whittingham(deal that could invovle mccormack)
boyd(500k)
gradel(season loan)

klasnic(free)

5 of these would be perfect.

Loan do not help the team it will crash it when they leave only when a player is out

Agree3 Disagree0

Loans are only any good if you loan a top player that will really make a difference to the team . we have mostly signed young players with no experience or old players with no legs .

Agree2 Disagree0

Haha ambrose for 800k? maybe in our dreams. more like £3/4m. klasnic wages too much i expect. loans wont happen

Hi, could not get on the banter page, but cut me and I bleed white, but well done Chelsea, sometimes it is good that football is the winner.
Been on the wrong end of some games against them, but so what, hopefullt what goes around comes around.

tRip {Ed013's Note - well said mate, that took a lot for you to say that}

Believable9 Unbelievable4

Agree - fair play to them. They have been a lesson in sticking at it and never, ever giving up. Let's hope the Leeds Utd of next season have more in common with them than the Leeds Utd of the season just finished.

Believable1 Unbelievable5

That is implying we only keep snoddy in the starting 11, and buying 10 others and just expecting them to gel :/

LufcJay

Agree2 Disagree0

But beckford has worked with snoddy before and NW knows what hes doing

Agree0 Disagree2

Warnock will gel whoever our new signings are. He's done it before.

Harte has signed a contract extension for Reading. no chance.

if leeds have struggeld to find the 400,000 for ward would people on here stop posting that we are going to sign player,s for a £1mil plus no chance are we going to sign anyone for more than free {Ed013's Note - Let them have their fun! no one knows Leeds budget other than Shaun, Ken and Neil's group}

Believable0 Unbelievable6

And the unknown corporate finance company's in switzerland and the caymon islands.

Agree3 Disagree0

Don't forget we've made a profit over the last 3 season and with sales of players, means we have got money in the bank but with bates in control of it, it's like a greek bank. Now prove us all wrong mister bates and spend are money. Before you make us the laughing stock of the championship. Then see how many tickets you sell. mot4life

Agree3 Disagree0

There is no way we're struggling to find £400 000. People believing that are taking the negative slant approach a bit too far.

Agree3 Disagree1

We haven't made a profit tho, you all forget our biggest signing in years, our £7 million boxes {Ed013's Note - They are from a loan as you cant borrow for players, but you can for building projects}

Agree1 Disagree1

And how is the loan paid back? Where else has Delph,gradel,kasper and howson money gone? I'm not anti bates or anything but honestly where has it gone? Obviously not on wages. What's your honest thoughts Ed? {Ed013's Note - Transfer money should be re-invested in the playing squad, but only Mr Bates knows where that is. The East stand development came from a loan in which Leeds will pay back over a set period of time. If the Casino goes through, Leeds wont pay a penny towards that and they will get a free West stand development for its troubles, so I hope it goes through. Believe it or not, Mr Bates wants to be promoted for the money it will generate and he will then have more interest in selling us on. Once Leeds are back in the big time, the ground will have top Prem facilities}

Is it me or are the noises coming out of ER very similar to last year - We are looking at many options and one by one all the names linked to Leeds end up somewhere else. Encouraged by Pearce signing now not so confident would be nice to see One or more quality incommings before end of the month {Ed013's Note - No because Neil has signed a very good player early on}

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Agree a Quality start to the signings would just like to see a few more of this level.

Agree3 Disagree0

But the thing is how do you know where missing out on the signings? Do you honestly know who Neil is looking at because I don't and I bet 99% of people on here know regardless of their " reliable source " everyone just naming player who they want Leeds to get, most of the time when we sign someone their name hasn't even popped up on any forum, so don't be so negative there's a long summer ahead and see what happens and then get behind the team who ever Neil signs

Agree2 Disagree2

19 May 2012 20:48:34
There are almost 3 months to go. Patience is a must. I don't think I can handle another season of moaning. We as fans must admit that we haven't given the greatest usual support last season. I look at Southampton or reading and I think their teams were average but the atmosphere around their clubs was amazing. In a way Colin just arrived so I hope he thinks about his signings a bit. We don't want panic Grayson style players which we are stuck with and can't get rid . Delighted with Pearce. We have to be optimistic. Great club, one of the healthiest financially waiting to be taken over. Top manager, and the greatest fans in the land. It's only a matter of when not if, so I for one am willing to wait as I think this time it will be for good. {Ed013's Note - Excellent. If only all posts were this easy to edit}

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Yes we do, every player does this, if they didn't Jason Pearce would of been at Ipswich as they were first in for him

A lot of players will do it.. It's not always about money either. Bear in mind you are committing possibly 3 or 4 years to a club. It needs to be the right choice !

