I know he takes up probably too much of our posts, but is there anyone who would NOT start with Adryan for the next game, and please explain why.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I might be tempted not to start with him and use him as impact sub when oppositions legs are tired kind of like how cantona was used. not saying this is the right thing to do but guess it is a legitimate idea

Agree0 Disagree0

Norwich won't know what hit em :D

Agree0 Disagree0

Speedy
I agree with BW I watched him in the reserves 10 days ago and he was dead on his feet after 60 mins, so until he gets fitter impact player for now I'm afraid :(

Agree0 Disagree0

Well start him and take him off after we've knocked 2 or 3 in?

Agree0 Disagree0

Speedy
I know what your saying he looks like he could be a great player but playing him for an hour would only send a message to other players let's get 60% fit and play the first hour. If his hearts in Leeds he will get stronger/fitter and then merit a starting position.

If ya know what I mean!!

Agree0 Disagree0

I do know what you mean Andy, but I'm not really convinced that he will necessarily need to play 90 minutes. On the brief evidence of the other night he could weave his magic wand and create a few chances, score a few goals and definitely get us some penalties because he will be a nightmare to deal with when he's in penalty box. That said, with some of the refs I've seen recently he'll get sent off for diving when he's chopped to the ground

Although I like MC for saving our club and I believe his intentions are to try and get the club back where it belongs. You have to take a back seat once in a while and take stock!

If rumours are right Belgian player Frans has come out and said MC promised him a move to Leeds, his girlfriend packed her job in and he arrived at ER ready to play.
On arrival he was told to sit down and answer questions about his star sign, his fav numbers, his fav colours ummm
I'm guessing this will be in the press on Sunday (they love us too much) and if it's true a little worrying to say the least.

What's peoples thoughts??

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mc is bit too involved but I take all newspaper reports with pinch of salt and do not eblieve them. why we can not be sure if this one is true, we know the one about paddy was a lie, he was not sacked because his birthday was 17 he was sacked because he was 17 stone over weight. I work in theatre and film and deal with press a lot they love to jump on story and distort facts, this is there job, our job is to read them look at the pretty pictures and take no notice of what they say

Agree0 Disagree0

Seemed to work well with silvestri, bellusci, Bianci, Antenucci and ill even say Adryan.

who gives a stuff about interview technique really? Also would anyone really get their girlfriend to give up work go to leeds with a one way ticket before the contract is signed? Think about it. If he did deserves all he got for being a thick sod and there are enough numpties around football we didn't need another.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spain
Who gives a stuff about interview techniques!!
Hello wake up mate IF this is true how on earth are we going to attract top players when we hit the premiership??
This story has not hit the papers yet but I'm guessing it will be in Sunday/Mondays news.

Agree0 Disagree0

Doh!

It's only a rumour that this interview technique actually happened

why would a player, intent on signing for Leeds, even think about leaking this; if it is true?

Agree0 Disagree0

Essex
Rumour has it he signed for a Scottish club last week and was that upset what happened at Leeds just wanted to let everyone know why he didn't sign.
Think my mate said he signed for hearts but we'd had a few beers so could be wrong mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi mr player (some would say mersconary)

we are in prem here is 40K a week you are currently playing in smaller league for less. by the way what is your star sign. how old is your mother. can you bark like a dog. do you prefer mint or jelly beans

player lovely where do I sign

agree with Spain who cares about interview techniques and this almost ceaintly never happened like with Warnock like with paddy Kenny paper talk is rubbish and that is coming from me and I know what I am talking about when it comes to talking rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

So his girlfriend packed in her job and .

Took another one somewhere between Leeds and Hearts .

I don't think so

Agree0 Disagree0

That's a driving distance of 210 miles OR 338 kilometres

Obviously didn't want to play for LUFC in the first place or why else go to a second rate Scottish team (oh; and I'm a Scotland supporter - well someone has to be!) lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Essex
You sure your not MCs sin??

Just looked at league table its so tight if we could put just two three games together as a run we could be hovering around play off spots if we can keep in touch then till xmas who knows? Keep the faith we are leeds!!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree have always said we could click at xmas and go on a run. we have the talented players and think the new coach after darko will hopfully be the man to make us click. I can not see darko being here come end of jan transfer window

Agree0 Disagree0

Norwich Cardiff and Wolves next. If we can't beat Rotherham, what chance to we have against those . hope I'm completely wrong but I doubt I am.

Agree0 Disagree0

If its and buts were apples and nuts.
dream on bro. you can't predict from one game to the next never mind two or three wins together. This is Leeds United were talking about.

