People condeming us after a few preseason defeats have no idea what they're on about. Both Manchester clubs, Villa, Brum and Blackburn for example have all failed to win in games where they would hammer the team mid season. Wasn't it the year we beat Newcastle that they went on to challenge for the top 4 in the promised land?
ValleyWhite.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Also the year Newcastle went up they lost 6-1 to leyton orient in pre season so I wouldn't worry too much

20 Jul 2013 22:37:31
What about Renato Ibarra he's a right winger and he's out of contract next year, for me he would be amazing to have on our team

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Jul 2013 22:23:45
Don't worry about pre season guys the club is going in the right direction in my view. The board are taking us away from the Bates era and now we can buy tickets at reasonable prices, listen to commentary on the radio and even buy a Leeds shirt on the high street. I think the signings we want will follow so let's give this new start our full support.
DP.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes, I agree Morrison is better than most think. He is a 20 goals a season striker and could have done a job for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldnt disagree more morison never wanted to join us to start with so what's the point in having a player that doesn't want to play for us mcdermott was right in getting rid of him

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree Norwich mugged us 2 million down the drain.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2013 21:29:59
I said it before, and i'll say it again, Morison was carrying an injury when he joined us even an injured morison will score more goals than hunt, smith and mc cormack put
together.
Seems like first error of judgment. on macs part.
Although not macs team stuck with warnocks team i'm afraid.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Morrison is a 20 goal striker if he's fit and I agree our front three wouldn't get 20 betweenthem

Agree0 Disagree0

Go and support Milwall if you love him that much.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2013 19:41:55
Any chance of promotion next season or a place in lay offs we will needs at least 4 signings 2 wingers Centre back and a striker proven goal scorer

Well I live in Reading and have supported Leeds all my life, was out last week and met a couple of Reading supporters who know a few of the Reading players, and very worryingly they had been told that BMD is clueless, he's a good scout but never a manager, they even went as far as saying they would be surprised if he was at Leeds at the end of the season. I was quite shocked!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No matter what point you're trying to make. Just sit back in your chair and look at the facts. 1st season challenged for promotion. 2nd season won the league and 3rd season shouldn't have ever been sacked for doing a pretty decent job. His teams in the past played great football. Let him build his team cause so far there is only 3of his men out there so 8have to to adapt and that's just starting team. Stop stiring and support the club

Agree0 Disagree0

A clueless manager that got Reading promoted. I'll take that over a manager that knows what he is doing but doesn't get promoted.

Agree0 Disagree0

Play offs one season, promotion the next. PL Manager of the month too. Doesn't sound clueless to me. You're mates are winding you up. Calm down dear

Agree0 Disagree0

Sounds like sour grapes to me the month before mcdermott got sacked at reading he won manager of the month in the prem no mean feat is that brian is the man for are club fans need to be patient with him

Agree0 Disagree0

Id be more worried for the clueless reading fans who badmouth there best manager in years. All you have to do is watch a BM interview to see he knows what he's doing. Vinny.

Was at the Walsall game today, we had no width Tongue was forced out at times and he is never a winger. Poleon showed glimpses of what he can do but was never getting the ball in fairness. Peltier tried playing wing back like Byram he was good going forward just no end product. Lees and Pearce didn't play badly, they both made vital tackles/interceptions. White came on 2nd half in his new free role and did look good to be fair. Murphy did not live up to his hype, I thought the stand out performers were Green, McCormack and Kenny, RossCo actually showed some determination and frustration which is what we want to see when we are losing right? Kenny got abuse from a few fans, "f**k off to Sheffield utd" this was unfair so most leeds fans did back kenny up which is nice to see! Overall though, poor performance and Walsall reserved (who didn't even have squad numbers may I add) played us off the park at times the last 10 minutes was okay but that's too late and isn't good enough

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm really worried another defeat today to an average league one club concede an earley goal and coultned score again. we need a new centre back because perce is average a new winger and a good quality striker that we can rely on to get us 20-30 goals this season because if we are relying on mcormack to score for us we will be waiting as he hasn't got one yet this pre season. and don't start saying the season hasn't started yet have faith in Brian I've heard it all before at the end of the day we are not good enough simple as that.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Walsall out played us! They looked like the championship side and us div1. When they put their kids on in 2nd half they still out passed us. Hope this was just one of those days our we could be in trouble.

