Would love to see us bid for Kemar Roofe exactly what we need, him feeding off Wood would be just what we need, this would allow cook to play a little deeper where he is a lot more effective, I think they'd be tempted by £1million! Thoughts? Also saw the right back on loan at Oxford from mk Dons, George Baldock he looked handy too! Pacy and looked good both attacking and defending!

Yeah Mot 0308 The boy roofe looks good direct and quick looks like he may be able to step up to championship only young at 23 think he came from the baggies, could be worth a punt in that search for a Vydra type big Steve was on about.

I don't think we are that far off having a very good team.

Silvestri / another
Taylor / decent
Cooper ok
Another cb with pace/ byram money
Bernardo when fit
Bridcutt / sign permanently now with byram money
Cook / hoping his decision making in final third will improve with experience. It should be by now.
Dallas / decent
Carayol / with a bit more consistency
Wood
Another striker- a quick fox in the box / money from sale of sloth, bianchi, / dead wood.

That's a pretty good 11.

Doukara, antunucci, Murphy, mowett, Doyle on bench.

Spelling mistake with berardi and coyle on bench not Doyle . Had a couple of ciders
Do apologise😄.

{Ed003's Note - no probs}

Cooper very suspect especially if Belusci is not on the pitch to get him out of trouble. The rest of the names are 'decent' but that's the problem no 'stand outs'. Our besayer is supposedly Cook but he's an 18 year old with talent but a lot to learn. Other youngsters ditto. We are as you say decent ie mid table at best - even with Belusci playing - nice beard and shorts!

Hopefully Bolton can get back in it. It will be tougher to play them away IMO.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2016 17:47:09
So Bristol City game on Saturday big game, IMO we need to win this or we could end up in a bit of a lower mid table scrap for a bit. (No fears about any real trouble but none of us want to be there obviously. ) So the side I would play would be this: 1.Silvestri (Hope he is back to his best and has not been knocked by critics or the bad performance. ) 2.Coyle 3.Taylor (Just so consistent it is great. I know we all think this but I just wanted to write this down to give him more credit. ) 4.Cooper Duper 5.Hess's secret crush Bellusci 6.Bridcutt 7.Cookie 8.Mowatt 9.Carayol 10." The golden child" Dallas 11.Woody (If fit. ) In a 451. (Leave your opinion about the side below. ) Hopefully we get to see a good positive attacking performance. With Cook and Mowatt attacking and being as dangerous as they can be, and as good as they can be with Bridcutt in with his defensive presence in behind that IMO could be the key to success in the centre of the park. (You all know my opinion about youngsters. ) So hopefully if that happens we can get a good positive performance and a good comfortable 2 0 win, on the road to have the best season we possibly can have. (Hopefully including an Fa Cup run. ) Don't underestimate the power of the force of the Mighty Whites. (Star Wars reference :) . ) MOT!

Good shout Stan play Mowatt in the no 10 role as a second striker rather than cookie as mo can shoot and score goals, depending on mo's fitness take him off for auntie Lucy if it's not working, can't make bristol but see you at Brentford guys for an away jolly up, any spoons in Brentford MM? 😂.

Hopefully with the Byram saga closing to an end we should be able to start concentrating on recruiting to stabilise our position in the league. We only have 12 days or so left to do any business and I can't help but think that we don't ehave enough time.

We still need adequate cover upfront, quality in midfield and at the back and now need to replace a RM as Botaka isn't going to get a chance.

Sloth and Bianchi don't feature in Stevos plans so just get rid. Get them of the wage bill and let them go ply their trade elsewhere.

Cellino is again using smoke and mirrors with regards to the Byram's transfer to West Ham being of 'less value' than the Everton offer. How gullible does he think Leeds fans are? The Everton offer was made first for circa £3.7m with add ons of £1.3m. The West Ham deal matches the Everton offer (£3.7m) with no add ons. 'The West Ham offer will make us worse off' I hear you cry however the player is still contracted to us therefore Cellino was under no obligation to accept the West Ham deal and by the basic principle of supply and demand I would expect the price to increase not decrease if more than one party is interested. The main difference between the 2 offers will be that West Ham will be offering the bulk of the £3.7m up front where Everton will want to pay in instalments. This situation gives Cellino he ideal opportunity to blame Byram for leaving us less money available to spend in this or the summer window. You can't believe a word that comes out of Cellino, he has a B. A in BS.

Believable2 Unbelievable8

19 Jan 2016 14:08:05
If he rejects the offer from West Ham then Byram will just wait until the Summer when he can leave for compo which, if the stories are to be believed, will be £2m. Not sure he can reject the offer after all and just expect an increased one to be made.

