Surely mills can't be the player who excites Brian?Good player though he probably is, I was expecting flair player or goalscorer personally, perhaps that's a different player

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well I for one am excited that we potentially get a multi million pound player to help us keep clean sheets. I remember on these same postings a few years ago when Leicster paid all that money for him, people were whinging that we couldn't get him because Bates wouldn't fund a deal. BMD
will give him back his Mojo, after all he plucked him out of nowhere from Doncaster for a steal and turned him into a multi million pound defender.
Trust the Gaffer he knows what he is doing.

Red Bull to invest £650m in Leeds United before end of august this includes stadium naming rights new kit design badge change and club name change to RED BULL LEEDS SPORTING CLUB. oh and the building of a DEATH STAR just outside the earths atmosphere above Elland Road so we can destroy old trafford and stamford bridge

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Haaahaaaaaaa very drull. But I will help build the death star for nought if we destroy old trafford.

Agree0 Disagree0

You make me laugh oh and yuppp.

Agree0 Disagree0

I like the investment part and the deathstar part but not so sure about the rest. However, the deathstar would be worth it

Agree0 Disagree0

It's agreed then. "The Red-Bull Death Star" aimed at Old Trafford

Agree0 Disagree0

Death stars are always destroyed lol wouldn't be worth he risk lol

I might be wrong but can't say I have heard anything to contradict what I am going to ask, so please bear with me.
Are we missing a trick here, re the GK "vacancy" Scottish International still without a club (thats the bit I don't know for fact) previously cost £ 9 million, currently training with Rangers I think, namely Craig Gordon only 30 years old and available and given our previous "luck" with Scottish keepers worth a punt?

MOT Wilsosd

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No he will want big wages and there r better younger gks.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good idea. but I'm sure he retired as he couldn't get over the injury

Agree0 Disagree0

OP Here Big wages, surely any wage is better than the no wage he is getting now? as for retired did a bit of digging is def training with Rangers on none contract basis

With the interest confirmed in Mills we'll see whether GFH have a transfer kitty. I have a feeling this won't be
a loan move. I think they are being shrewd with not making public that we have cash to spend.
Can't wait for the 3rd!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hope its just a loan have you seen how slow he is?

Agree0 Disagree0

John terrys hardly usain bolt is he. U wouldn't mind having him at centre back. Quit moaning and support new signings

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not Fifa his pace isn't s major factor

Agree0 Disagree0

Pace is huge 4 a cb. willy zaha would run rings round him and many others.

Agree0 Disagree0

He won't be coming up against zaha though will he's going to be playing in the prem

Looks like leeds are moving in on matt mills, a very accomplished cb that I believe would be a fantastic addition to the team! The only thing I would say is that I doubt he is the player Brian said he is 'excited' about. The reason I say this is because it's not a word you'd usually use to describe a cb, however good he is. If I am right in saying this, then that means there is more to come! Buckle up guys and dolls mot

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I like mills but we currently have better.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think we should let mcdermott be the judge of that after all he is the man in charge

YP has announced that Leeds have made an enquiry for Matt Mills. I sometimes find it confusing why we feel the need to wait to secure deals for players in that we needed a quality centre back 3 weeks ago. With just over a week to go before the start of the season it would have made more sense to bring mills into the fold earlier. I suppose the answer is that by waiting we make Bolton more desperate and therefore get a better deal, does the end justify the means?

He Dumps where he waaaaaaaants

He Dumps where he waaaaaants

He's Ross McCormack

he dumps where he wants!

regarding an article in the "reflective glass"

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why would we want to chant that about one of our players. just no mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha that sounds like something else he s. ts where he wants add to the end of that you wanna watch out or he'll dump on you

Would have thought Chris Dawson would have been in and amongst the first team for tomorrows game. Wonder if he`s still in bmd`s plans?
DP.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hes had a shoulder operation mate. But I know for a fact he will be ok for the season. I work with his uncle. Mot.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aint he injured?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope so i'd like to see Dawson, Taylor and Poleon getting a few run outs this season

Agree0 Disagree0

Dawson playing for the development squad tommorrow at boston just hope he gets a chance to start a few games for the first team

Only positives can come out of a link up with redbull. Finance is the big one but also a greater level of attraction for players as it shows some serious ambition. I personally have been really impressed with GFH so far. They made great signings with potential in Luke Murphy and Matt Smith. Noel Hunt is class and matt mills would be great. Chuck a couple more in there and perhaps a few quality loans from the premiership and we will be right in contention

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We have a tie up with holiday inns which is the bigget hotel group in the world, compass who are the biggest in the world in their field of catering. if we get red bull on board as well it would be awesome. all serious players and all worthy of a prem club. 3 more quality signings and we will be in our most positive position for ten years surely.

