When Pontus talks about what he wants to do at ER I just want to follow him to the gates of hell and buy him a kebab. Please let this man be the real deal.

If he stays and we go up he's the type who could very easily become a Legend. He's knocking on that door right now.

Adam Forshaw transfer confirmed for £4.5 million! Seems very positive, not surprised with the higher fee as it is always difficult to get players on the cheap in January. Maybe a striker next - who would you like to see come in?

Surprised that the fee is so high but yes a decent sign of intent. He’s quite small though apparently but hopefully not in stature

It wasn't too long ago he was being touted as an England player

Strachan was small and he turned out to be a bloody good signing, Brian Flynn was small, Rod Wallace, even Batty wasn’t that tall so as I keep telling my lass, size really doesn’t matter! MOT

I feel radz is making a well taught out plan for promotion expect to see a striker and maybe even cb 2 weeks to go at least 1 more. Why would we not be pleased.

Oh! how I look back with nostalgia and yearn for the good old days . Those dream filled days, days, days . filled with complete and utter mayhem with owners, directors and managers who were just utter rubbish and destroyed our great club. Fast forward to now and we are on a stable footing, moving in the right direction, we may not be going as quick as we all would like however we are building and every day we are a day stronger and a day closer ALAW

Maddison for £3m plus Sacko permanent? I'd throw in Grotbags too but that can't be done until July. We need Marriott too but that's going to require another £4.5m. #buybritish 🇬🇧

Will be interesting to see the effect Pullis has on Boro. They're obviously making room for a couple of signings by selling Forshaw and probably Clayton. I'm hoping he doesn't persuade Crouch to sign for them as I reckon his goals would get them up in what is already going to be a tough run in for us. Was hoping we'd have signed the lanky streak of p**s but I'm guessing we wouldn't be able to afford his wages. Still a very good player imo and hopefully he'll stay at Stoke. MM

MM More pertinently, what effect is your SIL having on you these days? Binoculars "coming" in "handy"?

18 Jan 2018 15:37:03
Thanks for the interest George. It's difficult to form a loving relationship when you've got a restraining order, so yes the binoculars do come in very handy. She did make me laugh the other day when she finally answered my fifteenth call at 2:30am with "f**k off you weird p**sed up stalker"! I had a little chuckle at her playful banter before replying "I am not a stalker, I just happen to be at the same place at the very same time you are. By the way, you're out of ice cream and dog food". MM

Pulis is great and I'd be shocked if he don't get them promoted and make the difference. If we don't go up and Bentiez leaves newcastle we have to go for him, he will manage in championship and we are more stable than newcastle. go in for him with silly bonus if he gets us up. if we throw enough money at him he might come and would be so important to us

The financial situation we are in dictates the type of player and where we have to look. Our marketplace would be; the out of favours, the young kid with promise, the old good oldie with hopefully a couple more years in him or scour the backwaters of europe for a cheap talent on nothing wages. Until we reach the land of milk and honey, that is our lot and no amount of profligate spending will bring that land nearer. So, for now, let's just back the powers that be and if it's next year then so be it but whenever it is I don't want to watch a yoyo team, spanked by every prem team and straight back down again. No let's hope that what we have plus the "ones for the future" will give us a fighting chance when we go up. Yes I know some of us will not see 50 again so Radz, let's not hang about eh.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

18 Jan 2018 14:01:05
I disagree. I reckon. 3-5 good ones for now would have cost less than the 10 maybes and 37.5 for the future ones we bought. let's get up before building for the future. Arse about face i reckon!

Agree4 Disagree2

18 Jan 2018 14:32:23
Agree 100% leodis. Ausman why would you prioritize going up before building for the future? Imo makes much more sense to build for the future and then be a constant prem team, like Southampton etc. rather than like Sunderland etc.

Agree2 Disagree1

18 Jan 2018 14:41:42
I totally agree with your post as of my previous post this week. For the first time in over ten years we have stability and maybe its me been nostalgic but going back to the team consisting of Kewell smith hart boweyer woodgate robinson ect all you talented players brought through the ranks be it apprentices or young rising players from other teams, so if this regime for bringing in young unproven talent to mix with the players in the under 23 s and younger is how we proceed without splashing silly millions then in the board and the manager i trust. The last thing i want to see is leeds in the premiership been thumped every week but everyone (mainly the media and ex star footballers saying leeds are a big club and there shock results. So if the board consider that building from within is the way forward i back them 100%. Ps i have been wathing leeds home and away since 1970 so yes i would love the glory days back But let's be patient.

