3 points is 3 points and clearly room for improvement, I just wanted to raise a point that is really bugging me and want to know if anyone agrees? I'm 100% behind McDermott and think he's a quality manager and the man for the job but really gets on my nerves when interviewed he always reverts back to being at reading "when I was at reading we did this" when I was at reading we went on this run" this is in almost every interview and it's winding me up, your the leeds manager so talk about leeds not your reading past. Does anyone else agree? Jim_lufc

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He doesn't always do that. But I have noticed. He's just basing his opinion on his own personal experience, seeing as he's only ever managed one team. Reading that makes sense. Brian Mc is easily the best manager we have had since we were relegated from the Prem League, so he can speak about Reading till the cows come home for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

As I said in my post he's a quality manager and the man for the job. And yes I understand what your saying but he still talks about reading far too much, couldn't cgare less if he's managed 1 clubs or 12 clubs there's no need to constantly talk about his reading past. Can have his opinion on things without continuously mentioning reading. Just my opinion

Right! YES I`m having a rant.
Can`t even score from 12 yds. Pathetic, and before any smart arse starts going on about pressure or good goalkeeping. A professional getting paid 10k + per week should score every time. How many did Letissier miss?
If I went to work and hung a new front door on your house, but it didn't shut properly and the lock didn't work, would you pay me 2 grand and say
"ooooh what a good effort, that was inches away"
Obviously NO.
Ross gesturing to us at Reading to raise the volume, well thousands of us are doing our part and spending hard earned dosh doing proper jobs and these numpties can't bloody score a penalty. Even if we go on to win tonight I`m f. ing fed up with this club acting and playing small time.
Reading fans taking the piss saying they're bigger than us and that I`ll probably never see Leeds play in the premiership again in my lifetime(I`m 46) I`m Dying here and so is this club. Does anyone in charge realize the pain and misery we go through every weekend when the best we can look forward too is the loosing.
I`ve never been this p. ed off
Going to bed with " were not ever going to be famous" in my head.

I couldn't agree more it just got worse bournemouth have just made it 1-1 I am dreading the game on saturday I think they will get hammered

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with you I'm 15 years old and I've been following the club since I was 9 I've never seen leeds in the premier league and I get leeds jersey every year but now I don't even want this years one I'm pissed off with the same thing year in year out teams buying players and getting good loanies and were watching them and all you get is I hope we make the playoffs because that's all it is really hope I wish we could say I think we have a good chance of winning the championchip this year and its our luck that someone from the Middle East buys us that has no money to invest in the squad or they won't spend its easy known ken bates got on well with them athleast I have my life ahead of me to see the next generation of leeds player and who knows we might get to the premier league in 10-15 years time the way we are going.

Agree0 Disagree0

Even the best miss penalties, and we all know how hard it can be to beat 10 men, its early days yet, if Mac can get the players he needs in I still think we can have a good season, no need for all this woe is me sh-te, we could be a lot worse off, just think of Warnock and Bates, keep the faith.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you charge 2 grand to hang a door? That's a bit steep. is that supply and fit or just fit? I think I will wait a while before I get my new one.

Agree0 Disagree0

How many did lescister miss. who cares go support them if u rate them so highly or ask urself what exactly they've achieved over the past few years apart from waste money, the penalty was saved big deal he guess the right way and got it I could understand if ross had missed

I think we should keep mcdermot but a few post sayin he should be sacked, I don't blame them his record is worse than warnocks and he had a million pound and he spent it on 1 player when we was clearly lacking in more thn that one position. I do however rate hunts workrate and have no quarms about him been in the team, just wish it was morrison/sharpe £850,000 as to spendin 1mil on murphy

NW & Papa Smurf have put us in position . GFH will not be savers . I real feel sorry for BM, I hope he stays . GFH what happened to your promise of backing the manger . We are all sick of the spin and very weak promises . DHL

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Must have been Bates that promised us the money then, still going on about him while he's got absolutly nutin to do with us move on

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Oct 2013 16:03:41
I'm am getting sick of the spin and smoak screens coming out of ER . let's face it GFH have no money, they spoke to us about transparency . The truth is they are struggling to find investment . There are no new players coming in . I think we are good enought for mid to low table slot . End of season we can start offloading NW players . Without investment we are at least 3 years away from making a challenge. The downside to the lack of GFH investment will be lower gates at ER, it's going to be a long season so let's all stop moaaning and just accept things, he'll at least the Chelsea B------ has gone, DHL

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think they are struggling to find the "right" investement. "Right" for them selves, where they can make the most money out of. i.e sponsorship, naming rights etc.

