Just woke up in Australia and first thing as usual I went to NN. All I could think when I seen this new piece of news was FFS what is happening to our club. Steve F, n Evens you got to be kidding. Seriously, apart from the Hock I have given every manager a chance to prove himself without complaint, but honestly. and then I read the second piece of news. what a joke. The spell on Elland road has dug deep this time. I was going to add that we have come back from worse situations. but I think this is the lowest point that I can recall out of my 50 years of supporting our Great Club. Good luck guys. we are going to need it.

MOT Through good and bad.

When? Gary Mac losing to nonleague opposition? Pre the Don? Don't think anything is as embarrassing as this. Did you read who the person was who announced Evans to players? It was Rosler!

"Leeds are not a big club. Don't get me wrong, they used to be, but now the are just a circus. Run by puppets, watched by blinkered seals. If they offered me a job I'd turn it down. I want to be the Captain of a cruiseliner not the Titanic" - Steve Evans.

19 Oct 2015 20:17:36
JFH, Nigel Pearson, Poyet or any other manager worth his salt will not even contemplate coming to Leeds with MC the owner. And anyone even thinking about Rodgers needs their head tested. We will never know for sure but Uwe could of been the man for LUFC and took us forward. It is early early days and results can soon change in this league. Eleven games is not enough to be judged on. Unless you work for an egotistical, mad as a march hare, despicable man. Just read an article about Lee Harvey Oswald. Got me thinking!

Give Evans a chance. Roster was like Milanic, depressive. This team is full of kids it needs a loving hand and encouragement. I'm going against everybody, this guy will succeed. He's got something that works. Rotherham 2 Leeds 1. Did you see it. What a transformation at half time.

Cellino just bought him a cherrypicker so he can get up n down thorp arch. Apparently Mowatt is the machine operator.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Oct 2015 19:54:24
It appears that appointing managers/coaches is a learning curve MC cannot quite get to the top of. This is a panic appointment and with MC now banned when SE makes a complete pigs ear of everything (please prove me wrong SE on this one) there will be no-one able or willing to make the change. Needed Poyet or JFH at this point. Also feel that slightly unfair on the back of yesterday to make the decision. I would have given your at least 2 more games to turn it around, we were very unlucky yesterday with what happened to LC, completely out of URs control and against the leaders.
I now fear a relegation battle, playing assets putting in t'fer requests en masse, all replaced by usual mixture of 'seasoned pros' from lg1 and 'ones for the future'.

Anyone who can offer some light at the end of the tunell please feel free.

19 Oct 2015 19:21:27
Not sad to see the back of Rosler. He promised heavy metal football with a 4-3-3 system but in reality re-package Redfearn's 4-5-1 at a slow pace with arguably a better squad. 12 games is never long enough however he was too stubborn to see the frailities of his system or the players within it. It shows how far we have sunk when coaches such as Evans get a position that in past decades was considered as a prestigous job in British football. On the bright side, we need a change, we need to be more aggressive, more attacking, players who are guaranteed a starting place no matter how they play need to be challenged. Steve Evans could provide this and therefore deserves our support.

"Beginning of the end game" anyone? Glad to see the FL, if no-one else, is attempting to put an end to this utter farce. Here's hoping Pearson (and others) are putting together a takeover. Question:- 1 Who has the authority to sack Evans at Christmas?
2. Who the authority to sell the Leeds youngsters in January?
2a. Will Evans be able to attract any of the Rotherham stars to get us out of this division?
3. Who has the authority to manage the finances?
4. Could it be that GFH have the opportunity of lining their pockets?

5. Will it be the Cellino family be in charge?
6. How many season tickets will be sold for the 2016/17 season?

7. How much is a Rhinos season ticket? Can I afford both and keep my sanity.

8. The squad at Elland Road is small and could get a lot smaller, if I bring my boots could I get a game or at least the coaching job? I've got a couple of months to spare around christmas.

Last one out turn out the lights.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well 1 - 7 I'll pass on
But 8 = probably.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Oct 2015 19:07:46
1. What makes you think Evans will last till the end of October (let alone Christmas)?

