I wish people would stop making all these flippant remarks about our club. Personally, I have found the last 18 months very distressing. Not knowing what is going on/not going on/lots of money/no money.
I feel for fans, players, and Neil Warnock, all of whom deserve so much better.

Believable12 Unbelievable0

I agree with the first bit about feeling for the fans but warnock no way do I feel sorry for him he can walk when ever he chooses us fans are here forever to deal with everything that gets thrown at us

Agree5 Disagree4

Looks like there won't be any further investment in the team while GFH are trying to sell it at a profit.

So another 12 months of total uncertainty then.

iwould be surprised if club buy normans medals! as they are ready to offload us to another invester asap I said all along becareful what u wish for when some fans wanted rid of bates! nickybee

I was very dubious regarding GFH but I felt the saving grace was once they had delved through Bates many scams and offshore companies we would be a lot easier to sell on hopefully!

I've heard that Leeds will re-build their side using free signing, and players well past their sell by date for 2013-2014 season.

We will sell Lees and Byram to our parent club Norwich and the height of our ambition will be a "good cup run" to make a few quid and keeping the gate over 15,000 per game.

Said in jest, hope to god I'm wrong!

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Said in jest yes, but it'll be interesting to see how accurate this prediction is.

Yes I'm pesimisic, but there's not much to optomistic about right now.

lets hope big things will happen in the summer with leeds, I think the owners are planning for next season already who ever is in charge will surely ring in the changes squad wise. been looking at the out of contract players for the summer and there is some premier league players that may step down a league to prove thier worth.
think a young manager is needed and as long as they keep blooding out team of young talent like byram etc then we should be ok.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

19 Mar 2013 21:14:46
Personally I do not think the owners are planning for next season, I think they are planning for a quick sale. Where are they? why was the Q&A session cancelled? why has it not been rearranged? why is Warnock still in charge? because ultimately they are not going to be around any longer than Warnock if their plan comes to fruition.

Agree7 Disagree0

" I think the owners are planning for next season "

I think that should read:

I think the owners are planning to sell us and make a big profit for themselves next season

( Norman hunters auction ) I just can't help but feel a bit sad about him selling his meddels. He is keeping 1 or 2 back though! Norman has said he would love the club to buy hem. surely gfh should buy hem and then put them in the norman hunter suite at elland road? would just like to say what a great man big norman really his. A propper leeds united legend. Mot. {Ed013's Note -I agree mate}

Believable15 Unbelievable0

Would be a great gesture from the club, they surely must buy them.

Agree7 Disagree0

19 Mar 2013 20:10:58
It would be nice if GFH bought em but how much longer are they going to be around? they ain't interested in heritage just a quick profit!

heres what i'd like to see happen. get adkins signed up even if we leave warnock in charge till the end of the season. i'd then sell byram to man city for 8 million. I know he is probably a future england international but we need the cash if we are to get to the premier league. with the 8 million re-invested in the squad and spent wisely we should have one of the strongest squads in the league. players i'd like to see signed are:

johnny russell - dundee utd - 2 mill
gary mackay-steven - dundee utd - 2 mill
alan hutton - mallorca - free/nominal
kirk broadfoot - blackpool - free
graham dorrans - wba - free
albert adamoah - bristol city - 3 mill
young dutch midfielder at chelsea - season long loan

thats 7 million spent leaving 1 million for signing on fees. gfh only need to cover the increase in wages which would come from higher gates due to a more attractive style of football and success on the pitch. not rocket science. what do you think?

Believable2 Unbelievable15

I think your mad, why sell byram now he's under a long term contract. We won't go up by selling our best players as we've proven over the last 2 yrs.

Agree5 Disagree0

OP here. 1 player out and 6 in. its no brainer and we ain't got a pot to piss in

Agree0 Disagree2

19 Mar 2013 20:15:21
Adomah 3 mill? seriously? maybe 1 mill, don't fancy Hutton, never really fulfilled potential. If someone opens the bidding at 8 mill for Sam I would hold out for 12 mill but hopefully next owners will have some cash behind them and we won't need to sell.

