A double dose of good news tonight, Man utd go out of that other cup and Bristol City get something to distract them from the Championship!

Angus Kinnear:
The ability of the squad to cope so admirably with a number of injuries and the undeniable quality that has been shown by players taking their chance in the first team, either for the first team or in a different role, means that our playing solutions for the rest of the season are more likely to come from inside than outside the existing squad. The January window will attract the usual media hysteria but it is notoriously difficult to navigate and secure both quality and value. If any business is done at Leeds United it will be focused, considered and founded on the meticulous analysis of Victor and his team. could this mean we won't be recruiting many (or any) during January?

Maybe. Alternatively, as someone who works in sending your opponents the info that you choose for them to receive, it may be a case of creating the impression that we are very relaxed about whether we recruit or not, thus leading sellers to perceive that we are not desperate to buy, which affects what price they are likely to expect to be able to extract from us. The message could mean two completely opposite outcomes are likely. Thus, he may be telling the truth to manage our expectations as they say, or he could be lying through his back teeth to outmaneuvre club's who we may negotiate purchases with. Impossible to be sure at this stage. If I was asked to guess, and it is purely a guess, I suspect that they have a couple of targets that they are keen on, but intend to appear "semi interested", in order to not get stiffed on the price. We will see in due course.

I'm guessing it's smoke and mirrors similar to the summer when most of our signings we didn't see coming. Deflectionary tactics my friend alf.

Think he right re buying the right players in January. we could explore the loan market from pl teams though. ings or ullua from Leicester would be great signings till the end of the season on loan. think striker should be out priority

Not football related. Bit. While its a bit quiet on here thought i'd brag. Just done spartan super couple weeks back. Nearly broke me. Quite distraught at the end of the 14km 28 obstacle course. You done one anybody? Could go on to say i finished 105th out of a 865 field in a time of 3 hours 5 min when some took 8 hours but that wouldn't be right thing to do, so i wont. But if anybody fancies being done in, do a spartan! Will post a pic of one of the smaller hills on the course. I kid you not!

Ive done tough mudder which sounds similar - 11 miles with obstacles including ice baths and electric shocks (and they don't half pack a punch) . was fairly flat course and not sure how many obstacles. don't think i did as well as you time or place wise so well in buddy - tremendous effort. They are tough but good fun if anyone fancies them and you don't have to run if you're not as fit as the Ausman - a lot of people were walking round. Pricey tho.

Yeah sounds like a tough mudder to me. Not done one Aus but is on my things to do for next year, when I start training again. Bad back at the mo and off for an MRI scan tomorrow. Fingers crossed. MM

Well done Aussie. I did the Total Warrior at Bramham Park in the summer. 12k of obstacles and a few inclines along with a few declines. Will be doing it again next year, middle aged dodgy knees allowing as it was great fun.

Mm. Ask your missus for a winch for crimbo rather than having to climb the tree outside in laws window. Well done alf and lucas. They are addictive i reckon. i'm still wearing the finisher tshirt everytime i go out. i'm 56 and will keep doing them yearly until my elbows give in.