2. Whoever Cellino is hiding behind now he's banned.

2a. We have enough decent players we just need someone that knows how to put a team on the pitch who want to win/play?

3. You know the answer to that one.

4. GFH couldn't manage a piss-up in a beer vat, let alone a brewery.

5. Silly question, Cellino owns the club whether or not he's allowed to run it?

6. Don't you think we need to worry about finishing this season as a club first?

7. Didn't know Leeds had a zoo? (just kidding but would probably more entertaining if they did? )

8. I thought Boots was a chemist, do you own them too?

Don't think you need worry about the lights.

It's all doom and gloom Mr Mannering.

I think it really is time the league took a stance on this one, but we all now they aren't ever going to o anything to help Leeds other than turn up with a hammer and nails for the coffin.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Oct 2015 18:00:24
After MCs appointment of Evans he's asked Barry Chuckle to run the club in his absence.

As a life long fan is it me or are we just destined for mediocrity from now on? A huge club, a one team city and we can't attract better than Steve Evans?

I am afraid with this muppet Cellino in charge its all downhill! I know things weren't good with Uwe Rosler but he had to be given time to make an improvement. My fear is that our young stars will want away from this mayhem?

We needed a coach of stature and experience not a podgy muppet who looks like he couldn't train a dog let alone professonal footballers.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Oct 2015 17:21:49
Well another one bites the dust. Evans won back to back promotions with Rotherham and I thought he was a good match with a small club. There was no pressure there and I don't think he realises the pressure he will come under with us. He said last year he could never work under MC as he coundn't work if he had players forced upon him and having the team picked for him. As MC is now banned he may not have to. Mario Balotelli "Don't think you have it that bad son" WHY ALWAYS US.

Forget Lewis Cook. I want Roger Cook to come out of retirement and stick a mic into Cellino's face with full press coverage. There has to be a conspiracy somewhere. If not, it takes some doing to make GFH the 2nd worse owners ever.

How we have fallen? Our enemies now feel pity for us and when we play Emley in the FA cup third round should we win it'll be regarded as a giant killing.

At least we know who our manager will be for the next 7 games. Judging by his size and face I don't see any of the players getting fitter. That does not appear Evans first concern. We'd have a better chance appointing Chris Evans.

Who will our manager be on Xmas Day?

Actually who will our owner be Xmas Day?

If laughter is a cure for all illnesses and problems Shaun Harvey has laughed so hard he now has a full set of hair and a brimming sock drawer, Papa Smurf just took 20 years off his real age and Thommo and Redfearn are being lined up to replace Hodgson.

19 Oct 2015 16:52:21
I don't know much about Evans only that he had two successive promotions with Rotherham and forgot to fill in his tax returns.
Not the worst CV around and probably the best we can get with MC steering the ship.
One question though. How was he appointed so quickly? Cellino is more ruthless than piranha after a crash diet.
Some people on here have wanted Rosler out for some time now, even though he has just taken over. As my mum always said "be careful what you wish for". These anti Rosler people I am sure are delighted today. Or maybe not? Maybe they thought MC was going to bring in a top manager after sacking Uwe and Leeds United would climb the table instantly and be ready for Premier League football next season. Or maybe not!

Let me tell you something speedyg.

I was on the fringes of heavyweight discussions between FL and Leeds after St Andrews in mid 80s. If it wasn't for the Bradford fire on same day we would've been kicked out. We were issued a most stern warning after Bournemouth in 1990. Don't be so sure this situation won't escalate as I've suggested. Do y.

Look let's lift up our heads and be positive . Roslers ' country music' football wasn't good enough . He didn't deliver and had to go. At least with Evans you'll get pressing the ball high, attacking, passionate football. He got Rotherham successive promotions then kept them in the championship, this is in itself success in my opinion. He is a man opposition fans hate and might just give us a bit of what we need. At least we will get the ' heavy rock' football now . With Rosler we'd have gone down with a whimper . This guy in my opinion won't stand for it and he can't be any worse than what we've been used to in recent years.

Get strapped in for a relegation battle lads n lasses. Rodney Cellino and Dell Boy Evans (no income tax no VAT) might be the perfect fit down at Peckham Market but those plonkers will struggle to keep us up this year.