Agree2 Disagree2

19 Jan 2016 14:15:48
Who knows but if Sam wanted to go to the Hammers he could have pressurised Leeds by saying wouldn't go anywhere else even if it meant waiting till Summer. Leeds would have lost another chunk of cash. I don't what is the truth. Whose word can you trust in football? Even Sam is, in my opinion, is not the angel fans portray him as. He has appeared to be a bit bolshie with management on occasion over the years and Cellino certainly put his nose out of joint with his comments. Bottom line. Sam's gone. Wh an how I don't know and I don't really care. Just let's see what the future brings. Hopefully better players.

Agree2 Disagree0

19 Jan 2016 14:42:45
Fair point Mel, but what is to stop Sam rejecting the West Ham offer now and joining them in the Summer for an increased salary/ signing on bonus? Hesslian, I agree that Sam is not whiter than white but I think Cellino cast the first stone in that saga. Let's see how he uses the transfer money.

I hate these kinda posts as no one really knows until said deal is done.

The guy is going, we move on, he can choose who he wants, I don't care if to W Ham/ Everton and as we all know he will go for less in summer so better for us if he sold in Jan. The idea that somehow MC would not get the best price for him in the situation he faces (i. e. contract runs out) is a bit mad as it is his money and why would any of us do that, we would not nor would MC.

I'm bored of the whole Sam B thing, let's talk about what if anything we are doing in Jan window as I ain't seen much about this recently it seems to have stopped, that false CF guy from Bolton would seem a decent bet as we need goals and he could play just behind Wood, 2 m seems OK to me.

19 Jan 2016 16:03:15
This is what Cellino's time has done for us loyal fans, we are yet again watching the vultures that are in the premiership picking the bones of the our once great football club. I am afraid we can lay the mess of this transfer firmly at the feet of Cellino's, if he was serious about keeping Byram he would have sorted out the new contract with Him long before he tried to get him to sign a new contract. I am afraid no matter how you dress this up No matter what side of the dense you sit, I am afraid this lies firmly with Cellino and unless he sorts out a new contract for Lewis Cook we will find ourselves in a similar position next year.

Notts Sam wants to sign for WHU! doesn't matter if Everton offered 10 million, he doesn't want to sign for them! MC took the West Ham United offer now because LEEDS get more money! It would have gone to tribunal in the summer!

Thanks kjc, I more than understand the point that Mel and yourself are making. I just think it is better to have the debate than resort to having a cheap shot at someone. I don't trust Cellino and think he has engineered this transfer as soon as he asked Byram to take a pay cut. The fact he is not getting full value for the player is firmly his own fault. Probably need to be a bit clearer in my posting in future.

19 Jan 2016 18:09:08
Byram had his head turned and looked after number 1 I said it weeks ago no matter what we offered he has big ideas about himself and his agent was in his ear looking for a big payday.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2016 18:30:33
Cheap shots?, not when you are paying to watch the mighty whites ha ha, well we don't have many shots and it ain't cheap to get in either. Now I know why I don't do jokes.

Agree Sat game is kinda important as those 2 defeats have really put a downer on the fans and once again we looking down as 8 points off rel not that much, having said that win our next 2 and we will only be 10 -12 points away from top 6 so easy to see why it is still important to do something in the window.

PS Feel Sat will be a tough game as we always seem to struggle with these ones at home against lower type teams.

Agree0 Disagree1

19 Jan 2016 20:28:41
Agree with Notts. MC not to be trusted. Sam done nothing wrong, unless you call not wanting to take a paycut wrong? I must admit that the price is good though, considering his contract is nearly up so Cellino can pat himself on the back for that one. I just wonder if that cash will be re-invested in the team? Hope I am wrong but I doubt it!

19 Jan 2016 12:05:54
Reports saying that Sam could be loaned out for the rest of the season by WHam. I posted my fear of this scenario a couple of weeks back. No doubt he'll join a promotion chasing team and score against us!

The whole situation sucks, especially now it seems we'll be getting less dollar with the West Ham deal.

If the choice was based on getting first team football, why pick Hammers over Everton if they're just going to loan him out. I can't see him going to a Premier team on loan.

MM.

I'm assuming his main reason for choosing West ham was the guarantee of first team football. I can't see him going to be loaned out.

This transfer window is such a joke, we are b Ing told "we are working on deals". really?
You see all other teams signing players, some who are linked to us and I really can't se anything happening, the Byram saga will end soon then the excuses will come that we haven't got enough time now to sign anyone! joke.

Any intelligent ideas why Sam joining West Ham instead of Toffee? Must be about location. All I can think of is he wanted southern comfort.

Leeds still best city in the world and centre of the Universe.

Probably a mix of the bright lights of London and better wages than Everton but most likely he will have a better chance of regular 1st team football George as he would be bench warming when seamus Coleman returns from injury, think he also has relatives living down south. I think we will be OK with beradi and coyle for now mate sad to see him go but wish him well.

Probably got a better chance of getting a game. Martinez came and and said he was cautious about signing him. To me that sounds like he'll be in the reserves for a good while.