Agree0 Disagree0

Boro
Stop dreaming mate we are NOT good enough for a play off spot, we've had 2 decent performances all season we don't deserve it mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hit the nail there Andy.
There's dreams, predictions, and reality, and I'm not sure some people know the difference. Even the Prezzie hasn't forecast playoffs this season.
My DREAM is 6, My PREDICTION is 10. The reality might be a little lower. I'll just be happy if we play some exciting stuff some of the time, win some games, score more goals and stay comfortably above 20th

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we are good enough for a top 10 finish maybe get a play off if we are lucky.

For me top 10 would be a great season for us. Stability and consolidation.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spain
Top 10 would be good with a new team trying to gel, you never know get to 10th bit of confidence and you never know but on current performances this year we gave to improve considerably.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep Spain and Andy
Thinking back to April or thereabouts. If someone said we could have a top 10 place this season, I'd have said YES PLEASE. And you are right, if we are top 10, a few cheeky wins and that could be 6, and 6 means playoffs, and 3 wins means premiership, and then (**** wakes up)

Agree0 Disagree0

Spain
Most of us agreed back in april when we had NO players coming in we would be happy with halfway, consolodate and push on next season and IMO nothing has changed.

Just seen a bit of the Bradford Sheffield game (only because I turned on TV and it was still on same channel from last night)
Within a couple of minutes one of sheff forwards was literally picked up and thrown to ground in penalty area, with ref probably 3 yards away - in much the same way Rudy was dumped down last night.
Most blatant penalty you could have.
What's going on with these sub standard refs? Don't they need to have eye tests anymore?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 Oct 2014 18:27:42
LOST one sheff weds fan goes by the name of sleaford-owl, last seen on this page mid-sept but a run of 5 games without a win might have something to do with his disappearance ;)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Don't be saying that Andy. On that reasoning, we might all be disappearing soon :(

Agree0 Disagree0

Speedy lol
Trouble is mate we don't go bragging on other teams pages then vanish ;)

I said it earlier just before the season started that Huckleberry wouldn't see August out. His was a stupid appointment by Cellino and the latter is solely to blame for it. I also believe Milanic won't see November out. Cellino has appointed one Manager with no top league experience and one with no Championship or English football experience whatsoever. Several posts on here are spot on that he/we did not know how to handle Rotherham's onslaught and with 4 tough games coming up I cannot see where the next win is coming from. What's more his after match interview with Radio Leeds last night was abysmal. He hadn't a clue what to say.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I am 27 years a white and nice to see that someone with your experience agrees. I like MC but he needs to get the right nice time maybe redfern maybe not but he should get it right and soon

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It doesn't matter if we had Pep or Mourinho as coach, if you let teams run at you and shoot without tackling them you will always concede goals.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 Oct 2014 14:37:49
Spot on! Agree with you degsy.i hope to see Adryan start next time out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with you both

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats the point degsy if you had pep or mourinho as coach teams would run and shoot without putting a tackle in. there is a reason their teams do well and they have a good rep. they know football and are good at job. a good manager at this level makes a lot of difference, look at holloway at millwall and evans at rotherham. It is all about the coach it starts and ends there. better to have great coach with average team than great team with average coach

Agree0 Disagree0

Hard to figure that one out BW it's good in getting players to give 100% effort but it's a results based business and both Millwall/Rotherham are below us!

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Oct 2014 12:45:35
Just putting this out as I have warned against over-hyping Adryan. Don't expect him to win games on his own, but I now want to see him play more. Lots more. Any my opinion of Darko is going to diminish rapidly if we don't see Adryan feature (I mean START) in most games.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

having lost to two promoted clubs already and with Wolves coming to ER next week, I think we all know what's next! - WHATAMELON Darko

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Darko is far too defensive minded for me. I assume his is trying to play a counter attacking style however to do so means that you have to have midfielders that break quickly to support the attack. At the moment our midfield is either being told to hang back or are just not quick enough to break quickly. Either way the tactic is not working

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Oct 2014 14:50:05
Why we need also to draft Montenegro into the team

Agree0 Disagree0

His style is not conter attack as no width, it is itlain paticent possesstion with odd break. it would work in italy maybe other places where darko was successful but no a chance over here. so who is next coach?

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry BW but I don't agree that you can only play a counter attacking style with wingers. It is reliant upon midfielders breaking quickly, however I do take your point that Darko is reliant upon patient build up and then trying to play the killer pass although for that to be successful they need to significantly increase their tempo. At the moment it is labourous passing deep in their own half.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry I didn't explain that well. you do not need wingers to conter attack and break with pace, Arsenal, barca are two good examples of this. But at our level it is unlikly to have the quality players to be able to do that and the easiest way of getting that result is with quick wingers and width which we don't have. I don't think it is a problem we don't have them as we have shown this season we can win with out them just not by playing the labourious way we have since darko has taken over

