Now it's all over and we go up as league champions into the PL, who feels kinda weird? Like you lost small part of your soul? Like it's top anticlimactic especially since we couldn't attend run in? I got used to the bitterness, the bad luck, the injuries and being in the second division. Not quite sure how to feel about life now. It's no longer the hope but the success which kills.

It is strange George, but dam good after 16 years of more ups than downs. What a way to finish as well. A week or so ago we were a point in front and we have finished 10 clear. Then, we were saying about Brentford's goal difference being so much better, and now we have equaled it. What a way for it to finish, not usually the Leeds United way, but absolutely brilliant. Well done to all concerned, you have made the Fans so happy. We can all really enjoy the short close season with so much to look forward to. UTW!

It does feel weird - not helped by the fact fans couldn’t be there. We’ve spent all this time wanting to free ourselves from the clutches of jealousy, historical dislike and vested interests - but the grief we’ve had these last few years has been almost enjoyable in a sort of sadomasochistic way. Not sure we know anything other than being jeered - not cheered. But I’d rather be where we are than where Brentford are right now. And look at that trophy. What a beauty.

Only the 4th time in 100 years that a Leeds captain has held it. Hold that moment, as 2019/ 20 is engraved onto the list of this fabulous club’s achievements. And George, next year might not be the picnic some people are predicting! I think we’ll do alright - but it will be tough. And we also have to face Lampard and his pundit pals again. That’ll be nice.

Yeah. Very strange.
Would have felt better winning it on the pitch in front of a crowd. Bit anticlimactic.
Full marks to lads for keeping going and trying to the end.
10 points clear. All that worry about a collapse after lock down.
And it was others that collapsed. Not us.

Agree2 Disagree0

23 Jul 2020 09:21:56
Yes, incredible that it turned out to be Brentford who couldn't handle the pressure and choked at the end. Just goes to show sometimes that the pursuit, with no pressure and nothing to lose, is much easier than when you have caught up. To go on the run Brentford did and then lose to the two teams they did is unbelievable. Loking at the last 2 games when the pressure was off us we played some superb stuff and finally look the part. Fantastic to see another Leeds Championship in my lifetime and hope we can see more trophies in the future.

does seem surreal and not sunk in yet, thik prem fixtures will sink in more then of course first day of the season
16 years is a very long time coming but looks like a new dawn is ahead.

Only the Addicks but what a hit by Ben White Matters, what a slide pass by Pablo the way he straigtened up his body to find the angle, Stuarty nice finish, that's how you take a corner KP, decent header Tyler the Creator and Struik what a pass and Poveda you got some pace but Baby Shack me and Canada loved you from the beginning.

That we did George.
Saw the highlights and trophy presentation live when I got home from work (someone has to make the beer! ) .
Some good goals, but that pass from Struijk, wow just wow.

yeah i agree george i loved shacks from his first game i saw him in. every thing i like in a midfeilder, another one who not mentioned as much is bogatuz who could be special as well

seems that victor orta wasnt that bad after all. have to be an orical to of believed in him from the start and always of backed him.

So ironic that it was Charlton beating us in 2004 that sent us down to Div 1.

You can clearly see the divide of the way we play now and it’s effectiveness compared to any Championship team. We are without doubt, ready for the Premier league.
Loved BW excellent goal but Pablo’s precision nutmeg assist to Dallas was from another dimension.

Momentum is with Baadiff and Swans. Bees well and truly bottled it at the end and Fulham have been stuttering since the return. Wouldn't be totally surprised to see an all Welsh final. That could have been carnage around Wembley if fans were not excluded.

Agent Odour really did us proud tonight.