Everyone knows potential the club has and its size (in terms of standing in English football and how well we are known) and I believe people would be willing to invest. Just GFH are screen all possibilities for ones that make financial sense for themselves and not allowing proper investors in.

I don't care who scores the goals today, I just want more than them and more than 1.

We have had a load of tough games, Reading, Burnley and QPR and its now our time to put the run together. The next 6 are all winable, I would like to say 13 points from the, would be good.

I am not making excuses about the last 4 games, just want us to really put the graft in and grind out the results we need.

I am a tad disappointed that we haven't been able to bring a player in by now, I think BMD is setting his sights a little too high, Gnarby a long shot (and Arsenal are short on strikers/ wingers) and Becchio is one of 3 strikers at Norwich (i think).

McDermott to be sacked if Leeds fail to beat Bournemouth.

Following a dismal run of form ( 4 defeats in 5 with only 2 goals scored ), Leeds find themselves looking at a relegation battle rather than a play-off push.

The board will take swift action to rectify things should Leeds fail to win tonight.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Don't be so ridiculous. It's about time persons like you stopped perpetrating such negative nonsense. How about getting behind the team? How about supporting Brian and what he's trying to do with very little, if any, funds? He's the best thing that's happened to this club for more than a decade. If you can't see that, then it would be better for all concerned if you quietly slid away back to wherever you came from. GFH haven't got any money because Bates mortgaged everything, including this year's season ticket sales, but they're doing their damnedest to support Brian. Maybe you should do the same? If you think we're looking at a relegation battle now, consider where we might be with any other manager in charge. We'd be bottom because our squad isn't good enough, and our squad isn't good enough because Brian can't find a single taker for any of the dross that Warnock left us on long contracts and big wages. Support what we've got, support Brian. Given time, he'll turn it around. No one else will.

Agree0 Disagree0

This would be a disgrace but would not suprise me as it fits in with the GFH PR spin of hiding the fact that no serious investment has been made in the team by blaming the manager for the results and how he has used the resource. Mr Noodles has already alluded to this line of thinking by stating that the squad we had should have been capable of beating Millwall.

Agree0 Disagree0

Original post what??? for sure and I want mcd here for years. aren't derby above us though. Shame for cloughy

Anybody to score in a white shirt, (no own goals allowed)

Agree0 Disagree0

Just shut up. McD is a great manager at this level, get off his back and back the team!

Agree0 Disagree0

GFH sack BMcD as you say original poster, then I'm finished with THEM.
BMcD is trying to do his best with the resources available, GFH need to look in the mirror and take responsibility as the owners.

Unfortunately for the fans, the manager and the players - our owners know nowt about football (which they did admit in the beginning) but it's time they start to listen to those within the club that do, simples!

I don't know about anyone else, but for me the problem at the moment is GFH's business models.

I am sure David Haigh has all the right intentions and indeed wants to do the best for us, however this is in direct conflict with GFH's whole reason for buying us - to make a profit.

Everyone knows the figures banded around for promotion, and if you want to know what this would mean to GFH's profit's take a look at their 2010/11 figures - more profit in 9 months than the last 10 years.

In terms of attracting potential investment, greed attracts greed. You don't think old 'salad noodles has invested money from IIB for the love of Leeds do you? - It's the thought of his share of that windfall - and every other potential investor will have the same agenda - GFH however, for their part will want to try and maximise their share by limiting the number of investors they bring on board.

GFH as an investment bank don't understand the concept of brand loyalty, long term investment and customer interaction. Their business dealings are more about flipping investments for instant gain, and bringing numerous investors on board to fund a new project and thus limiting their liability. In Leeds however, they have an established business, with a strong brand loyalty, and a potential of huge return on investment. But, and this is the issue, over time and ONLY with substantial investment.

