Brilliant all round performance every player did their bit and to top it off browny smashed a few people about for 7 mins.

Must say varney is a little revalation especially when I saw diouf was on bench I wondered what was going on.

That 4 man midfield is amazing green, tonge, norris, varney
They dominated from start to end.

Even byram kept ince quiet and the fans kept ince in his place.

All in all I am glad I attended and proved to be more than worth the money paid.

Still dreaming MOT

Believable21 Unbelievable0

Just glad they never scored from the free kick that Brown gave away with his first real 'tackle' of the game on Ince?

Why does Warnock insist on playing Brown when he has shown again and agin that he's a 'loose canon' that is liable to concede so many free kicks?

Agree2 Disagree2

21 Feb 2013 19:50:55
I think its because he can be a very good player. Organises midfield well and is good at picking out a pass. He lacks speed but if he had that we would have a great creative midfielder. Hope he goes into coaching his fight and passion is exceptional

Warnock claims the credit for that performance! OK, then why has he persisted with Austin and Brown and hoofball for most of the season? Why does he say Peltier was magnificent when he played him at left back for half of the season?
He has made a complete b**ls tactically this season and has ruined our chances of promotion himself. The players as we saw tonight and in several of the cup games are capable when played in the correct position and with the correct tactics.

Believable12 Unbelievable8

Blimey, give Neil a break! Even when he gets things right it seems that it doesn't stop the persons out there focusing on the negative. Think your post says more about you than it does about Neil Warnock. Get a life!

Sassy

Agree16 Disagree5

Haha the old 'get a life' insult. I was delighted to get Warnock 12 months ago, his reputation was great, however having seen 24 of the 32 league games this year I am very frustrated. I don't do the 'we're getting promoted' after a win and 'we're getting relegated' after a loss reaction. I just look overall and gave my opinion, some will agree and some won't. Warnock has got us some decent players and then not made much of a job of using them. I won't be able to 'get a life' now until Milwall as my 'other life' is getting in the way on Saturday. All the best Sassy. MOT ish

I think tonight's result is testimony to what could have been this season had Warnock played the team in it's right positions and played attacking football.

Feel compelled to post after tonight.

Great to see a good attendance first of all, as ever the Leeds fans are fantastic and the atmosphere in the stadium was a hell of a lot better

Credit to NW for changing the team for Sunday. Really think we look a lot better with Tonge, Green and Norris starting. Austin has been shocking since coming back from his injury and those 3 I really believe with a run of games can be a strong and consistent midfield for us

Delighted for Varney, he's had some stick but tonight he was outstanding and has shown the form which ironically he showed whilst at Blackpool when they were in the premiership. Again, with a run of games I think he could be key as be seems to a player who needs a run and the confidence that brings

Great to see Morison get his first goal, he could be key for us too and really hope he can kick on now and knock them in for us. Breaking your duck as a striker is always important and we need him firing if we're going to make the playoffs

Credit to GFH for dropping the prices to get the attendance up - regardless of what been said, they obviously know how important our fans our, we've proven time and again how great and noisy we are and how important a good attendance can be. if we get performances and results like tonight combined with lower prices (particularly midweek), the attendance will only ever improve, which means more money for the club and better atmosphere

Finally, I know this has been said many a time but this result against Blackpool could seriously give us the kick start we desperately need and want to set us off on a run and get us at least into the playoffs, looking at how we've performed in the cups, I'd actually really fancy out chances to be honest. I've seriously doubted Neil Warnock recently but have faith that if anyone can work some magic it's him

MOT come on Leeds, PLEASE let don't let this be false hope and let's put a run together and get into those playoffs!

This season has given us so many ups and downs, beating the likes if spurs, Everton and Southampton have been great, tonight was another example of what we're capable of but whilst we can be great at times, we can also be horrific. If only there was some consistency we'd be in with a chance of promotion.

Again, it's clear that Tonge, Green and Norris are what we should be starting with in midfield and when NW plays people in their natural positions we aren't a bad team. fingers crossed we can build on this and at least make the playoffs. I'll reserve judgment for now but it's clear that we have the ability

I regularly look at the Leeds rumours page and it amazes me how far and creative some of these rumours are, some of which have no logical sense!