Florists really fell apart! these last few weeks - can't see Lamouchi keeping his job. Some extraordinary selection decisions, including resting key players at home against Charlton, leading to 1-0 loss, have really cost them.

we were great tonight. yet again Struijk, podvaka and shacks showing real class. if phillips don't get fit over pre-season and i can't see him getting back in the team as shacks and striuck will not give there shirts up eaisliy

great pace, great direct penertaition. showing we can beat poor teams like charlton when we go at them. really loved the performance tonight turn around from them beating us is amazing

well done to the lad invovled made us all vry proud as we ended up walking a very very hard league. credit where it is due mot.

Lovely feeling just sitting here, last match of the season, going up a Champions, nothing to stress about with tonights fixture except looking for a win and Bermo please note I believe this is the highest points total we have ever achieved in a season.
So Sir Marco please take a bow you must be doing something right, promoted champs with games to spare, would have taken that at the start of the season.
In not so many words Bielsa's states, our weakness is we need so many chances to score our goals, we are no clinical enough (if we could have converted more of the chances we could have been up before the lockdown)

Believable1 Unbelievable0

22 Jul 2020 18:28:31

With Bielsa being so complimentary about Bera, including saying he has on occasion asked for his thoughts, and has valued them, maybe he's thinking of offering him a coaching role.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

22 Jul 2020 16:27:26
Cluey Swiss Army Knife strikes me as being quite studious about the game. If CC goes, I have no objection seeing Bera as replacement. This is the beautiful thing Radz has created by hiring Bielsa. Our players are using their brains and in time can become his apprentices and disciples.

Is Benrahma a striker?

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jul 2020 22:35:37
Would love Benrahma, he played more on wing and scored loads. He is a very creative player, Him on wing and a quality striker next to, would be exciting.
Bamford, a nice guy and has worked hard for us but need an upgrade, yes he scored 16 but Watkins and mitrovic on 26.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jul 2020 15:18:56
I certainly have my doubts about this Cavani runmour however Realistically we won't b signing 6 or 7 players like I've seen a lot of people calling for . We absolutely need a CB, either resign white or if not then someone else is needed and certainly a striker . I'm sure the likes of Hosannah, mcalmont, edmunson, bogusz, strujk will come through . bielsa will stick with the squad and be loyal I imagine to the team that got promoted .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

22 Jul 2020 15:10:18
Listened to Phil Hay and he said Leeds might be in for 'top end Championship players'. Reading into this a few players I think would add to our squad in the right places;

Said Benrahma (subject to Brentford failing to earn promotion) starting to be linked with him too. Was reading rumour of 23.4m

Matty Cash (ditto Forest situ) Not heard us massively into him unusually but can play CM, RB and RM all rather well and only 22, fits nicely with Bielsa demands of rotating players across positions.

Chris Mepham (bournemouth if relegated) rather good on the ball and a good CB. Always felt Bournemouth struggles can be linked to his injuries to a degree. Him + White would be too much unfortunately but Mepham would be who i'd turn to next if we can't do White)

Kristoffer Ajer (Celtic) not Championship but he's been doing really well and can play CB or slightly further forward. (Similar to Mepham don't think we could do 2 from White/ Mepham/ Ajer much as I'd want to) .

New keeper if we can move Casilla (in addition to Meslier) Admittedly the one spot missing from this list is a new striker, maybe just maybe Watkins but not enough to include him on this list. I just don't feel that Championship has a ready made striker in the mould we'd want (don't think Mitrovic would fit) . Callum Wilson/ Troy Deeney both potentially relegated but big money and both have big injury question marks.

I say its always fun to look at this but in general (Casilla and Augustin aside) think Victor and Angus have done a good job with player recruitment so even if they didn't get any of the players listed above would trust them to get the right players.

