With Grayson in charge its going to be a very long time indeed before Leeds get to the promised land of the premiership, in fact it will be that long it will probably be called something else - he simply has to go, we need to get someone in who actually knows how to manage a team !

Are you actually for real?? Look at graysons record at leeds.... 2 full seasons. 1 promotion and a 7th place in our first season in championship. So wat if we sell kasper... Scum sold ronaldo and still win the league... IN GRAYSON WE TRUST !!!

=======================

You're right, scum did gamble with Ronaldo and it paid off... But we're swapping our first choice goalkeeper who loved playing for Leeds; despite his father playing for our rivals, for a 30 year old goalkeeper who conceded 9 goals in 3 games. "IN GRAYSON WE TRUST !!!" ?? Then you need to go to a mental institution my friend. Would be surprised if we finish top half this season.

A quick fact.. We havent signed rachubka yet. And i agree if he is 1st choice next season its a step back. But we need 2 keepers rachubka could be back up to a number 1 like westwood? Maybe mingelet from sunderland? Given? Sorensen? Smithies? Plenty keepers to be had. MOT

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I am for real mate, football is all about winning and getting promoted to the top league not coming 7th, IN GRAYSON WE TRUST MY ARSE, IF HE'S SO GOOD HOW COME HE DIDNT SORT THE DEFENCE OUT, HE HAD ALL SEASON TO DO IT, ILL TELL YOU WHY, HE HAS NO IDEA

RE Grant form Burnley. Only thing I know about him is letting in a tame Johnny Howson effort from distance that won us the game early doors last season....doesn't mean he's a bad keeper though!!

so we've lost kasper and higgs = we have 0 keepers so most of the money to go toawrds our defence is going for keepers we've lost naylor ( yay at last ) we've lost johnson & killa and we've signed someone called monty gimple looks positive :) deffo automatic promotion this season PLUS paytner will be upfront so next season we might have the worst defence and the worst upfront GRAYSON SOD OFF OR SIGN DEFENDERS AND NOT GET RID OF GOOD PLAYERS LIKE KASPER AND KILLA!! I'M FUMINGG!!! so on the leeds website we have 0 keepers 8 terrible defenders ( but in reality its 6 because conolly and o'brein cant kick a ball let alone stop it from going in ) we have 4 midfielders and 5 strikers so all in all i think lets bring in more frees! from league one and two stick them in defence and bring in another free in goal and frees and more frees until we bates grows his arms and dishes out the cash!!! :) Rant over.

A decent target man for Somma to play off. He is a natural(our best) goal scorer who cannot(at the moment) play well on his own up front. Plus we need decent midfield/defence imports so we dont leak too many goals while Somma is scoring them at the other end.

bates and grayson out! making stupid decisions selling a quality goalkeeper for £1million! I feel sorry for schmeichel and wish him the best for the futre!

Believable4 Unbelievable3

I have to disagree. Grayson has been a great manager and whether or not you like Bates, he has brought much needed stability to our club and is ensuring we don't get "Risdaled" again in the future. I agree with bringing in good solid free signings and loan deals. If we can get the likes of Bowyer, Smith, Woody in on freebies. Bring through Aidy White to play a bit more along with some of the other younger prospects we have that can play backup roles. Keep Snoddy and Gradel. Kasper made some mistakes and is far from being anything like his father. Getting a fee for him now is good business, maybe he wants to get a new contract but if Leeds know they aren't going to offer him one then whats the point in keeping him on a bench for a season, wasting wage money and letting him go for free when we can get cash money for him now. Given would be a fantastic signing on loan if we can get a Man City/Bellamy/Cardiff style deal sorted.

Once we get back into the Premiership, that is the time to SPEND money and solidify our place in the top flight. The only money getting spent in the Championship now is money spent on standard Championship players that would't cut it in the top flight, so why waste the money spending now. Lets get behind Grayson, get behind our team, and get back to the Premiership where we belong.

Marching On Together!!!! {Ed015's Note - i Trust Grayson! He has leeds at his heart! he must know what hes doing}

Agree1 Disagree1

Dont agree bates is made for leeds in simon we trust remember where we were 3 0r 4 years ago as for kasper sorry to c him go but he was only average and lives on his dads name loads more better keepers out there

Agree0 Disagree1

Ppl tell us to stop living in the past and im going to say the same for ppl saying ''remember were we were after 2004" - were not there now- we have solid finances and we need investment to get back where we belong.
"Remember we won the title in 1992 so obvoiusly we'll win it next year cos we had it then" its the same principle - TAKEOVER NEEDED - FAST!

Amazing, just seen woody smith and bowyer!! WTF they were Outside peacock in flat caps and clothes from the salvation army, busking in a three some. Woody was on triangle, smithy on banjo and Lee was banging on a dust bin lid to songs like ' Hard knock life' 'my old mans a dustman' and 'in the ghetto by elvis. I asks smithy what were they playing at, he said hey just been to see bates
and they now realise how hard up they Re gonna be so they were saving up for a deposit on a one bedroom
basement flat in beeston. It was quite surreal but emotional to see that level of commitment, I knew they always wanted to come back to Leeds. Magic that Bates, sorted.

