Looking back and I am only asking was Byram a big loss.

01 May 2016 21:25:48
Yes mate. Top player.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 May 2016 21:46:23
a loss yes, fine player but not a player you build a team around, SB did his time for us but he needed a new challenge, we are covered in FB areas so for me Taylor/ Berardi just as good if not a touch better in defending.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 May 2016 16:17:43
to me he only seemed to want it when he wanted it (his goals mostly come when in the trasfer window which says a lot) good player but not great and I don't think he was proper leeds or a proper team player. of all the people to leave leeds I am not sure he has left the biggest hole.

Have to be optimistic about next season like him or not Cellino has brought in players and expect him to see are not far away from playoff places .

Believable1 Unbelievable1

01 May 2016 21:48:43
I would say Wex that to offer the deal he has on season tickets (son and I have taken up that deal as well for the first time ST holders) , then he would be mad not to invest a reasonable amount/ quality to squad as it would make no sense from every angle, financial/ ego etc so here hoping mate.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 May 2016 13:02:23
We'll after see what he does after the 31 May when he's got everybody's season ticket money, the S/ T offer doesn't guarantee he's going to spend 15-20m on the calibre of players we need to make a push, it will be interesting to know who will be coach come summer will he be British or Foreign?, if it's one of his Italian mates he may back him more. let's hope for a good summer on and off the pitch at ER and come August there's over 30,000 inside ER knowing we have a real chance.

Just think if I were an Editor of a sleazy newspaper or even a respectable broadsheet and had Fanni scored the winning goal yesterday I would have sacked on the spot my reporting journo if he failed to submit the headline

FANNI DOWNS WHITES.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

01 May 2016 19:40:43
apposite also that he plays in a team who's defence has been penetrated more times than most this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 May 2016 20:19:15
Before kick off and during the team talk, Evans told them to keep a hold of Fanni and for the back four to keep it tight in the box.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 May 2016 20:44:41
Fanni certainly made the game end to end stuff. That was always the danger for Leeds as Fanni showed a willingness to constantly get on the end of things especially a good through ball.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 May 2016 20:55:26
Wood giving fanni something to think about in the box.

01 May 2016 20:58:01
A slippery customer who can trap a ball like a bag of cement and can fake a dribble before coming good in the end.

Also known for putting a shift for the full ninety minutes, especially so when changing ends at half time.

01 May 2016 22:04:52
I like fanni.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 May 2016 22:54:45
Fanni is extremely disappointed that Doncaster Rovers will be relegated and therefore will not get to grips with Craig Alcock,

but is hopeful (as we are) that Millwall will fail to get promotion out of League One. Sean Cummings and Mark Beevers will give Fanni a hard time.

You are the winner.

It's interesting to note an Anil Koc was on loan at Charlton a couple of years ago but never played for the first team. What a pair they might have made. Maybe the Ad-dicks have a thing for rude names.

Can somebody help me. I cannot decide whether we are a good team that has off days or a bad team that gets lucky.
Of course we could be a very average team that flatter to deceive unfortunately that theory seems to be supported up by the league table. Still there's always next year (how long have I been saying that? ) .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

01 May 2016 18:52:06
Our team as a whole we are average.

Our defense is far from shambolic but not as good as average. Just below average I'd say.

Our midfield is good (especially when Murphy does not play and Dave does)

Our strikeforce is in my opinion only fractionally better than shambolic. Closer to shambolic than below par.

The combined sum of these parts makes us a real average joe team. Twelfth is where we should be. Nothing 3 decent central defenders and 3 good strikers can't fix.

01 May 2016 19:39:22
Bit harsh on murphy I believe George.
He reminds me of Carrick, a player who could and should be a whole lot better. They have lots of ability but not the mind set to be the player their talent should make them. If Murphy had the mind of say Roy Keane he would be a top championship player and even higher. Just to add I don't like Keane but he showed how far you can go with a certain level of ability. I agree on the rest of your post though. Badly need CBs and a striker or two although I wouldn't write Wood off as yet. Ok he misses a few but last few games he has looked a handful. Alround play has been good and scored a few as well. Maybe next season he can stay injury free and who knows?

Agree1 Disagree0

01 May 2016 20:05:03
I agree Cork. Like Notts said, Murphy is a retreator not a creator or a supporter of attacking play. No good when already have 2 playing DM role. GIW verdict. Sell.

Did anyone see that pic which was leaked online of a Leeds fan squaring up to Bellendusci during end of season awards dinner?

Does anyone on here know him? Is it Cork? Cork's scouser friend? They said they were going to attend.

Yep it was me George.
Ok it wasn't. Glad to know that you remember my old posts though mate.
I feel quite honoured that one of our senior posters can recollect an ole post of mine. And no I didn't go as nobody replied to my question as far as I can remember and I didn't fancy turning up on my jack jones as my maf scoucer mate changed his mind when sober!

Don't mind the confrontation bit but a little bit miffed with the need to post it online. If your a fan of Leeds it just gives the media another chance to make a headline out of nowt.

sad to say it was not me but if I ever did meet him he would get a mouth full, sadly because of my accent I don't think he would understand too much. I don't like to see leeds fans not supporting leeds but I do think bellendschi needs a bit of a mouthful or a right hand.