Nearly added Thiago Almada/ Todd Cantwell in CAM to help Hernandez but that would just be too optimistic.

i wondered everyone's thoughts on the qsi take out which of course has come out again

not sure if true but rads has said he won't sell. Personally i think rads has done an ok job i do think last jan was a window missed and should of gone up last year but we are there now

rads is skint and even when told to invest by efl he said he wont. It is rads choice and well done to him to get us this far but if the qsi take over is true I think rads owes it to the fans and the city to walk away and get us at the top table of football.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

22 Jul 2020 11:34:51
Bermo, I have a slightly different view. I too think Radz has done a good job, within his limitations. He is a business man and having no affection for the club chose us amongst a raft of other possibles. Now he has felt the love for this great club and travelling on the rocketship he has gained an affinity to the club and the supporters but as I said, he is a business man, and having pumped his money into the club, as a gamble, that has paid off and has worked tirelessly for it's success, if he walks a way it will be at a time of his choosing. Not with a feeling of owing anything to anybody. He would leave a team, a staff, a city he loves but to a businessman he will know the time to reap the greatest profit and leave his love in more capable hands. If he stays I will not be unhappy, but with his lack of funds, any purchase will come with a "one in one out" proviso and/ or shackled with interest on loans whereas we probably need at this time an owner with exceptionally deep pockets. One who can fund expansion, new recruits from his own resources. Not that I advocate splashing the cash but the ability to get who we want without breaking our bank. The ability to upgrade the ground as per Prem requirements and still buy our 4/ 5 needed without any sleepless nights. If he does go at this or any other time he cannot but leave with all our love and affection for the great job he has done.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jul 2020 14:42:12
Berm Your post is demented. Radz has done a terrific job and has learned a lot about the game in his tenure. Money doesn't guarantee success. I prefer stability for one season then a push just as Radz has planned. Him walking away could upset Bub and we wouldn't want to do that. Furthermore, an excessive influx and spending of money would be disloyal as well as counterproductive to the nurturing environment the youth are part of. Stick to worshipping John "lost it in the lights" Lukic.

Agree3 Disagree0

22 Jul 2020 15:17:32
Rads got the job done and deserves all the gratitude he receives. Would he have got there without Bielsa, I don't think so, because the other blueprints required loads more money to be invested in players.
If he does want to cash in, now is a good time because if we don't do well in our first 8 or 10 games it will affect the value of the club.
Rads has to decide how long he wants to be involved or when he wants to cash in/ get out
If he waits and we are relegated he has another one, two or three seasons to get back up.
Prime time to cash in is now to avoid the risk of the sale value of the club going down.
To wait is a gamble, but three years time as a champions league team the value of the club goes up even more.
I think he will know all the scenarios and will not over invest this time so if we do struggle he will have funds and we'll be well placed to get back up.
There are a load of different scenarios at play, he most likely wants to invest sensible, avoid a relegation dog fight and build over the next two seasons to try and challenge as a top 4/ 6 team. The club would then be at its most valuable for sale purposes. Don't think he has the funds to do any better.

What do we think of Rads comments on signing Cavani? I wonder if wages would be a problem? I guess he would be a Bielsa type of player? I reckon he could do a job in the premier league for a couple of years!
Maybe get Messi to replace Pabs 😂.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

22 Jul 2020 09:11:04
I don’t think Cavani would consider coming to Leeds, in fairness I think it’s Radz talking up big names coming to Elland Rd to get the rumor mill turning about Leeds Utd being a big club again, so to interest potential new targets.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Jul 2020 13:19:37
DSW and OP Cavani is pure class and would make us ruthless executioners for a season or two. Don't think it's PR talk. Hope we go for him. Would be a signing of Pablo proportions and I mean both Hernandez and Picasso especially either or both.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Jul 2020 14:44:10
I secretly hope it’s true George, having Cavani in our team for the Premiership would be massive, but sadly so are his wage demands which I believe are about 12 Mil a year with PSG. I know he’s a free agent but do you really think Radz would pay this kind of salary for one player?
Im pretty sure he’ll be heading to Spain, perhaps Athletico Madrid?

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jul 2020 16:22:13
OP Once he meets Vic and gets tour of city, he'll fall in love and only demand quarter of that wage. Can't anyone survive on £60k a week anymore? Money goes further in Leeds too. Offer him a chance to meet Emma. Just get him.
