Re PUs earlier post about 'we may have been better off going into administration' I'm going to go one step further and ask, if we'd have gone out of business altogether, (I know but stick with me) would we now support another club?, and if so who?
Go on, I know we've all thought about it!
You show me yours, and I'll show you mine! 😉.

21 Mar 2016 20:20:04
I am not able to visit Elland Road as much as I used to but deep down I would never support another football team if the unthinkable happened, it would be like kicking alcohol or drugs and not looking back. I am pretty much hopelessly addicted to Leeds United, and I thank God others feel the same way.

My family now support MK Dons (our local team) and I don't think they have any sort of addiction, they haven't know any of the highs or lows we Leeds supporters have experienced.

I have watched other teams play all over the UK and Europe with my work, but there is and always will be, only one team in my heart - Leeds United!

Keep the faith, stay UNITED!

yes leeds4alongtime! I work with leyton orient all my family and mates are millwall and my dad is palace. while I look out for palace for my dad and orient I could never be sickly addicted to them. I think on the whole it takes a certain type of person to be a leeds fan and think it can infect them/ us and what makes us passionate and crazy and i'd have it no other way. I think that is why I suport mc so much because the alturnative could well be no leeds and my life would be empty and probably easier with less heart ache but who would want that

we all love leeds we all love leeds.

Supporting Leeds is like being in a secret society. It needs no justification or explanation if you are in it, and you never want to leave, nor can you leave. Once it's in your blood it's there forever.
If you're on the outside - you will simply never be able to understand.
I've always been glad that my blood type is LUFC.

21 Mar 2016 21:56:50
Good question but at the same time a stupid one. It's not about the game its about being Leeds United. That's it. Nothing more. Any Leeds fan who would change alligance in those circumstances, imo, is not Leeds through and through. Me personally i'd take more interest in other hobies. Drinking and walking the dogs and maybe the wife if she would smile a bit more, which she probably would if Leeds went belly up!

I've supported Leeds for over 40 years. Throughout that time I've lived in Belfast. When asked who is my team, with pride I say the mighty whites- unfortunately that tends to give my age away as no one under 40 over here is a Leeds fan, except for those privileged to have it bestowed on them, such as my son. Leeds til I die.

Dan, we would be supporting AFC Leeds united. We would have Eddie Howe as manager and Max would never have left.

To the man (me) who once got a girl pregnant and at the time of conception bellowed out Yeboah! Don't think so. Went for blood test tother day. Doc said I weren't human because me blood were white yellow and little bit of blue. Leeds til death, reincarnation and much more!

22 Mar 2016 16:04:17
We are LEEDS!! I wouldn't want to watch any of those teams who's fans would be drinking to our demise. We are LEEDS and that is why when/if we get back to the promised land of the premiership, all the teams of those clubs who hate us, will tell us that their glad we're back, will be lying and we know it. It will make it special because we know they hate us. We have/continue to suffer, but once we are back it will belong to us and only us because WE ARE LEEDS.

love the post deda we are leeds, mind you I have to say it is different down my way. I think a lot of people genuinely think leeds should be back in prem and would be glad to see us there.

I am obviosuly based in london and my mates are all 30ish and apart from millwall fans I think most people my age liked the leeds team of the millienium and feel a bit sorry for us and would be glad to see us back. up t'norf is probably very different, sadly I think the dog botherers would miss their anual 3 points from ER.

Hahaha BW, re your post saying man utd, class pal, made me lol for real!

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Mar 2016 17:25:27
after my passionate yet ramberling post thought I might put something based on some football analsis (based on my great knowledge of the game! )

I still don't think we are that bad. A good team can have a bad day but a bad team will find it harder to have a good day. Before sat we did win three on the bounce so we are not useless as useless teams don't get 9 in 9. The manager played with team too much. I think any champ team weakening their team that much would lose against another champ team.

The base is there but squad and options are lacking. Murphy must not play for leeds he offers nothing and it is like playing with 10 men. bamba needs to go. Bell maybe with better defender is ok but i'd like to first choice cb's with cooper as back up. full backs are ok. Middle of the park is good when right players are picked in right positions. Forwards are good when ant wants to play and I think douk is good option and wood will get better. I still think our keeper saves us more points than he costs us and with proper cb's in front will be good at this level.

