So let's get this right. Latest crazy Brighton valuation of Ben White is £50M if the rumours are to be believed but they only offer him a £20k a week contract extension. Also, all 6 top clubs have supposedly enquired about him but no offers as of yet (er, that will be because the price is absolutely ridiculous-compare Koch and Foyth valuations who have both ALREADY got international experience and have both ALREADY played at a higher level than Ben) .
Would love to see White back but either:
£50m-Ben White
£50m-And one of each Koch/ Foyth, Eze/ Benrahma/ Gonzalez and Cabral/ Watkins. hmm
Sorry for the long first post guys but Brighton are being ridiculous and I think are just trying to get us to waste time and weaken us for the start of next season, seeing us as bottom half of the table rivals.

The BW ' transfer ' saga has indeed become a complete waste of time for Leeds though not for Brighton with their ever increasing OTT valuations
I hope Leeds are very busy proceeding with their other choices of centre back because BW certainly isn't coming to Leeds at least this season anyhow.
We can hope for some form of karma in Potter receiving his well earned P45 at the end of the season having relegated Brighton .

We should of had a CB lined up as soon as we knew were promoted . Someone should be at the club now learning the Bielsa way and ready to play on September 12th . Let's be brutal here if cooper and strujk is going to be our first team pairing in the premier league with no back up then we are in for a rough ride .

I won’t be disrespectful to White what ever happens, think he did us a grand job, would like him to join us but the best price wins, for me a solid defence is worth a goal. We need to build a team around young players and believe that is what the management was doing by buying all those for the future players, thanks for what you done Ben.

Those Nicolás Gonzales rumours still haven't gone way . It's been 1 month since he indicated he wanted to leave and about 3 weeks since we were supposedly interested. Surely you'd think by now the selling club would have a valuation and the buying club would be yes or no.

Alf - I know what you mean and share your frustration at the waste involved - I feel survival for 2 to 3 years in the prem and bring on the youth to then really establish us as a force with one or two quality additions is the way forward - I would almost prefer to be a mid table outfit with home grown talent than a billionaires toy like Citeh etc. (That is a little tongue in cheek as I would love "revenge" from Europe 1975 which still rankles me to this date! )

It is easy to spend someone elses millions! Our expectation should be to find diamonds in the rough and let Bielsa make the most of them. The owners hopefully run a club as a proper business and not into the ground like Ridsdale managed to do. In many ways football is much more of a joyous sport in the lower divisions where success cannot simply be bought by billionaire arabs or whatever. We all want success as Leeds United - at what cost - when does it not become Leeds United but just some Rich Guy United. Hope you understand what I am getting at here!

That's just what Kinnear is saying but we may well still have to pay the full balance. This one isn't over yet. What is sure is that we wasted 3.5mil on him last season and may yet have to pay more. If we'd paid out for a proper, fit player instead of trying to do everything on the cheap we might have been better off in the long run.

As I read these posts it strikes me as same story different year. Just change the names. Every close season we discuss the merits of A, B and C. Players whose only connection in the main part, is their mention by some journo desperate to look "in the know" and sell column inches to his editor.
All along in the background Radz and Orta are clocking up the miles in their search for a (cheap) suitable recruit. Players X, Y and Z.
In the past I have joined in and frolicked in the goss. but this year I have learnt my lesson and will just sit back and see what comes. Over his short tenure I have learnt that I may disagree with Bielsas choices but accept that he is one of the few diamond polishing experts in the game today. So with that in mind I too scan the news every day but will accept it whatever it may be and look forward to our bunch of diamonds upsetting the Prem next year.

Harrison already a loan player, I think its 2 at a time, no more than 4 in a season, only 1 per club, i think that's right, that's why I think we should of paid the 8 for harrison, IMO.

It's a shame for Ben White, he is only a 40 mil defender because he was under the tutelage of Bielsa . The likelihood he will go backwards at Brighton with a championship level coach .
I assume Brighton will play him because if they value him at 40-50 then if he doesn't get game time are they suggesting that Duffy and Dunk and the new boys they've signed are worth more or are better.

If the rumour being touted that Ben White is resisting Brighton's efforts to get him to sign a new deal and that he is hoping that he gets his move to Leeds, why would be not try and help the situation by putting in a transfer request. He is in danger that we just turn our attention else where as we need to get a deal done soon for a new centre half. Trouble is players don't really want to put in a transfer request as it could impact on them financially . Time maybe to move on from the chase for Ben White.

For a young man who has yet to earn big money, that is a chance to set himself and his family up for life and very difficult to give up. You have to remember that he is at Brighton, never made a league appearance for them and they do not pay big money to their youth players. £2m is lifechanging money for someone like him.}

Ben White and his family have a big decision to make, it will be a gamble whichever he decides, stay at Brighton or hand in a transfer request for Leeds. Two million is a big gamble to lose with a move to us, respectively if he doesn’t excel in the Premier league with either club or gets a very serious injury.
However what does look blindingly apparent is that his football has excelled with Bielsa and his Leeds team mates and only looks to get better, can he improve with Brighton and Potter?
It’s a tough decision for this very young man, I hope he makes the right one for himself.
That’s considering one of the big guns don’t come in for him.

Brighton want to keep him or sell him for the highest price, we want to buy him and White as Ed quite rightly says, wants to make the most of this situation for him and his family which still might be the best contract negotiating position he is ever in in his career!

The thing I'm most pleased to see is that we have an alternative. Koch looks a very good composed player and to be capped by germany (albeit the german team isn't what it was) is some feat for a lad of 24. At 9 million he could be a steal, his versatility is very attractive in a bielsa team.
Batshuayi would be a top top signing. Bamford better hope he has a good preseason because whoever comes in I'm sure he'll mean business.
