MM. Your mission, if you choose to accept, is to go on a reconnaissance mission to the Arsenal, on the 2nd weekend in March and report back on the quality of the pies. I've not been to their new stadium and fancy a trip next season when we play them.

Lucas old boy, I won't be attending the game as Leeds are at home to QPR the same weekend. Hopefully Lincoln's game will be moved and I can do both. I have been to the Emirates before though, when we drew 1-1 in the cup a few years back. Nice comfy padded seats, no atmosphere from the home fans but plenty from 9000 whites there. Didn't try a pie as eating is cheating on match day πŸ˜‰

What Lincoln City have achieved 'so far' this season has been nothing short of amazing. Last season they had almost gone bust, this season they are top of their league with games in hand, in quarters of FA Cup and the FA Trophy. It's great for the city and huge credit goes to the Cowley brothers (remember the name) , they will go far in the game. Having said that Lucas, I'm Leeds through and through and have been since I first went at the age of five. Keep on downing those pints old boy and I'll forgive the odd pie to soak the beer up. Nice emojies too! MM

Great for the city the county and for football in General Danny Cowley is on tv more than Donald trump I really hope they win promotion and loan some talent down to York street so we can progress

Question for the old timers. Would Leeds have won lots more trophies back in the day with a top class keeper? Had a chat with a retired journalist recently and he said without a doubt if Leeds had a top keeper we would have won many more trophies. Harvey and more so Sprake were not good enough at the top level. If we had Peter Shilton we would of cleaned up apparently?

Never really thought that it was the lack of a better goalie that was our undoing. But here's a current poser. What position would we be in today if we'd signed Fernando Forestieri ?

Fixture congestion cost Leeds hugely during the period your talking about

I remember Harvey alright watched him in early 80s and looked proper solid. However seen clips of Sparke and not so good. Then again I suppose with lack of footage only his howlers get seen?

Sprake was a good keeper apart from his huge howlers, which were embarrassing but not that numerous

Both Sprake and Harvey were excellent, Sprake made occasional howlers but helped to win the Fairs cup almost single handed - he was not as solid as Harvey but was a better shot stopper. Too many games and, as is the case now, we were not liked and were always a man down to the officials. Even the fixture list was against us

spake seemed a bit like silverstri great shot stopper and on his day a match winner but lacked in other areas. Harvey seemed very solid if unspectacular. Looking over Sprakes howlers it seems obvious to me he was on the take.

They often come in high profile games when the gamblers would of made a pretty penny. Not of that era but it seems to me the great team didn't win as much as they should of, i think the keeper was a flaw I also think attitude may of been a problem, they seem to either bottle it under pressure or think they were too good.

I know this will not be popular but they didn't win no where near enough and had too many upsets against smaller teams for it not to of been some kind of mental/attitude problem that at least contributed to the colchester's etc

good dogged performance against tough opposition and against the run of play. still hanging on even though we are not playing at our best. would be nice to see an upturn in form again soon and hopefully start to see the new lads having a bit more of an impact in the coming games. another tough one against the Wendies - will be made up if we win that onebut i'd take a point right now.

Think we will be in mix of playoffs at end of season. Monk seems to persist with sacko and dallas a lot rather than trying ped and barrow. Just think we are too defensive and dallas is more a workhorse than a provider We need to be a bit more Creative and exciting. We only need 4 defenders. Not 6 or 7.

Perhaps Ped and Barrow aren't quite cutting it in Training yet, perhaps their fitness or understanding the Monkey way is not quite there yet. Hopefully they will soon be in and making a difference during our run for the line. In Monk we trust.

Someone previously had a good idea. What about dropping Dallas into midfield? He is lacking a burst of pace on the wing but less necessary in the middle of the park. Passing and workrate could be a bonus and if my memory serves me right it would not be the first time a winger has converted. The first one I remember is when we bought a cast off winger from ManU and turned him into the great Johnnie Giles.