Agree1 Disagree0

From the look of things NW could be here for the rest of the season, if, as reported GFH are in negotiations to either sell the club outright, or a percentage, the new owners will want to bring their own man in, we could be heading for months of uncertainty again, no investment and NW as custodian, what a horrible thought, GFH were never in it for the long haul, just a quick profit, now there's little chance of promotion, looks like they're doing a runner, God forbid its Bates to take over the reins again, so come on you investors great club, great fans great potential, splash the cash.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bates has never let go of the reins. GFH are just a front for him. I've said this before - if they really had bought out Bates why on earth would they leave the most hated person in the history of our great club as some kind of 'father figure' to steer the club through the transition period. Bates out and bring your GFH partners with you.

I want either adkins or mcdermott next season as manager! was just wondering what players people would offload next season.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I'd offload:
Kenny (high earner, Ashdown more than capable replacement)
Rachubka (. )
Drury (waste of space)
Kissa (thanks mate, bye)
Bromby (Warnock's retirement home)
Connolly (yes still on the books)
Green (injury prone, not top 2 standard)
Norris (aged jack of no trades)
Austin (we might just be able to get our money back off a lesser club. not good enough for ours)
Pugh (still our player somehow)
Brown (put your feet up with Colin)
Diouf (aging. can't see any more decent performances coming from him. )
Morison (not good enough)
Habibou (waste)
Somma (would be a good signing for a league 1 team)

so basically a new team again. de ja vu.

Agree2 Disagree7

19 Mar 2013 18:01:46
keep byram, diouf, warnock and morrison. get shut of the rest

Paul Rachubka
Patrick Kisnorbo
Danny Pugh
Michael Brown
Paul Connolly
Davide Somma? (good finisher but wasting funds now)

Aidan White? - probably get rid of white as he could
bring over 1 million in and he's not that great
Adam Drury? -??who is this???
-------------------------------------------------
start to introduce taylor, dawson and poleon into the squad more and bring in 4 or 5 new players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would also keep Ashdown and Somma, bring back Poleon as well

I think many of the players who look rubbish now would flourish under a new system. I would certainly keep Diouf, Drury, Austin, Green, Norris, Somma, Morison out of your list for at least one more season. Kenny can go and keep Ash as num 2. We could do a lot worse than get Robbo back in goal!

Agree0 Disagree0

What the f**ck is the 1st poster on diouf has been very good this season very rarely puts a foot wrong, kenny great keeper dodgey defence rudy Austin our last match vs Huddersfield u know we didn't win but rudy and diouf were our best players out there and also why flog Morison when he hasn't even played a full season we can't expect him to come on the pitch and score a hatrick what do u think ed? {Ed013's Note - Diouf is good at slowing the game down and holding up the ball. He is a good player and has good performances left in him, I just wish he stayed on his feet more}

Id like a manager that goes about his business quietly and let's the football do the talking. I don't want a loud-mouth tv personality who loves the limelight. let's get a manager who nurtures the youth combined with some level headed experience and chooses a worthy captain who will galvanise the squad and give them a good kick up the ar*e if they are not performing well enough. Is that too much to ask GFH?

Believable6 Unbelievable2

So you want Adkins eh!

Agree3 Disagree0

19 Mar 2013 13:28:43
I like many Fans want Adkins in. The problem is a fundamental reality on our ability to attract someone like Adkins

"GFH is not in this to spend seriously big bucks. and certainly won't do this just for the pleasure of the fans"

Leeds philanthropy may underpin members of their Board's personal motivations. but no Capital investment group is doing this for anything other than profit and profile.

Unless they see a guaranteed Net Present Value/Return On Investment, GFH won't spend big.

The bigger the spend required. the bigger the risk. the bigger the required guarantees on NPV/ROI. And Championship football is not that predictable. So they'll reduce the investment and go long term

That's how capital investment groups think. Anything else is fantasy.

Private individual investors. different story. Roman Abramovic invests big to magnify the size of his appendage.

Unfortunately, C#~!$~a thhrough Champions League runs has made his appendage look like the size of an articulated truck. albeit it cost him more than a hundred million quid to achieve this magnification.

For you and I, there's devices on the internet for about 20 quid that get more modest increases. and this is more akin to what GFH is spending and achieving. but I digress.

