Did not go to the match tonight so would be interested to hear. After reading a few pundits scores there appears to be one who, tho not low, is regularily the lowest score. Alioski. Does he deserve it?

He was probably the poorest player tonight. He does lots of good stuff, but it’s often let down by the final ball, offside or ball going out of play. He was stronger earlier in the season. I’ve seen Jack Clarke play live three times now and against obviously weaker opposition, he has looked as good a player but with perhaps a more consistent final product. Clarke’s weakness is probably his fitness, he’s still building it up and I’m not sure he could put in a full shift in that position in the way Bielsa wants him to play. I’d like to see him gradually coming in for Alioski and getting some magnets time as the season goes on.

I think from memory that Alioski, struggled a bit last year after the international break, in fact I think he was given a few games off.

19 Sep 2018 02:37:51
i am baised, i like him

offers pace, can beat a man, hit a pass, get an assist scores (all facts) . he is caught offside and can get final ball wrong which frustrates. but he offers a lot. i would also like to say he worries oppents and is busy. I use last week as good example, every time aliski and saiz got the ball wall fans worried. for me this speaks voloums. also said I can see why some would get annoyed with him. but for me one of our better players as he makes things happen. this said harrision was different class tonight and saiz is one of best in the league.

I like Alioski a lot too! Saw him in his first few games and immediately thought as you. Just wonder if he might need a rest every now and again to freshen him up and show him that there is some competition for his role. I think there are a lot of similarities between Alioski and Jack Clarke, Alioski just has the physical edge and experience at the moment. At the moment we’re comparing them against different opposition, but I think we’ve got cover for the position.

19 Sep 2018 08:48:54
Alioski is frustrating at times but does a lot of work for the team and has the class to be better than he is at the moment. Saying that Clarke will be playing in his place next season, maybe end of this one.

19 Sep 2018 09:22:55
Ali a better player this season than last, he has stopped the rolling around, but I do think he needs to be rested .
Every time he goes off on Inter break he comes back off, whether Clarke is worth a go as Spanish suggested then I'm sure Mb will give it a go .
Really pleased for Roberts to.

19 Sep 2018 12:01:46
Gotta say, I'm totally pro Alioski. He does have his slack moments in games, but I don't think his desire or effort can ever be questioned, which is pretty much all you can ask for from a player. Clarke will definitely have him looking over his shoulder soon tho, which can only be a positive thing.

19 Sep 2018 12:23:35
I'm not so sure we should be getting on at Alioski for the offsides, he gets in some good positions and doesn't get the ball played to him quickly enough.

thats a good point stafford, think sometimes he is a step ahed of rest of team. and the oppositiion back line. i agree spansih think he could do with rest and be subbed early. that is my one compaitn with MB i'd like to see early subs when possible. for me the second the second goal went in i'd take saiz and alisko off and brought on clake and endmonson (moved roberts back) . think roberts could also cover aliski place when roofe back. that said i don't want to see him dropped and think he is one of our most important players fo making thing shappen but very excited to see clarke in action.

Just got back from Elland Road, wonderful night! So pleased we got Preston back for the cup defeat. They were another good test for us, needed to hang in there and Coopers goal gave us a bit of breathing space.

Great team performance, Saiz, made things happen, Harrison had a superb first half, and Roberts! So pleased, klich´s night to miss a couple. Cooper and Pontus awesome!

Bielsas approach is so straightforward . The players know the roles and where they fit in, so players coming into the team fit into a slot and the plays remain the same.

Let's not forget that Roberts is the third choice striker, and Harrison is deputising for Hernandez.

Clarke and Edmondson never warmed up, so it looked like, Dallas, Forshaw and Baker were the only subs that were going to come on. He's just warming them up and giving them exposure to match day experience.

