Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

Its as simple as this, if leeds sell rm it is showing weakness and a total step back. We are supposed to be building a team for contention . He is our spark as all you lot know. We need 3 key signings after we hopefully get rid of the deadwood. 1. Fast winger 2.CF 3. CB. I believe with these 3 signings added to the squad we have 100% a chance of the playoffs.
P.S bit disapointed with the result against sheff. These are the sort of games we should be winning but a points a point at the end of the day.
What 3 players do you guys think.

I don't think we need a striker. With 5 or 6 already on the books. Its not neccessary. I reakon RossM has it in him to score 20 or so this season. So that would give us the top scorer we all crave.

A CB is neccessary, I don't know who, but a few have already slipped by, Kilgallon, Upson, Dunne so we need to act fast, there has to be another free signing out there.

With regards to wingers, I don't know what the obsession is. Yes we do need them and it would be great, but there is no point in just buying one, if we were to invest we would need 2 to balance things off. We have too many centre mids and playing with wingers would mean a full revamp of the system BMD has already been working on for tha last 3 months or so.

For wingers I really liked the look of Brady for Hull yesterday. I don't know if he was a loanee or a full transfer but we could really do with looking at the loan market from the prem to find one or two. But I know BMD is against this.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think McCormack, EHD & White will all go.
It's shows just how poor our fringe players are though when nobody is interested in them, even though they know we are desperate to offload.
I also think the players BMD has in mind are Lee Tomlin, Harry Maguire and Ebanks-Blake.
Matt Mills' wage will be too much so would be surprised to see him in a Whites shirt.
No matter what happens I have total faith in BMD & will be behind him 110%.

We all love Leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Im absolutely amazed that 2nd poster says we don't need a striker.
who is going to score 20 plus this season?
ross.good player but comes from deep, hardly a poacher.will score odd good goal.
hunt.plays on right.works hard but will get 5 prob.
varney.same as hunt.plays on left.works hard but will get little amount.
poleon.
good talent but puts his head down too much.will get a few but no more than that.
smith, great sub but again won't get too many as a sub.
I would sell ross but only at decent money and only if top striker comes in.ideally keep ross and get a striker but we won't score enough as thinks are. shrew leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

We have 6 strikers. Where are we going to fit another in.
Poleon, Smith, Varney, Hunt, Ross M and Diouf (strker of sorts).

If we bought another in what would happen to 2 of the others. RossM is the only in that list that would command his plac and IMO should be pushed up front, the rest can be rotated. Another new striker would mean he is first choice, so would end up dirupting the "harmony" we have with the guys upfront.

If I had the choice of 3 players, I would say a CB and 2 wingers. We don't need anothe striker.

and RossM will get 20 this season if played in the right way. He already has 2 in 3.

I am the 2nd poster, obviously this is only my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

I respect your opinion, just I think we need a real striker threat.someone who plays on the centre halves shoulder and is in the box when the ball is played.
its not about getting rid of anyone its about gfh taking a little speculative money to get in a few more players.
if we got in matt mills, billy sharpe and tommy rowe for example then don't think anyone would complain and it would show massive statement to us the fans. shrew leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Noted, I do however think BMD jumped the gun a little with Hunt and Smith. Smith I could justify, young, going to improve and may have a degree of sell on value. But Hunt doesn't offer us anything different to what we have apart from hard working.

I would still say if we were to sign 3 players, the 2 wingers and a CB should be the positions we fill. I would love to see Burke and Rowe (or maybe another league one player), with Mills at the back. We missed out on Upson, Kilgallon and Dunne. But is suspect their wages were too high

At this stage I believe that we will not sign 3 players, 2 tops, a CB and I don't know what else. If a striker does come, one will head out and the only ones left on the list are RossM, El Haj and Varney. Poleon will stay

Saturday was not good the attendance was down for two reasons way higher prices than Brighton, plus it was free to view on sky, most people I spoke with at the match thought it was silly to charge top wack for a game tevised free. As to the game. What has not been mentioned yet is this, Leeds were bullied all round the park by a team mostly over 6 foot, the referee was terrible and gave no protection to leeds players which encouraged the opposition to carry on committing fouls, But that aspect apart united were very poor and apart from Ross and a couple more showed no class at all. BMc. Needs backing in this transfer window we all know that, Seemingly except the owners whoever they might be. But I would say to these people thank you for what you have done so far, But please if you cannot back Brian md, then take your profit and sell to someone who can take this great club forward. Lufc supporters suffered ten years of bates, who nearly ruined this club. We cannot wait another ten years for you to get your act together.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The Leeds attendance was still the highest in the football league yesterday.

Agree0 Disagree0

It was a good attendance considering everyone in England could have watched it on freeview or sky. That stops people coming from up and down the country.

Agree0 Disagree0

And it was an early kick off which makes it harder for long distance fans.

Also thought plenty of people played well on Sat. The defence looked pretty good again with Austin in front. Mid field was pretty good (except Green) and Ross was the creative spark. Poleon was the wrong choice against such a big physical team (should have started Smith then used Poleon as impact) and Varney struggled.