I agree possible departed of kasper not a big a deal as everyone making out. Fair enough he plays with his heart on his sleave but i feel people ar hung up on the name Scmiecel like it's their favourite brand name. A good keeper with more experience and a command around the box with better handling would be super. I applaud Leeds in a way for having the foresight to sell him while we can rather than be held to ransom by one player who may just want to run out his contract in a 'galant' final attempt to get promotion'. I mean it's he way he was saying about wanting to seve the last year on his contract, yes he said he doesn't want to leave by at no point has he signaled a longer term desire to stay rather than just a last ditch attempt to reach the perm. Thanks for last season kasper And all the best to you ...

Believable3 Unbelievable0

21 Jun 2011 12:32:44
Kasper going wouldn't be that big a deal. Great shot stopper, but great keepers don't concede 70 odd goals a season. Couldn't command his defencebox properly. Hope we don't get woodgate/smith/bowyer should be looking to the future not trying to recreate past. Wht not just go all out and get Lorimer and gray to put a pair of boots on if taking that approach!

Believable4 Unbelievable7

Rubbish

Agree2 Disagree1

Kasper was quality!! The amount of points he single handidly saved for us may have left Leeds in a completely different situation maybe looking over our shoulders at relegation without him.

Agree2 Disagree2

As i said a great shot stopper. A keeper with better command of his defence though wouldn't have been put in that situation as much. Defence was far from perfect, however a part of a keepers job is organisation. How many sloppy set plays and hopeful crosses did we end up conceding from last season? A keeper and centre half with a brain and a voice is top priority for me!

Agree0 Disagree0

As i said a great shot stopper. A keeper with better organisation skills would not have had to have made all those saves though. A part of a keepers job is organising the defence, how many sloppy set plays and hopeful crosses did we end up conceding from last year? A keeper and a centre half with a brain and a voice should be top priority, other than that current squad is fine. Lets face it Kisnorbo, white, lees, clayton, nunez, mccormack and sam will all be like a new signing due to various reasons (loans, injuries etc). Th leagues wide open and we've as good a chance as anybody!

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2011 12:05:35
Won't let Paynter leave but Schmeichel can go? Nice logic their Grayson. Always been proud of him as a manager but this is a disgrace and especially the way it has come out. Would it really of been that difficult for Simon to talk to Kasper as his manager? Suppose he is too busy sunning in barbados and i bet the international call rate is expensive.
I saw Kasper as an integral part of last seasons squad and you can't put a price on a gelling team which seems to be breaking to pieces. All these new players we will need to bring in will need time to gel and is this suposed to happen in the next month? I can see us been punished by a bad start to this season rather than the lacklustre finish. Maybe 2012/13 eh?

Ah well, MOT.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Not being funny or owt but the current team is just not good enough! we need new players with a bit of experience and surely the three players mentioned will add that, aswell as a bit of bite (smithy) and energy (bowyer) that the central midfield was badly lacking last year!

Agree2 Disagree3

I don't doubt for one second that if 'the trio' are fit and affordable we would be a better team but as far as i am aware none of them are goalkeepers? And while they might be brilliant players for a championship side it doesn't mean they will instantly click with the rest of the players. If we want to improve the team then surely focus on the weakest areas? We now need a new gk, cb, lb, rb & a cm or 2, that's a lot of players who will need to learn about each other and work as a team in a month. This has the potential to go horribly wrong, relationships between the team aren't built in a month and the most important is probably that of the back 4 and gk. I hope we pull something out of the bag and somehow get a bunch who fit together but i think this is definiately another playoff push season for us.

schmeical/westwood
Connolly kisnorbo woodgate parker
Snodgrass frinks smith bowyer gradel
Mccormack/becchio. Pos starting team. Looks interesting

Obviously a true leeds fan.... Leavin out the captain jonny howson??? Derrrrr {Ed015's Note - doesnt look that interesting as both keepers could be at other clubs, }

---------------------------------------------------
Hmmm...Keeping Connolly as first choice right back??
I'd prefer it if we released him! Stick Bromby out there (if we weren't to sign another RB), use his throw as a weapon. The difference when Lichaj played right back compared to Connolly was astounding, Connolly is a back-up at best. I hate to say things like that about Leeds players, but he was a passenger in a lot of games last season

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Are you for real? Do you ever watch Leeds? Connolly had a good season, did very little wrong. Bromby isn't a particularly good centre-half but he's absolutely clueless as a right-back.

Also, regarding the original post, Parker is way out of his depth at Championship level - League Two standard at best. {Ed015's Note - Would like to see Grayson give Parker and White a chance this season}

Agree0 Disagree3

Are you for real? Do you ever watch Leeds? Connolly had a good season, did very little wrong. Bromby isn't a particularly good centre-half but he's absolutely clueless as a right-back.