Agree0 Disagree0

You lot should b ashamed to call yourself leeds fans, all you ever do is slag them of. pre season is pre season the main thing about it is to try different things and not worry about the score. 5 games into the season and we dnt win any then yes you should worry but for god sake do your jobs and support leeds united, what good is it? none

Agree0 Disagree0

Last post well said.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have nothing to be ashamed of, 45 years of watching and sheding blood for Leeds, I was at Walsall and post what I saw. I also tag my post's, that is open to all, though so many still want to hide. I have not slagged Leeds off, unlike those who booed them off the pitch.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2013 17:52:40
what a season where in for got beat by two s*** teams abroad then beaten by s***ty walsall we will be in relegation fight as teams in championship are twice as good as walsall
welcome back to league 1

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Pre season results have hardly proven that Leeds are going forward be very lucky to finish above 15th next season

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree with you squad not good enough simple as that.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you look at the starting 11, not much different or better than last year, we struggled to contain them or create many chances, pre-season or not, this is supposedly our strongest side, our strike force looks poor, no wingers, no commanding CH, and lack creativity in midfield, c'mon red bull call Elland Rd what you like, just splash the cash.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stop moaning we won every game last pre season but look at where we ended up finishing under warlock this time round things are different we have a manager that will give his all for this club what more do you moaners want in brian we trust

Agree0 Disagree0

Ye really you don't say pre season is exactly that PRE which means before. so it's when everybody meets and gets to know how each other play and for new/old guys to adapt to new systems tell you what maybe you would prefer it to happen during season. Christ get off the clubs back we've got best guy in charge for over a decade at least! Do you know what support Means? If so JUST DO IT! I'm fed up ready bloody negativity on here all the time,, if you support LEEDS SUPPORT LEEDS JEEZZ,
SOZ ED rant over any gossip snippets you can divulge to us mate?
Hope you guys all ok keep up great work you do!Keeping sites upto speed! Regards
Leeds for life! MOT.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2013 20:23:55
Results prove exactly that! No pace brought in no goals brought in and no defensive leader brought in. Qed another season nearer bottom than the top of the league.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pre season means nothing, support leeds or jog on

Agree0 Disagree0

Putting stock in preseason results is borderline foolish. Main priority in preseason is to make sure the squad is prepared for the season. The results must be taken with a full shaker of salt. Match fitness is most important, team unity is next, results are down the list.

In the US similar things are said before the start of baseball or American football. Nobody ever remembers preseason results. Least of all the team.

Minnesota White

Agree0 Disagree0

Its ok saying its only pre-season but if that was the case why did BMD feel that was his worst day as lufc manager.
he knows unless something changes before september 1'st then its going to be a long hard season with us occupying the lower half of the table

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2013 17:09:55
I know it's pre season but we are crying out for 2 wide players, Ross is a striker not a Midd in any way shape or form him and Hunt would do well up top for us with 2 wide players
. Brian has always played 4 4 2 come on £ED Bull give us wing$$$$$,

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Jul 2013 17:05:21
Anybody at the game tonight?
Whats the story?
3 in a row not a good sign
If players are fit enough then it proves they are not good enough
Mcd will sort it but it is what it is
Leader defender. Pacey winger. Prolific. Then should be sorted

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Its pre season you can't read anything in to it look how good we did last summer we were like world beaters then when the league started we were bang average

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2013 17:04:03
Listened to the game today at Walsall sorry no real striker no real width and very poor in defence, a bunch of kids came on in second half and carved out much better chances than we did with seasoned players on the pitch. Poeple saying it's not the result that matters it's the performance, well that's 3 crap performances on the trot, time to get that cheque book out GFH we need wide men a centre back and a 20 goal a season striker before it to late again.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

So what your saying is you would rather us hammer teams like last pre season under warnock and get know where as it showed than playing better opposition and actually getting tested in the long run these games will be crucial for the start of the season keep the faith brian is the man

Agree0 Disagree0

I fear the worse for next season. I would take finishing fourth from bottom now if we don't bring any new players in.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great fan you are joker

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2013 17:01:40
Does Morison have a recall clause in his season long loan from millwall anyone?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No according to phil hay we can't recall morison at anytime during the season

Agree0 Disagree0

No he doesn't, the only clause is that he cannot play against us

Whats wrong with most of you so called LU fans out there. I don't care who sponsors (ie red bull/white bull/blue frog etc) us as long as they pump a bucket load of money into the club with the hope of making us successful once again.
GFH go for it & make as much money as possible McD. Forget the LUFC dinosaurs who don't like change, don't forget our history, that's in the past now, you can't change it but what you can change is the future and only investment can help to do that.
Help to create and whiter and brighter future. In GFH & McD I trust.
MOT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