The second half was encouraging and held up to a notoriously physical team.

these are the ratings in my opinion on the game v sheff wed.
Kenny:6 He made a few good saves and did not really make any mistakes.
Peltier:6 Defensively solid but needs to get forward more.
Lees:5 Was very quiet but nearly made a decisive mistake.
Pearce: 5 Again very quiet.
Warnock:6 Did make a mistake but still he got forward and showed us how important he is.
Austin:8 Made some teriffic tackles and led by example a great choice for captaincy.
Murphy:6 Decent performance and tried to contribute like Austin Just Without the same affect.
Green: 4 he was awful his passing was shocking no suprise he got subbed.
Varney: 5 Did not really do a lot to light up the game
Poleon:7 His pace caused trouble and really carried a threat but needs to be less gready and got easily fustrated.
Mcormack:6 Did not really do anything until his goal which was fantastic hopefully he will stay.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Disagree regarding a few of our players.
Pearce impressed me, looked strong and composed.
Austin was disappointing, poor passing range. However I believe he is a leader.
I like green a lot but I agree he was under-par.
Poleon showed potential but seemed to freeze once getting into promising positions.
2 wingers please mcd

Agree0 Disagree0

Pearce played well imo, as he did against brighton and leicester. Its Lees who looks all over the place to me. Also peltier looked ok after a lot of stick. I think the system is the main problem. We need a winger and soon, some tough fixtures coming up, vinny.

Must agree with some of the comments about people being negative. gzzzzzzz what do people expect from a yorkshire derby where both teams don't want to give anything away. plus the fact wednesday towered over our players in height and look a very physical team. please more positive attributes as I thought we did ok yesterday on these facts alone.

A bit worried that the MCcormack situation has not been put to bed by our owners, I think the problem is Ross now wants a new deal, paying the same as other offers. IMO he won't get a new deal. He signed one last year, and we are needing a player off the wage bill to sign another player, keeping the wage bill as it is now and not increasing it. So no way will any player get a improved deal, I don't think he will be aloud to go but money talks, and Brian needs to make room for new players.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'll pose a question, here: is there any player in the current squad which you think is likely to get an improved deal at this point of the season?

Why all the talk of player going out without the mention of Aidy White, he is crap and has been wanted by other clubs, let's take the 50p he is worth and get the tosser off the wage bill!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hes just signed a new contract less that 12 months ago so if he goes without asking we would need to pay out his contract or give him a pay off so not freeing any wages up

Agree0 Disagree0

Ironically this "crap" player seems to be the only one attracting any interest from other clubs

I cannot wait for byram to come back, we are missing him badly!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We may be missing him badly but; I don't want him rushed back and aggravate the injury more

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree we lacked that width against sheff wed lee peltier defended well but he needs to get forward more.

Also I think austin deserves the captaincy he really gave his all and his form is returning

Agree0 Disagree0

I think BMC may play him on the wing and keep pelts at RB, that would solve one winger issue

Agree0 Disagree0

Not really mate defencily we have been good only a few cracks but I agree we need him for his attacking quality's

Don't understand the obsession with Matt Mills. Leicester & Bolton fans have nothing but negative comments about him. Besides, he'll be on about 25k

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I know it was only Sheffield Wednesday but I was there today and saw the full game against Leicester and the defence looked good in both games. We have Sam to come back which gives us options around Peltier moving to the centre. What we desperately lack though is a winger. Who is Ryan Hall?

Agree0 Disagree0

We are only desperate for a new cental defender.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe you should ask one or two Reading fans . they may just give you a totally different response. He was class when he played for them and just what's needed and would enable BMcD to play a back 3 plus wing backs.

JDC

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently he was class at Reading, under (guess who) Brian McDermott. I think he would be a great signing for us, just what we need. Then one winger, because we can utilise white or diouf as the other winger, or even varney. MOT

Brian McDermott said in the post match interview 'we don't have a winger'. I would love to know what has happened to Ryan Hall he is one of the very few players we have actually bought. He seems terrible maybe that's why he wasnt acknowledged. Get rid of the useless names we have clogging up the wage bill.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The owners of lufc need to sell up. Take their profit . Let a new owner who has the means to take this club foreward. We have had ten years of disaster with bates, Enough is enough, either support the manager or sell to. Someone who will

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with this post, iff they can't afford to back the manager then yes please sell to someone who can for the sake of lufc and all the fans, MOT.

Agree0 Disagree0

Someone has to want to buy before you can sell . if you know any interested parties, send their names on a postcard to LUFC, LS11.

JDC

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok and you do the same.

Agree0 Disagree0

Buy all accounts gfh have already been quietly selling off some of their stakes to interested party's, as usual we the fans don't know who!

Whist at the game today, I made passing comment to my Dad that Tommy Rowe would be useful on the wing, an area we are severely lacking, and almost immediately 2 or 3 people around us dismissed the idea, as "We could never afford him". We can't afford a League One footballer from Peterborough! I knew it to be true, but only this morning I'd watched a classic Leeds v Liverpool on Sly Sports where Viduka scored 4 goals, a game I was at. The fall from grace has been cataclysmic. I feel we've suffered enough now, it's time for the good stuff again. If GFH can't provide BMD with two half decent players, then feck off and give someone else a chance.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Amen! .

Agree0 Disagree0

Fed up of people bleating about what we can or can't afford and assuming it would be any different with someone else in charge. I, for one, have no wish to replay the last decade of pain. Throwing around money chasing the dream burned us worse than almost any other team of our stature.
It'll take time to sort things out. reuniting Elland Road and Thorpe Arch with the club are a must in building for the future. The team will slowly be improved but this would be quicker if some of the dross were saleable.
They're not so we could be honouring contracts for useless players for another season-or-two.
I would hope that any other owner of Leeds would take the same view/approach. The wage structure CANNOT spiral out of control. It underpins our potential for success at this level. It will be the basis on which we build for the future, not overextending ourselves but gradually improving. Yes, that could take another couple of seasons but we WILL see the benefit.
It's called business and when you strip away all the showbiz and emotion, that's exactly what football is. GFH are doing it right but they've inherited more than a few issues which they appear to be sorting out. Not by pressing the panic button and paying people out of contracts, doubling per-position wages over a season, but by getting rid where possible and winding contracts down where the dross attracts no interest.
We'll be back there. You've waited a decade. Sit tight and wait a couple more seasons of sound financial dealing and the showbiz and emotion will flow.