Watched the match live and must say was a solid performance again. BPF and Harrison improving every game. Made up for Roberts, deserved his goals and think he will push on from now. So impressed with the style of play. KP, Coops and Pontus looked solid. Everyone free to attack. Fair play to Preston they came to play football and gave us a couple of scares but we just bossed it again. Good to see Forshaw getting some time on pitch. This Bielsa guy certainly knows what he is doing. Onwards and upwards.

Happy with result and performance. For me I'm absolutely delighted for Roberts . I Was worried about roofe and bamford being injured and Roberts hasn't looked great to be honest but to come up with 2 goals at Elland Road tonight I was absolutely buzzing for him . With the likes of foreshaw coming back in to fitness and Hernandez bamford roofe and berardi all missing and we still have Izzy Brown to come in and some of the u23s look good as well I'm just starting to believe.

What do we fans know about football!, Bielsa appears to be the real deal, small squad, injuries galore yet he still gets a tune out of the squad. Well done everyone connected with the team, does bode well that we got some good players to come back in. Please, please let's beat the bluenoses this weekend!

A win against Birmingham would be brilliant, especially against the Monkman. Great performance tonight some excellent football, and how good it is to see an obvious Team Spirit there. A fully fit squad further on in the season is a very exciting prospect.

ok as some of you may of picked up on my subtle hints. i'm not a fan of kp but what a pass for the assist.

for me he has no positional sense, can't tackle, gives away too many fouls and is about as mobile as a concret bollard but the lad does have a wonder pass in his locker. still weakest link in team by a country mile though.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 Sep 2018 22:21:11
Respect your right to your opinion Berm, but the lad has done well so far this season and has been part of our unbeaten run, Bielsa is no fool and on the occasion that KP had a stinker he was taken off. He is doing the job asked of him by Bielsa, let's support the guy.

sorry mezzer I can't i said when wrong about harrision who was great, i even said when beradi was motm and great but phillips until i see otherwise is pony.

and before you quote MB being good let me just tell you i am currently 18k out of 5.6 million players at fpl and just won a thrid league title and champs league on football manager so if anything I am more qualified to judge than MB!

18 Sep 2018 23:32:23
I’m pleased Bermondsey, you seem to be warming to KP. Earlier in the season you were saying we wouldn’t get promoted with him playing, now you seem to have uprated your opinion and now he’s only the worst player in the team.

If we keep on doing what we’re doing, it won’t really matter. There’s always going to be one worst player in any team and as you must know from experience you can never please every reviewer!

Agree3 Disagree0

19 Sep 2018 01:34:36
Too right Spanish. I'd always rather be the worst player in the best team than the best player in the worst.

Agree2 Disagree0

19 Sep 2018 02:42:01
this is very true spanish can't please them all (read reviews for my show, i don't please many! )

i do think we have a chance now and slowly warming to going up despite having him in the team, a mate who watched with me tonight (arsenal fans who I hate Arsenal not my mate) is an fa qualified coach so undersatdns the game, said it was like playing with ten men, which is great we can still win with ten men or despite phillips

still i am warming, although to be fair to me i have always said he can play and has qualities bit like mowatt, not awful just not worthy of leeds shirt.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I really feel like I should have removed the m from many in that first sentence as it was clearly a typo.}

19 Sep 2018 07:19:37
I’m an F. A. Coach, understand the game, and Phillips is a vital part in the coach’s system

Bielsa has also spoken very highly of him

A team needs players to fulfill certain roles for it to work

Philips is still young and improving under Bielsa, he’ll never be messi, but an outfield of 10 Messis wouldn’t work anyway.

Got to laugh ain't you. Never had the worst player rating in any game this season or last by any pundit or match reviewer or analyst. Not really interested in what Arsenal and Millwall fans think of our players. Young lad started season in a totally foreign role and made it his own, who else we got to play there, maybe Foreshaw. Done everything asked of him and his coach speaks highly of him.

19 Sep 2018 12:09:44
Kal was fantastic, in the role he has been asked to play, again last night. He does his job. Forshaw is going to have to do something special in training to displace him.