{Ed001's Note - that made me giggle. It is nice for those of us who are not Leeds fans to be fair, as we are getting so much hilarity about Tax Evaders United now. Though, underneath it all, most of us do feel sympathy for you, hopefully Cellino will have an epiphany and see sense before it stops being funny. Only this could all end up in a really nasty situation with a *censored* like Evans in charge.}

19 Oct 2015 16:35:00
Well M Mick like you wasn't happy that "big steve" was coming in, seemed too quick, knee jerk reaction, backward step etc etc (not that planning matters to Mad Massimo as he clearly lives in a different world to the rest of us) , but my points are these.

1) You are unlikely to be successful if you keep changing so much, history proves this, no argument here so what is MC actually trying to do with a club he is investing money in? I know this won't go down well but read the Alex Ferguson book on leading and Man utd went over 6 months without winning a home game under him before they started winning stuff so there is a point in there you would think (had to read book as a bet but in many ways not really about Man U, about building a successful team/leadership) . If he believed in UWE should have stuck for longer, what does our mad leader believe in? I have no idea.

2) 0Steve has managed to win promotion 2011/12, 12/13 and 13/14 and kept small town Rotherham up, so his record in and around these levels are and I am amazed myself at this, pretty good. True has not got promoted out of championship but at the moment I would take top 10 anyway.

3) He is Scottish (better than a German at this level) and seems to be able to get most out of what he has, if he can do that with our half decent squad then we have no reason to fear relegation. It seems to me maybe we were over thinking things, being too technical under Uwe and we clearly lack confidence/belief as at Elland road it is becoming groundhog day and you need a motivator, someone with character to get you out of that.

I do find it all bit sad mind and it is groundhog day for all our fans but as I expect little from "big steve" maybe he won't let me down.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Oct 2015 15:14:32
The Football League must be pissing themselves as they need not try and destroy us as MC is quite capable of doing it for them ( conspiracy theorist form an orderly queue)
We have no chance of premiership football whilst MC is in control and it is him we should be directing our ire against. Evans is just another puppet who is as deluded as the rest of them if he thinks he is going to be "the one" who turns us into a footballing force. MC is the main man, not the players, not the manager and not us the fans it is all about him.
Our only hope for salvation rests with the Italian legal system, so in other words were F. d.

Well. A Pope suggesting there has been for some time major unrest in the dressing room. No surprise. Clearly going back to the 'injured 6' and earlier.
This may have contributed to some of the strange decisions re selections etc, and the poor form/lack of interest of others. We will never know of course. But no manager is going to turn things round unless he can sort that out to start with.
Can't stand Steve Evans personally. But this isn't a popularity contest, and maybe if nothing else, he can get that sorted.
But I'm afraid my best hope now is that we stay up, and can start afresh next season, with a proven manager and what will probably need to be a new squad, because I can't see many of the youngsters wanting to stay.

The peak of Evans career is getting sacked by Rotherham surely we should just have asked Hockaday to come back. Just another example of;
Is he cheap?

Cellino, Cellino walk away, leave your money but walk away. At least let a calm clear football brain make decisions. Stop this snakes and ladders approach. We are back to where we were when you started with lots of false dawns. We deserve better. The players deserve better.
For all that is written the one word that all agree on is continuity which is based on making the right decision in the first place. After reading Evans biog It looks like you have hired your clone with his fiery mouth and dodgy dealings the words "kindred" and "spirit" spring to mind. After so many "mistakes" in the manager decisions surely its time to question the man making the appointments. Cellino is the one common denominator in all these debacles.

You're spot on Lucas. I don't think any manager with an ounce of self belief would go anywhere near us with Cellino in charge. Why would the likes of Gus or Jimmy come to us, get told who to play and when it all goes tits up, get the sack and a big blot on their managerial cv.

As you say, no doubt Billy Bulls**t Survivor knows what's going on and Cellino has probably told him to draw up a short list of managers, whilst the two of them are cruising around the Med on the good ship Tax Evade.

Nigel Pearson would have been worth a try, but I doubt he would have worked for MC.

