Bielsa present at the U23s today watching a pretty good performance.

What a pro he is!

What a Leeds United legend he already is!

I feel confident that Bielsa wants and sees himself being Leeds manager for a number of seasons yet.

LEEDS UNITED IS HIS PROJECT; ONE HE FEELS ULTIMATELY HAPPY WITH.

De Paul saga dragging on, never do things fast. Hope we don't wait till last minute and not pay asking fee and miss out.
Then have no time to bring in that much needed flair / creative MF player.
Think if we don't sign another player be a huge mistake, think we could survive with this team but if had injuries and suspensions would struggle as others not quite ready.
I also believe with 3-4 quality additions, we could be top 8?
It's looking like only possibly 2 to come in, CB and hopefully de Paul.
If De Paul doesn't work out, would sharquari be an option?

"Sugar me". I think we've got more chance of signing Lynsey de Paul and she's been dead for six years!
"No honestly" I do!
One for the youngsters there. 😂😉.

Such a shame. Put under such immense pressure and expectation at such a young age is it any wonder it all went to his head and it went wrong.

Probably would of made more sense to play Geldhart and Drameh against Hull, Geldhart at least is used to playing that level of team.

Their best signing by far was Bielsa when they well and truly got it right on that occasion.

BUT in general, when it comes to player recruitment for the first team squad Radz and Orta either

1) pay over the odds on salary and/ or transfer fees for ( below) average, injury plagued players or

2) try to get very good players on the relative cheap leading to failure

They are kind of the LAUREL and HARDY of transfer negotiators mixed in on occasions with a dash of STEPTOE and SON or DELBOY and RODDERS.

Less than 3 weeks remaining of the transfer window and without further quality first team squad acquisitions they are seriously playing Russian Roulette with Leeds United premiership status .3 decent teams will go down this season ; there are no weak teams.

It is more than feasible that Leeds United as things stand, with Leeds first team squad that without further quality player recruitment,
Leeds will be battling in the bottom 6 ; even more feasible with injuries to key players with inadequate squad player replacements.

Totally agree Bazooka, despite how well we played against Liverpool, we have mainly a championship squad. Injuries, suspensions are all part of a season and we more than likely will pay the price.

{Ed025's Note - its all about perspective mezzer, i dont think you should aim too high this season and use it as a platform to improve the squad, staying up should be the priority and dont look any further than that, cups dont matter at this stage mate and going out to hullthe other day is no big deal, money is tight in this climate so dont expect too many to come in, just enjoy the ride..

18 Sep 2020 13:21:08
Ed025, believe me my expectations are not for a top half finish but realistically just above the bottom 3 will do. Not even fussed about going out of the cup, but one thing it showed was our squad lacks strength in depth. My gripe is as always with Leeds we identify a player we want in and struggle getting them over the line. Other teams seem to do their transfers with much less fuss. We manage to get plenty of young players for our under23 squad without much trouble.

{Ed025's Note - quality costs money though mezzer, we all want our teams to get the best players they can of course but in this financially uncertain climate its a balancing act mate, hopefully you will survive this year and build from there over the next few seasons, the prem needs teams like leeds..

ED 25, spot on!

I think it’s always easy to blame Radz and Orta for the stuff that goes wrong and credit Bielsa for what goes right. Choosing a manager that got us into the premiership after 16 years is a pretty good one to get right.

Bielsa brings some limits as well, he prefers a small squad, is loyal to his players, expects a great level of fitness and understanding of strategy before you get a start. Not all players fit into that and not all players want to work in that way.

If we bought 6 more players, how many of them would he play quickly or at all. Out of the team he played at Liverpool, who would he actually be prepared to drop without at least giving them a chance in the premiership. Remember Klich, Harrison and Bamford all scored at Anfield!

I’ve said it before, I don’t think this years challenge in the premiership is a job particularly suited to Bielsa. He wants to be up the top challenging and we won’t be this year. I think stay up we will but it’ll be Bielsa’s last year at the club and the challenge will be finding the right person to move the club onwards after him.

{Ed025's Note - you may be right spanish but i hope bielsa stays, this year will be difficult i expect and frustrating for the fans, i think you have enough to survive mate and dont get your hopes up about a top half finish which i heard some forecast, this season is about consolidation and you build from there for me..

18 Sep 2020 16:21:18
I hope I am right but I feel confident that Bielsa sees himself staying at Leeds for a number of seasons yet. This is his project that he feels ultimately very comfortable and content with.

As long as we retain our premier league status this season, confident Bielsa will be Leeds manager next season.

Not so sure Bazooka. His wife and family are in Argentina. Reading between the lines this year has taken its toll on him. How long can he commit to being here, especially whilst the job is about survival. Like you, I love him and really rate what he has done with the club but the skill is going to be how we consolidate what he has achieved and move on from him when the time comes.

think it was Brighty who said he had recently bought a house in the area

Hopefully this season is more than just about retaining our Premier league status.

Been saying for awhile now that we won't get Rodrigo de Paul deal over the line, and news now that Leeds won't pay the fee his club want. Just because it's been reported that the player wants to come and has agreed terms? , doesn't mean it will happen.
This player chase seems similar to the Daniel James one and look how that ended up. If Radzs and Orta think his team will crumble on the price then they are kidding themselves. If we really want this player pay the fee or MOVE on, as said it before, he won't be coming to leeds, especially on the cheap!

Mezzer, I think we will get him, club still hoping we will pay more or other club will come in and buy him. My gut is that we will get him other options don’t appear and the cash is to tempting to refuse.

Spanish they don't need to sell him, think he still has a decent time on his contract. If he is the player we want then pay what they want for him. I can't see him coming unless we pay the fee they want or near to it. We not going to get him on the cheap.