18 Sep 2018 20:39:03
well not sure what i was watching on saturday but without my scotch glasses on I thought harrision was pure class tonight maybe best player in league

pontus also dominating and impressive (great intercption early on)

BFP inpresses me more and more and is growing in stature every time i see him

saiz again class and worries the life out of other team as does alokiski who can be frustrating but does worry opponest and tries hard

everyone else decent but nothing outstanding

outher than kp who again was poor in my opinion deos nothing and never there as cover (hence all their chances he is no where like where is wally) no this is not popular on here but the millwall fans love him and my wife said he is shockingly S@@te which is enough for me

still good overall and only undefeated team in league is good enough for me.

Yeah I case ya all didn't know all midweek champ games are on Sky this season on red button . So loads of Leeds coverage this season . Quite please with first half . Started a little slow but we have turned the screw and klich should of had 2 . Harrison looks good.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Surprised Klich didn’t finish one of those.
We just look like stronger players this season.

18 Sep 2018 15:03:09
I know we're still unbeaten but I'd like to see at least one change tonight.

I think it's time Alioski was replaced, see what another player can bring to the party on the left.

I doubt any youngsters will start unless there is an injury in the warm up. much like Shackleton's appearance at Swansea.

We should have enough for Preston tonight, they're really low on confidence.

He can blow hot or cold sher and agree we should put him on the bench and either play Dallas as Batty suggests or Harrison .

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Sep 2018 16:09:30
Personally I don't have much confidence in Dallas changing a game, lacks skill and pace. He could offer a lot as a full back and I'd be surprised if his career doesn't eventually take him in to that position full time.

Alas the options for an Alioski replacement are very few and far between, so I would give Dallas a go.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Sep 2018 16:38:25
Agree Sherburn, Dallas is a trier, but I can't since he joined us remember coming out of the ground thinking he was outstanding and had a big hand in us winning a game.

Tonight will be a big test for Bielsa and his compact squad. We really need to win and pick up all 3 points, so the second string picks like Roberts, Harrison etc really need to shine tonight.

I do have faith in his philosophy, I just hope we see it in practice tonight. I was impressed with the changes to on field personnel leading to the goal on Saturday, makes sense to move someone who is up to speed with the game rather than risking a youngster against the wall.

MOT fellow Leeds Fans, onwards and upwards.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

18 Sep 2018 11:50:40
Agreed. Interesting to see what the bench looks like tonight. Clarke and Edmondson played all of a tough game yesterday, 35 mins with only 10 men. So Baker, Dallas, Blackford, Pearce ( also played all yesterday) Forshaw, possible Hugo Diaz, played most of the game yesterday. Under 23 games day before midweek games doesn’t help!

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Sep 2018 12:22:49
Yeah. We need 3 points but I got a bad feeling about tonight. Thinking maybe even a loss.
I will be on plane to Hong Kong.
I trust in Bielsa. But not sure players have what it takes to keep on delivering with injuries and u23 game last night.
Hope so. Go on boys. 3 points please.

18 Sep 2018 12:49:04
I fancy Roberts to get at least one tonight. Watched the 90 in 90 highlights from the game on Saturday and he looked to be getting in the right positions, just his finishing. Hopefully not another Ekuban. Preston have a number of key players out but think we'll win 2-0.

Agree2 Disagree0

18 Sep 2018 12:56:49
Like your positivity about Roberts, you are right, did some nice running and got into good positions. Clearly understands the role and Bielsas plan. His finishing touches lacked power and confidence, if the first chance had gone in he might have grabbed a hat trick. Hope he has a great game tonight and bags at least one.

Agree about Roberts Spanish, needs that first goallooked busy but stats say he only made 11 passes all game which is a bit low. Fancy him to well though eventually, hope its sooner rather than later. Fancy us for the win though is it two defenders out for Preston, 2-0 will do.