Believable1 Unbelievable0

19 May 2012 17:27:10
Is there no truth in the YEP report that Leeds could have lost out on ward due to not being able to fund the deal, Ed whats your thoughts is this just someone making up a story to fill in column inches or is there any substance behind it?. White4Ever.... {Ed013's Note - Mate if Ward agreed to come then Leeds can afford it unless Pompey have asked ridicules money which in their state they can't. Pearce is a better player and therefore Ward will not cost any more}

Believable4 Unbelievable0

19 May 2012 17:20:25

OK guys its the final tonight, and if the Hammers win we most likely won't be able to get Kenny as they will keep Green who QPR want, but if Blackpool win Ward will most likely go with them to the Prem League as they have offered him a deal. So the question is this: who do you want more? Kenny or Ward? It all depends on the final! MOT {Ed013's Note - Ward}

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Ward. Kenny is no better than Lonergan.

Well put ED, not a chance i would want kenny over ward. Ward has pertential were as kenny has NIIIIIIIISSSSSSHHHHHH!!! mot4life

Craig Gordan would be a sensational signing free transfer therefore use some of the alleged transfer funds available to cover the extra wages and worst case scenario we don't get promoted and Gordan wants lo leave but we'd make a tidy profit after him having a quality season.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

I feel he just needs time on pitch, then he should get back to his best. worth a free punt warnock. mot4life

Leeds United are easily the biggest team in the N-Power football league bar none. Not the best squad at all, but the biggest club. Fans, stadium, history... and now probably the biggest named manager, so if Ward or any other player fancies going to a tinpot, 2-bit team like Ipswich/Palace for a larger wage then let him go, it's not as if we cannot attract other players (although we all know what uncle Ken is like, and how many players we have lost during contract talks due to his pure stinginess).

It does sort of show, that even though fans of Ipswich etc hate us, every player we ever show interest in, 2/3 days later a team like that decides they like the look of him too. Stop trying to be Leeds ;) it just won't happen... EVER! MOT4LYF

Believable10 Unbelievable0

Bates needs to pay more. Sounds to me like we are losing out on the best players for not ponying up the extra 20% that's needed. It's good to stick to a budget. We know what happens when you don't but if we end up paying an extra 200k in wages and agent fees to get a decent player who will help take us to the Premiership it's an extra 200k well spent. The Premiership offers about 75M more in income than the Championship when everything's factored in. It's time to gamble Papa otherwise we'll be left behind for a very long time. You won't fill a casino and a hotel if you are an average Championship club. Time to gamble.

Agree6 Disagree1

We have less 'player pulling power' than we think IMO. Players and agents aren't stupid, they want money so they go for clubs with financially committed owners. It shows ambition, and they player get a nice wage too, simple. Leeds under Bates are renowned nowadays to lack of ambition through investment. and this is despite NW appointment. The jury is still out for me. Nicko slick

To put to bed the speculation surrounding the outstanding CVA, if Leeds win promotion before the end of the 2017/18 season, they will have to pay creditors £4.75m. Source: The Swiss Ramble Website, very interesting if slightly in-depth reading!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

4,75 mil is fu=k all, when the promise land, lands you 90 million. mot4life

Agree8 Disagree0

The Lowest earners for TV this season bagged about 28million in TV rights. In the prem, the income generated from TV is split equally, on top of that you then get like 700k per TV game you are televised on. So bring on the prem please. Nickoslick

Agree3 Disagree0

Exactly second poster, it's not even an issue if we won promotion

But Bates would have to pay more out ;)

Mr bates your beginning to piss off the leeds faithfull. Why when other club owners put in abit of cash for there clubs. You still refuse to sanction these transfers, until we have sold players. ARE YOU THICK!! by the time you've pulled your finger out your arse, there wont be any players left worth buying. Big chance to get supporters onside and you still treat us like basket cases. DO SOMETHING OR F OFF, YOU SAD OLD MAN. what you goin to do get buryed with your money. SCROOGE!!! mot4life

No1 wants to come to leeds when every1 shouts bates out at every game. The atmosphere some times last season was to hostile and you could see it in the players play. Back bates for now get the new players in get to the prem! Then get BATES OUT! MOT!!

What isit with Leeds fans? We have made one signing so far and the season has just ended. Why don't everyone get behind Leeds and get behind warnock! If your gonna moan about em every second then go to another team. Leeds through and through!! MOT

Believable8 Unbelievable3

'go to another team'?
we are not Man U fans, we don't leave our team if they do not do well/how we want them to. 30,000 in league 1 signifies this!
Of course we are going to lose our patiece. Yes. It might only be early days, but in later days, players such as Ward will have been and gone!