So called Leeds fans?. Have a word with yourself numpt. There will be no fan up and down the country opposing investment and after what we've been through in recent years it will be more welcome than ever. The problem a lot of people have including myself is at what cost. I don't mind ER being renamed The Elland Road Red Bull Stadium but what a lot fear is a complete rewrite of our history ala the team from Austria. If we haven't got a history we've got nothing and the likes of Billy Bremner who was Leeds would turn in his grave at the thought of his beloved Leeds United being no more as would people like my old man who introduced me to Leeds United from a very young age. Take that away and what are you left with?. people like the OP who don't give a stuff as long as money is ploughed in. Hey why not call ourselves Norwich FC Feeder Club if the money is right? Have some class you div

Agree0 Disagree0

What are you saying about taking away history? What are they going to do, burn all the books and give us all memory wipes and pull down Billy's statue. It's you who needs to have a word with yourself.

Agree0 Disagree0

Red bull will only be investing not fully purchasing the club there fore there will be no austria situation. Expect maybe a shirt sponsor, stadium name and training ground name change. Its all good news lately so don't panic

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2013 13:40:56
Someone said it earlier and I couldn't agree more, the Red bull thing will just be another excuse for people to say i'm not going to the games. whether were called Elland Road The Red Bull stadium or the all singing dancing greenhouse what the hell does it matter if these guys are ready to pump investment into the club, everyone complains like hell because GHF show no ambition in the transfer market and when they do do something that every football team out their is having to do just to stay alive and get outside investment, you still moan. I think its a bit of a master stroke getting a worldwide brand to invest in our club WELL DONE GHF I bet they read some of your comments and think why did we bother. what's wrong with you would you prefer Bates back, c'mon and get behind the team and stop moaning thank God we've still got a team to support

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well said, I agree 100%

Agree0 Disagree0

When you say "everyone complains like hell" does that include your self? I suspect that 99. 9% of Leeds fans are behind the team and the club, pissers and moaners always look to find a soap box to spout from it just so happens it is this site, ignore them and get on with doing your own bit. See you at Elland road

Agree0 Disagree0

No how would it not matter? leeds r leeds not red bull leeds its things like that, which seperate true leeds fans 2 the people just wanting a quick fix untill we r back here again. leeds r leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

The only reason leeds fans have been staying away is ken bates. unfortuanately they have got out of the habit of coming and the only thing that will bring them back is a winning team. a lot of leeds fans are not on elland road auto pilot anymore and also a lot of kids are not nagging their parents to go to games. sad but true.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ive been a leeds supporter for 50 years pal things change everyday we need investment or we will always be mid table championship

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats not an excuse if you support leeds united you follow your team no matter what you do everything you possibly can the fans at are club should be playing a massive part this season about time everyone stopped moaning and started supporting this manager we have in my opinion the best for a very long time.

Would really like to see Mackey Steven as our next signing but it could be mills who is our next signing time will tell

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I heard GMS isn't interested in moving anywhere right now & we've turned our attentions to a young Iceland player who plays for Dutch club AZ

20 Jul 2013 13:04:24
Hello everyone. Don't worry I don't have a wild transfer rumour with no evidence, i'm here with my opinion. I think maybe bmd might only be after one more player. for now. It could be mills. Look at who he has brought in. Two players with potential in smith and Murphy and a player hr can rely on in hunt. And if we get mills again its someone bmd knows can do a job at this level. He has inherited a pretty limited squad. It might take a few games into the season in august for him to recognise the areas he needs to improve on. So I don't think there will be too much more activity until august. one thing is for sure his style of play is better thank warnocks sp he might get this team playing good footy! Liam p

Matt Mills, Rowe & another midfielder. Some players still to go. Then we're done.

