There IS only one LEEDS UNITED.....

Lets now kick the 'Bates Out' into touch and get on with what we all do best?

Support Leeds, or do One??

LUST, hopefully you influenced Bates in appointing the best 'avaialble' manager, can you know lay off the guy, and get behind the team if you truly have Leeds at heart?

Or are you going to find something else to moan about now??

Believable12 Unbelievable3

Well said. Bates has done well this time. Ease off lads

NW reputation for getting the best out of carp players. We should do well then! Brown will probably play like Zidane for a dozen games now.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

At least having a new manager means that all players will get a chance to prove themselves. Becchio, for example had probably his best game in a leeds shirt on Saturday- up to then he was garbage; Brown came on and played like he did 10 years ago; O'Dea was actually commanding at the back.If warnock can make these players play like this every week because they are continually playing for their places the future suddenly looks bright!

nice to see some positive thinking on here for a change and the bates haters at least for now very quiet love him or hate him hes hes a man who takes no prisoners nor warnock seems like the great whites have got their sharks cmon !!! mot lets get at at it !!!!

Believable9 Unbelievable1

The only thing to Bates' credit is he did say when he took over that he was not going to make LUFC great again for us but for our children. He is definitely sticking to that plan. Investing in the stadium, hotels etc is undoubtedly good for the future. If we did make it into the PL again, we would be a very attractive proposition for investors with deeper pockets than Papa Smurf.

Agree2 Disagree1

Bates has no excuse now he has the proven management now it's up to the old tight wad to give him the funds end of!

Agree3 Disagree1

Grayson had funds i'm sick off people saying he didn't

Agree1 Disagree3

No he didn't and I'm sick of people who don't understand the numbers Bates himself has been putting about.

The maths is very simple, assuming you ever bothered to listen at school.

His wage budget was 35% of revenue - the league average is over 70%. His transfer fund and all other related fees also had to come out of that 35%. Other managers get a separate fund for those other things.

Many of Grayson's best players were sold and the money not put back in. Net expenditure over 3 years was MINUS 11 million.

Those are Bates's own figures. In what way does that constitute funds for a serious promotion challenge? Answer - it doesn't.

I'm glad we've got an experienced manager in Warnock but it's not going to be as easy for him as some people on here think.

Hope I'm wrong but I'll be surprised if we finish higher than than 7th.

To be honest i liked SG but NW made 2 points on yorkshire radio yesterday which SG didnt sort. The first was that no one in defence took control and the second was the fact that when our strikers got the ball our midfielders were 60 yards away. So it took him one game from the stands to realise the problem and thats why SG had to go. We will be 442 from now on and derry most likely will build from the back, maybe clint hill too, defo a cb will be replacing o'dea. I imagine KB told him that whatever he makes from the bad fringe players, which is probably just wages, he can invest in new players. And i presume he is getting some sort of kitty in the summer. Like i posted before KB didnt trust SG with his money. MOT. (reckon bromby will start on sat)

Believable7 Unbelievable1

SG couldnt sort the defence out,if he had brought somebody like George Graham in he would still be in a job,Warnock has built teams from scratch before, but as you say, will need to prune the squad somehow,we need to show our support at matches now instead of this silly Bates out rubbish, dont think we will make it this year but as Warnock said, you never know, the rebuild starts now.

Agree4 Disagree2

Why the f*k do we keep refering to George Graham?

He is history, gone, we are (hopefully) movuing on?

Lets just get behind Warnock and our team and just keep doing that???

Agree4 Disagree1

Agree lets get behind the team but George Graham is a class defence coach and he wants to be back in football the poster had a valid point

Be interesting to see how Warnock treats the kids in the Academy. I'd like to see him bring through a couple into the first team. Gimpel and them Turner twins can't be far away in my opinion.

Believable5 Unbelievable3

I think the youth team needs preserving and bringing on as and when, we still produce some class acts, but why let everyone else have them?