It's bad when other supporters begin to have empathy with us. We have gone from being a laughing stock to a club being showed pity.
I am not sure which is worse?

Roll up roll up - The worlds greatest circus has just arrived back in town.

See the Italian Juggler dodging the taxman while keeping up 2 yachts and a land rover. Watch the new magician (clown) as he tries to make a silk purse out of a sows ear and rescue a sinking ship. Watch the incredible Bellendi as he leaps through the air with his feet removing heads and limbs as he goes, and the unbelievable Sylvestri as he demonstrates punching skills with a ball that will leave you speechless.

Roll up roll up - you must catch the circus before it leaves town as no tickets will be available to you for any other venue - roll up roll up.

Enjoy the greatest circus in this solar system right here, right now.

Couldn't agree more Dino, Cellino is making us the laughing stock of the football world. He needs to go now, everything is done on the cheap and he is treating us loyal fans like mugs. Celino out now.

I've been a strong advocate of Cellino in the past, but he's is starting to p me off now. That said, we're only ever going to attract "Below Average" managers. If you were a top flight manager, would you want to work with Cellino?
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear!

Steve Evans! What ever happens, it will only be a temporary position.

If he is appointed full time, there will be Civil Unrest and Rioting that will make Paris 1975 look like a Garden Party.

Worrying rumour though, Steve Evans to manage us until end of the season!

OMG Steve Evans getting the manager's position! This must be a joke. He's no better than The Hock. He's a dinosaur of a football manager and was booted out of Boston United for tax/fraud although this might please Cellino.

It only seems a few short weeks that we were looking like a well run football club, attracting good sponsorship deals, back room staff and making shrewd player signings.

Now, the Chairman has woken from his hibernation (since AP jacked) and has started ranting and raving and we look clueless again. All the good work has been completely undone, God only knows what the players think. Bye bye Sam, cheers Cooky and close the door on your way out Charlie.

Come back Adam Pearson!

That's another out the way, club record broke on Sat for no home wins, now we are trying to be the team to have the most managers within a decade, apparently Evans is the man, at least the pie suppliers will be happy, he can make up for the diminishing crowds.

I was pretty upset when we brought Rosler in, I called him mediocre and clubs he left got better. People tried to convince me that he built the foundations but wasnt given the time to see it through so I was happy to give him a go, even though he wasnt my first choice. Since then people have looked for faults with players, the owner and the formation to try explain it but I'm afraid we have a tactically inept, uninspiring man at the helm that doesn't know his own players strengths and weaknesses, hell he doesn't even seem to know when a player isn't fit.
So the run down goes something like this, firstly Wood, have seen him get a lot of stick recently. Before he came to leeds I could have told you that he wants the ball to feet outside the area (Lampard sort of area) so he can put the laces through it, he doesn't want it in the air, he doesn't want it to run on to. If I know that then surely the scouts and coaches do so why are we playing it in front of him or head height?
Next the wingers - Dallas and Botaka can't cross, they both like to cut in and shoot but instead Rosler is asking them to play to their weaknesses and as for Buckley (who was, and could be again, a talent at this level) why start him when he clearly isn't even close to fit?
On top of that Mowatt needs to be dropped, something is wrong be it a lack of inspiration, confidence or an injury he doesn't want to let on about, either way a few weeks out are needed. Wootton in instead of Byram is questionable at best and if Silvestri can't command his area get your center backs to cover or swap him out (maybe a little late for this one), its not rocket science.
We have the squad, we have the formation, the first couple of games showed how competitive we could be against the leagues top teams. If he can't see the problems anyone else can though we definitely have the wrong manager. I'm not one for constant knee jerk change but Rosler needs to go now if we want to try salvage anything from this season.

Really good post except for bit about formation. You are spot on with Wood. I said same thing start of season. He will bang in 15 goals but most of them will be solo wonder goals making him better than what he appears. Not a bad player to have in squad but to not start with Antenucci is a crime. McDaid and Dawson have to come into things now. Can see Rosler being sacked by Halloween.

Agree regarding McDaid and Dawson. Phillips and Coyle too but moreover, Murphy's experience is needed to steady the ship.