There seems to be a lot of gossip and rumours about takeover, GFH, Ken Bates and proposed future planning - let me set the record straight for you all.

Ken Bates first of all and above all is a business man, he is not in nay business to make other people happy or even to leave any legacy, he has simply has been and will be about making money. The sale of Leeds UTD to GFH was pre meditated and masterminded in order to give bates controlling shares without public knowledge, you all wanted him out but he wasn't ready to go! Let me explain this further:

Control of the club and assets in the name of Ken Bates split into shares amongst other companies created offshore, Canary Islands and Gibraltar accounts held with domicility held in Monacco - all above board but created so that various accounts do not have to be publicised and tax purposes. A proportion of shares are then sold to a company created as an investment company with legal documents in place of having a Mr Bates as a Chairman (that way he can still claim for the private jet from Monacco to the UK under Leeds expenses amongst other things) and Mr Bates buying shares back into the holding of GFH capital! Remember its an investment company and if you wish to put money into one of their funds you will be entitled to be share and dividend payouts!

GFH have no money they are simply there to take the heat of Ken Bates and try and sell the club for a huge profit to a middle eastern, chinese or indian consortium.

In order to pay dividends out to shareholders you have to make a profit that's why we sell all our promising and best players and replace them with loan or cheap players!

GFH will continue to do this till someone serious comes in to buy at 100m plus! until then expect nothing more!

Believable7 Unbelievable15

I also read the posts, and some are logical nonsense, like the one above.

Agree5 Disagree0

Patronising in the extreme

Agree3 Disagree0

What a load of tosh! Bates has made his £ & is NOTHING to do with LUFC anymore FACT. GFH want to make their money from getting us back to the premiership - big incentive for them as they'll have a real chance of selling on for a massive profit then, but only then. JBo

I read this website daily and I see both sides of the story in regards to investment, manager, player quality and league position. And I almost fell into the 'our season is over' group. I then looked at the league table and I can't see why we are shooting ourselves in the foot and giving up we are currently 13th and 9 points off of play offs. We also have 2 games in hand agaisnt most of the clubs who are around us. I know its an if but IF we win those 2 games then we are 3 points off of the P/O and then everything looks pretty again. I appreciate this is an optimistic but if we can't be that then let's all switch off until the summer

It is imperative that we get as many points as possible until the end of the season. We fans can help massively by:
1) Getting behind the players and actually encouraging them, not abusing them.
2) Get behind Warnock and not chanting against him, this has to have an adverse effect on the players with regard to morale.
From what I've seen the players look nervous in games and afraid to do anything in case they are abused. This can be eradicated easily, just clap them and show we appreciate their efforts it might just make a difference.
I hate the style of football we're playing but negative vibes from us really don't help. Support NW for the rest of his tenure, he hasn't had it easy either.
MARCHING ON TOGETHER is our anthem, let's do it for the rest of the season. MOT Ron

Did you clap for Thomas Brolin?
I don't clap unless I appreciate what is on offer!

Agree7 Disagree4

Yes I did because he wore the white shirt and as I am a supporter I gave him my support. He was useless, but I supported him.
I think players respond to genuine applause and raise their game.
I know our squad isn't the best but we need to play our part to get the best out of them calling them donkeys etc ain't going to help much.

If clapping raises their game maybe they should get it in their wage packets in place of the money, ticket prices would be cheaper too.

I think we just have to face the facts. Leeds are just an average 2nd division (Championship) team. We don't have the financial backing to be in the 1rst Division (Premiership) and we are not likely to in the next 5-10 years unless we can bring through a talented group of youngsters from the academy.
We can't afford to buy our way up!

I been a fan over 40 years but I am now resigned to just being an average 2nd division team. What I will not tolerate though is Premiership prices for 2nd Division football.

Obvious to me now GFH not right people to run football club. They wanna sell 30 per cent to reduce exposure. Not does that show lack of funding and belief, no-one will want 30 when 30 not too far away from 51 the majority. Obvious an investor will want 51 - just like they did! Doh!

We are set to stagnate. Mid table championship club til GFH sell up.

