Well, that was an anticlimax wasn't it? Difficult to go to Cardiff and get a result at the best of times, particularly after a 4 hr drive that morning and rusty having not played competitively for months. I do still think a warm up game would have been beneficial but maybe that would have cost money or something.

You sure of that Alf? because I could have swore they said bielsa got a hotel for team to stay in Saturday night, hence no drive to do Sunday morning.

Ya just checked online afie, Leeds definitely stayed in Cardiff Saturday night, so no travel tiredness pre-match.

They should all donate there wages this week to charity after that performance.

Why! I thought we played very well, It was very disappointing but we can’t win every game, a couple mistakes their goalie has his best game of the season. The players will feel bad about that game but I thought we were unlucky. You’ll see a positive result against Fulham I certain of it. 😉.

We would have struggled converting water to ice in a deep freeze yesterday Opti pessi.

Disappointed with performance and had great chance to increase lead.
Firstly positives of which not many.
1- Dallas good and can do a job on both sides called upon.
2- Poveda, looks decent and wants to take on players and decent crosses, think I would start him over Costa next game.
Negatives- maybe rustiness but not our usual clinical passing or attacking. Didn't look like scoring, sorry but bamford is not good enough and known that for a long time. But unfortunately don't have any other option, terrible Jan transfer again to blame. Don't think it will happen but get edmudson in squad, need someone who can possibly head ball on goal
Think our players passing off, Phillips who has been amazing this season, too casual but can forgive as been emense. So too cooper, they pressured him and mistakes made like old times, let's hope beilsa has them on point come Saturday.
Lucky other results went our way and not too damaging, need to beat Fulham next and hope bees v brom draw?

Well that was a pretty poor showing to be fair. Thought we would struggle a bit against their style but sadly we were poor up top again. Played keep ball again with no penetration.

Think we still going up but need two good strikers and a good number 10 to hold our own in PL, not to mention CB. Keep trying to find positives in Bamford but soz i can't find any, had high hopes when he came as well.
Beat Fulham and it will pick the lads up no end. One game less to play still same gap, so still the ones to catch. MOT.

I've always backed Bamford, bige, but not any more. I was hoping the lack of crowd might take the pressure off him a bit, but it didn't seem to make any difference. Let's hope Orta can unearth a gem on the cheap if we go up, as I can't see us spending a fortune, unless we do get taken over?

22 Jun 2020 13:35:11
Orta couldn't unearth a gem in a diamond mine.

Don’t slate the team slate Radz, how anyone can only have one striker in a club is mad.

Alf and Whiteman indeed. absolutely spot on .

Good summary that, BIGE!

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2020 19:17:36
Whiteman maybe because Edmonson and JKA are injured, we could have 10 strikers but no good if 9 are injured. It’s ok saying go buy one but if teams won’t sell then what you going to do? Getting a prem quality striker in January is near on impossible and no one knew JKA was more brittle than Darren anderton.

Taddy the proper recruitment of proven goalscorers ( plural) should have been done last summer . they never replaced Roofe and his goals and assists with the same or better. Eddie on loan was never the answer.

Bazooka spot on there, can’t be that hard to find other clubs didn’t have the same problem.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2020 08:36:39
They get paid handsomely so I don’t buy Thais lay off the players crap. If at work your performance wasn’t good enough then what would happen?

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Jun 2020 08:39:41
Baz proven goal scorers are few and far between we could fill up with strikers to appease fans but it wouldn’t be long before the fans started on the chairman for wasting money on crap, we are second in league and 7 points above 3rd so stop the panicking already.

Taddy

Norwich found top scorer Pukki easily enough for a very reasonable fee and he was the main reason they ended up Champions ; Brentford have an excellent scouting system etc, Sheff Utd signed not one but two strikers in Jan window to achieve promotion at Leeds. expense .

I would rather have had two stiker signings last summer to ' appease fans'so we would not have to rely solely on Bamford with incredulously now not even a replacement striker option on the bench.

Hoping for much better against Fulham.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2020 11:07:52
That’s because he was terrible at Celtic and they couldn’t wait to get shut of him, it was more luck than judgement that he fitted into there style. I read a interview with pukki who in his own words said he had to pull his finger out and knuckle down because he saw his career dwindling if he didn’t. At the end of the day they get paid (well) to execute what the manager asks them to do so in my opinion and it is only my opinion the buck stops with the players on the pitch. We need another motivational speech from bielsa to fire them up like he did before lockdown and we went on a five game run. MOT.

Agree Taddy about the motivational speech needed again from Bielsa.

Still don’t blame the players, had we had a good striker out there we would have won simple really, don’t understand posting crap that we played bad, we had most of the possession, Point really is management did replace striker after selling one, well not one fit to play that’s facts are simple.

23 Jun 2020 20:11:00
And the final ball was top class eh whitey?

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2020 22:29:17
I know we should be positive but really 10 point ahead with 21 play for and we were home and hosed simple as that really win next week and we are there.

22 Jun 2020 09:18:04
But Wex with ridiculously only ONE striker in Bamford in a first team squad

( or possibly two strikers if one dubiously includes Roberts as a striker ( with neither Bamford or Roberts prolific; instead both misfiring )

. as such Leeds still would have NOT been 'home and hosed' had they beaten Cardiff not least because I expect Brentford with a comparatively easy fixture list to win a lot of their remaining games

Prediction. which I really hope I am proved completely wrong : Brentford will be this years Sheff Utd and finish 2nd Leeds will finish 3rd

This season 2019/ 20 will end up being a Deja vu season of 2018/ 19 season including botched transfer windows by Orta and Radz again.

Admire all on here that are confident (given our recent history) that we will make the premiership this season. Anyone deluded enough to think it's a formality need to stop drinking with Foreshaw. Lots of hard work needed and yesterday's effort won't cut it. Those 7 points lead can quickly vanish and if any team can blow up it will be us. Maybe yesterday's game will be a lesson to all at leeds and hopefully have the effect of focusing some. Still in our hands, let's have a change of fortune please.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Jun 2020 11:38:42
Agreed Mezzer .

it is also perplexing that a club like Brentford can have 3 potent attacking players but Orta Radz and even Bielsa throughout 2 seasons appear unable to solve the vital Leeds goalscoring problem by signing the proven fit goalscorers to play in our system . not even one.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2020 13:29:06
If JKA is out for the season as it probably seems, it does question the recruiting of unfit players. As for Forshaw's comments last week, it just gives the opposition something to get fired up about.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2020 13:46:22
Ya it's a strange scenario bazooks, you would think a south American would have a higher impetus on scoring goals, surely he is not still under the impression that Bamford is going to turn into a top goal scorer is he? There can be no argument anymore Bamford is not +never will be a no 9.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2020 14:01:30
Yep indeed Chris. and having only a small number of forwards (none of whom are really effective at scoring goals) . bamford, possibly Tyler at a push, JKA never fit is just plain foolhardy to put it mildly.

Big Kev getting injured is a huge loss!
Orta and Radz are not to blame for his injury. He passed the medical. That’s all they can do!

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2020 17:51:51
Brighty . did Big Kev really pass the medical and if so with flying colours.? . he had been injured hadn't played for ages was nowhere near match fit and overweight
This is not how you should sign players

It is sensible to have 4 strikers required in a first team squad not one or two.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2020 21:11:37
Brights, there was a lot of questions by a good few lads on here questioning the logic of signing a maybe player whilst his goal tally was poor, and he was overweight. For a team pushing promotion to gamble on a nobody scoring goals was ridiculously naive . Having said that we are where we are, and still Bamford misses 😂.