here my take on the things regarding red bull I honestly believe this will be the way forward if we are to be a big club again its simple as that money wasn't an issue leeds were a huge force on the game in 60' and 70's not anymore the game has changed simple as that and we all know it! the history lies with us supporters we know what our history is but don't we want to make more history do people wanna be talking bout leeds history in the 50 years or ten years I mean come on dya think cardiff fans are complaining now that there not called the blue tits anymore of coarse not and now they are there in the premier league with a great owner with a vision!
well our owners also have ambiition they are trying to wake a sleeping giant as we all know we are! now unless one of us are going to win euro millions and pump it into the club which we won't we need a way forward since the club is now a steady ship we NEED investors dya think man city fans care their ground is not maine road anymore coarse not now the richest club! etihad pumps 400M yes 400M that's 40 M a year over ten years which finds a loop hole against financial fair play as well correct me if i'm wrong! all i'm saying is we all need to be a bit open minded on this and truly vision our prospects because I don't know bout you guys but I want to be challenging the chelski's the the pool etc not scrapping it out in relagation WHEN we go up be it this season or next I believe!
the past is history the future is a mystery and now is a present!
just my opinion of coarse like to here yours!

All this talk of defenders needing pace is a load of bull, John terry has no pace vidic has no pace puyol has no pace, but they are top class cb that win the champion leauge it's all about creating a brick wall and keeping in line and playing off side. matt mulls will be good for us trust.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Red Bull Blue as in the Formula 1 Team colours

Agree0 Disagree0

Vidic has pace actually. a better cb needs pace and puyol looks decent cus anyone would with there players. put him in a sunderland team then you would see just how poor he is

Have any of you doom & gloom merchants read the Red Bull article? We're not going to be the next Salzburg! They will be re-naming the stadium. For £30m, what do you expect? Red Bull Arena is a fantastic name. Move with the times. We've already got the Emirates, Etihad, Reebok Stadium. We're not going to be called LUFC RedBulls and we're not going to change the badge or the kits. Stop listening to the ridiculous rumours of people who haven't read the article!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Couldnt agree more, the money is very much needed. I'll happily go to the red bull arena, because I don't care what it says on the signs, we will still call it elland road

Plus, the team name won't change, that happened with AV Salzburg and New York Metrostars because Red Bull bought and fully took over both clubs. They are only talking about sponsoring Leeds, entirely different thing

Crmd

Agree0 Disagree0

Think you'll find uit will be Blue as in the Red Bull Formula1 team colours

Agree0 Disagree0

The only thing that could be worrying is it's known GFH will want to sell us on to the highest bidder, Red Bull sponsorship could be the first phase of a full take over. that I would have issues with, but Stadium name? who cares.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2013 04:18:30
Leeds will have a red 3rd kit if redbull take over

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Jul 2013 02:43:37
I hope the red bull deal goes through just for the money please please please don't call elland road the red bull stadium! I can here the fans laughing now

I can hear the fans laughing at the Etihad and the Emirates too. oh wait.

20 Jul 2013 00:41:48
If the red bull thing is going to happen I for one don't care less if they change the stadium name. As long as they invest. Plus whatever the stadium is called officially it will always be ER and it will always have me in the Dons stand. MOT, Vinny.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

With the size off the parachute payments now without investment we will just stagnate in this league or lower I for one would rather see prem football at the elland road red bull arena than league 1 football again. regarding any shirt change we played in blue and gold for years and changed to white under don we even won the fairs cup in all red kit so let see what happens first before starting to panic

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree, its much needed investment, look at Cardiff, no ones complaining now there in the premiership. So the kit changes, maybe the grounds name, we will still be Leeds utd, and will still be the best fans in the world.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im with you on that too vinny I don't care if they call it prospect farm lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Just looking forward to 1st game its dragged without football this year, vinny.

19 Jul 2013 23:01:56
All this red bull talk is making me nervous. I wouldn't mind them doing a lot of things if they provide significant investment but from what I've heard there are a few things that I'm worried about.

Firstly the history of the club. If GFH are only looking to make a profit on us eventually then red bull may well end up buying us out. Which may lead to a Red Bull Salburg situation where they tear down the history of the old club and start anew.

Secondly thename of the club. I will walk from Elland Road and never come back if we become "Leeds Red Bulls" or whatever. It would be an absolute joke.

Thirdly the 1st kit. I do not mind if they change the away kit to silver and blue or red and blue or whatever but weMUST keep the 1st kit primarily white if we are to maintain our identity

I fear we may get investment but lose theLeeds United that we know

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hang on, they havnt said they will change Leeds Name, or even Rename the Ground and as for the home shirt staying white, they couldn't make much more of a pigs ear of it than the Ford go Faster stripe we have now, its horrendous.

Agree0 Disagree0

Another excuse not to come to elland road seems to be arising
"Im not going to elland road whilst red bull are investing"