I worry, not about the immediate future, but what happens when we get promoted - and the 100m is transferred into GFH's balance sheet never to be seen again.

I hope David Haigh is speaking the truth when he says he wants a LONGTERM, successful and sustainable future for us. And, we don't end up a cash-cow that GFH can milk to prop up their ailing balance sheet each year, whilst we see a string of cheap-fix signings, and under performing teams.

That said - I think I know the answer.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I am not too sure if GFH have a concise business model or if they do it stumble from decision to decision. First, they were a broker for the purchase of the club, when the purchaser pulled out they decided to purchase the club with a view to getting rid of Bates and flipping it to the original purchaser. They then got excited by the riches of the premier league but did not want or do not have the resources to fund a promotion push therefore they decided to find investors. However being aware that the more investors they obtained the more they share would be erroded they are being selective as to who they approach to invest (small percentage for maximum capital). Therefore we are in this situation where GFH do not have the financial clout to invest heavily in the team but they will not sell up because of the PL profit potential. All in all a pretty crappy strategy

Agree0 Disagree0

Right from the get-go GFH have said that this is a 2 to 3 year project. BMD has a 3 year contract, the signings he has made so far have 3 year contracts. Can I spell it out? TWO TO THREE YEARS not two to three months! Come on, see the positives and be patient.

Agree0 Disagree0

Been patient for 10 years now, so don't need to say things like that we have suffered enough over the years it's time the club started paying the fans back for all their loyalty

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree completely. we've been waiting so long.theres no patience left. we need backing. solid.no nonsense backing. if they don't back us. we'll just get worse. fans drop off. gates will drop. and we'll be back where we were . 1st division. sort it gfh

Agree0 Disagree0

Patience is earned through steady progression. At best we are stagnating

I don't know about anyone else but today's press conference worried me a little, Granby why mention it as the enquirey must have been made be4 Walcott got injured as there is no chance it could happen now. So why mention it? My answer is pressure trying to appease supporters. The chairmanship tweet I'm sure did not help. Again trying to appease the fans. things being said like we should be doing better with our squad should stay in house IMO. The making it know we went after Becchio again why, if they said no.yes maybe it would push Becchio into trying to push though the deal but his agent would have told him. So to me it's all media based keeping the fans nearly on side. But it also worries me why we are going for Becchio no wingers to supply him, to me he's not the Brian mcc type off striker pace works hard runs the channels.ie S Long Again seems to me that appeasing support, (bringing back the old hero)That's not a board and manager at one and pulling together. I hope I'm wrong because I rate Brian.and people say Hunt was a dire signing, but I think he should be given a chance as he will prove to be better than people think. Our best away results have come with Hunt in the side.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I could be wrong but I thought he had gone for Becchio and the young lad from Arsenal who incidentally is an attacking winger. I am just happy that we are trying to bring them in. Pretty annoyed at Houghton who has at least 3 strikers ahead of Becchio but he won't let him go. Next time he tries to sign one of our playersd we should tell him they are not available.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gnabry ( my spelling) in first post is the attacking winger, but watt I was saying was the inquiry must have been made be4 Walcott got injured, Gnabry has played from the start in last 2 prem games and scored. So there was not a cat in hell chance any manager would inquire this week, (pointless )so it must have been made and turned down same with Becchio why make it public. Unless he Brian is been put under pressure to appease the fans. IMO that's a bad sign. I hope not the manager needs time. And i'm saying I'm not sure Becchio was Brian's sort off player only in IMO though.its GFH trying to gain support (bring back the olde hero)

Agree0 Disagree0

1st and 3rd post. Get your drift and agreed. Concerned even inquired about beccio. Bacward step in my op

Agree0 Disagree0

I no mate bringing back Becchio would be short sighted. That is the one thing Brian said he wouldn't do sign players for the short term. Becchio would be hear 3 months max as we wouldn't pay the fee or his wages ( that's why he left) IMO it was the owners pushing for this loan to get a pat on the back. I would rather be Midd table and bring in loans for young players who can be made better, and we have a chance off signing them long term.