Bottom line. If we want serious cash. and serious management. we need a different type of investor.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

So what are you saying?, lost me after Adkins in!

Agree3 Disagree0

19 Mar 2013 20:23:49
GFH aren't going to spend, they will flip as soon as they get a good price. They aren't rushing to lose Warnock because they are in talks with someone to sell. Another reason why no new loan players!

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Mar 2013 11:56:45
So Paul green says the only reason he signed was because Warnock was in charge and he hopes he stays, the only reason he wants Warnock to stay is because he knows the new manager would clean up all the garbage and I'm sorry to say Paul you would be first because you are the biggest piece of garbage to put on a Leeds shirt, pity Warnock in charge didn't convince you to stay away because your free ride is coming to an end, its safe to say your s---e, bye bye, our clubs just to big for you, hey you never know Norwich might take you or maybe huddersfield {Ed013's Note - That is very harsh on Paul Green. He is no where near as bad as you are making him sound}

Believable6 Unbelievable30

19 Mar 2013 12:53:32
Greeny has been better than most, works his b*****ks off and has been a driving force this season, I think you have him confused with Micheal brown but then again he has been good as well, do you support a team in white and blue strips? Sour grapes
MOT

Agree16 Disagree1

Eds notes are right BUT the lads right aswell green in defo not good enough for a leeds shirt. mot

Agree4 Disagree12

Very harsh, think he's been one of the better players this season!

Agree20 Disagree3

Becoming a familar trend. SO called Leeds fans talkin absolute crap on this site. Green has had a decent season and works tirelessy for the team with no shortage of quality. He and Byram seem to work well down the right side together. For me not many players have outshone him this season. Lees, Byram would be about it. OP probably one of the persons who thought Varney was useless at the start of the season only now to admit that he's a good player. Or one of those who slagged off Peltier and then after a few clean sheets while playing CB claiming we have found the perfect defence, which isn't true either. Ah as much as I enjot this site it pisses me off at the same time! Roll on next season. MOT

Agree4 Disagree0

Green has been great this season! Tbh i've never seen two more hard working players in a leeds shirt than Green and Norris (recently, before somebody cries about players they watched in 1940s)

Agree1 Disagree0

"I think you have him confused with Micheal brown but then again he has been good as well"

I think you have Brown confused with a footballer, mate, all I've seen him do is run around the pitch trying to kick the opposition and risk getting himself sent off practically every time he has played.

I for one am glad that he no longer starts in the team, at least we can keep 11 players on the pitch for most of the game that way.

Green tries hard and works hard, Brown certainly doesn't.

We will never be happy with any manager.
Whoever we get there will be haters.
If we get promoted, there will be people who don't like the style of football. We will be in a Premiership relegation battle every year, if we go up.
Or we stay in the championship playing great football, this won't be good enough either!
Good luck to whoever comes in next. Youve got a tough crowd to please!

Believable20 Unbelievable3

Too right mate. We are hard to please so We don't want a sissy manager Just a sane one!

Agree6 Disagree1

19 Mar 2013 09:38:28
with warnock incharge we setup nearly every game like we was the underdogs ready to fight to stay up and not to go for promotion.
hopefully a new manager will get us setup with an attacking passing tactic even if we had to have another season in the championship atleast we would be heading in the right direction.
if you play good passing football you will eventually win games.

A managers job
Buy good players, some experienced, some up and coming talent.
Blood some of tbe academy players in our team.
Continuosly seek to improve the team
Motivate players
Keep crticism for the dressing room
Play players in their right position
Play as good as football as possible
Change the game plan if needbe
Pick a starting 11 and make substitutions as and when required
Shield players from the press
Play players you buy
Take the blame if things go wrong
Be certifiably sane
Neil, please tick when achieved.
Nothing to do with gfh, funds or players. Stop thinking of excuses for him.
We would have prob got promotion with a different manager as apart from 3 teams, tve rest are completely average and inconsistent.

Believable5 Unbelievable7

Got to agree about taking the blame when things go wrong! NW just blames McCormack if it goes wrong! Adkins took the blame when we beat them 3-0