The Foreshaw debate is down to 3 things, Pedigree, we think he has that, Fitness, can he still play to a good enough level and then Form can he produce on any given day. They are the questions that need answers. Think the Fitness question is answered in the medical . So if he passes that it will be down to him reproducing some form in our current system. Pullis probably got rid to free up some wages and most likely thinks he don't suit his system or style of play.

After final whistle against losing at Newport County aorta should have been straight onto their chairman about signing Wilmott. The guy was class. No more mention about the links to signing Peterborough midfielder, would love Clayton to re-sign. Can't understand our transfer policy of bringing in youth for the future when you need quality senior players to drive them on. Plenty of players who know and can hack it and shine in our league who won't break the wage structure. Glad we are moving some players on who clearly are not good enough. Onwards and upwards, here's hoping for signing of a decent striker who we have actuallly heard of.

a centre back like James Collins would be great for this league, imo. Doesn't get much game time with west ham either. And a striker like Maupay from brentford who seems to be back up to Vibe. (Also scored against us recently)

Great to see that the club have announced the £220k for Toby Nye's treatment has been raised and will commence next week. The Chairman, staff and fans have all contributed to raise £175k and the final £25,000 was donated by Sammy Saiz (may have been a club fine for gobbing on a Newport player but who cares) . Fantastic gesture, which shows we are one big family. I can't remember the last time this club felt so together. Ffs I'm welling up now! #ALAW. MM

I hope Forshaw does well but there is always a doubt when players drop down pecking orders. Lasogga was top once, Bridcutt was great but he slipped down as hasn't reached his former heights. There are lots of players who have a good few seasons then fade never to return. That's the danger of getting players who lose favour. They are exceptions - like Ayling of course but there are not too many. Forshaw had got out of favour before Pulis arrived. The new manager has done his assessment and agreed with his predecessor and has got rid. One would assume that if we were to play against Middlesborough or teams with equally good midfields Forshaw wouldn't be as good as his opposite number. I believe Pulis is a better judge than Orta or Christianson. As always I hope I and Pulis are proved wrong.

Sanchez was out of favour at his time at Barcelona, was used very little by Pep and sold on to Arsenal. He came to England and has looked world class, even Pep wanted to resign him. Forshaw seems like he has a lot to prove, can we at least give him that chance. We have for the last few seasons taken chances on complete unknowns from various leagues with the majority being poor or out of their depth in this league. At least Forshaw has experienced this and a higher league with some success.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Sanchez wasn't so much out of favour as he was disliked by Messi. That was why he was out of the team and sold.}

18 Jan 2018 12:17:27
If that were true Hesslian we would not have signed Wood as he was a Leicester cast off. Didn't do too bad out of that deal. Sometimes it does not work for a player at one club but can be a good player at another club.

Agree3 Disagree0

18 Jan 2018 15:55:31
As I said it's a 'doubt' it can happen and players can turn it around. Wood wasn't that great when he arrived and aspects of his play remained poor -goals scored obviously improved a lot. He has had one very good season that might be just about it. With reference to the likes of Sanchez et al that's a completely different situation. It's about money and style of play. There is no doubt that they have quality. At our level some of the players just lose it for whatever reason. The secret appears to be identifying those players that can make it back and do a good job. The others just look poor and we've had lots of them.

18 Jan 2018 09:24:11
Why o why is there so much negativity- we needed a left back, got one we needed a CM, got one - now we are looking at strikers, i hope we get Messi or Kane or there will be more dissatisfaction

I wish it was the Daily Sport, at least there would be something interesting in it. Sadly just a carp website who are likely to just make up rumours rather than have any actual facts. 1. work out that Leeds need a striker
2. find striker at another club that could conceivably play for Leeds
3. write report linking Leeds to said striker
4. column inches filled
5. repeat with another striker
6. if any of the strikers linked actually move - claim the 'you heard it here first' credit