Believable8 Unbelievable6

20 Feb 2013 13:16:59
why wouldn't anyone want to buy 30%?
they will be making money while been in the background they still get to vote what happens to leeds united but gfh will get the final say.
gfh will probably want around 20 - 25 million for 30% of the club.
This will help us reach the prem league and then the money will be made and the club will be worth double atleast and even more if we stay there.

Agree2 Disagree0

Investors don't always want 51%. They only need that if they want to take control. The investor will get intrest paid by the club on their investment, it's always much higher than bank rates, so it's attractive, the club gets cash to help it improve, therefore making their investment worth more, and if they get promoted their £10mill investment will be worth around £50mill. That's the gamble, it's all about cash, not owning the club, that's secondary

Agree1 Disagree1

To poster who thinks not all investors want 51. Think again. This is a football club. Leeds United football club. One of the prize possessions in football. People can be greedy. Bottom line. If you want 30 per cent you'll want 51. This is a bad strategy by GFH. They intend/needto give up too big a slice. Shouldn't be more than 15 or 20 at a max. They are in for rude awakening.

I know most people have given up on the play offs. but look at the table! We have 2 games in hand over Charlton, Derby, Notts Forest and Boro. We also have one game in hand over Brighton, Blackburn and Burnley. What I'm basically saying is, if we win our next two matches, we'll be 2 points off 6th place. We aren't doing too badly lads, support the lads to the max for the rest of the season! don't let our club succumb to a below par position due to a lack of support at games! (although it is obviously due to a lack of quality players and management) At least if we all go to ER every game and end up not in the play offs, we'll know that we did all we could. Of course I want Warnock out as much as everyone else, but until the decision is made at the top, we have to accept that he's staying for now. He'll probably leave at the end of the season, but until then, let's make sure we get up to where we belong! let's make the final push for the end of the season!!!!

I reckon the mere presence of warnock is having a negative effect on the players. He is uncouth, insulting and tactically clueless. I reckon, get rid, pay him up and let redfearn take control till end of season. We need somebody positive and fair in control. Not the thug. The team just can't be bothered to put effort in because they get slagged off anyway. I guarantee just getting him away from elland road would have a positive effect on team and results. NW will walk/be sacked after tonights game, expect a dismal draw (0-0) and the attendance around 12,000

although results went for us last night, giving us a slighter better chance, I think the team is so low its just a matter of finishing off the games.

Typical NW looking after himself, talking how good he is and he deserves a medal. he hasn't changed much since he has been at ER apart from two HISTORIC HOME DEFEATS!

Results elsewhere were good tonight.

We can still do this! Playoffs are reachable. We have 2 games in hand on 6th place M'boro. Oh how I wish we had beat them and Wolves. I think we can make playoffs, maybe I'm dreaming and thinking with my Leeds filled heart but one of two things needs to happen, and I'd love GFH or Neil to see this post.

To GFH, get rid of Warnock and get someone in who can manage and use the whole squad and can play football

If Warnock is staying til the end of the season then Neil, use the fxxking players properly

Give Ryan Hall a chance to run at defenders, watch his assist for Becchios header at Huddersfield, what a cross. Imagine him firing that in and Steve Morison getting his first Leeds goal from it. Imagine Morison knocking it down to Ross to drill one low in bottom corner. Imagine Habibou coming on with 30mins left of the match and snatching a winner for us. Imagine young Dawson getting a run out and laying on an assist for Diouf to take us into the playoffs. Sam Byram has been a revelation just as many youngsters have in the past, give Dawson a chance, recall Poleon give him a chance. Actually instead of imagining everything I've just typing, just do it. Get your 8th promotion and retire happy. If you can't do this then retire now, walk away and let someone else do what needs to be done and let us get back to where we belong in the premiership. I wish we had some of the siege mentality of the minus 15 points days in the team right now. We are Leeds and we can fxxking well do this

Let's give blackpool a doing tomorrow night

Infact, now that the cup runs are over is Ashdown going to scratch his ass all season, let the man play. Bench Kenny for a change.

Much as I'd love to go up and cheer the team on, until Warnock puts players in their right positions, plays youngsters in the team and also plays the players we felt were good enough to buy, and stops playing 'hoofball' I won't be spending the near £100 it cost me to go to a game, or taking the time to plan a trip.
