So here’s a question for you all, there are quite a few posts regarding Siaz being sold, but after reading these posts and thinking about Siaz, the question for me is, where would he go and what type of team would want him? IMO I really can’t see him cutting it in The Premiership, I don’t know why and it is just my opinion, so what team or league would you think he would go to?

We need funds. If radz has got them then keep him. If he hasn't and can't find investors then we need to sell either pint or saiz or both to raise funds. I think saiz is our best player and does well ( apart from last few games ) in a very bad team. He is always looking to attack and create. He sticks out like a sore thumb most games. Better players need to be put in to help him. I think he would survive in prem. i'd rather sell pont to be honest. Defenders are easier to replace than good attacking mids.

Would we get any money if Danny rose left Tottenham, do we have a sell on clause ?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you don't need a sell-on clause, all the teams that he spent time at as a youngster get a share of 5% of any transfer fee.}

Definitely keep Saiz, get a decent attack around him who know how he plays and that'll be magical to watch.

In a recent interview on Radio Leeds Hecky said that he cannot get Leeds to play like Cardiff? Well forgive me but why then can't he just get them playing like the Leeds that went unbeaten to the top of the league and did it playing attractive football. Is that too much to ask. You might as well say you can't get them playing like Barcelona either.

I think he was talking about the physicality of Cardiff. aren't they all over 6ft across the park? So that's a different style of play, one that can press for 90 mins, and win the physical battles against us. As for the Leeds that were top of the league, even the guy who did it, couldn't retain it! ? I think we just got found out tactically.

Agreed bright. Such a mystery to this day how we outplayed teams by so much at the start of the season to then change to playing how we do now.

He's hardly been "banging 'em in at Grimsby" to be honest. I know he's a Leeds lad and his family history but let's be honest about him.

Not sure about the notion that we must give Hernadez a contract extension. True, he is one of the few players in the squad with genuine quality. However, he only shows his quality for parts of games and does go missing from time to time. He has always done it which was a regular criticism of him when he was in the premiership. Now, adding to that, he is getting older and the championship is a bit more physical than the premiership. I am not sure how long pendulum between his quality on the one side and his slowing down and his AWOL time on the other, will continue to work in his favour. One day soon he is not going to be worth it. He is a bit of a luxury now it could get worse.

i would certainly have him but at a reduction on his current wage maybe try and convince to take player/coach role? he won't be a starter and his age/injury record means we can't give him much but i'd love him to stay

Pablo has been great in the main this season, and last week was battling back! ? But there are many valid points above, and I'm stuck on the feckin fence again! He's been great, but how long will he keep delivering. who knows? And that's the difficulty with contract negotiations.

I think it’s about time the management become ruthless, no passengers, no over the hill, no more loans unless desperate, no more that don’t want to play for that shirt and please no more Orta buys! It’s time to move forward or we are just going to be a mid table team! Is Hernandez a game changer? IMO yes, can he play 90 mins, IMO no, it’s a tough call but like I said no time sentiment!

23 Mar 2018 03:49:20
He is an option to start or come off the bench as good as most in the league. Not 90 min player but quality bit part. No sense in selling him. He has plenty to offer still.

Hecky has to play the young lads in the remaining fixtures to see what they are really made of. No end of meaningless U23 games will ever equal a run out for the first team and the pressures that brings with it. Some thrive, some wilt. Find out now Mr Hecky. Unearth a gem. Save the club millions and build a team we can all enjoy for many years to come. PS and keep yourself in longterm employment

Strongest overall leeds team at the start of next season IMO: BPF, Coyle, Ayling, Jansson, Bera, Klich, Forshaw, Saiz, Dallas, Grot, Alioski. This is on the basis that hernandez doesn't sign, because as it stands he hasn't and we won't have him next year, however, if he does, swap him for alioski. i'd like to see wied, lonergan, cooper, de bock, anita, okane, sacko, cibicki, saiz, roofe, all leave leeds. they're not good enough to make it to the prem so send them back away abroad somewhere i don't care where, just need good quality in our ranks now. only exception is saiz, hwo i think would be better off being sold, don't see him being positive with leeds for some reason, see another injury or suspension coming his way early doors, just after the window shuts, and leeds having not enough back up. Get him out and sign the following: ward, bartley, haidara, goncalves, 1 experienced goalscorer, 1 like marriott, oztumer, and dack. Then imo your best team would be: ward, ayling, bartley, jansson, haidara, forshaw, klich, goncalves, hernandez, oztumer, marriott subs: BPF, coyle, pearce, vieira, dack, grot, dallas. not sure where this leaves alioski, phillips, ekuban etc and its all very hypothetical, but to me they've killed this season, so they may as well start preparations for next and get it right and the second time of asking. whoever plays for leeds, no 1 man is bigger or better than the club, saiz is a good player, but he's made out to be better than he is due to the lack of good players we've had in an attacking aspect in recent years. the last attacker that got as much praise as him was probably mccormack.

A bit of light the blue touchpaper there Samo. Sell Saiz, really? Well okay then if you want to be radical. How about, sell Pontus? The thinking there is that we potentially have 5 Centrebacks, O'Connor, Struijk, Shaugnessy Rey (orig position was CB) and Ayling all vying for a first team spot. That's without looking at incomers. If we can get bug bucks for Pontus it would leave us free to fill a gap elsewhere. As you say Samo this is hypothetical and to a certain extent dependent on playing some of the young guns at the end of this season, see what they're like. PS I like Samu, so the only way I would countenance his sale is again big big bucks. He sees things others are sometimes not skillful enough to capitalise on. Get a forward with vision and a good first touch and he/we will be away.

Agree2 Disagree0

22 Mar 2018 11:12:30
Saiz is one of our very few good players. Cannot help but worry that if we lose them, we may well not also be able to offload the driftwood who are on long term contracts and end up buying players, who may or may not work out, to replace our good stuff, leaving us with an even cr@pper team than we have now. I hope that we keep the wheat and work out a way to get some poor fools at other teams to pay for our chaff. That said, I wonder how many other teams would have an Orta running the rule over our for sale players. On another note, as someone on here mentioned recently, amazing how much of our chaff becomes someone else's wheat. Not making the most of what we have got by al bloody long way.

Agree2 Disagree0

22 Mar 2018 12:38:14
Some good points to consider! I think most of us would agree Pontus and Siaz are our best players. For me the hellish loss of form comes from within the club, the team isn’t a team, a unit playing for each other with the confidence and mentality they are the best, unbeatable. Players getting sent off you could almost put your wages on it happening, a poor choice in captain, the players are clearly frustrated as the starting eleven has no consistency. Players getting injured, do they really want to play? It’s no surprise if they don’t as we fans don’t help, look at okane he’s gone from hero to being a nervous wreck when he gets the ball, makes errors he didn’t before and picks up red cards. We get on players backs without any mercy. I would want away if that was happening to me. I agree with giving the youngsters a run in the team, nothing to lose. Worked for O’Leary ! Just sharing thoughts, not saying I’m right by any means.

If Jansson and Siaz are sold that tells me and should tell you all you we are a selling club and a feeder club we will never win promotion trying to rebuild constantly in the summer with cheap sub standard players until Mr or Mrs billionaire walks into our club expect more misery in the mid to lower reaches of the league regardless who's manager.