So for next season two centre backs, one winger maybe and one/ two strikers. That added to the team that won 3 out of three and we will be ok.

SE has to go, I have thought about it but he makes the same mistake too many times and think we can do better (realisitcly as well in peason or monk) .

So millions don't need to be spent (look at borumoth) we need to build sensible on what we have and slowly but surely get up table over years not a summer but I think with right manager and few buys we could be top ten maybe higher.

The deadwood has to go they are holding back our club.

21 Mar 2016 19:26:51
Must say, BW, I agree with just about all your analysis. The two keys are - MC agreeing, speculate to accumulate and that does not mean throwing money at the problem (not that he ever would! ) but wise investments in key positions. Certainly two football playing rocks as centrebacks. One creative midfielder with a quick brain and quicker feet.
I think, up front, we only need one quality striker. A secondary striker, I think, is already on the books.
IF we are to change the manager then this must be the most important signing and one which may cost us the most money but if done correctly will save us millions in the future; if we avoid chopping and changing (which immediately bans MC from any involvement in the decision making process)
When we get rid of the deadwood it will help but the last and maybe hardest part will be to convince MC that parting with 20/ 25 million (over 3 years) is a wise move.

21 Mar 2016 20:28:40
The main line is, unfortunately, that Steve Evans is not the manager we need to get promoted. He as done a reasonable job in keeping us out of the relegation zone (so far) but he seems more intent on telling the world all about what is happening with the team, what he has said or heard from players, blah, blah, blah.

Just shut up and get on with your job, you are a coach not a PR dummy? Why on earth would anyone want to tell all of their competitors what is going on at Leeds?

Sorry Steve, you might last till the end of the season (if you are very lucky) but messing about with a team that won 3 games on the bounce and then losing 4-1 at home to 'that team' is the end.

To further admit you know you made mistakes, both before AND during the game says all there is to be said.

Bye, (hopefully) and I do wish that wasn't so, but you are just continuing to administer your own undoing.

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Mar 2016 20:34:46
good point leodis manager is the most important signing like eddie howe at bourmouth, the new mourinio at watford and reniari at lecsitcier. I support mc more than most but agree he must not get involved. pick a guy like pearson (or whoever he picks) and back away, stop saying stuff to press and leave the team selection and training pitch well alone. if he did this I would even be happy to pay pie tax on beer (as I don't eat pies)

finally back home in my beloved South London and read the posts on here which are negitive, I do understand the frustration. I honestly think no one has more right to be P'''"ED off than me after going both Brighton and Huddesfeild and doing so much money, time and miles but I am positive.

I loved being in leeds surrounded by leeds fans in the pub, taking picutres of my little girl with kop kat, Bremner, revie ER, having her on my shoulders walking down the hill, singing with the fans, seeing her cheer and sing and I see no need to be negitive.

So we are not very good, all leeds fans over 30 have been spoilt of 55 have been really spoilt so now is not our time and we have to act like so many fans at clubs that have never been good. This is part of being a supporter, leyton orient have never had anything to cheer yet still love their club with out all the bitching and Pi'""ing like babies. No we don't have great squad, no we don't have great manager, no we have no right to be happy, but we all love leeds so should be happy and the negitivty is starting to get me down although I can see where you are coming from. As me nan says you ain't got nothing nice to say don't say. Well up for constructive criticism and debate but can we keep the doom and gloom away for the sake of our sanity. The way I see it we might be c''p for the rest of my life, I am fine with that anyone not fine with that go and support Arsenal they get champs league most years and should be ok for life. If not join the rest of the fans of the football league and realise we might be lumbered with S;;T team for life.

My little girl insisted on playing MOT on the cd pretty much all the way home, listen to the words leeds fans and hope they fill you with pride not dread. MOT.

Bermondsey

I just hope your daughter doesn't become disillusioned before she sees the Leeds United that I saw before I reached 10 years of age (so to speak) ?

I have some good memories, I won't ever not support Leeds, but it is becoming harder and harder to explain to anyone why I do so.

I know Arsenal supporters who get pretty depressed when they lose, and they don't seem to understand why the likes of us continue to support Leeds United through whatever.

Wee are Leeds till we die.