Red Bull buying Elland Road and re-naming the ground.

http://tinyurl.com/ngabon5

I personally think this is a good thing. All the fans will still call it Elland Road anyway but it would get some more much needed investment in players and we would own the Stadium again, so we don't have to pay fees to use it every season.

Matt. M

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Who are red bull going to be paying? we don't own elland road anymore. we rent so it looks like bates is going to get a nice paycheque. to me this sounds like bates had this all planned. I hope i'm wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jul 2013 10:39:04
if this red bull sponsorship goes through and elland road gets renamed will it really be that bad? at least we will have a war chest to compete I can't see it happening any other way. we will still know it as elland road.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We won't have a war chest gfh will keep most of it to get back their investment.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think a major International company like Red Bull would invest in Leeds just to let GFH take it for profit, they wiuld want to see Leeds pushing on for the Prem to seethir investment reap maximum publicity.
Why be so negative always. They havnt put a foot wrong yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Red bull linking up with a mid table c-ship club which is what we are at the moment is not their style. they must be convinced we a going to be in the prem in the next few years and be part of the success.

Mcc offer in
Worth considering if we could splash the cash on defender and prolific
Gonna take a while to shift the dead wood, not even sure if we will be stuck with them.
$2mill plus is reasonable for him I reckon.
You all agree right?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No its not worth considering he's are main player and his happy at the club

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont often find myself agreeing with ausman posts but this obe I do 100%!

Agree0 Disagree0

No I don't agree cause we need McCormack because help in the attack and defence is not the biggest position we need filling its wingers

Agree0 Disagree0

3.5 mill atleast - would be price of a replacement - don't want McCormack to go - successful Leeds sides always have Scots in them ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

Nar considering marvin emnes from boro is worth 1.5 mill then mccormack has 2 b 3mill plus. if we sell mccormack then we have no chance of going up, you really think hunt, smith, poleon will strike fear into any defence? smith I like but poleon is not ready yet and hunt is useless. mccormack is still miles better than any of our attackers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah def agree if the money is used well

Agree0 Disagree0

Bunch of romantics except 2nd post. Brothers in arms pal!
Mcc has great commitment, works hard, promises heaps but dosent deliver. He is not a prolific striker. He will not be our top scorer this season and he ain't worth 3. 5. Bet you lot still write to your first girlfriend!? Jeees.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ausman why would it make sense to get rid of a player that clearly enjoys playing for this club

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes worth atleast 3 mill. he is a decent goal scorer but we just need teamplaying midfielders not greedy like austin and brown. remember ross at cardiff he was scoring for fun. better mid and he will score as he's proved in past

Brad Jones could be the keeper to replace Ashdown with Liverpool buying Mignolet and already having Reina he won't want to be a number three when he can be a number one at Leeds. {Ed001's Note - he is a Liverpool fan who has said many times that he would rather be a reserve at Liverpool than a first teamer anywhere else. So you might be wrong on that, though you can't always believe what people say.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hes a god awful goalkeeper anyway, did you see some of his performances for Boro?

Possible free agent back up keepers: Turnbull, Camp, Mucha, Cerny

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Isnt Gordon still available? not quite a back up keeper but still.

Still annoyed we missed out on Carson.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hate it when fans make out like we have missed out on a player how do you know mcdermott even wanted him

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do people think we will sign a permanent keeper because of Ashdowns injury? - When Ashdown is well again we would have 4 keepers - surely a loan is more likely

Agree0 Disagree0

Jan mucha from everton? you must b having a laugh he's quality and will b at a bigger team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nah don't sign Craig Gordon, don't trust anybody with 2 first names