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed BW

Agree0 Disagree0

Notts
Totally agree we need to counter attack with pace hit teams when they least expect it.
The goal we conceded against millers was shocking, 4 defenders backing off backing off and let him shoot. Someone take control close him down and he panics loses possession and threat over.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Oct 2014 11:15:01
We should be giving the likes of Montenegro some match time due to all his goals scored. I think if we also got some pace in the team we would fair better. Darko has the right personnel at his disposal I'm just not sure he knows what the best 11 are or how to change it technically. I hope he gets it right sooner rather than later. Mot

a note to MC (and leeds fans)

remit of a manager/head coach

a good head coach will do the following

1.get best out of squad and players avllibe thought man management and motivation
2. use a style of play that is effective and suits both the playing staff and league
3. make team hard to beat. Although wins can not always be expected you should beat weaker teams most of the time and make better teams fight hard for win
4. you should be able to adapt to situations and have good effective plan a and be able to call on plan b when needed.
5.at all times you and your team should show fight and passion, to lose if ok if fans can hold up heads high at end of the game
6. you should get best points total possible and your team should finish as high up the leauge as possilbe (sometimes even higher if good manager)

please not, possesion, neat passes, tidy stuff etc is no good to a football team unless matched with results.

managers who fit this are
Sam Alydyce
Tony Pulis
Steve Clarke
Howard Wilkinson
Alex Ferguson
Redders (in time he was given)

ones who don't hockaday and darko

please consider this when appointing new manager which should happen soon as current choice darko has not hit the remit of job unlike coach before redders who exceeded expectations in short time and darko has not come close.

Anyone think MC will take note or will I have to make him an offer he can't refuse?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Steve Clarke? I like the man but he wasn't exactly doing well with West Brom. Plus he plays exactly the way you have just whined about in a thousand moaning posts.}

I think clarke got good results with poor team for league it is in. I don't moan about any style of play if it gets results. play long ball play tippy tappy just beat teams like rotherham

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he nearly got them relegated, and they were far from a poor team.}

I just keep saying BW. I love Redders, of course he was great in those 4 matches, and I def want him as next Head Coach (possibly after Christmas), but let's not assume that every game would have been great if he'd carried on. there's nobody else on your list I would want

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok maybe wrong about clarke (think he would do job at this level) but point of post not right? darkos style may be ok but not in championship three of the best managers at this level aladcye pulis wilkinson all played direct maybe we could learn from history, something has to give we keep playing teams off the park yet not winning it is rediculas

Agree0 Disagree0

Speedy my list is not of potentail coaches most are retiered and big sam and pulis would never come just the type we should go for sam evans would be near top of my list done well at rotherham. my point is imagine if we got someone who over perfromed like the managers on my list did we would be prem team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah I know BW, I know its frustrating, and believe me I'm just as frustrated as you. But what effect do you think having all different nationalities playing for us makes? I don't know the answer, it's a serious question. Do we need someone like Darko who is multilingual, or is football language so universal that it doesn't matter?

Agree0 Disagree0

I honestly think it doesn't make a difference otherwise man city, chealsea etc would make be successful and would not have them in the team. think it use to affect about 10 years ago but not anymore. we also know any questions on playing staff do not need answering as they won won and won again under redders. if redders didn't improve results then maybe it would be a problem but not as the fact they did well all points to coach. I know redders wouldn't of won forever but it was so much better than questions have to be asked. If redders was in charge last four games would we of got more than two points. if you think the answer is yes then darko needs to go and redders back. 1st team results is paramount and needs to be address straight away don't let the rot set in

Agree0 Disagree0

I was not entire convinced with Redfearn but I would argue that he got the team playing further up the pitch and the players pressed to opposition more to get the ball back when not in possession

Agree0 Disagree0

BW
Although I agree with most of your comments regarding the team.
I think all we fans want to see is players giving 100% effort/commitment and come off the pitch having put a true honest shift in and leave nothing behind.

However I don't agree with your list of managers/coaches, at least 4 of them have been sacked for playing boring or hoofball not too long ago after spending some nice pie and mash.
Allardyce I always liked but got booted for being boring at newcastle and escaped the boot at west ham last season. West ham have now signed a player coach and a striker coach to help sam (how much will that cost I wonder?) Its something MC definatley won't be splashing out on!!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not a great tactician, but wasn't the loss last night (and the problems recently) mainly due to the fact that we play far too deep, and the defence stood off their attackers instead of being on them like a rash. If we played our normal game 20 yards further up the field I would have thought many more chances would be created

Agree0 Disagree0

The loss last night was totally due to the fact that we got in front of goal several times with the ball and didn't score!

End of?

I seriously don't believe Darko has a clue, we need someone who DOES have experience at this level.

Adryana looked good but nowhere near enough time on the pitch to prove himself.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's surely got to start next time

Agree0 Disagree0

Notts great comment about redders team playing further up field something that simple makes such a difference (as results have shown so clearly).