I said yesterday about the lack of atmosphere at ER and was longing for that first game in league one against Southend minus 15 points but still with 27000 Leeds fans singing their hearts out from start to Finnish. Well the last 15 minutes it was back and the hairs on the back of my neck were once again standing. Just wanted to say thanks to every supporter for making it a fantastic atmosphere albeit for only 15 minutes".............one more requestbcan we make it for the whole 90 or 99 against Southampton win lose or draw let's scare the s**t out of them like we used to.......MOT

got a feeling brown or snodders to get captain job brown got lots of experience and we might now get the best out of him under warnock he can defiantly tackle hard not everyones cup of tea but i think he could be that dm we have needed and to be fair he has not had a run of games

Believable8 Unbelievable1

19 Feb 2012 15:23:09
why dont we let the boss decide who he is going to bring in instead of us saying who yes certain players would be good but we dont have the credentials to decide. instead we would be better putting out positive vibes and lifting the negativity positivity is always better than negativity i am more optimistic now than i was 2 days ago but i also no it will not happen overnight so just keep possitive everyone

19 Feb 2012 12:44:28
Seriously great news about NW. Great to see all the positive posts and interest again. Bates might be a goose in a few ways but I think the bloke knows what he is doing so let's give him some credit. Let's get behind the boys and for all you spankers with your bates out stuff, go and support another club. It's getting tiresome.

Believable14 Unbelievable6

Fully agree champ

i just wonder how many of warnocks ex players are going to be rumored to be signing for us please dont post without some facts because it is so annoying {Ed013's Note - Spot on there. He has been in the job a day and will give the current players a chance. He knows we lack 1 or 2 leaders and therefore may look at that option, but to say Leeds are signing all Warnocks ex-players a day into the job is a fantasy.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Not sure why there s also so much interest in past players coming back... Killgallon, Derry, Smith, Beckford to name just a few from the last weeks.
Getting former players back always feels like getting back with an old girlfriend. it s quite nice at the start, but after a while you can t help thinking of them playing for another club. Sort of spoils it and it s never the same as the first time.
Look at Batty s second spell. Or even Delph. Never go back. That s the best moto. There s plenty of players out the better than Derry, Smith, or Kilgallon.
Warnock will find them.... Much more likely he tried to steel a couple of fringe players from QPR on loan to muscle up the defense and midfield.

Agree5 Disagree2

Arent derry and hulse fringe players at qpr you sort of contradict your arguement about getting ex players back. myself i wouldnt mind getting derry back imo a far better alternative to brown

Agree2 Disagree1

Hopefully Warnock can get the best out of Brown, when Barry Ferguson played against us for Blackpool he ran the show without hardly leaving the centre circle.. The midfield has lacked someone to dictate games all season.

Agree5 Disagree0

In reply to the 2nd post above; I know what you mean, mate, and agree to a certain extent. But I have to disagree about the second-coming of Batty. He contributed many of his great Bremner-like qualities to that midfield and was part of one of our great sides (again). He did get crocked, though. Wasn't quite so young any more, and still liked to get stuck-in. Only my opinion, but I remember being delighted with his return. I was in the Lowfield Rd stand for his incredible solo goal against N County in the title season, so maybe I was biased in his favour when he came back! Cheers.

Agree2 Disagree0

I m the 2nd post...Yeh, Batty, I was also there for that one...and also did nt he score his first against City? When he didn t have a clue how to celebrate? I was in the kop that day and the whole stand seemed to try to engulf him. 5 minutes later I was about 100 yards from my mates near the top.... Yeh, I was well pleased when he came back, but it sort of felt dirty....he was never as good, if I m honest..and then that was the thing with the money near the end when he wasn t even playing as he was injured.
Still a legend. Him, Stachan, Macca and of course the late great Gary Speed. Marvelous times.

I can see NW being the perfect man for the job?
There is a part of me - and its only because of KB and no other reason that makes me think 44 days......
Lets hope it's the former

Believable4 Unbelievable1

I agree with what you say about the potential for another clough 44 days scenario but at last bates has realised the need of a manager with a spine. no doubt they will have bust ups but warnock is a big enough character to deal with it. his first job has got to be to identify which players he wants to keep for a promotion push for next season because i feel his appointment is 10 games too late for this season. i think its the end of the line for a lot of players ie parker brown sam bromby odear et al the rest of the dross we have got as he will need to cut the wage bill to get some decent players in. good luck neil and welcome to a magnificent club at last we have got a manager with a pair of balls lets hope papa smurf backs you

Agree5 Disagree0

Bates is a great chairman for Leeds he gets slammed for taking Leeds into administration, imo Leeds should have gone into administration as soon as we was relegated from the premiership. Since the administration days I think bates has been one of the best chairman in the football league.

leeds to reignite interest in former cb matthew kilgallon, is not first choice at sunderland and warnock is keen to work with him again after their time at sheffield united

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Wondered how long it would take for the 'obsessed with former players' to start finding links.

