Just watched Stevens interview. Honestly unless we spend a huge amount and get a prem manager in, I think we have made a mistake. What a nice, honest and truthful bloke.
Wasn't his biggest fan initially, but he won me over. Wish him well and hope he doesn't come back and bite us!

Gary monk?!
Young and English, great but what did he do with swans?
Nothing!
Battling mid table prem mediocrity is one thing but champ promo?
Come on!

So SLWIN which premiere league winning boss would you like at Leeds? Get real we are a mid table championship club, Mourinho has a job .

Monk got Swansea to finish 8th and beat both man Utd and Arsenal home and away. He achieved something.

Evans interview on ssn was interesting saying he delivered everything he was asked to do. Let's hope Cellino sticks to his promise that we will have a team that can challenge for promotion this year. Some how I can't seeing him sticking to it.

Heard that the Barnsley #2 in the frame to become our assistant. if that's the case then might as well go for their whole management team.

Garry Monk? Not my 1st choice would rather have someone with championship experience than a manager from the top flight with a 32% win rate.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

01 Jun 2016 19:14:04
it's actually 35.8% including his last 11 games which saw only 1 win from them, and not bad compared to other Leeds managers.

goo.gl/RFLcwL

only the Don over 50% with O'Leary at almost 50.

Please please mr Cellino, if you are talking to Monk about the job, then offer the guy
Decent wage package
Control of football affairs
Decent funds for some better players
This could be your last chance to do what's right for Leeds.
Gary Monk may not be everyone's choice. But at least he would bring a little bit of respect back to our name.
Good young manager with potential I think.
Better than some of the recent names linked imo
But having said that Cellino will prob f it all up.

Probably the same method that MC uses to choose the next manager/ coach. See which name he can make first then that's his guy.

I think Monks name was mentioned for some of the top Prem jobs, when vacancies arose while he was doing well with the Swans. I believe it would be a good appointment . He is a centre back so should sort out the defence, was with Swansea all up the leagues, they played some very nice football and he captained the side to promotion so should know what its all about. If he takes the job would imagine Cellino has given him some real financial guarantees, so would expect investment and player recruitment to follow.

If it is to be the Monk man then I would say the following, would be interesting to hear what everyone else thinks.

first question - Is monk better than all the others MC has hired, i. e. do we feel more positive about him than when we hired the others?

Plus points - knowledge of higher football leagues in UK, should be able to handle "stars", modern methods in terms of training/ tactics, should have PL connections, seems bright type, media seem to like him.

minus points - limited management exp, poor win rate, not managed in championship, Swans got better when he left.

I will support any Leeds manager when they first come in, MC could hire worst if you look at names that have been in frame but also could have done better, so I am sort of half n half on this.

Either way he will need good funds to get team anywhere near top 6.

Have to agree and lots on here wanted a manager with premiership experience and his win rate is not bad considering it was with Swansea in the premier league.

I would be happy with Monk. Not managed in the Championship but has played in it and therefore understands the rigours. Win rate not brilliant but his games were in the PL. Young manager who is known to work 24/ 7 and had Swansea playing a good brand of football (however not necessarily winning) . Mixing with PL managers gives him valuable contacts to sign/ loan players. Could be seen as a gamblers appointment but a calculated one and a step up from those he has previously persued.

Not sure. He took a team of players he was familiar with and made them successful in a club that was stable with infrastructure in place. When he had to move that team on and regenerate it he was not so successful. I am not sure how much support he will get from MC and he needs to develop from scratch with no real scouting structure or experienced staff in the picture and no plan evident for next week never mind next season. Can he bring anyone with him to support him in moving forward? I think it is a gamble for him but I hope he can do it! I do think that he's a better bet than some names I have seen banded about.

Wex

I loved Revie

I am notoriously difficult to please. No mediocrity for me.

Monk would still be a step up. I'm more interested in size of transfer kitty. Currently I have us requiring 10 players should Bellusci and Peacock-Farrell depart.