Also, regarding the original post, Parker is way out of his depth at Championship level - League Two standard at best.

Agree4 Disagree1

Yes, I am very real, and often watch Leeds, probably about 10-15 games a season...Quite an effort coming from South Wales, so I do feel I am entitled to some kind of an opinion, regardless of your attempted use of be-littling remarks.

And that's what it is...an opinion. I feel that Connolly has not impressed me at all, that he is a decent Championship player, but he wouldn't be taking the trip to the Premiership with us if we had got promoted this season. For me, he hasn't got that bit extra. I read somewhere about him re-training to play centre-back?? Not a chance!!
Bromby might seem clueless to you at right back, but to me he's a little wiser and doesn't bomb forward so much he gets caught out of position, therefore a little more solid. Also better in the air, can throw the ball well, and doesn't scuff many of his clearances.
However, I'd prefer us to sign Lichaj (Would you really choose Connolly over him?) or an upcoming right back who can make the step up.

Your opinion might be different...And your entitled to it.

Agree2 Disagree3

Correct, everyone's entitled to their opinion and I never said you weren't. Also, fair play to you if you travel that far to watch the team.

BUT I feel we can't afford to be picking the likes of Bromby just because he can throw the ball well. His distribution is terrible and he's too prone to silly errors.

Also, I never said I rated Connolly as better than Lichaj, I was just defending the lad. I remember he was slated by many Leeds fans on these sort of websites last summer before we'd even seen him in the white shirt. Subsequently I saw him do very little wrong. Whether he could do it in the Premiership is obviously uncertain, but to be fair that's true of our entire squad at the moment.

Regarding the left-back situation, I totally agree that it is time for White to have a chance. But Parker? Not for me, too slow, terrible positional sense and never fit.

Finally, I must say it was not my intention to "belittle" you. I, like every other Leeds fan, am just very frustrated at the moment. No offence intended.

Agree7 Disagree0

I agree with you. Connolly was absolute rubbish, hence why he didnt play most games, and hence why every left back skinned him every time. the guy who thinks hes good needs his eyes testing because obviously doesnt know anything about football, or leeds for that matter

Agree2 Disagree7

Frazer Richardson???
To me Grayson has his favorites, i felt he should have retained Frazer he was very skillful and could cross from deep. Plus he was also an academy product who had desire and loyalty to play for leeds

Agree2 Disagree3

"Connolly was absolute rubbish, hence why he didnt play most games"

He played 30 league games mate and wasn't dropped, he was injured. You're obviously a real expert on Leeds United aren't you? Ha ha ha!

Just thought i would give you a heads up regarding alan smith.

To celebrate me and my wifes wedding anniversary, my father in law gave us a holiday to barbados. We were staying in the north of barbados which is called Benthams.

Me and my wife were walking down the beach last week, to go to one of the beach bars, and i couldnt believe my eyes when i noticed a certain person at the bar. No other than Jonathan Woodgate. I got talking to him and mentioned i am a big leeds fan and passed on that when he played for us, he was like our brick wall in the defence and that to have him back again would certainly bring that back.

We had been talking for a good 20 minutes and he offered to buy me a drink, to which i accepted, my wife had got so bored of waiting for me she decided to go back to the hotel pool. I eventually decided to go back to the pool to see her, but just as i was leaving Woodgate said "our defence will be sorted next season, i will give you a hint im moving house up north" and winked at me. Make of this what you will but he seems to be on his way back home.

Going for a long sleep now only got back this morning but wanted to let you fellow Leeds fans aware.

MOT!

--

My god some people post some s**te on here. and worst of all you Leeds fans seem to believe it. That is the most fabricated story i think i may have read on here. If you were on honeymoon you would have had a camera, if you had a camera you would have taken a photo with him and if you had said photo you would upload this to one of the many photo hosting sites, post a link here and give your 'story' some credibility.

But alas, it was all made up so you wont have any proof. Go back to school.

*****When I went on a stadium tour about 5 years ago, Styx Lockwood (then general manager) told me that on the internationals board (as you walk into the Banqueting suite side, JC Stand) was left open for Alan Smith because he always said he would come back.

Normally the dates are ended when the player leaves the club (1999 - 2003) but Smithy's was never finished with a year. (1999 - )

Anyone been past the board recently? If it is still open maybe Smithy will be back, not involved with England anymore though!*****

The words 'clutching' and 'straws' spring to mind!
KB - 'Hi Alan we will offer you £500 a week at Leeds'
AS - 'Thanks Ken, I always said I would come back and they need to filll the internationals board in so wheres your pen?' {Ed015's Note - KB - sorry Alan, go buy your own pen im a tight git}

It's all well and good to say you haven't been offered a new contract but when your agent asked to double your wages or wait till the end of the current deal it doesn't really put the club in a good position as we've seen with Johnson and Kilkenny, if Kasper really wants to stay he'll have to come to the club with realistic demands of extending his deal another 2 years. Personally i think Kasper is happy to leave and the club is happy to take the money but both will try and spin it like they are the victim.
