I heard through grapevine that bubs delivered a fairly heavy tongue -lashing to Radz about state of pitch, hence the very swift response trying to remedy the surface

Why have we still struggled for so long with surface? Brighton game was embarrassment to see state of pitch.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

22 Jan 2021 19:21:08
Sounds very plausible indeed that Bielsa would do so as tbe pitch was seemingly becoming a considerable hindrance to Leeds players Bielsaball.
I guess Radz would have been more than happy to oblige, £300 K a modest enough outlay on something so important as EPL points accumulation.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jan 2021 13:14:58
I know others have said “well Brighton didn’t struggle”. but the fact is that for Bielsaball to work, we need a good surface, simple. That pitch was an utter disgrace for a PL club. Really pleased Radz has yet again invested for the well being of the team and club!

Actually even Potter said the pitch was 'heavy and hard to play on.

Hi guys, not football related sorry. So today I get the dreaded news that I've got a positive c.v. result, only got a slight dry throat but generally feeling ok. wondering how many of you been through it?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

22 Jan 2021 18:44:30
Had cv the beginning of last March after returning from Lake Como in Lombardy Italy.
Ended up in hospital, it was a bizarre experience and not one I’d want to repeat.
It started with fever then coughing, pain in
lungs and intense fatigue. Lasted for about 6 weeks.
Don’t worry Mezz, most folks have mild symptoms, if you start with fever then intense fatigue at the beginning you may be in for a rough ride, but I’ve heard so many variations it’s hard to tell.
Best of luck mate, I’m sure you’ll be fine, just concentrate on Leeds thrashing Newcastle 5-0

Me 3, I had it back in October, high fever for about 3 days then sore throat, about 5 days I'm I became very chesty, that spooked me a little as I was thinking here it goes down into my lungs, but it passed, I had no taste it smell for about 4 weeks after which was head melting, hope you be ok pal 👍👍👍.

Cheers fellas, been supporting people in the community since this c.v. first started so I guess was only a matter of time until I got it. More annoyed that since starting this job this will be the first days sick I've had to take in 9 years.

22 Jan 2021 19:24:09
Sorry to hear that Mezzer, and for the other guys that have been through it, silly to assume the size of the group on here that people wouldn’t be affected.

All the best Mezzer hope things go as well as they can in these situations and as OP said a positive run of results provides a much needed tonic.

I had c.v. in March last year. Best flu I ever had. Better even than a cold. 99% of people recover, but sadly, like the flu, a few will die. You'll be around to see Leeds win the Champions League. Good luck.

Still so many pundits and media personnel claiming that the Leeds players will hit a burnout period in the second half of this season due to the high intensity pressing.
Leeds went through a 46 game season before with no burnout, ok there was a pause due to c.v. as Ms. Carney and others have highlighted, but I have listened to interviews with Ayling and Bamford both denying they or the squad suffered from excessive fatigue.
I think Bielsa had some problems with players suffering from excessive fatigue at Lille and Marseille, i imagine this was more to do with the French players not wanting to push themselves too far with the heavy training regimes. Lazy gets!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

22 Jan 2021 19:30:02
The best answer to these 'pundits ' nonsense will be for the lads to prove it on the pitch.

I don't think there will be any burnout at all from the Leeds players.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Jan 2021 08:49:52
We didn't lose the playoffs two years ago due to burnout, it was silly errors and nerves that did it. Up to that final half we matched everyone stride for stride.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jan 2021 09:42:22
Exactly Alf, that burn out stuff was rubbish! One bad night at the end! Unfortunately no second chance at that stage!
Also I have a slightly different theory atm, not sure if anyone agrees? I believe that the players are missing the intensity of matches compared to the previous 2 seasons!
Especially after a defeat having to dwell on it for 7 to 10 days is not great! I don’t even think Klich has been tired.
I think a dip in form, definitely, but not tired! Their bodies are probably benefiting from less games but not necessarily form and rhythm! Just a theory 🤔.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jan 2021 13:17:54
No burnout problems. More media tosh.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jan 2021 14:29:40
Its only 3 games. Spurs i wouldn't have thought we would beat anyway, Crawley was more like a friendly so doesn't count and Brighton we played badly and had a carp pitch so out of the 3 I would have expected to do better against Brighton but can't win em all so not sure what the fuss is about really.

Liverpool v Burnley - A Liverpool Perspective

22 Jan 2021 15:29:52
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Liverpool v Burnley - A Liverpool Perspective

Believable0 Unbelievable0

22 Jan 2021 18:05:51
Good summary Ed001 strange to see Liverpool struggling even stranger to hear fans criticism after 67 odd games unbeaten at home. Seems to be lit more immediacy with fans looking for someone to criticise or a designated scapegoat these days.

Do you think it’s a blip or something moreEd and please, if you’re not using James Milner can we borrow him please?

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - looks to be just a blip, too many changes due to the injuries meaning the team hasn't been settled, unlike last season. I hope we come good, but these things can become more if they are not arrested!

Millie still plays regularly, this season he is not getting as much time simply because the games come so thick and fast and he needs more time to recover than before. Plus he has had injuries which have meant the club are being careful with him. I always thought he would return to Leeds, he has always said he would like to.}

22 Jan 2021 19:17:45
Thanks Ed be great to have Millie wear the shirt again before he stops playing.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I think it would be a nice story for him to return, so long as he is still capable of contributing when he does!}

Remember Fergus 90 min from sack. Then bam!