Agree0 Disagree1

21 Mar 2016 21:55:10
i have a special kind of hate for arsenal fans (not all but in general) they love giving it and 'banter' when they win but can not stand it when they lose. They are arsenal till they die when they win f. a cup yet buring kits when they get knocked out by watford. Truth is I prefer being leeds fan now we have been in league one and not doing great at the moment. Anyone can support arsenal or man utd but supporting leeds, leyton orient, bradford, huddeslfield and the other 100 lcubs like them that have never had much to cheer about, they are proper fans of proper clubs, not saying that some liverpool (or even most) of their fans and fans of club like that are not proper fans as of course they are but some fans can be glory hunters but you see someone in the white of leeds and you know they are proper as they are not in it for the glory and I quite like that in an odd way. Not sure who my daughter will follow (and it can be anyone other than arsenal or millwall but if it is leeds you know she will be a proper lass.

Well what can I say about the magical mystery tour of supporting lufc. Sometimes up sometimes down. Was out all day Saturday and when I looked at the score I had to rub my eyes. The house of cards yet again. I just can't trust that the manager has got the nounce to manage a club the size of ours or for Cellino to have the nounce to pick a manager. Players playing for the shop window is where we are at at this stage of the season. If they can be bothered. They just don't care and put in enough decent performances to earn themselves a contract at another club. So basically to consistently play well week in week out is not in their remit or their capability.
Whoever coaches/ manages us needs a load of money time to sort it all out. I don't envy such a big job I just demand it as a supporter. God help us.

Yes come home David and let's have some juicy info about GFH.

21 Mar 2016 16:50:53
no I found out while in yorkshire the MC out group are funded by GFH. They want mc out so they can buy full club and milk us. GFH don't like mc as he wants to buy players and ground and improve leeds over time which is something GFH are dead against. This explains why such a small group have so much money to waste on planes, laser pens, a electric billboard and media campgain. MC's hands are tied he has no choice but to buy them out at well over the odds (would you buy a product when the products fans abuse you and want you out) or work with them.

Easy reason George, the club owe GFH a lot of money. Cellino has no choice. If we don't get promoted soon we will be paying them off for years to come. Ed, don't know if the powers at LUFC ( that's will be celling) ever read this msg board to gauge fans mood but i'll jot a few of my thoughts down for their info just in case.

Next season with the new prem league deal there are going to be a lot of clubs thinking that this will be their 'last chance' before the difference between the haves and have nots in football grows to an unbridgeable chasm. So there will be more clubs possibly spending money they don't necessarily have.

In future clubs coming down from the prem will be so financially better off than other championship clubs that player fee inflation/ wages is going to go through the roof.

hence it is going to become an even bigger task to climb out of this league than already is the case.

What I want to know is to what extent cellino is planning for this?
I do not think we have the financial clout to do this, and without a clear statement of intent for next season ST renewals and attendances in general is going to go down, in a major way. I myself am having second thoughts, don't know if I can take another season of abject, occasioning mediocre football at best.

Beginning to think we may even be better off just having done with it and going into admin. so long bates is not involved we can clear the decks properly, may take a few years to get back but wouldn't have the huge debt milstones around our necks that are apparent come each and every transfer window when we seem to be shopping for bargain basement journeymen and "ones for the future" who rarely get a look in.

As things stand we will never go anywhere, like being in footballs no mans land.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - to be fair mate, the clubs coming down will also be hampered by a monstrously large wage bill, which will stop them being able to do much in the way of transfer business.}

21 Mar 2016 04:25:46
Ed001
Such players will surely be sold to PL clubs so no big deal for them. Certain players might dig heels in but most will crave top flight football elsewhere. I see next championship season as very tough even to break into top 10 without serious investment.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - try telling that to those clubs that have come down in the past and struggled to offload them, such as Bolton....}

21 Mar 2016 16:56:18
such as bolton and that other team. what was they called erm. Leeds. everyteam comign down will lose the good players (which their are few of (why they went down) but the deadwood/ S''T sticks and that is what harms the club. Who are villa going to sell? maybe ayue, gil perhaps. Villa are going down. Everyone keeps talking about the money making things harder but it hasn't over the last 20 years why change now. Little clubs are doing better than ever when run well with good core unit of players.
