Dom matteo is an absolute legend. He refuses to kiss backsides and really cares about the club and the fans. Remember he was the only player willing to take a pay cut when we were in the mire last time. He speaks well and speaks sense. I hope the new owners whoever they are have the Foresight to offer him a job as fans liaison. Thanks Dom your comments are appreciated

as long as we gain a majority share holding over bates then the separate party's combined in the ownership of Leeds can vote against him with unity to over power him. This will mean bates will have less of a say so that way hell be less inclined to participate in the club. so hopefully this will encourage him to bugger off. so maybe this 50% isn't so bad.

Bates is selling half of his 72% and i bet he knows them well, who own the other 28%. We will be no better off and the new guy will get sick of just him putting money in.
mot4life {Ed020's Note - he's not the richest guy around, but he's bloody powerful, so ofc he'll have a major influence on the other 28%}

lufc 72% owned by bates. er 100% owned by bates
ta 100% owned by bates
lufc mortage 2 seasons profits doing up er so in effect make a small profit pay there taxes ect but pay company er and ta rent . these rents increase because there done up year on year. money comes out offshore leaving 1 with not a lot of tax to pay. and propertys going up in value every year. thisworks a treat as long as lufc plod along and fans keep turning up and the money flowing

I really hope you enjoy the game against Florist mate, and of course that we win, but please don't have a go at all of us that witness all the defeats last season and the going thru the despondancy again this season already.... Have a good 'un!

Well I may not get to the games every week but I go numerous times throughout the year, as much as I can with the cost of flights an all that. But don't think I don't take a defeat as hard as a fan who's present at the ground. I love Leeds, and like the rest of the fans of our great club, a loss has me in bad form for days

Please remember he left Leeds for family reasons, it's entirely possible he no longer feels he needs to be in France anymore and wants to return to the club he enjoyed playing for.
If this is his Official twitter you can see he has always shown affection for our club and left for the right reasons.
I for one would welcome him back with open arms, even though I was calling for his head when he was sent off on our special day.

Just a quick one instead of all the doom and gloom... who would you like to see being brought in Jan if teh t/o goes through?
I would like a pacy striker, a skillful/pacy winger and a advanced played in Mid.

Ken Bates is really only a little boy who hasn't grown up. Much in the same way he runs our beloved LUFC, I was once the Chairman of an ailing Subbuteo team. Each week when my pocket money arrived all I was interested in was developing my beautiful stadium which was the envy of all my school mates. I couldn't afford fans (morons) to sit in my stadium and balls to the team. As long as I could field 11 players, I was happy... My goal keeper only had one arm, my centre forward leaned to the side as was glued back on to his stump too many times and my midfield playmaker's head had been chewed by the family dog. We soon got relegated from The Castle Terrace under 10's premier league and I lost interest... administration and liquidation soon followed (at a car boot sale).
Years later I realised that if I'd only spent a bit more money on my team, I could have dominated the Subbuteo world of football for years to come and bask in the glory of winning the coveted Golden Egg Cup time after time....to be honest 30 years later, it still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth!
Notice the similarity here Ken?.... grow up! {Ed020's Note - hahaha we've all been there as kids}

I don't want to disagree with the negative posters as it seems to make them happy. And I like people to be happy! However, the people that are saying due dilligence will have to start again, the information if I'm reading correctly, was that an individual who was part of the consortium appears to have gone solo. Therefore if he was satisfied with the first round of due dilligence ( which by the way will have cost a fortune) he won't want or need another round of expensive DD. The whole reason why he apparently has brke away, is he wants this done sooner rather than later.
But feel free to shoot me down, as I know this makes you happy. Have a nice day.

I think im right in believing the saudi(who has broken away from the original t.o)Tried to do a similiar thing to purchase shares in Liverpool!But they wanted a complete t.o!not staggered!KEA

Once due diligence is done, it doesn't need doing again, no matter who wants to buy (Obviously within a specific time frame.).
Agree1
Disagree1
To the above post, due diligence will need to be completed again... however it wont take all that long to complete, due to LUFC having there books in order from the last set... there is the positive that it wont drag on for a month this time

heres a question for you moaners about investment from Bates
why would he invest if he is leaving?
that would be like me having a million pound house, agreeing to sell it, then putting a new swimming pool, hi-tech games room and music room and buying a bugatti veyron for the new owners of the house
Believable13

Or a bit like not ( allegedly ) owning a football stadium but still spending millions on it??