Realistic team for next season:
Kenny(I'm 50/50 on Lonners)
Halford Lees Pearce White
Snoddy Ward Smith/Derry/Green/Clingan Hammill
Beckford(hopefully) Becchio

Subs:
1) Pugh :/
2) Somma
3) Whitbread
4) Boyd
5) Rogers

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Why hopefully beckford? he thought he was to good for leeds now that nobody wants him he wants to come back. no player is bigger than the club especially beckford i for one hope we dont get him.

19 May 2012 12:25:30
movement is slow due to the following:

player and club agree a deal ...

e.g Stoke to sign Ross MCormack etc

stoke wage is say 19k a week

Mcormack is on say 10k at leeds

why would stoke put him on may or Junes payroll ? when they can wait for July

and save ( do the sums ) a shed load

think of this for all deals this summer

Leeds may be keen to offload Mac and Claytons wages but the BUYING club will naturally wait until first pre season training week and save money in harsh times

Its not rocket science and Bates has said as such - so we must be patient whilst deals are agreed behind the scenes in principle and pre signed etc

Believable7 Unbelievable1

19 May 2012 11:53:06
According to the YEP and Ipswich Towns web Leeds are loosing the race for ward because we have faltered finding the £450.000 to finalise the deal which should have been completed by now, Warnock talked to Ward on the 9th 10 days ago, if this is correct it looks like Bates and his board are having the last say over Warnock on the money side of things. Now Blackpool are in the hunt for him chances are looking pretty slim on getting him. Looks like another victory for Bates and his piggy bank. Hope not. wwhite4ever.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

But surely Warnock is promised money and added money from other transfers and plus the YEP isn't always reliable to be fair and the Ipswich website is probably getting their info from the Yorkshire evening post

Agree2 Disagree0

It will be wages not the fee

What about... Clark Carlisle - he would give us the experience we need and knows what Leeds is about + he's a free transfer (Colonel Saunders' favourite phrase).

Believable0 Unbelievable10

19 May 2012 11:04:41
Chances are we could sign a forward from Leicester City- but it is more likely VASSELL on a free rather than BECKFORD with a fee!!

We need some more incoming activity now though, as the initial enthusiasm is wearing off- am worried in particular about central midfield- come on Mr. Bates- you have the chance to prove us wrong and provide Colin with the necessary funds to get us promoted MOT

19 May 2012 11:02:44
Hey guys, I was the one who posted about people who were saying we could get premier league players on cheap wages under 30 years old (not gonna happen).

To what I know Joel Ward IS in talks with Leeds and Blackpool so I gather that a majority of Leeds fans will want West Ham to win today.
As for players I think we could realistically:

Ivan Klasnic (There will no doubt be a problem with his wages but he has no contract therefore I'm assuming he would take around 5k cut).

James Mcfadden (Bosman, Not sure if he's the right type of player we are after but experience is key)

Halford & Ward - Reports say that we are in for them both for a joint fee of £1.75, can't see bates splashing that much.

All in all really we're getting the right type of players (hungry, young) which will make our defence much tighter than what it is currently.

WARnock's Whites

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Wow only 1.75 quid for the pair! Get them signed up only 88p each, great business there warnock! haha

Agree3 Disagree1

Ward fee 450k halford not worth 1.3m. way too many zero's for bates, no news on any leeds player sold yet so F all in kitty. inlimbo

19 May 2012 10:04:01
Under the current situation where the club is literally rebuilding, any player who rejects or stalls on a new increased offer on their contract get RID of them Immediately, all they want is the money, no heart, no desire, no commitment, no loyalty. OK i may seem as though i am being harse but enough is enough, i get sick and tired of these bloody agents trying to run our club and Dictating terms that are ridiculous. Lets just remind our selves that only a few years ago we were very close to not being here, these players and agents want showing the door out of Elland Road. Pearce the new signing is hungry, young, good player and you can see he is ready for the shirt, now this is what Leeds is about, well done lad, i hope others that arrive show the same signs. Neil Warnock knows what is expected, he knows it is going to be a roller coaster season, what he does not to see is players who are just here for the money. I say McCormack buy buy, i do not want to see you again and any one else who messes about, Snoody you as well either sign or get out, very simple.
Well that's that off my chest, i know what real Leeds fans want, 11 commited players on that pitch, NW will get that i am convinced, please a message to all Leeds fans lets be patient, lets get behind them and lets show this division what we are made of. We all want the same results. Kevin {Ed013's Note - Good Post}

Believable14 Unbelievable0

As I keep saying on here..I totally agree with the above. Good post.
It`s not about money when you have s**t loads,its about playing and achieving things,proffesionally and personally.
"T"

Agree5 Disagree0

Top post. I agree totally with what you're saying. I would sooner watch 11 committed and hungry players who play for the shirt, than a load of mercenaries who would kiss any badge for an extra grand a week. Big time Charlies go missing in games when you're backs are to the wall. I respect and admire what Warlock is trying to achieve and it will be for the good of the club. OnOnOn!

