alot of part time leeds fans just want to go behind the scenes and dig at bates hes not going to sell until a silly offer come in so just get behind the players and stop moaning about every little bit that goes wrong if leeds go up this year or next year i could guarantee elland road will be a sell out week in week out and all will say its down to bates the best squad weve had in years lets be honest we were in a worst position years ago we are a club that needed to start again and were getting there slowly you have to be honest that we did better last season punched aboved our weight but we need to build. ps we all hate bates but leeds united was there before bates and will be there long after the old git has gone so get real get behind the lads

Believable8 Unbelievable4

What about leeds fans who have been priced away from elland road due to rancid ken are they " fake" leeds fans?

Agree9 Disagree2

I'm not going on holiday next year so I can have a season ticket instead. You make the necessary cuts. Leeds first, always.

Agree6 Disagree3

I got priced out by risdale! And its the geldard. The mops in liverpool.

Agree3 Disagree0

Go up this year or next your having a laugh, what players are you going to have after the summer ?not snodgrass not white not mc cormack not clayton,Bates is bleeding it dry and most can see it.

Agree1 Disagree2

I will NEVER turn my back on Leeds, but I will not give Bates any more of my hard earnt money when I have family who need that money. Bates saved our club, but he is now taking the pi$$

i agree with the poster that thinks redfern will stay ive just got this feeling win or lose he will stay i no you cant build ateam on 3 or 4 games but i think some of his team selections and decisions have been strange but to give the players and fans a big lift he needs to appoint someone quite high profile now because the ground will only be a quarter full soon if something does not change

Believable3 Unbelievable3

16 Feb 2012 23:16:59
Ive decided to see if a petition at all will convice Ken to go or if we can rally enough support to take the club for the fans. Don't know it will do any good but is worth a try is it not? instead of venting try and do something...

www.change.org/petitions/take-leeds-united-back-we-need-to-either-group-together-and-fight-bates#

Believable2 Unbelievable7

What part of he owns the club and only selling up or dying will make him leave don't you understand?!?!

It's not like he's been appointed and you can plea with his boss - he is the boss for gods sake......how is this not sinking in with people. Protests and petitions will not do a thing

Agree4 Disagree2

What's the 'either' all about? What are you going to do if you don't group together?

Agree4 Disagree1

I agree with first reply what a waste of time, and while people like you keep doing this he will never sell the club! its not the time to buy a football club, they all lose millions apart from us!! look at portsmouth in administration again! look at rangers they are knackered but will get bought as they are in top league at the top with loyal fans who love rangers not who own them!!!! MOT is not true anymore

Agree2 Disagree2

Ha ha ha . Petitions and Ken?!!?? Ha ha ha.
Think of the trees and dont waste paper you numpty.

Agree3 Disagree1

Only one thing will affect Bates and that is an empty stadium.

Unfortunately we know it would also kill the team we support?

Would be worth watching the horror on his face though to realise nobody is going to put money into his pocket?