Agree5 Disagree1

Former player under warnock, former leeds player too. So which former player bit are we moaning about? Should we thinking about is he better than the defenders we already got?

Agree2 Disagree1

Or should we:

a) stop pointless speculation focussed entirely on former players and wait and see who Colin wants

and

b) look for better players than the ones we have - I don't see Kilgallon being significantly better, if at all, than Lees, Bruce or a health O'Brient

Agree2 Disagree2

I was just wondering what former player part we should be concerned about. Considering being able to defend makes winning games easier

19 Feb 2012 09:06:22
Lets vote with our feet ...... all the way the Elland Road ..... Let's get behind Warnock, he is the right man for us and WILL get us back to the PL

If you are going to moan and chant a load of old crap , then stay away ..... a true Leeds fan would go to every game and support the men in white !

Believable15 Unbelievable3

C'mon guys the time for the Bates out chants is now over (He's not going to listen anyway) It's time for us all to get behind the team as Warnock i'm sure will sort out the slackers and bring in the type of players to get us back in the premiership, it might not be this season but at least we have now given him chance to look at the team before the close season so he can weigh up where he needs to improve. {Ed013's Note - Well said}

Agree10 Disagree3

Well said mate we should be getting 28000 plus each game leeds is the 3rd biggest city a one team city i no all the bates stuff but we should start to make er a tuff place for away teams to visit. well done bates for getting warnock

I believe the appointment of NW is a massive turning point for us ..... a fresh start and if we get behind him and the lads a positive future ..... he know what he is doing and will I'm sure quickly turn us into decent side again .... we need to help him and make ER a fortress again ... let's all get behind our team and new manager .... we are Leeds !! MOT

Believable8 Unbelievable2

19 Feb 2012 08:44:04
Yesterday upon riving at Elland Road I was given a flyer asking me to stay out of the ground and enter on the 7th minute which would represent the 7 years of lies we have been given from KB....i have been going to ER for 30 years and wild still be going long after papa smurf has gone...... it is time to wake up ! ..... he will not be going until we get to the PL, so let's all stop moaning and chanting, the best thing we can all do is get behind the lads and new manager, this is the only way to oust the chairman, he is a business man . like it, love him or hate him .... he isn't going anyway in the short term ..... asking everybody to boycott the Southampton game is totally pointless, KB doesn't given a s**t, so why not go to the game and support the lads on a game that will be very difficult for them ..... if you were a true lees fan you would know what i say is right ..... lets all stop moaning and support OUR TEAM !

Believable18 Unbelievable3

Qyite true ,the guy gave me one to which i screwed up and threw back at him.Back the team 100% M.O.T

Posted comment two weeks ago that WARNOCK would be our man. He has always admired the Leeds fans and extent of the support. 'Its half the job done' When you have 5000 fans supporting you away from home and the Kop full at every home game. Looking forward to exciting times but not expecting miracles... although we all dream :)

Apparently, Warnock was offered more money to be the new manager at Uddersfield, but prefered Leeds.
If this is true, then good for him.

I heard that too. apparently he was offered near on £1m if they got promotion...

Great appointment as new boss.
Warnocks got experience and passion.
He s also got several teams promoted, which at this level is the equivalent to winning silverware. There s not many managers who ve won multiple promotions, let alone are actually available.
An 18 month contract is very financially astute. If things go well, it can be renewed, if things don t then we don t end up paying massive compensation like some stupidly run clubs do. Not many managers last more than 2 or 3 years at one club anyway. Everyone s a winner.
Sh$t, we re lucky we got on there first before Real Madrid snapped him up.
An excellent bit of business Captain Birdseye.... I m sure the lifetime supply of your fishy fingers was a deal clincher.

Told all you guys it was either Redfearn or Warnock. Delighted with Warnock. I am right about a great many things! He will get formation and tactics right and it would not surprise me if we go unbeaten to the end of the regular season. Play-offs beckon (becchion....lol) in my opinion.