Andy my list of managers may not play great football and may of come close to the sack of got sacked a few times (that is football) but they all have one great quality they take poor to average teams and get results aginst clearly better teams

Big Sam at bolton did wonders as for west ham they could of gone down but big sam gets results however they get them don't matter points on the boards

pulis is a god at stoke and what he did at palace was a mirical. he took religation fodder and make them mid table.

Fergouson got many results with weaker teams (his last man u champs were poor and when he left same players have showed this).

Wilko took ok team up then won the leauge two seasons later. a title we had no right to win but did.

direct, passion, pace, organised, hard to beat. all managers made this there game plan and it works

Imgaine if our leeds team got the results in line with managers above we would go up this year no dbout about it. love to go forest and win like bolton did against man u.

Style over points makes no sense and less style if far more effective always has been always will be. this is why holland never won too much toom much style unlike the old west german team who had less style but better results

Just on a separate note ( someone may have already posted this). What an earth was the ref thinking of when Rudy was upended and thrown to the ground early in the game? I was just waiting to see whether it was a yellow or red. That was the most ridiculous non-booking I have ever seen

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Looked like Greco Roman wrestling throw or one of those Judo ones. The Ref was obviously too impressed to realise that's a sending off offence. I've seen some crazy decisions this year - more so than usual.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's one that the FL should look retrospectively at. But of course they won't

Agree0 Disagree0

What do you really expect? I am surprised Austin didn't get up and kick sh*t out of the guy, but then he would have been sent off and found guilty of retaliating to a non existent foul. ?

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Oct 2014 09:54:59
Why do the recent managers/head coaches we have had at the club believe that Austin is a centre attacking midfielder? They all seem to fall into the same trap of thinking that the hustle and bustle approach of Austin is the answer to creating and scoring more goals. Don't get me wrong, I think his qualities could and should be utilised on the right or left hand side of the diamond (based on what we currently have available to pick from) but he does not have the guile and the correct decision making (shooting from impossible range whilst passing when a shooting opportunity opens up 15 yards out) to play in that transitional role between midfield and attack. I think my head will explode from rage the next time I see him shoot from distance. One goal a season from outside the box does not make you a long shot expert Rudy!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 Oct 2014 09:42:28
Out fought and under too much pressure. The young lads and some of the imports need time to get used to what is required in the Championship. At the moment we have neat and tidy players who are trying to get their passing game sorted. Only Austin in the midfield has the drive and power. Most of his passes get to the right place but timing and ability to pick the right pass are inconsistent. Up front Sharpe and Morison don't cut it for me in this set up. Antelucci seems ok. Doukare -not yet there and might not make the grade. At the back the goal keeper is ok although in the last two games he has been outshone by hi opposite number. Beelusci- I like Pearce is strong but is lacking in some areas. Beradi will be fine. Warnock I don't understand. Some games you think 'Yes' he's good then in others he is either weak and slow at the back or can't get a cross in to save his life or both. Bianchi has the makings. Cook will be good. Mowatt neat and tidy but that's all at the moment. End result we can play pretty football without making to many in-roads. This means we can seem to be on top without scoring and strong quick breaks by the opposition can lead to us conceding. The coach might say things like 'we didn't deserve to lose' or 'we should have won' but that isn't the case necessarily. Mid table this year, (I hope) and pushing on next season. We need time.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Some good points but don't blame players, imports have bedded well. these players picked up 10 pnts from 12 under redders and 2 points from 12 under darko, so clearly players are not to blame?

Agree0 Disagree0

Austin might have power and drive but he tire's and his passing is woeful, he's better coming from bench in latter stages of games.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hesslian
Totally agree 100% some great points and honest evaluation of the players.

I was quite happy with the way we played again last night. Its good to watch. The more they play keep ball and play out of pressure the more confidence they will get at it.
Give it time and do not ask for Darkos head so soon.
If the first 11 are not performing we have plenty of potential in the squad to move things around. Personally I thought Adryan looked skillfull and dangerous when he came on so would like to see more of him sitting behind the front 2 and feeding them with creative thro balls possibly even pulling the strings in midfield altho as a forward he was not scared to run at their defence and have a pop given half a chance.
Who the front 2 are is another matter as the jury is still out on Doukara. Last night, not threatening with a poor first touch. More a battering ram than a black Messi.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree leodis good to wacth I love seeing leeds lose to tin pot teams. love to see have so much of the ball and do little with it. oh wait. no I don't I like to see leeds play with purpose. time is not what is needed a different way forward is needed

Right, fair play Rotherham, you scored more than us! Goals win games! But Steve Evans, you are a muppet! Learn the rules of football! But il have a £100 on that we'll finish higher than you come the end of the season. Look forward to seeing you at elland road! MOT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Steve evans muppet? you sure mate he has took poxy little tin pot rotherham and out foxed darko and beat mighty leeds, imgaine what he would do with a squad like ours and club like leeds. it is this kind of muppet that we want managing our club.