Agree6 Disagree0

I'm looking forward to next season, it's obvious not a great deal of money will be spent, but Warnock will get the players in that will WANT to play for Leeds..To many players last season where just going through the motions to pick up a wage.

Agree4 Disagree0

19 May 2012 08:33:45
A close source has told me KB not releasing any transfer funds until Clayton is sold also not prepared to pay wages at the level of other championship clubs so players like Ward can get more money elsewhere.This combined with not paying thr going rate to keep our best players almost certainly means another season of mediocrity.cannot see us getting promoted while KB in charge

Believable4 Unbelievable8

My close source told me to ignore all you moaning pessimists and wait until the season starts. By then we will know what players will be wearing a Leeds shirt, i'm sure Warnock will get the players in that will get us promoted.

Agree9 Disagree2

Not a question of moaning but of informed knowledge followed the whites fo forty years want us back where we belong just know it is unlikely to happen with current regime

Agree3 Disagree7

So say we did get promoted with what ever time we have next season are you bates hater still going to be sat there with your arms crossed and a fat bottom lip still moaning and sulking? Were now one of the small group of clubs in the uk that are debt free, I bet the deluded "fans" will still moan even if we get promoted because they expect to finish in the top 4 of the premiership,

Agree5 Disagree3

Let us get to the point on promotion. What is the point in getting promoted if we can't stay there. I think Warnock as no chance of getting a promotion winning team in one year. We need to build a team capable of staying up there. Imagine having to compete with the Man citys of this world. At this time we have no chance.

Agree2 Disagree3

Nobody can compete with Man City,but the likes of Chelsea,Arsenal,Surs etc can still spend fortunes on players,we are miles away from ever competing at the top again,although I think NW can get us up,it will need a different regime and manager to keep us there,wihout a billionare taking over, the glory years will never happen again,to achieve promotion and stay there is as much as we can realistically hope for,but we live in hope,whatever the crack,get behind the boys 100%.

Agree3 Disagree1

To the post above, Warnock threw a QPR team together and they've managed to stay up

Agree2 Disagree0

What a stupid comment! 'imagine having to come up against man city [post above]'.. yeah that is it. we will sign players that will compete against man city whilst were in the championship. in fact I hear Lionel Messi heard about us and has jumped at the chance to sign on a 20k a week max (but 15 with bates) championship Leeds squad. Who do you expect to come in to fight a team that spend upwards of 50mil every season?
We need to work it season by season, gain promotion this season with a determined, disciplined manager who knows what this league needs, and look at the premiership IF and when we get there. In Warnock we trust.
RyanMOT

Agree2 Disagree1

Not a stupid comment, it's a true fact that we can't even buy championship players never mind premiership ones. So less of the stupid comments dimwit.

Agree1 Disagree1

19 May 2012 02:19:02
'Lets put some grease in the frying pan' A Thorpe Arch regular,drunk, admits here and now that MCKORMAK = Stoke; Snodgrass has had talks with Fulham Bruce = MLS; Yet we have cash beyond compare... well... 4.3 million for signings, as a one off exception that can be written down for tax purposes. Any transfer fee we get adds to that pot.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

19 May 2012 00:33:03
McCormack clearly doesnt have much ambition. why he would he want to leave a club that has a chance of promotion, after a great season in front of goal? Unless a premiership club has chucked in a sneaky offer? If hes not commited to the cause, get rid!

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Don't get sucked in. Bottom line is players can earn more elsewhere, and Bates has his head up his $%^&.

The guy is so frustrating - same was said about a number of so called 'greedy' players and it's been proven that by getting rid we take a huge step backwards. Funny how Norwich & Southampton, didn't have these problems when heading up from League 1 and pushing on. I truly believe that our Promotion winning team was streets ahead of what we've got now. Bates is a greedy muppet, and we shouldn't turn on players on his and puppet Harvey's say so of what's gone on...

Agree5 Disagree4

He has lots of ambition he wants to play in the prem and can do that now, he does not want to waste another season at Leeds paying rubbish wages and signing crap players and finishing mid table. Warlock can only do so much, when any player can get 5 to 15 k a week elsewhere they will not sign

Agree1 Disagree2

18 May 2012 23:53:43
I see Burnley have let Brian Easton go a defender wot position ed ? Also Donny have let Giles Barnes nd Simon gillet go wouldn't they be worth a punt to for are lacking of players in midfield. Think there might be a few good freebies floating around this year. What do you think ed?
Tim {Ed013's Note - CB and I think can play left back, but I dont rate him either way. Giles Barnes was a good prospect, but too injury prone and therefore I think will stay around smaller clubs. Simon Gillett to me is a lower league player, although may be hungry for the shirt and could do well, but I doubt he is what NW is looking for}
