Really hope our improvement in form is down to either the addition of our assistant coach or just a consequence of the team coming together eventually. We are in the doo doo if it's a result if MC's enforced holiday!

Think it is down to redders, he has got the square pegs out of the round holes and found a formation that gets results by and large. also it is for me about the work ethic. they bled ed for the shirt today. gritty hard fought result which for me are the best ones

Agree BW. Redders and Thompson (who I'm sure has been a big help), have got the players working hard for each other and for the shirt. The players know how hard they have to try to get into the team and once in, they have to sweat blood to stay there. No prima donnas any more (and MC can take credit for that), just a bunch of lads who are proud to play for the club, When we scored yesterday, I thought holding on to that lead would be impossible, But the effort was immense - and despite the onslaught, Boro had very few actually clear cut chances. And we had one or two to increase our lead.This is a massive change since earlier in the season. There will be defeats of course (I think Tuesday will be very tricky) - but we are pretty solid at the back now (thank you Sol). When we start to score more goals, we are going to be give someone a right tonking. Simply, we only lose when we don't play to our best. When we do, we can beat any team!

True not been said yet but good teams win when not at their best which is very much what happened yesterday. I don't see many goals sadly so can't see us tonking anyone but will be happy with 1-0 or 2-1 every week. After last ten or so years would be happy to be the new boring boring arsenal who won the league a few times

Credit for our change of fortunes should go to the introduction of Steve Thompson to the training staff. Redfern was clueless until he joined. The formation as changed and the players are being used in their best positions and the future looks a lot better than it did. So Bermondsey if you are handing out the plaudits don't forget the man behind Redfearn.

A solid performance, every player put in a real shift, and there's no hiding place with Sol around, leading by example and encouraging those around him. I was happy that we created chances, despite a few saying we don't look to have goals in us, I think there is. A classic away performance and the younger players are gaining fantastic experience of how to grind out results, with a bit of time we'll bury one or two of those chances. Keep the motivation and confidence up boys, well done!!

I haven't read all the posts because apparently we are too happy to moan and don't have anything to say when we're doing well (only joking) but besides Bamba Gasgoine and Silver Vest who got a lot of creed, I thought The Fonz Bellusci was awesome. He is a true pro playing the game to the best of his ability, niggling away at everything, taking time out whenever and wherever possible. It's traits like this that helped eek this result out. Great result, great back four, awesome keeper and a great work ethic from front to back.

Mick is a happy boy and Mrs Mick (if she plays her cards right) will be a lucky girl tonight!

He was much improved in the second half. I thought the first half he was being pulled all over by Vossen & Kike. He sorted himself out in the second - thinks he benefits from having Bamba alongside him to keep him in check. He's a much better player when he's not moaning & groaning.

Yeah I agree Mel (or as I used to know you, The Flying Pig) but I think this kind of experience got us over the line. Yeah, he got pulled about a bit in the first half but these boys were top of the league and playing at home so it was expected. I am not one to rave on about an individual and if I did it would be all about Silver Vest and La Bamba but I think The Fonz was up there with his experience. Just my thoughts and everyone's entitled to their opinion as long as they agree with me haha

My to turn to agree with you. We knew it was going to be tough against a decent side but we stuck with it & came away with a hard earned 3 points - they can all be pleased with their performance

best defender Bamba Second best defender Morison. May not be my first choice up front but he is wicked defending set plays.
For such a skillfull passing team we gave the ball away a little too much today which kept the pressure on unecessarily but all in all a marvellous backs to the wall performance from the whole team. The stats may show that we were the second best team on the park but it's still 3 points off the league leaders.
Can't wait for tuesday

Well happy with todays performance. Although under the cosh for most of the match the team played well. Bamba and silvestri where immense but you can't take away the credit from a team performance. Well done and well happy today.

leeds best team in the league right now beat derby while they were on top beat bournmouth twice and middlesboro twice while on top were going up next season no doubt about it! MOT

You call that the best team un the league? They ran rings around us. Was hard to watch. Excellent work rate but in terms of quality. Don't think so

Smitchell you ever happy we got 6 points of the top team in the league, the table don't lie and there were 1st. Lot to be said for the defensive display, better than the usual rants on here, we out played them but one mistake and we lost, nice to be on the other foot for a change