In spite of Saturdays disappointment I still think Big Steve should be given a chance next year (with full financial support) . The job is now relatively easy. There are no big decisions to be made. We have made them all for him, countless times on this forum. He just needs to read and learn.
As a generous gesture we will even tell him which new players to buy.
So Steve/ Massimo the balls in your court just drop us a line, follow our advice and your problems are solved, just don't ask for any money.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

01 May 2016 18:04:55
Most on here wanting Evans to stay. I hope he doesn't.
I'm not sure he gets the best out of our creative players.
Mowatt seems a shadow of what he was last season and even though Cook has won awards, I think he has also gone backwards this season. Sorry I can't think of any of our other creative players.
I'm actually glad there's always something to talk about off the pitch, because I think on the pitch it has been one of dullest ever.
Roll next season, whatever that may bring!

Anyone else wondering what a strike force of Wood and McCormack would of been like this season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

01 May 2016 14:11:07
think they would be tasty however I still think ant and wood would be great if played together and not in a 4-1-2-3-1-2-34-2-1-34 formation or whatever it is SE likes. Call me old fashioned by I like a good 4-4-2 with a strong centre half and flying wingers. I mean name me one successful team this year this doesn't play 4-4-2.

At the end of another disappointing season it's clear to all that changes are needed. I'd start by releasing Sloth, Bianchi, Belluschi, Botaki, Wootton and Doukara. Bring in a CB, quick striker and an 'old head'. Wheater and Clough from Bolton and the young lad from Charlton who scored might be realistic. Sign Bridcutt and possibly Caryol. In addition reward Taylor, Cook and Mowatt and tie them down to long contracts. Finally, give Evans a go at the job long term and as fans stop living in the past, get behind the team, enjoy the adventure and leave the business side to those who understand it. WE are Leeds!

Believable3 Unbelievable0

01 May 2016 13:21:04
Why botaka, he has shown he is fully capable and is good for us as releasing him will only make our winger situation worse

And with Bianchi I think we wait to see if the club he was loaned to want to buy him.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 May 2016 13:52:04
We need to spend big on the spine of the team get that right and we'll have a chance a keeper who can command his area two demanding centre backs an attacking ball playing midfielder and a top striker, whether that happens and who will be coach for pre-season only Cellino knows.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 May 2016 16:15:14
Why release? Would surely get money for most.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 May 2016 19:14:25
Worth trying to get money but I'm not sure too many woul be interested in buying any of them!

Agree0 Disagree0

02 May 2016 19:18:02
Think Botaki might be a bit like Marmite. You either love him and his tricks and flicks or hate him for not having enough impact on the game. I'm the latter I'm afraid. Looked clueless on Sat and if we intend playing with full backs who like to go forward then he has to be able and prepared to defend as well. Stood watching most of the game v Charlton.

01 May 2016 11:52:06
Just wondering if anyone had seen Wood's conversion rate for this season.
I'm guessing its so low nobody has actually come up with a formula capable of working it out!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

01 May 2016 10:06:19
Too many players not "on it" yesterday, maybe because the match was a Dear rubber. Plenty of possession in first half but again we lacked quality in the final third, a Foresteri type player would make a massive difference. The midfield was pretty ineffective today with Cook, Bridcutt, Dallas guilty of giving possession away regularly. Botaka showed flashes of genuine quality and although Murphy was steady I just don't understand his role in the team. Coyle had a decent game, prepared to get forward and comfortable with the ball. Central defence again looked weak and missed Dave playing in front of them. Their first goal, could the cross have been stopped? Could Silvestre cut out the ball before it fell the their player? The second goal, no-one took responsibility and allowed Lookman (a player who will be in demand in the summer) to pick his spot. After the changes Leeds again dominated and could have easily equalised. Wood hit the bar with a header that was directed but not controller (looping instead of powered) . Antennuci continues to frustrate as he opted to shoot instead of rolling the ball to Wood for a tap in.

the most entertaining fact about yesterdays game was a that charlton had a player called fanni!

Agree1 Disagree0

01 May 2016 11:36:20
this is my problem with steve evans, sounds like he is still making same mistakes, murphy is a decent football but has no role in the team and does/ offers very little at best. his formation/ selection offers plenty of possesion but does little with it. glad he played botkata and colye but wished he would give 4-4-2 a go our players are best suited to that. cook bridcut with botkata dallas in middle with wood and ant up front has to be worth a shot again if it don't work move on, but I just think it would be better.

SE does not know how to win a game when he has the bigger better team, we have seen this too much this season, good when under dog and stealing points but he seems unable to win them. if we want to go up we will need to be the better team more often than not, can SE cope with a team who wants to/ should be looking to go up?

Agree2 Disagree0

01 May 2016 11:37:30
Really hope we can move Murphy on, he isn't getting any better and should be used sparsely if at all. We had enough chances to possibly win the game, but realistically we are very average. Wish we had got Forriestti he has carried Wendy into the play offs. Definitely another Cellino mistake. Proc I saw that too and would have posted but didn't want to encourage George to post one of his sick posts.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 May 2016 11:47:02
Very true Deda about Murphy, he can be a competent passer of the ball but his natural reaction after passing the ball is to retreat back to a DM position. As part of a 4 man midfield we need Murphy to support the attack as Dave/ Bridcutt play the DM role.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 May 2016 13:32:43
Deda and Proc
Fanni was good defending her box, coming out of her area and wasn't afraid to stroke a long ball.

new zealand annouced wood is such a good footballer they had to look in to his family tree as they couldn't believe he was from such a backwards footballing nation. It turned out wood is part brazilian and is a distant relavitve of pele and part greek as it is said he is the love child of zues himself.

i am poking fun at him but I really do believe in him.