True. Man U need something to sap their confidence or I fear the worst. What a difference a couple of months makes - it was all Ole out in Oct.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 16:47:04
Man U are in a good position but their performances I believe are not that great.
Only half way through the season, still think it’s Liverpool or Man City for the title, would be Liverpool’s already if they weren’t ravaged by injuries They definitely need Jota back, good goal source.

22 Jan 2021 20:55:53
Performances have been bang average, very lucky with some results, very lucky with injuries, and as for the penalties say no more.

Bit more news on the goings on at ER. We have been ordered by the PL to put down AstroTurf on the steps that away teams use to get to the pitch from the temporary dressing room.

For the pitch, A 300k investment has been made on a hybrid turf system called 'HTPro', a hybrid carpet reinforced turf system, produced as a partnership between Tillers Turf and Hewitt Sportsturf, who say the surface is an 'extreme high quality cultivated carpet-based turf, nursery grown on specially prepared nursery field plots designed to provide the best growing conditions. '

Believable1 Unbelievable0

22 Jan 2021 11:15:35
Blimey Alf, do you have shares in Tillers turf?

Or are you now rivalling or ER-Bard (Bermo) for the verbosity of your postings?

Either way I have called my stockbroker to buy up all the remaining shares in that company (investments can go down as well as up) .

Agree2 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 11:38:29
In my humble opinion this might just be the best investment we will make in January!
I know people will say it’s the same for both sides but I really think the pitch has had massive drain on our confidence in recent weeks!
In the Brighton game so many passes either over hit or behind the player! Bamford said the players were moaning after the game and these things soon start to affect confidence!
Hopefully get a decent surface down and let’s start pinging it around again!

22 Jan 2021 12:26:42
They’ve missed an opportunity here not selling off the old one, imagine turfing a patch of your garden with some of that hallowed turf.

I copied and pasted it from elsewhere!

I totally agree. The pitch has been causing us major problems which is one reason why we are doing either away from home than at home I think so should make a massive difference. Yes its the same for both teams but some teams don't play it on the deck and so it doesn't make much difference them but makes a huge difference to us and Bielsaball.

I do think it's crazy at least not try to loan some bench competition. Even without a to buy clause.
We could really do with a loan for cm or striker. Just for last 30 min of a game if need be.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

22 Jan 2021 07:39:55
Maybe we just can't afford the wages?
Plus if its someone that is available to buy in summer and they do really well wouldn't that just increase the price and the competition?

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 09:48:55
Maybe nobody was expecting match sales to be missing for so long.

France supposedly having a fire sale of players due to c.v. and french tv money dropping but I don’t see many buying clubs at the moment anywhere round the world.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 09:56:06
It’s an interesting one isn’t it, I believe every one of us on here would not say no to the loan signing at least.

Aside from the fact that January window is supposedly of poor value, quality, but for those teams outside the top six it’s that what if scenario isn’t it, if you do nothing and are subsequently relegated the impact far exceeds any monies spent in the window.

It’s stick or twist time, Palace have twist with £3.5 million loan fee with option to buy on their new striker.

I agree it should be a CM or CF but only if they’re going to add goals.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 10:56:54
CM doesn't necessarily have to add goals directly for me, being able to control the midfield more effectively will allow others to score and make chances whereas we are overrun too frequently in there at the moment for me.

22 Jan 2021 11:11:57
As a left field option. is Milner getting much game time at Liverpool these days?

(Its not a rhetorical question, I don't know, I having been watching them avidly, I just know they had 2 centre backs out the other day and used 2 central midfielder in their place and still no Milner in the midfield.

Even if we paid his wages just for 20 weeks wouldn't we be ensuring the central midfield area has decent completion.
The reason I mention the old chestnut of Milner is because he was Bielsa-fit before most of us knew who Bielsa was, and he consistently outperforms his Liverpool colleagues in fitness test even now.

I realise that many on here will see it as a backward step but I just want us to secure our future in the PL and I think we can all agree that this 35yo won't be coming to Elland Road for a last pension pot, this guy will increase the determination and hopefully inspire those around him.

Milner and Henandez, destroying the youngster in training. can you not envision how hard those youngsters are going to work to beat the 'old guys'.

You think he has no heart?

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 14:40:55
Yeah Aus I do
Be amazed if he doesn't see out the remainder of his contract; no other club is going to pay him anywhere near this figure tol then

'Best offer buys him' . so there would be a transfer fee as well . dream on fellow.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 17:44:20
BV. it was only a pipe dream

20 weeks at £120,000, not £140,000 as you stated, makes it £2.4m. To give us a greater level of insurance against relegation, and the chance to amass another £170m of Premiership money, I thought the finances worked out ok. But I bow to a superior mind than mine.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 19:44:55
Yes it sounds good in theory Axe.
Total outlay may approach £ 5 million as there would probably be a loan fee of £1.5 to £2 million to pay too as I doubt that Liverpool would ever loan him for free.
According to all the websites I perused Milner is on £7.28 million £140 000 a week.
Worth a punt but he is on Liverpool's subs bench, playing occasionally.

As I said though can't see it happening : a ' pipedream' indeed.
