I agree about over achieving. It's a tough division and we just don't have the cash to compete. Ken knows his limits and without major backers we will continue to make small profits and hope that SG can do what Blackpool and Burnley have done in previous seasons. I thought for some reason today could be the day when we strengthened the squad with a couple of signings, the season will soon be starting and fresh faces need time to adjust to new surroundings, let's be honest the squad does have some quality in it at the moment, but take out Gradel or Snodgrass, add a few more injuries to add to Becchio and Somma, then we will be struggling.

All these people who have said greening gone and moaning about missing out do your homework he plays left midfield that's his best position so why do we need him when we have gradel and sam has it ever occurred to you simon wasn't even interested in first place we.
Greening played centre midfield for WBA albeit left centre. He passes a ball better than Kilkenny is comfortable on the ball and is good at set pieces. Would have ticked a lot of boxes. Still as you say SG might not have been interested but I believe Forest have a great signing

Paddy is a valuable asset and I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't protect him. There was always the risk that he had a storming pre-season and found other clubs trying to sign him. We had to cover our backs.
He is looking fit and strong and it was always our intention - and his - to get a new contract signed and sealed as soon as possible. Doing it last weekend suited everyone concerned
In other words.. sort me out coz others are banging door down...

I don't know about anyone else but I for one am getting sick and tired seeing our rivals snapping up players in time to bed them into the team for the start of the season. If we do not move soon I fear we are going to have a very poor start to the season bearing in mind our first five or six fixtures, Southampton Middlesbrough, west ham crystal palace hull city and Ipswich and if the confidence goes down we are going to go with it.

Leeds to sign Billy Bremner's statue to stiffen the DM position and give SG additional options at set pieces. Frances Segelman, who cast Billy in Bronze, said on Yorkshire Radio: "It's true that Billy isn't as quick as when in his prime but he comes on a free transfer, is Leeds through and through and will accept £17 a week plus a box in the fabulous new East stand."

If we go into the season with that same back four we are in serious trouble.
o'brian, bromby, bessone and bruce just dont cut it if you want promotion via automatics or playoff spots.

I for one am not a ken bates lover, but if the rumours are true about max gradel wanting 25k a week that is excessive.Leeds utd have a wage structure which for the good of the club we must stick to, people could argue we could offer them more but we don't know the finances.beckford, Johnson now gradel are pricing themselves out of a contract, they know that and then will have the cheek to blame the club so they aren't seen as the bad ones, they are cowards in my eyes if they want to leave just say so and stop holding our great club to ransom footballers are overpaid I would love to earn what leeds are willing to pay gradel reportedly 14k a week that is all he's worth max if you think your worth more sod off and get it but at least be honest and tell us the real reason you want to leave and stop blaming lufc for not wanting to break the pay structure.

Very strongly agree with this, but leeds need to pay better wages i fear. The wages they pay at the moment they will only get lower league players. Can't help feelingthat the leeds management team are right morally as the players far exceed pay on a average scale. Gzzzz i'd like £2000 per month never mind £15000 per week.

It can be difficult, but you can t get away from the fact that we ve already got some very good players here. It s not like the team needed to be completely rebuilt.
I do understand why people are getting frustrated they see us and probably think we re not doing anything, but that s not the case.

It was hardly hard to stand out. Becchio is only on 15k and everytime he gets on the pitch he puts in 110%, never seen him have a bad game. Gradel is hit and miss, when he isn't sulking he plays a blinder. If he can't be arsed then you can tell, hence several substitutions last season. He ain't worth 25k

Don't know why there is so much debate about Paynter. He may manage a few goals in League one but he is not championship standard. He did us over twice -with the help of Austin and our leaky defence- but so did nearly everybody else. He was poor when he played for hull and went down divisions to get a contract. He had a good season with Swindon, thanks largely to Austin, but again let them down in the play off when he had a howler. I dont think he has played well since. Dont normally have a pop at Leeds players but I cant see him getting any better and SG has a habit of sticking with his favourites often to the detriment of the team which is a worry if Paynter keeps playing.

Leeds will be taken over next season.
The stadium will be bought back as well as the training ground. The hotel will be built. Lucas Radebe will join the coaching staff as will Gary Kelly and Nigel Martyn.
Paul Robinson, Jonathan Woodgate, Alan Smith, Robbie Keane, James Milner, Aaron Lennon, Danny Rose, Fabian Delph will all be brought back to the club.

Mate I don't think the wages are an issue at all it's all paper talk he's says before he would take a pay cut but tbh I think the death threats and prospect of being booed by your own fans regardless of a pay cut or not might have given him cold feet. I know him pretty well from his time at Leeds and I'd be very shocked if it was wages. At the end of the day Smith himself has said nothing to the press and it's all conjecture. I say we just forget about it and see what SG and Bates come up with.

We need a new striker with Somma out for a while and Paynter doesn't cut it for me in the championship. Teams are sniffing around Gary Taylor-Fletcher on a free. I reckon we could afford his wages and would be a great acquisition to the squad as he had a pretty impressive season for Blackpool in the Prem in my opinion. Cam'on Batesy, get your wallet out

Gradel goes for 4-5 mill, we recruit man city winger vladimir weiss who is just incredible for a 21yo, hes faster, stronger and has more tricks in his bag than messi and would be available on a season long loan so therefore we have money to spend on other players Ed, opinion? {Ed001's Note - will never happen, Weiss thinks he is too good to play in the Championship, though he isn't half as good as he thinks he is, nor anything like as good as you seem to think he is for that matter.
